Surprised that this hasn't been posted yet on here. But after checking out Godlike productions to see if there was anything on it which lo' and behold there was. ( most are all keeping an eye out on an asteroid that's supposedly near or possibly other disasters on there. Some are saying it could be one of them on speculation.) There's going to be a FEMA 'test' on tv, I'm guessing local channels, at 2 PM. In this test the voice will say that it will be a test but the scroll will not. Their explanation is that they don't know how to edit into the scroll and put "this is a test...". Now I think we all know otherwise. Since they've alawys done it and have used the scrolling for years during the tests. I'm not saying that there will or won't be anything happening on this day or near it, but I'm saying that it seems rather odd. Just be sure to keep a look out and stay safe everyone. I kinda don't think much of it. Although it seems weird, a possible catastrophe would roam over the internets like wild fire. It doesn't seem like there is anything going on around this time.
Although, it does make some nice speculation.
Either way, I'm going to take that this is all just stupidity and a reason to try and spam some useless crap instead of a catastrophe.

Captain_Shinzo I kinda don't think much of it. Although it seems weird, a possible catastrophe would roam over the internets like wild fire. It doesn't seem like there is anything going on around this time.
Although, it does make some nice speculation.
Either way, I'm going to take that this is all just stupidity and a reason to try and spam some useless crap instead of a catastrophe. I wouldn't either, but never know about it. Anything could come up. There's been a few discussions on the Asteroid YU55 ( and possible companion rocks) will pass by pretty close to Earth on the 8th or 9th. : Asteroid Yu55 on course for close encounter with EarthAlso did a bit of lurking for more on the test and apparently it's not going to end with an Emergency Action Termination instead just an End of Message. I find it odd though that they're having commercials and talking about it on the news when in the past they just did it... erm atleast that's what I remember. FEMA: Nationwide EAS Test says under test reminders. Still just a heads up if something happens. Better safe than sorry, doubtful if anything happens but who knows.

what precisely is a national emergency anyway?
When have we had one of those? and if we have such a thing, why use a national emergency service, and not the media?
What the hell is so big it can effect the third largest country in the world? an asteroid? aliens? multiple nuclear strikes? zombies? world war III?
Seriously, these are events that just don't happen, and if they do happen, then we won't need a national emergency report to tell us.
This is bogus.

I don't think it's an actual threat, really. The last comet as I'm sure we remember was only in speculation was because of it's strange obstruction. This is a normal mostly carbon-based ancient asteroid from the comet belt. I doubt it's course will head straight for us.

My biggest guess is that this would be for something such as a possible pandemic. Although, we usually stumped those with ease.

Although, what confuses me is how they can guess it's path. It's coming from the path of the sun which kind of makes it hard to see until it gets pretty close, which wont be till tomorrow.

Although, my question is why people are trying to compare this asteroid to the test. That comet isn't suppose to pass till tomorrow night. The test is going to be on the 9th, correct? Well, seems like a test afterwards would be pointless if that's the relevance.

There's some speculation on a war or perhaps alien invasion, or might be New Madrid. But at this point there's really no telling what'll happen or if it's really any of those. Who knows what FEMA's agenda is for this, I was thinking the FEMA camps when I first heard of the test but that was the first thought that came to mind then started thinking maybe something to do with mind control or along those lines. At this point we can only speculate and guess what they're up to. But the question is why a test on a national level with no Emergency Action Termination and why wouldn't they put " this is a test..." in the scrolling itself. Very odd. Since people who are deaf and hard of hearing might not beable to tell that it is indeed a test when they're only having the voice say it as such.

I heard it while listening to CSPAN on XM Sirius. They said 30 seconds, but when it occured it wasn't the typical radio noise at first, it was rather startling in tone and attempted to switch back to the usual tone, but it was just kind of a "DERRRRRKSHHH EH EH" and a cut off voice saying "-is tes-" and it went back .
So in total length it was less than 10 seconds.
