She had a new book. A brand new, delicious smelling, wonderful feeling STAR WARS book. Millicent was completely giddy, hugging the paperback book with loving arms. Her mom had taken her to the bookstore earlier in the day and let her pick out whatever book she wanted. Of course she had only picked this book because Jacen was on the cover, face illuminated by his beautiful green lightsaber.
The child giggled, flushing slightly. She had the biggest crush on Jacen Solo…he was just so cool! She loved reading about him in the Young Jedi Knights books and wanted to be just like him when she grew up…Just like him.
She wasn’t completely sure why the title of the book was “Betrayal”, but she was very sure it was going to be good. She glanced around then put the book on her bed, running to her closet and putting on her Jedi Halloween costume—She could be a Jedi whenever she wanted. It wasn’t just for trick or treating by a long shot.
When her robes were in place, boots on, hair back in a braid, Millie let out a happy shout, grabbing the book and calling for her pigs, running into the backyard, acting quite a lot like a wild child, hair flying back, eyes bright with excitement. She climbed onto the picnic table and drew out her lightsaber, shouting about how she, Millicent Solo, wife to Jacen…(Who cared about Tenel Ka, really? It didn’t matter. She didn’t have an arm, and Millie did.) But, she was shouting about how she would destroy the one who betrayed her Jedi family! She would restore peace and balance to the galaxy!
The two pigs were oinking and snorting, running around the picnic table, seeming excited by their owner’s outburst.
Millicent danced on top of the table for a minute, then began swordfighting an invisible opponent. “No! No you evil Sith Lord! You won’t hurt my family! I’ll stop you! Hi-yahhhh!” She jumped off the table, thrusting her green saber hard. The pigs parted and continued oinking, their curly tails waggling. Millie landed on her feet, but just barely, a large grin on her face. “I got you, you evil—OH NO!” She cried out then clutched at her stomach. “Nooooooo! Evil will never winnnnnnn!”
The child fell to the ground in a dramatic, slow motion style, reaching upwards, a tortured expression on her face. “Nooooooooooo”
When she finally made it to the ground, she remained there until one of her pigs walked over, nudging her with his snout, snorting. Millicent’s eyes opened and she scooped the pig up. “Jacen! You saved me! You put me in a bacta tank, didn’t you? Oh, I knew you loved me!” She laughed, seeming so happy with absolutely everything, then moved to the side of the backyard that was full of hay. (So Millicent could jump into it…and for the pigs…But mostly for Millie.) She flopped down in the stuff and sneezed as the dust flew up, though didn’t seem bothered. Her pigs snuggled up next to her, and she began reading her book, eagerly awaiting when she would be able to see Jacen—her hero, save the galaxy once again.
