Barb hadn't been out of her forested home for long. The Isles with its bright sunlight and constant change of weather wasn't exactly refreshing to the tainted mare. Food was just as crappy as all she ran into was grass. She got lucky a few times with a squirrel and maybe a hare, but for the most part creatures kept away from her. Fruits were few and far between and unlike most other azrein, Barb liked her fruit bitter which could sometimes be difficult to find. As the mare strolled she couldn't help but notice a large mass under a tree. Was it some sort of creature?
The mare felt a wicked idea flow through her mind as she turned in its direction, her tail flowing out behind her more like a lizard's than a horse's natural tail. Her clawed hooves slightly scratched at the ground as she slunk up on the creature taking note of its feature. It was moving so therefore it must be breathing. The coloration and pattern it sported was interesting and reminded her much of her own, but the body was strange. It was only when it shifted to get more comfortable did she realize that the body was mostly covered by some sort of appendage..like a wing. Her eyes traced it to see the wing claws at the back that were interlocked like fingers together. With a bit of a smirk, she reached out with her nose to gently touch what she thought was the head end of the creature...

D'mitri had flown all night to get back to a familiar place. One that preferably didn't house a crazy mare hellbent on world domination. Why on earth did he make her that promise when he knew he would probably break it sooner or later. But he would give her a fair chance to become something, like he said he would. His eyes remained focused on the area in front of him with a few passing glances now and again underneath him.
He slowed as he noticed a tree that seemed to offer some sort of refuge. He would rest here for the moment before continuing on his journey. D'mitri landed roughly on the ground, as per usual, and shook his body and wings to relax before stretching them one more time. He trotted over to the base of the tree tiredly as his body felt the urge to sleep. Worse yet, he hadn't fed in a while. A long while. With a sigh, he turned a few times before settling himself down on the grassy ground. His tail curled a little around him, feet tucked underneath as his wings formed some sort of canopy around him to block the light from his eyes. From what he had seen, there was no one within miles to bother him. He had just dozed off when a nose poked his neck. He thought nothing of it as he tried to go back to sleep but whatever it was continued to pester him so. With a snarl, he opened up his outermost wing and glared at the intruder....right in her red eyes.
She was a freak, his immediate thought. And yet who was he to say such a thing. But her smile was so..wicked. Was she another crazed fae? What was his attraction to these...mares. Dare he call them something else? D'mitri snorted as he curled his wing back against his frame, his neck still erected half glaring, half gazing at the mare in front of him. "What do you want?" He finally growled revealing sharpened teeth to her delicate little fangs.

The mare was having too much fun poking at the thing that wouldn't move. She wondered maybe if she kicked its a** end it would move then. But her joy was soon spoiled when it actually awoke. And the it turned out to be a he as he moved his wing out of the way. Her eyes traveled the body that was revealed to her before she finally met his light green gaze. Such a brooder! The mare gave a giggle flicking her tail behind her as they stood there staring at each other in comfortable silence. When he spoke, she jumped a little in excitement, a smirk on her lips. "I wanted to talk!" She proclaimed staring at him with increased interest. "Besides you are kinda sticking out like a sore thumb out here in the middle of land with sparse trees. Were you sleeping?" The wind brushed up against her body, the sensation making her feel tingly.
Barb was curious as to why this male was by himself. Did he not have a herd he came with? It was possible that he allowed himself to be shunned all the way out here in the middle of nowhere. Or maybe he preferred the solitude and comfort of being alone. Barb knew what it was like to have some alone time for herself, but she was always so used to having her twin or at least one of her cousins around. Being out her by herself was...strange. Probably why she was having so much fun poking and prodding at this stranger. And he definitely wasn't bad to look at either. The horn on his nose was kinda cute and his hair was so messy it went with his feral look. However, his eyes were so complex that she was having a hard time reading them. A very hard time. This male was going to be so much fun!

