Roch looked around his room, moving a bit stiffly as he cleaned up the room. Hel would be there first, to help him clean his couch, then Xiu should be showing up--
But he wanted to talk to Hel about something before Xiu showed up. And he did NOT want Hel to leave while Xiu was there. Not when he was feeling vulnerable. He hoped the other reaper understood the problem...
No, Chuppi was wrong, right? He could still talk to the ghoul and not feel... his problem feelings, right? He COULD!
But he wasn't about to let Hel leave, he decided, giving into weakness.

After conversing with the punk reaper a bit through Groanspring, Hel collected some of her materials to help clean leather, and than was bounding down the stairs to the first floor of the reaper dormitory. Following Roch’s instructions, she found herself at the end of the hall and in front of the door. Shifting her materials to one arm, the reaper reached out to knock on the door with a fist.
“Oi! It’s me, friend!”

The door opened to a rather nervous looking boil, who let her in, then looked down the hall with a slight frown. "I got a problem," he said abruptly. "I shoulda thought about this when I was talkin' with you on groanspring. Xiu found out about the bleeding problem..."
Cricket had, too, apparently, but unlike Xiu, thankfully she didn't give a scragg's a**. "So Xiu is coming to nag at me soon, and I CAN'T be alone with her at this point in the game. Please don't leave me alone with her?" he begged.

Hel looked a bit surprised when the door opened to a nervous looking Roch. “Oh…is the couch that bad?” She questioned, furrowing her brows as she moved into his room, but paused once she learned what the ‘problem’ was. Oh, Xiu? The valkyrie seemed to perk up considerably. “How wonderful! I am happy I shall be able to see her…Oh.” Oh yeah…poor Roch.
“Ah…” The reaper rubbed the back of her neck as Roch started to beg. Oh sweet Sally, this was really taking a toll on him, huh? “Heh…don’t worry friend, I won’t!” She promised. “Relax, alright?”

"Thanks," he said gratefully. "I'm bein' childish, I know, it's just--" He shrugged, then winced a bit, wishing he could take his vest off. But maybe he could get away with hiding the welt. Maybe.
"But check this out!" he said, heading for the room built into the corner. He opened the door, motioning her into his red and silver decorated karaoke booth, complete with the leather couch and stage. "This'll help me practice my FEAR without breaking the bank," he said. "Sound proof walls."

“…Ah…it’s alright, friend.” Hel murmured sympathetically. She knew what it was like to be stuck in a room with someone who affected you deeply.
The reaper trailed after him though when he wanted to show her something. When he opened the door and ushered her in, the reaper looked suitably impressed. Her mouth was parted in an awed ‘oh’ expression as she took in the room, and then she grinned. “This is amazing, friend!” She complimented, looking over the stage and the walls until her eyes landed on the couch. She pointed at it. “Is that the problem?”

"Yeah," he said. "I didn't want the blood soaking into my bed, y'know? Then it starts smelling funny and I have to ask Mrs. Wheedle to send me a new one, and she just made this one," he said, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"I also wanted to talk to you about Mot," he said quietly. "I asked him who he looks at, since it isn't you. Man... that idiot," he drawled, shaking his head.

“Understandable!” Hel commented, moving over to the couch. She set her supplies down near it, and pulled out a spray and some rags and cloths. “Learned how to make this spray from a leather working master back home, friend!” The reaper informed, “It will help to remove stains…even ones such as blood!” The ghoul started to spray the liquid over the stains, but the bottle fell from her grasp and clattered onto the floor noisily Roch said he wanted to talk about Mot.
Aaaaaaawkward.
Hel would rather not talk about Mot, especially in the context Roch was implying. The ghoul froze for a moment longer before she picked the bottle back up and rested her hands on her knees, waiting for the liquid to set it for a moment. Hel just shrugged her shoulders lamely. “He can look at whoever he wants, that’s his choice, friend…”

"When she's taken?" he said quietly. "And I don't know Lizzy that well, but I really doubt she'd be dating a guy she wasn't crazy about. I also don't give a jack about what happens with her love life, but Mot's... I jackin' hate how he's setting himself up like this."
He was silent for a second, as if sorting through his thoughts. "You... nah, I won't go into that," he said. "But I will say one thing. If you want someone's attention, sometimes it's easiest to get by paying attention to someone else. So I'm gonna offer myself up for that. Not because I love you, but because I love him. He's my best guy friend. I don't want him hurt, not for somethin' stupid like this."

