It had been long overdue in her mind, but in her own defense she couldn't exactly move for a couple days, and yesterday Roch kidnapped took her to the maul. But today? Today was Hang out with Lizzy day. It was make sure she's okay day. As it had been with this week so far, Amrita dressed for function and ease, wearing only things she could put on with one arm as she didn't want to ruin her body further and wanted the splint and sling to stay on. This meant she was wearing a dress, a strapless one that only had to be slipped on. Easy dresses wooooo~
When she first arrived at the Demon Dorms she stared at the front door, wondering if she was brave enough to go in on her own. Part of her didn't want to, she still was uncomfortable with the idea of being in there in all of her Undead Glory; the other part of her told her she was stupid in allowing herself to be made uncomfortable by a house when she'd taken on Christmas, a flesh eating Plant, Hunters, and the Monster that Red had become. She could put her life on the line, but she couldn't go through a door? Sigh, Amrita, Sigh.
Squaring her shoulders, she took a deep breath and reached out for the handle of the dorms. Slowly at first, but then she struck like a snake, lashing out, throwing the door open, and bolting inside in a matter of seconds. Clearly, charging headlong was the only way to get in, because see? She was in. Oops, now she couldn't back out! Feeling quite proud of herself for the overcoming of the demon dorm doors, the Vetala headed upstairs to the room she knew was Lizzy's, giving it a knock on the door and waiting until she was acknowledged.

Thankfully for Amrita, she did not make a wasted trip; Lizzy might still be trying to get back into the swing of things, but not sleeping well was something that made her want to just lie in bed all day long... Which was what she had been doing when she heard the knock.
Feeling wary, she made her way to the door, choosing not to answer immediately; she was still very aware of how this field trip had strained some of her relationships rather than build on them. While she would usually be eager to fix things, she was tired, sore and frankly not willing to risk another potential heart break.
"Hello?" She finally opened the door, peeking out; her hair was still a little messy from her laying in bed, but surprisingly, it didn't really seem to bother her. When she saw the person outside her door, however, she brightened up considerably, throwing the door open and enveloping her in a tight embrace, "Amrita!"

The moment Lizzy opened the door wide enough, the Vetala rushed forward for a one-armed embrace. Without a single thought she planted a kiss to the ghoul's cheek, and that was only because she missed her mouth. Whoops, she wasn't used to being taller than Lizzy, or being anything but shorter than the person she was showing affections to.
"Lizzy!" She cheered, nuzzling her half face against her friend's shoulder. "I'm so glad you're home! Hi! How...How are you doing? Can I come in?"

The first time a ghoul kissed her, she liked it was surprised but didn't exactly hate it. Besides, it was on her cheek and it reminded her of the way her mother used to kiss her on her forehead. Chaste, friendly and almost... Sisterly?
When Amrita kissed her, Lizzy froze and had a 'is this real life' moment as she slowly pulled back to stare at the ghoul; she had never done that before! It was always hugs and more hugs! Even in her old body, Amrita had never, ever tried to kiss her for whatever reason.
"A-ah yes! O-of course!" She answered, still surprised and wide-eyed from the kiss as she took a step back, inviting her in, "Is your arm better now? And the rest of your injuries?" She eyed the sling, reminding herself to be more careful when trying to hug Amrita; it would be back if she aggravated the problem accidentally while trying to be affectionate.
"Uh... I don't know how to put this, but..." She paused, looking awkward all of a sudden, "Uh, well... Did you just try to kiss me?" With anyone else, it would no doubt be an odd question that she would probably never, ever ask directly. However, this was Amrita. If she tried to kiss her, she must had picked it up from somewhere.
... Or someone.
It better not be the latter.

"My arm?" She stared at it as though she didn't realize it was still in a splint and sling. "Oh, um, it's fine, I guess? It never really hurt since it happened...undead perk, I guess." Her FEAR levels were back to normal and so aside from it being annoying to not have a full range of motions, it was fine. "Just...don't want to ruin this body more than I already have, you know?" She said meekly, ducking towards her shoulders and looking away. She had new sewn spots since the body was made, and most of the minor ones had been repaired by all the FEAR around them, thank Jack. "You didn't answer my question though." She pointed out with a little frown.
"Yeah, I missed though, sorry." Amrita, of course, thought nothing of it. Why would she? It was a simple gesture, nothing more. So when the question was posed, she just stared at Lizzy like what else could I have been trying to do.