D'mitri sighed as she explained herself to him. Oh. All she wanted to to was talk? Lovely. Perfect. Ruin his nap for nothing but to sate her curiosity. "Stranger things have happened.." he muttered to himself thinking about Nina and her equal amount of idiocy. The large male sighed a little looking back toward the female. "Talking usually leads to bad things sometimes. At least in my experience." His eyes gazed across her form more out of curiosity than anything else. He wondered if those thorns and barbs of hers on her body were poisonous. She looked poisonous and at the very least dangerous. Maybe her lack of intelligence was just an act. She could just be putting on airs.
The stallion eyed her. Did she really just say he stuck out like a sore thumb? Oh no thank you. "I think you aren't the one that should be talking." He quipped back revealing his fanged teeth to her yet again. She obviously didn't get the point as she seemed to dance around him with her eyes. Blunt, rash, and obviously oblivious to anything around her. But her red eyes were hiding something. She was a hard read for the more inner truths. "Yes, I was sleeping. I suppose I won't be getting any sleep with you here, am I?"

Barb stuck out her tongue at the male. He seemed all dark and drab! And here she thought she could have some fun with him. Maybe there was something she could salvage. Her ears perked forward trying to catch what he said to begin with, her neck craning her head forward so she could get a closer look at him. Then his voice boomed again with a darkness that made her shudder. "Talking also leads to things that can open opportunities." She snuffed back turning her body a little in order to stretch as well as show off, her tail flapping a little, crest waving as it did so before coming to rest again.
"Really? I shouldn't be talking? At least I do! Because I look like you doesn't mean that I can't be proud of myself, the monster that I am." The mare snorted digging her clawed hooves into the ground as if to reiterate her point. Barb was no one's property or slave and she refused to be. Her spikes on her thighs and shoulders slightly rattled against each other to match her mood as red eyes studied him. It finally got to her that he had fangs. And not just two of them - his whole mouth was dotted with them like some sort of carnivorous being. And would she expect anything else of him? He was obviously strong, a hunter, and his form was built for taking down large prey.
Prey...food. Barb's mind began to tick a little as she thought, halfway hearing what he complained. She only caught the last bit as she tilted her head to look at him, her facial expression going from an angered grimace to an intrigued grin. "No, you won't. Because we are going to get food." She said turning aside to began her trot toward the forests. "Come come, no saying no. We are going hunting!"

This female was becoming more intolerable by the second. She was brash, spoke without heeding consequences, and was just damn right annoying. However, she made points and he couldn't really argue with her. Much. He'd try to however as his til slapped the grass ground behind him in mostly agitation. His eyes betrayed him as they roamed her body when she moved. Her spikes were interesting as well as her webbing and other sort of abnormalities that dotted her form. Her hooves were most interesting for they were much like his own but in fact had claws attached to them. Would it be better in a fight he silently wondered to himself flicking his head to get the hair from his face so he could study her more closely. Which in fact was all he was doing. Studying. He mentally bashed the term in his mind so not to get distracted by anything else that could possibly set him astray.
'The Monster that I am.' Her words rang out to his mind completely distracting him from his observations. Was she trying to hit a nerve? It wasn't that he was ashamed of himself, but rather he knew better than to get mixed up with those that weren't like him. That kind of talk got attention - good or bad. She should be more careful of how she displayed herself to the others. No telling what sort of devious plots could be done against her. He noticed that she was staring at his teeth whenever he bared them which made him feel, truthfully, self-conscious. He made mental notes not to reveal them in attempt that she question his feeding habits.
It seemed as though she had finally subsided. Good. He could curl back and go to sleep. His dream was soon shattered as the female chatted on about food. Wait. Food? It was true, D'mitri hadn't eaten since...well for a while. His body was in need of extreme nourishment that was for certain. But her idea of food and his idea of food might be totally different...that was, until she said the 'h' word. Hunting. No one else used that term for most of the Azrein around were herbivores - grass eaters. He should have guessed her to be something else, however as she began trotting toward the forest edge.
D'mitri hesitated a moment before forcing himself to stand, legs and wings yet again being stretched for movement. He was tired, but hunger usually outweighed the need for rest. He walked along after her, green eyes studying how she moved her body. It was interesting how her shoulder and rump spikes had the ability to move whereas the others did not. Were they for decoration perhaps? She certainly was interesting as was her webbing on each of her legs. And yet she showed no signs of aquatic uses. D'mitri took a moment to see that he was lagging behind and with a quick kick took a few long strides to catch up with her. She was faster than she looked for she appeared to be bigger than most females. Strange...could he be sure that she was not from his world?

