She was still smarting from her encounter with the insane lion. His stakes had grazed her in a manner that ensured it was awkward to move, but more importantly, were varying in severity to the point that she found it difficult to calculate how long it would take for her to reach full health again. It could be anything from weeks to months depending on whether various preybeasts took advantage of her current state. Suffice to say that if she were a preybeast, she'd take every opportunity to poke an open or semi-healed wound to deter something from eating her!
Fortunately she had already had a reasonable meal a few days ago and as a consequence she didn't need to pursue anything further for a while yet. at the very least it would give her wounds a few days to settle and close over, by then, she would be more than capable of satiating her hunger. Therefore, it should have come at no surprise to find that the lioness had elected to return to her favoured perch for the rest of the day and had absolutely no intention of moving.
...Well, unless she had to.
Stretching out on the rock, the lioness released a contented sigh and lowered her head onto her forepaws. Basking in the sun was one of life's small pleasures and she intended to take advantage of it while she could...and may the gods help anyone who disturbed her!