"Oh right!" She chuckled, shaking her head as she shrugged, tucking her hair behind her ears, "I've been... Fine? I can't stop thinking about certain things, but... I feel much better now." Especially since Mac had been patient with her, even allowing her to cry on him and kissed her better a few days ago. She smiled at the thought, blushing slightly before Amrita's comment caused her to freeze.
"Wait... Wait..." She held up both her hands, "If you missed... Were you aiming for my lips?!" Cue horrified look.
Followed by 'where is my Amrita and what have you done with her' look.

"Certain things...? Like what?" She thought she knew, but maybe something happened that she wasn't aware of. "I'm...very glad you feel better though!" She still hurt, but not in a physical sense; but like Lizzy, she was feeling better at least.
"Well yes, but why---" When Lizzy's look turned horrified, Amrita's own half-faced expression went though a rushing flood of emotions.

"Like... Being held in a cage..." Her voice softened and she shuddered, forcing a smile, "But I'm alright now!"
Amrita's expression changes just caused her own panic levels to increase, but at least she knew that it was Amrita. Nobody but Amrita could go through that many facial expressions.
"W-well... Friends don't usually kiss friends..." She begun, her own expression sheepish, "Especially not on the lips."

"Oh...I'm sorry, Lizzy." She murmured about the cages, briefly looking sad before her expressions exploded everywhere else.
"...They don't? But then why did..." The Vetala looked remarkably perplexed now, her good hand lifting to rest against what was left of her lips, where first Remi and then later Christof had kissed. Was it wrong of them to do so? If friends didn't kiss friends... Did she do something wrong when she kissed Johan for saving her life then, too? Hrm. But at the same time, each of the gestures came with the relief that generally followed Oh Jack thank you for not being dead, so maybe...?
"What about kisses for being alive?" She questioned slowly, wondering if this was an 'exception to the rule' thing. This was already too confusing! Her brow remained narrowed in thought.

"... Why did...?" She was curious now, her brow knitted together as she tilted her head; it sounded like Amrita was about to reveal the horrible person who taught her to kiss.
... DID THAT PERSON STEAL HER FIRST KISS?
She went rigid at the thought, although she was trying her best to look as calm as possible, not wishing for Amrita to freak out on her, "I... Uh... Amrita. Kisses between friends are usually like-" She hesitated, tugging on the fabric of her nightgown nervously. She then leaned over to plant a chaste kiss on her good cheek before pulling back, "Like that. Kissing on the lips is usually reserved for your boilfriend... Or if you're a boil, your ghoulfriend."
She paused, wondering if she even know what those were.
"Uh, like... Junko and Seiji," She offered, "Or Riley and Malodore. Or Mac and myself. It's a special type of kiss... If a boil kisses you on the lips, it means that you're very special to him and that he wants to be more than just your 'friend'."

Sorry Lizzy, Amrita stayed quiet on the perpetrators.
"I-it...it does...?" Amrita processed the information as well as she could; there were a lot of question marks and blank spaces, but she was aware of at least one thing; that she had been wrong all along. She flushed when Lizzy corrected her on kiss manners, busying herself by playing with a loose thread on her sling in the meantime. This was...a lot to take in, really. She had been so sure she was right! She wasn't even close to right! Aaa!
"S-so, um like a...err, like a special friend...?" She asked meekly. "B-but..." Her lips flatlined while her eye lifted to stare at the ceiling. "T-that...can't be right..." Not that she ever doubted Lizzy, but... "Charlie's never...a-and I don't think he---" If you looked really closely, you might have been able to see smoke coming out of her ears. Remi barely knew her when he kissed her, and it seemed the only reason he had was because she had saved him. "Or when---" Christof knew her, but come on it was Christof! She often felt like she was a puppy to him, one he wasn't sure how to handle. Or at least something of an annoyance, since she was well aware her backwards limbs were both mildly distressing and frustrating to him.
So then why did he...
The Vetala wasn't any sort of an expert on this stuff, and though she was still ?!?! about most of it she was starting to understand. A little. No matter though, she was still confused. Too confused. Suddenly nothing made sense any more.

"A special friend is... One way of putting it, I suppose...?" She sighed, shuffling her feet as she played with her hair, like she was trying to find a way to make this conversation less awkward.
She was obviously failing though.
"Charlie doesn't understand the meaning of a special friend. Or rather, to him, the meaning is different," She continued, looking thoughtful, "He sees you as someone dear and important to him, but probably not as a ghoulfriend. When you agreed to be his special friend, you didn't think of him as a boilfriend, right? Just as someone special to you?"
She sighed again, taking Amrita's uninjured hand and leading her over to the bed, where she was asked to take a seat beside her.
"Kissing is very intimate," That was how she saw it anyway, "And even if you wish to express how happy you are that someone is alive by kissing them, go for the cheek. However, the lips are for that someone really, really special that is your boilfriend. You shouldn't allow people to kiss you on the lips so casually..."