She was hitting nerves - that was for certain. And Barb meant to. Gauging this brother was a way for her to understand his kind for he was obviously different from the others she was told by her family to expect. It would appear that Barb would need to keep him closer than she first thought. Her tail waved behind her gently as she moved, her eyes remaining on his form as she took him in. The wings covered more than she liked, but it was quite obvious that he was strong in body and possibly in mind.
Barb was afraid that she had lost him for in an instant his eyes went in a glaze as he seemed to stare at nothing. Was he one of the crazies? She dared to hope not for someone such as him could be useful to her family and to her cause. And by the looks of it, he would be perfect. He had wings and he was strong. He could guard them as they slept as well as help them find food and possibly be used to persuade others to join their cause. And why not? She guessed that he too had been wronged by humans and it wouldn't be a surprise if he were to want vengeance against them. And why wouldn't want vengeance against the two-legged insects that infected their home?
The female continued to walk on, but slowly making sure each step was staged so that it didn't appear that she was waiting. As he stood up, a fire gleaned in her eyes turning to watch him. Oh he was downright gorgeous! Muscles moved under shoulders and hinds, his hooves large and back quite wide. His neck was thick to hold up that head of his and his horn appeared formidable. He'd certainly fit right in with the family for he had both hair and reptilian like qualities that she held so dear to her own. Barb began to wonder if he was part of a distant family instead of being so terribly different from kind. Maybe he was searching for something else that she could use to her advantage...
As he caught up, she gave a bit of a smirk looking at him from the side as the strolled toward the forest. "Saw something you like?" The mare teased moving her tail to playfully slap at his thigh. "Don't be so stiff, Dragon. I am sure we can get along." She began thinking for a moment before turning to ask him the age old question. "What do you call yourself? Also, what exactly is there to hunt in these woods? I'm new to these parts and I'd rather have something with...meat on the bones if you know what I mean." Barb's appetite was that of an omnivore, but she dare not eat flora over fauna. Meat was a primary choice in her family and it was one that her body had grown accustomed to. She would dare not lax in that respect as her need for food grew as they got closer to the forest. Her nostrils opened and flared in an attempt to catch the scent of a prey beast. She was hoping for maybe a rabbit or even as close to a deer if those could be found. In any case, she'd take what she could get.

