The day was surprisingly warm and Von decided to take advantage of it and take her guitar down by the lake. She'd been cooped up and running around so much that being outside was exhilarating. She decided to put off playing and just walk around enjoying the breeze.

Attor sat under a tree staring out at the towards the river. It felt good to be a lone for a little while. Away from the questions people were asking him that he had no answers for. More then ever he wished Clover was sitting her talking with him, she was the only one he felt he might be able to tell about what happened. How could he tell anyone else that he had been chased out of his own home and was now living with his Aunt that didn't want him there. That would tarnish Attor's image in his mind.
He turned his hands over looking at the scars in the palm of his hands and wondered if there was some where else for him to go. Maybe the school could help him or a friend. That would be Attor's goal for this year he couldn't go home and didn't want to go to his Aunt's, but he couldn't let just anyone know of his problems.

Von was enjoying her walk and the silence that came with it when she noticed Attor sitting under a tree near the river. She walked over and leaned against the tree behind him. " Looks pretty doesn't? This place beats home any day." She smiles at him totally ignoring the scars on his face and sits down next to him. " How goes it this year?"

Von startled Attor a little as his hands clinched tight. He had been careful to hide those extra scars even if the ones on his face he could not. He put his hands on his knees before looking out over the view. "That's for sure."
"Not bad I've yet to get in trouble, still lots of school year left though." Attor said with a laugh before smiling up to Von. "How have you been?"

"Busy mostly which means I haven't gotten into trouble either. But like you said there's plenty of year to go around getting into trouble." She was insanely curious about Attor but figured he'd tell her if he wanted her to know but that didn't stop her from giving him an opportunity to tell her. " Guess the obvious question would be to ask how your summer went but if ya don't wanna talk about it I understand. I finished my song this summer, and started on another."

"Maybe we shall find some trouble to start together." Attor laughed trying to have some fun for once, but when she asked about his summer he looked down, wrapping his arms around his knees and placing his chin on top of his needs. He wouldn't go into detail, but he trusted Von for the most part. "Not well...not well at all." Attor's voice seemed a little shaky at that point. "As you've no doubt seen the proof of." Attor said once more open his hands to show the scars on his palms. "The only thing to know is Im looking for a new place to call home...but do me a favor and don't make that public knowledge Von.....I'm living with my old bitty Aunt right now and she scares the bloody hell out of me." Attor said wrapping his arms around his knees once more not looking back up to her.

Von smiled knowing that within the year there was a good chance she and he would get into a brawl of some kind. Her smile quickly faded though as he spoke of his summer. "That stinks. I'd offer to let you stay with me but right now I'm staying with Vi. Though I know the Doyle's have plenty of room." She paused for a moment and placed a companionably arm around Attor. " I won't say a word, but you've got to spare with me again this year." She offered him a huge challenging grin. " I do have one question before I drop the topic. Why don't you want people to know you're floating around? I'm known for it."

"I can do that." Attor smiled a bit he quite enjoyed their sparring sessions. Attor sighed a bit having a slight flash back to what happened the night he had to leave his home. "You know very well that to some people family is very important to your standing and your connection worth. If its known that my connection with my family is very minor right now then my worth will go down and I've worked to hard already for that to happen. I don't know anything else." Attor said feeling very frustrated. "And its not like it was my fault...if people hear I can't go home they will assume its because I did something bad and I didn't..." Attor pulled at his hair a little everything was driving him crazy recently this was more then a boy his age should have to deal with.

Von knew very well about striving for stature. She removed her arm, pulled up her knees and rested her head on them for a moment before looking up at him. " Well why not tell people you're broadening your connections via traveling to visit others. Don't let them know you can't go back but that you choose not to go back." She made a mental note to talk to Vi about doing something. Of course she'd have to figure out how to do that with spilling the beans.

"Maybe but believe it or not I try not to lie to people. If I want to run a proper business in the future I want to be viewed as trust worthy...but perhaps this would fall under a white lie? Besides staying with my crazy aunt will do nothing for my cleaner out look. She sells black magic artifacts Von...not that I'm not a little curious about them, but the kind of people that buy them are shady and smelly...and its just not a place for me to be...plus my bed is like a 50 year old cot and my snakes I miss them..." Attor whined a little like any kid put in such a situation would. "....I'm sorry Von...I've not had many people to talk too."

Von could see the point Attor was making and could see why he felt like there was no right way. The part about dark magic gave her the shivers. " Do people know which aunt you're staying with if you just say your aunt?" Gosh she felt so helpless without knowing why he couldn't go home it was hard for her to use her contacts to help fix the situation, if they could.

Attor shrugged looking back over the beautiful Hogwarts grounds. "I suppose not, but I feel like its only a matter of time before someone sees me sweeping up the shop and such. My Aunt has me working in the store constantly." Attor shook his head thinking about the things and people he had seen there. "She hides it under another type of store but the bad stuff is in a secret back room."

She placed her head back on her knees, poor kid was in a true blue bad situation. " What if you got a job somewhere else? Then you wouldn't be around that other stuff and you could get a job to put you where you want to be." She was quickly running out of ideas and she hated the fact that she couldn't help her friend.

"Not many people are willing to hire a 12 year old, least not that I've been able to find...she would probably make me work after I got back anyways." Attor huffed a bit wishing things could be better then they are. "Its ok something will work out, it always does. I'll make due with what I've got. Right Von?" Attor tried to smile a bit he could tell he was upsetting Von and that wasn't something he was trying to do.

"Of course it'll work out and like you said we're 12 not like they can hold stuff over once we're an adult. We're kids and allowed to make these mistakes now." She looked up and smiled at him hoping to help his mood as well as hers. "Plus we always have school, and a good fight when we want one." At that she playfully punched him in the shoulder. After all she was just one of the guys, unless she was around Kenny then she just felt odd.