Amrita didn't feel awkward, she felt stupid, which wasn't an entirely unknown feeling to her. Just because she was familiar with it didn't mean she enjoyed it, though. She listened to Lizzy in confused silence, her lips squirming as she thought and pondered. Before she knew it she was sitting on Lizzy's bed, not entirely sure how she got there, but at least it was somewhat comfortable---and of course, Lizzy was holding her hand. Tht was always reassuring.
"I...I guess...I thought...that it was like you and I, or um, you know..." She shrugged lamely, not sure what to do now that she was forced to look back at the day Charlie said he liked her. Was Charlie special to her? Yes, he was...but she was starting to understand that he was special to her because he was her friend and because he was nice to her, not...anything more. Relationships were hard to wrap your head around and just seemed like far too much work and effort and secret knowledge, why did people ever get in to them?
"I..I'm really sorry, um...I won't anymore." She promised, briefly drawing an X against her chest with her free hand. "Ip-promise." She added quickly, slouching and still feeling generally silly over the whole thing. "But, um...how do you know if you think they're special in, ah, that way?" She had to ask, just to be sure she didn't mess up again.

She gave the hand she was holding onto a gentle squeeze, as if sensing her confusion, "I'm in a relationship myself, and it still confuses me." That was the truth of the matter and she had a feeling that she would probably never truly understand how relationships work since everyone seemed to see it differently.
"Aw, don't be sorry," She smiled, pulling her into a hug, patting her hair in what she hoped was a comforting manner, "You didn't know before, so it was not your fault... Although... Who did you kiss? And who kissed you?" She had to know if the boil (or ghoul) had possible bad intentions towards Amrita! After all, she was still learning about these things and it would probably be easy to just...
"Huh?" Blinking at the ghoul, she seemed to blush as she paused to think, "Well... Most people start feeling really happy. Like unnaturally so. There is also that urge to see that person all the time, and you get these warm and happy feelings in your chest when you think of that person... You love everything about them. Their laugh, their smile... And it tears you apart to see them upset." All personal experiences.
"It's really hard to explain..."

The hug was leaned in to and of course half returned, but the deeply pondering expression never really left her. Well, until Lizzy asked who; then she just looked shy, maybe even a little sheepish. The question was set aside at first, instead focusing on the clues Lizzy was giving her. Unnaturally happy, urge to see them all the time, warm feelings...hrm, well, okay. It was also good to note that these feelings were in the chest. It was a good distinction. She didn't quite understand, but she now knew that when her chest felt happy it was probably someone you liked specially in that way.
"Err, okay, thanks, Lizzy." She said, albeit distracted, until she recalled what she had been asked earlier.
"Oh! Um, ah, well, you see..." She wasn't sure how to answer, she didn't want to get anyone in trouble and she didn't want to show Lizzy just how wrong she'd been! That would be...terrible! Absolutely terrible! Lizzy was her friend, she didn't want to disappoint her! Aaaaaaa-- "R-remi did, um, first...in the house. A-after the Hunters attacked it...umm, I saved him I guess." The beginnings of a rambling Undead, clearly. Though she was pretty sure she didn't do anything but shove him behind her. HE saved her in her mind, from making an illusion to hide the flames from her. "S-so...he thanked me and kissed me and I thought that was okay so..." The sling would find itself fidgeted with again, something to keep her busy for the time being. "Then...Johan...on the cheek." She felt it very important to clarify, especially considering the conversation that lead to this. "B-because I was dying and he...gave me his pumpkin pill." Also probably because he saved her in Christmas Town a time or two as well. "Th-then..."
"Um..." She trailed off. "In...in the tents...Chris...ah..." She squirmed for a moment, brimming with happiness at the memory. "He hugged me! He never...okayhedidonceinthathousebutitdidn'treallycount he NEVER hugs me first!" It was a bright shining moment for her despite all the pain; she somehow did something to get herself honoured with a Christof hug! This was monumentous! She deserved a medal! Only not really, because she'd already gotten a hug out of it. "I...I mean he kissed me too, but, he hugged me." She hoped that the more she said it, the more she'd believe it.