Why? Why was he here with this...female? Why was he giving in to his primal needs of food rather than leaving her? Because it would look like he was running. And D'mitri was stubborn. He refused to run. Didn't want to. Especially from this wacko mare. His nostrils flared which caused her scent to linger in his nose. He stopped for a moment to analyze it in his mind. The smell was familiar to him. But he hadn't had this smell since...a long time ago. He stopped for a moment before continuing on to follow her, his tail flicking out behind him.
At her risque comment, he gave a short snort and growl. "There is nothing I like save for some food in my belly." His ears lay flat against his skull as if daring her to try something one more time. He rolled his eyes at her. Get along? Really? How could he got along with the likes of her? The male gave a brief snort as they slipped into the edge of the woods. His green eyes kept a look out for anything that could feed him with her in the back of his mind. It was odd that he was even thinking about her anyway. However, he had to realize that now they were attempting to take down prey in the woods, he would need her help to bring it down. Most animals around these parts could deal with azrein since most didn't eat them. However, prey beast knew when to pick up the scent of predators, and both he and his 'companion' stank of it.
She broke the ice when asked his name. He kept silent for a while before choosing to answer the latter part of her question. "Pig. Wild pig here in these woods. They come out at odd times though. Could never get that right. They have horns and nasty tempers. Especially the female with her young." D'mitri had watched his prey long enough to know that the pig was in fact a dangerous and unpredictable animal. It could also cause some serious damage with its horns that protruded from the mouth. Scary as they seemed, they were still stupid animals that he could outwit and use for food. Pig wouldn't be bad right now and neither would some fruit if he could find some. "Also, to your first question...you'll find out soon enough." And he meant that. He had never told anyone his true name save for those that proved themselves good enough to claim it. D'mitri decided that he would use this hunting experience as an exercise to figure out whether or not she was worthy of his time.

Her laughter was ringing through his mind as they trotted through the forests. She was smart enough not to speak out loud at this point. Doing so would only frighten their prey. He was quite the stubborn one, she would admit that. He was so guarded too. And strange enough he endured her presence it seemed and even attempted at conversation. Amazing! Her tail flicked and waved behind her as they maneuvered through the brush. Her nostrils flared as she picked up on what he said. Pig. She hadn't had that type of meat yet. Maybe it would prove for a challenge for her.
And it was a let down. He didn't give her his name. Phooey! "Well, all right then, Dragon. I suppose that'll be your name for now." She gave him a glance with red eyes before turning back toward ahead. There was probably a wild pig in here somewhere. Maybe they would get lucky and find one! The pair had crossed some rabbits and even a few squirrels who came dangerously close to her fanged maw, but she was out for this pig that he spoke of. Her mouth slightly watered at the challenge this meal would bring.
Barb came forward slowly as she saw a sudden movement in the brush. There was a medium sized brown thing rutting its head in the ground. The mare came forward extremely slow for the mare found it hard to crouch. She wasn't a natural predator like a cat or a canine, but she could use the element of surprise to her advantage no less. And hooves were always a great tool anyway. She looked toward the male for confirmation as she began to set a wide perimeter around the pig. Her nostrils flared taking in the scent and was surprised to find a few close others as well. Was this the fabled female and her young? It would be quite interesting to see how she would react to animals that naturally ate grass and wheat. Barb felt the excitement in her quicken, her heart thumping hard against her chest and her eyes alive. Finally some hunting action! She would enjoy in this deed this day. Barb came ever so closer not really paying attention to him anymore. She would be in charge of this hunt for she suggested it in the first place.
Her steps were light as she snaked her way ever so closer to the small little group. Her eyes fell on the mother and noticed the dangerously sharp tusks of her mouth. The Dragon was right to warn her of such things. She kept that in mind wondering how hard it would be to take this beast down. Barb also began to wonder if she could charge it back with her own horns as small as they were. Her tail balanced her as she continued to move, crouching as low as she could. The mare's nostrils flared again taking in the stink scent of food. She would dine well if this hunt was a success. She'd rather not think of the negatives.

