To say moving hurt would have probably been an understatement. Lattice had essentially clung to Needle as best as she could throughout the night after getting back from the Field Trip of Doom and Despair. Naturally the needles in their arms didn't allow for much clinging but they both made due with what they could. Sometimes they'd bump one or the other's freshly made wounds and whine but otherwise they managed to pass through the night without incident.
Sitting up slowly and ignoring her own pain she looked over at her Sister's form with a small smile. She was glad her Twin was nearby now. It was terrible all the things her mind had done to her during the trip and it was reassuring to be near Needle once again.
Lattice started to stiffly crawl out of bed so she could start attending to her shoulder wound as Malodore had instructed her to at the healer's tents.

When Lattice first came home, Needle was too consumed with pain to cheer and carry on like she had wanted to, but the whole sleeping thing was definitely accepted. She clung to her sister as best as she could, trying to sleep the pain away in silence; sadly, it wasn't working for either of them. Too bad, so sad. She whimpered when her arm was touched, gave little cries when the new needle was moved, and if Lattice made any noises of discomfort she adjusted herself to compensate. It was a vicious cycle, but it was one she could deal with if it meant being able to see and hold her sister again. The few days that had passed seemed like a life time when you were in pain, and even worse without your lifeline.
Needle registered Lattice getting up, but she couldn't bring herself to do the same. She just laid on her side like a bump on a log, her newly ritual'd arm resting precariously on her hip. The older needles dig in to her skin, but it was the only remotely comfortable position at the moment, and the other remained sprawled on the bed. She felt like lead, but she was at least waking up.
"Sister, I missed you." She said softly, the pain in her voice not only from her physical mutilations. She tried to get up then, managing to sit up but do little else for now. "I am so glad to see you safe...but what happened to your shoulder? Do you require assistance?"

She had undone some of the bindings pausing only a second to glance at her Twin with a small smile, "I have missed you as well, Dear One," she said quietly as she moved to resume unbinding the wound that was left behind by the arrow. When asked if she could use some assistance she had been about to say she didn't but thought better of it.
"Please, Sister, it would be much less awkward if I had some help," she said softly as she smiled a bit toward her Twin, "I..was in a fight on the fieldtrip. An arrow caught me in the shoulder. That is all."
She was trying to play it off as if it was not a major deal so as not to upset her Needle.

"A Fight? How terrible..." Needle trailed off, pressing her lips together in worry. Somehow, she couldn't believe it was simply a single fight with a single arrow to her dear twin's shoulder; she had felt the craze, and the desperation to get home was so overwhelming that it couldn't have been as simple as she was saying. However, who knew what Lattice meant; she could very well have meant that the only physical injury was the arrow.
"Tell me about the field trip, and your fight?" The Engraver inquired, sliding foward to try and help undress the wound, her hands trembling as pain tore through her from her recent ritual. Still, she grit through it and pressed her lips together, trying to not utter any noises of pain. "I will be cross if you leave out details!" She managed to get out, trying to sound as chidingly curious as always.
She was not in pain! No she was not!

She had hoped to wiggle around the whole issue of what had happened at the fieldtrip to just quietly leave it out but she could not deny her Sibling anything. Not even these bits of worrying information that could upset her. "After we are done with my wound we'll attend to your new piercings," she said quietly still stalling. Now, however, she could stall no more.
"It began innocently enough," Lattice said softly with a small smile, "we were just going to explore this haunted house and I was with Lizzy and two other ghouls named Vieve and Edelweiss." She paused a bit, "we got through the first room well because I was able to see everything in it. The room was covered in ink it was glorious...."
Lattice's lips twitched into a smile, "I even made a small friend there. I shall have to show you in a moment but the second room...There were these ... individuals there. They captured us with nets and dragged us away...When I awoke we were in cages..."
