Whoever came up with this idea of a game was evil. Coeus was sure of it. Hide and Seek. It was probably Papa. Under all his fluffy squirm-worthy snuggles, lay a heart of evil that he loved to display to his children. Not that anyone else saw it that way. It was like everyone else LOVED Hide and Seek. And they probably did.

It was the hiding part that bothered Coeus, or even the seeking part. It was the get pounced upon when the seeker finds the hider, and the hiders aren't allowed to change their positions once the seeker counts to one hundred. They weren't allowed to move. Whatever hiding spot, for better or for worse, they had to stay until the seeker pounced on them. And the game could go on for HOURS. Who wanted to play this kind of game for hours? Not Coeus. She wanted to find a quiet riverside and swim. Maybe pounce on her shadow companion. Or even climb up hills to look out over the horizon. But no. She was stuck hiding.

And to make matters worse, sweet Thalia was seeker. Thalia was enthusiastic. So being found was one of Coeus most hated parts of the game. Even more so when she wanted to left alone. Like now. Why did she let herself get talked into this? Surely she could have found a way out of this?

User Image Oh what a wonderful day this was. Thalia had convinced her sister Coeus to play hide and seek with her and the little fluffy spawn was incredibly happy to have a sibling to romp around with. But that was not even the best part, no. The best part was that Thalia got to be the seeker. Oh yes, the little leopon was excited to find her sister and pounce on her once she was found.

The dark cub raced around the area they had picked for the game, seeking her sister in every nook and cranny she could think of. After a few minutes of finding nothing, Thalia huffed in slight annoyance. She stood under a tree gazing around, wondering where on earth her sister was hiding. Then the idea came to her! With a giggle the little cub scampered up a tree and climbed out onto a ledge, her tail twitching excitedly as she used this new view point to scope out potential hiding spots.

Tucked away between two large rocks similar in color as herself that were shaped like a lean-to, Coeus debated silently and as still as she could with herself. Really her choices were either get pounced now or later. And really, she'd rather not get pounced on at all. The tip of her tail flicked the slightest back and forth showing her frustration and agitation.

But she didn't want to abandon the game. Leaving in the middle of a game tended to make her siblings and other cubs upset and sad. And Coeus didn't like the thought of her sister, her twin, Euthalia sad because she had decided to sneak away in the middle of game play. So her options were - now or later. They weren't really great options, but they were options.

Coeus could either give herself away, or tuck herself into one of the shadows of the big rocks and wait. Pounced now. Pounced later.

][ Sorry I'm a derp. I'm willing to try to finish this if you are, if not we can abandon it, I will understand. >.< ][

As the playful hybrid raked her claws across the bark, tail fluttering wildly behind her, her eyes scanned the ground, looking for any sign of movement. Her twin had to be around here somewhere. Concentration put a crease on the young seekers brow as she looked, and looked and looked. But nothing. Her eyes darted so quickly around her though, it wasn't a big surprise she didn't manage to catch the subtle flickering of her own sisters tail between two rocks. Truely Coeus has picked a brilliant hiding spot.

With a bit of her own agitation the ever playful sister leapt down from her perch in the tree. No matter how graceful her other sister, Cali, made getting into and out of trees look, Thalia just wasn't a good climber. As she jumped from the branch, her front paws outstretched, she landed wrong and went tumbling towards the rocks Coeus was hiding between. With a thud she smacked into them.

Slowly Thalia stood on shaky paws and stumbled around a bit, her head dizzy for a moment until she shook it off, her ears flopping around. "Coeus where are you hiding!?" She called out as she managed to get her balance back to normal. As she called out and looked around, her back towards her sisters hiding spot, of course.

[you are not a derp. because then i would be a derp and i'm more of a geek/nerd and sometimes freak to be a derp. but i am more than willing to finish especially since my classes are starting back up and i'll be more active and motivated with them]

Coeus winced as her twin landed wrong and tumbled into her lean-to rocks. The debate became more intense in her mind, but a third option presented itself when her sister didn't even check the rocks.

The only problem was that Coeus hated to be pounced so she was considerate of pouncing others. Then again her siblings all loved the game and didn't seem to have the same issues as she did with hide and seek, seek and pounce, so maybe ...

Taking a deep breath Coeus started to inch her way out behind her sister and counted to ten. One. Two. Three. Four. .... Five? That came after four right? Yes, she remembered Papa counting. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten!

Coeus sprang at her sister with a playful roar as warning.

Thalia never would have expected Coeus, of all her siblings, to be the one to pounce her. So when the roar hit her ears, followed by her sisters weight crashing into her, Thalia just sort of toppled over with a perplexed look on her face as she turned her gaze to the white eared twin. After the initial shock wore off though, it was on.

The little leopon giggled and squeaked happily and squirmed out from under the other fluffy spawn. She bounced around in a circle before leaping at Coeus, trying to pounce her now. "Got'cha!" She shrieked happily as she attempted to land on top of her sister.

Despite the sadness that often overwhelmed Coeus and drove her to be alone rather than with her siblings, something in Thalia's face when she was pounced made Coeus giggle. And pounce hard. She didn't expect the laugh or the worry of being pounce to disappear, but it did. For that moment Coeus was a carefree cub playing with her twin sister. She was happy, laughing, playing.

"Nah-uh!' Coeus denied, rolling out of her twin's way. "I won't let you get me!" Coeus tried to repounce Thalia, and somehow ended up under her. She shrieked with laughter.