D'mitri watched her carefully as they made their way deeper into the brush. It slightly shocked him to hear her voice in his mind. Then again they were hunting and any sort of verbal communication would only alert the prey that hunters were about. He'd at least have to give her points for being smarter than she looked.
As they came closer, he stopped when heard the familiar sounds of a sow looking for food. His nostrils flared taking in the scent of the wild animal, his stomach beginning to knot with hunger. His eyes quickly dashed toward Barb who was already setting up a hunting perimeter and flanking position. So she had done this dance before it seemed. He tucked his wings against his body as he slowly came forward, his teeth bared a little, nostrils wide. His eyes caught the movement of small young scurrying about their mother. This would be harder than D'mitri though. However, if his hunting partner were up to the task, then he might as well be ready for anything. D'mitri held his breath as he came closer and closer until he was just upon the pig. The female looked up for a brief moment and then back down to what she was doing not paying the equine creature any mind. It was only when D'mitri snatched up one of her young did the sow retaliate.
The draco-azrein held onto a plump piglet as it squealed and struggled in his maw. His teeth clamped down harder as the blood oozed into his mouth and onto the ground. He reared up quickly as the sow charged him aiming to get her child back. One of her tusks grazed his back leg as she blindly ran forward. He snorted landing back down on his feet and wheeling to face the mother, piglet still in his maw. She charged again, but this time D'mitri dropped the wounded offspring and charged back at the pig. His small horn rammed into her sending her flying a few feet back. She quickly rolled over and charged again to which D'mitri reared and slammed his hooves down. A sickening crunch was heard as hoof and bone met. The sow squealed and called out as her head thrashed, horns cutting into D'mitri's legs. He waited until the female barely moved and without hesitation he snapped his head down feeding from the still alive animal. His teeth tore through sensitive but tough hide. He'd feed from his other kill later. His mind wasn't on Barb for his belly demanded his attentions now.

Barb carefully watched how D'mitri came upon the food. He was careful, but it shocked her how close he got. The pig saw the stallion, but thought nothing of him it seemed. Only when he snapped up one of her piglets did she freak. It was then that her babies started to scurry away. Barb took it as her chance to claim one. She immediately leaped forward stopping three piglets in their tracks. They oinked and squealed in fear trying for another direction away from D'mitri and Barb. The mare smirked as she snapped her head down to catch one of the babies.
She was surprised to snap on her own teeth, however. These piglets were faster than she anticipated. The mare quickly turned chasing two that were left running together. Having longer legs, her strides helped her catch up. She rammed one with her snout causing it to fall over on its side. As the piglet tried to get up, Barb quickly snapped down with her maw, the others scampering into the forest. Her luck it seemed gave her the runt of the litter as she chewed on the thing while it was still alive. Barb turned her body and snorted trotting back toward the main area where D'mitri was already feeding on the sow. Trampled bushes and evidence of the fight was everywhere. Barb also noticed that D'mitri was bleeding on his lower legs. Yet his ravenous appetite didn't allow pain to get in the way. Barb lowered her food beside his and trotted toward him. She came from the other side so that he could see her and started feeding on the lower end of the now dead sow. D'mitri seemed a little annoyed at first it seemed, but he did nothing to stop Barb from joining him. The mare ate fiercely tearing at chunks of muscle and even gnawing on a bone before tossing it to the side. The mare only ate a flank to herself before trotting away to eat her little piglet. That too she would eat with a fervor until nothing was left but hair, bones, and bits of cartilage that she found disgusting. For now the mare's hunger was satiated. For now, it was for her to wait until the lead hunter was done. Maybe she'd finally earn enough respect for him to speak to her like she was something rather than nothing. He would also make a fine addition to the "family". If only she could convince him to give in however. That would take a lot more planning it seemed. Something she wasn't used to at all.

He only looked up when the mare made her presence known in front of him. The stallion stopped feeding baring fangs as she lowered her head to feed with him. It was then that he noticed her own kill to the side. The idiot mare hadn't exactly perfected her technique it seemed, but at least she got some sort of meal in her belly. She tried and it seemed as though she was a lot more successful at keeping herself whole than he did. But then again she was after piglets....
His mind wandered as she fed watching her take what was hers and then going over to her private corner. He had to give it to her: she was a hunter just like him. Her appetite was even more ravenous which made things all the more...bearable. And D'mitri couldn't help but see that she was..alluring. Even sexy when she was eating. It made his skin shiver. He had...never been with a female before...none could bear his presence. And yet...she was...well she was craving it it seemed. As he finished, she came forward finished with her own meal. His eyes roamed her form attempting to hide his want. "My name is D'mitri...and you?" He tilted his head a little, blood dripping from his mouth and also from the wounds on his legs. They stung, but he paid little heed to them.