Hel just sighed as she took one of her rags and started to scrub the blood off of the couch. Yes…Hel didn’t like how he was setting himself up for that either…but really, what could she do about it? When she did try to get involved…it wasn’t helpful at all, not one bit…and Mot still liked her so…he must really like her? She thought he’d realize she was taken but…that’s why they say the heart and emotions are unpredictable, right?
“…Heh…I’ve said things about it…” Hel mused as she wiped the blood. “…But it just ended up hurting others…and he still likes her so…it’s his choice.” This last part was muttered, listening to Roch’s words…when suddenly he seemed to come up with an offer. Hel’s head whipped around so fast you think the ghoul got whiplash, and once again, she just stared at Roch with a mixture of horror and being flabbergasted. “Wh…what!?” The valkyrie spluttered. You know, she could see where Roch was coming from, and his dedication to his friend was touching and honorable…but…but paying attention to Roch so that Mot would notice? It made her stomach crawl, and not in a good way. What if Mot didn’t notice? What if he didn’t care?

"Is it so bad hanging out with me?" Roch asked, leaning against the open door frame and crossing his arms over his chest.
"I won't think you got a thing for me, and you obviously will know I don't got a thing for you, but I think we could make good friends. We can have jam sessions, hang out at the maul, and whether he notices, which I think he will, or doesn't, it might help us both to have a distraction."

Honestly? Xiu was a little upset that Roch hadn't gotten his injuries tended to. It had been worrying enough to see Mitsu's injuries--the poor ghoul had been so worried about Shun--but she had at least allowed Xiu to tend to her wounds. Roch seemed a lot more resistant.
She wondered why that was? She hadn't seen much of him after the field trip--or even during--and that fact concerned her.
It hadn't taken her long to get to the reaper dorms. In fact, it had only taken her a few minutes as promised, and when she arrived, she was surprised to find that Hel was there as well. A smile tugged at her lips at the sight of her friend and she started forward, about to make her presence known when she caught a scrap of their conversation.
"And I don't know Lizzy that well, but I really doubt she'd be dating a guy she wasn't crazy about."
They...what were they talking about? Despite her conscience, she listened as Roch continued, her smile immediately dropping. Were they talking about Mot? The baku's memory flickered back to what she had seen in the cowboil's dream, her frown deepening. Why would they be talking about him right now?
She jumped when Roch suddenly leaned against the door frame. Eying the reaper silently, she stepped out behind him and cleared her throat.

Hel shook her head hastily.
“No…no that’s not it at all, friend!” She corrected, her lips pulling down into a frown as she scrubbed at the leather.
“I do not doubt that we’d be good friends, and I enjoy your company…but ah…” She sighed heavily again. “…Spending time together with the intent to make Mot notice…it doesn’t sit well with me….” Hel had a nagging feeling in the back of her head that kept saying it didn’t feel right, and that she didn’t want to spend time with someone just for that reason. “Besides, I don’t even know if…he’d notice…” The reaper shrugged her shoulders lamely, but startled when she heard a cough.
Her dual toned gaze whipped over to the Baku who had just arrive. “…Xiu!” She cried out, pleased to see the ghoul. She dropped the bloody rag and made her way over to the ghou, holding her arms out. “It is so good to see you, friend!” Especially after that field trip…the fact that Xiu may have caught some of their conversation didn’t cross her mind yet.

Roch literally jumped at the sound of a cough, barely twisting so Hel could go past him to the baku girl. He almost dreaded looking at Xiu, he thought as he glanced at her. Absently he leaned his back against the door frame-- "Sonof a WITCH!" he yelped, standing up straight again. Then he tried to look as if it hadn't happened.
Wait... "Uh, hey, Xiu," he said, waving in a casual motion. How long had she been standing there?

Xiu immediately raised her good arm to return the Valkyrie's hug, her tail giving a little wag behind her. "Hel! I'm glad to see you as well!" She drew back after a moment, her gaze concerned as she looked her friend over, "How are you? A-are you hurt?" Not many people got out of that battle unscathed, that was for certain.
Speaking of injured people...
The baku had not missed that yelp of Roch's. Though she was still a little puzzled--and troubled--over what she had overheard (making Mot take notice...?), she temporarily pushed this aside as she stared up at the reaper boil. If she could cross her arms, she would--instead, she simply frowned, and then sat herself down on the floor. Setting the medical kit in her lap, she leaned forward to pat the spot in front of her, indicating that Roch should sit down.
"Shirt up, Roch," She told him as she popped the kit open and sorted through the contents.