Barb had been thinking in her brain how to deal with him. He was strong, independent, and seemed intelligent enough. He would do well with their cause and as soon as the rest of her family got here, they would fully integrate him into their little society. It's getting him there that would be the challenge. She quickly finished stepping back over to him. For a brief moment their eyes met and it gave Barb quite the idea.
If she couldn't have him, she would have the next best thing - duplicates. Her own body started to shiver with the idea of mating with this male. He was impressive to say the least, and she could only imagine what kind of foals she would birth with a mix of their traits. They would be strong - she wouldn't doubt that. But could she convince him enough to let his primal urge come forward? Her tail waved a little as she moved purposefully now to seduce him. Her eyes glazed over, muscles quivered, tail slightly held upward flicking a little showing as much of her body as she could to him. "Ah. You speak, Dragon!" She teased waggling her eyebrows giving a gentle hiss, her tongue licking over her bloodied maw. "The pig was an experience. It was good. I enjoyed the hunt with you. My name is Barb." Her thorns on her sides rattled a little as she pawed at the ground as if to emphasize her name was as dangerous as she was. "I like Dragon better though." Barb gave a wide grin coming a little closer admiring his built and his massive wings. Oh he was delicious..

D'mitri was caught off guard. She had come closer and his nostrils immediately took in her scent. Mixed with the blood of her kill and the sweat of her labor, it was exotic. He took in another deep breath taking all of his will not to take her right there. D'mitri shook his head a little closing his eyes and opening them as he watched her move with...purpose. He wasn't that stupid, but this was still making it hard on him.
"Yes..the taste is different...very refreshing..." He licked his teeth lifting his lips a little to reveal them. His body tensed slightly. "But...I am glad you say it is worth it..." D'mitri eyed her for a moment longer stretching his frame and wings a little to relax them from their locked position on his sides. His ears perked forward listening to her intently now. "Call me what you will then, Barb. Whatever is easier on you..." There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice as he resisted the urge to back away as she came closer. His wings came forward a little to engulf around her for a moment, a small grin forming on his maw. My she was growing ever so interesting by the second...ever so...closer...Should he dare? D'mitri was arguing with himself as his green eyes stared into her reds.

He was faltering...Barb could see that. She continued her little dance in front of him moving her body as if to stretch from the long winded hunt. It did indeed tire her, but not as much as she had let on. His eyes watched her hungrily making it all the more sweeter. She was getting to him...thank the Fates that her natural charms could still work out of heat season. Barb dare to go closer, her tail brushing against his sensitive wing membranes as they came from beside him to around her a little. She would be lying if she said it didn't surprise her, but she couldn't let him know that...
"Oh the feeding was much, much worth it. I enjoyed every single bite." Her voice dripped with a venom as her nose came forward, her tongue licking a little bit of blood that he had missed on his maw. She saw him shudder and closer his eyes as if controlling himself. Oh she was almost there! So close to her prize. Barb thought this was going to be harder, but it seemed as though she picked the right time. His hunger had been sated, and it seemed as though he hadn't been with a female in a while. D'mitri must be in some sort of in need from the giant contrast of his personality from earlier. Was it her same carnal needs that he had that enticed him? Barb dare not ask for his story, however. It would complicate her mission and her goal. She intended for the offspring of this union not to find their father. What use would it be? They would be hers and hers alone.
Barb came further forward closer to him as they stood in the battered area of their brutal, carnage hunt. It was perfect...a warm meal in their bellies and only each other to keep them company. Barb took the risk and brushed her body against his front curling around him fairly easily, her neck arched upward as her spines scratched playfully against his skin. She could feel the growl emitting from his throat in response. The mare found herself with most of her body back toward him, her head tilted over her shoulder searching for his gaze. If only she could lock it...
