Days passed. Roch spent most of them in his room, or the cafeteria, eating and resting. It was only the third day that he woke up, feeling like himself again. He woke up on his stomach, Clef and Jackdammit lounging around his legs. He looked over his shoulder at them before gingerly getting free, smiling at the sprite conked out on the arm rest next to his head, and heading to see if anything else had changed while he'd been asleep. His allowance was on his desk. It brought back to mind everything that he'd been planning before leaving, and Roch grabbed it as soon as he was dressed, shoving it into his wallet and heading for the door. Along the way he pulled out his phone and typed a short message to Amrita. Quote: >Got my allowance, up to go buy the fish? I'm coming over, regardless ~Roch Then he headed for the Undead dorm. Spending time with Amrita... he needed it, he figured.

Much like Roch, Amrita had spent the days following the trip mostly in her room. The Cafeteria and Eating things had been ignored, partially because she was undead and didn't really did too, but partially because she couldn't move. Her FEAR had been knocked down and restored one too many times over the course of the trip, and once she was allowed to rest, the corpse she was piloting had just enough enough of being manhandled and set to go into rigor for an unnatural length of time.
It wasn't the first time she'd been trapped in her body with nothing to stare at but the back of her eyelids, and it wouldn't be her last.
The day Roch texted her was the day she was finally able to move her limbs, albeit stiffly. In the wee hours of that morning she managed to get up off the floor, to clean the leaks from her wounds and patches, and was just finishing tidying herself up a little bit. She saw the text, but she saw it at the same time the knock came to her door.
Her response? To give a yelp of complete surprise and lose her balance, hitting the cement ground with little more than a quiet ooof. A moment or two of silence followed, and then finally a meek voice, hesitant to say anything.
"R-Roch...?" She guessed, recalling the text.

"Yeah, Amrita, it's me," he called through the door. "You okay? Hey, if you don't wanna go fish shopping I can go on my own--" He hesitantly reached for the doorknob. "Can I come in?"

...Was she okay? That was a loaded question.
"Err...sure." She said instead, to most of his questions. Meanwhile she worked to try and get back up, her still stiff joints making it difficult to move fast right away. As the door creeked open she was struggling to her backwards feet, clinging to her bed to use it as leverage. She stared up at the Reaper sheepishly, trying to pretend it wasn't an uphill battle to stand again.
"Um..Y-you...look good. Um. How...are you?" Almost, almost on her own feet! Once she was there she'd be fine, just the whole sitting and standing thing didn't go over so well.

He crossed the room in a second, reaching to help her get to her feet. "You're not up to going," he said. "I should go by myself. but... it can wait," he said. He looked her over closely, a frown pulling at his lips. "I know you took a real beating, but... didn't someone sew you up? Shouldn't it be easier to move by now?"
He didn't understand patchworks all that well, really. That showed pretty clearly.

"Naawwwww I'm f-fine!" She lied, not very convincingly whatsoever. "It's just, standing is hard right now..." She got to her feet with his help, and as she suspected it was much easier to move. His arm received a pat before she crossed the room, taking a hair clip to tie her hair back...purposely avoiding answering the question right away.
"Err...I can move just fine, just...the body doesn't want to anymore." She explained lamely, trying to talk under her breath so she technically wasn't not-answering; she did so hate being rude. "I'm winning though, I-I promise!" The squeak and the stumble she made was reassuring, but she caught herself on her desk before she could ruin the whole standing thing.
"Y-You wanna go get the fish? I'd...I'd love to come!" She was trying to keep herself moving, forcing her limbs out of atrophy, and just all around being busy.

For a reaper, he had excellent hearing. So... she was fighting her body to keep moving, huh? Okay. Then a walk was exactly what she needed, he decided. "We'll go slow. I'm kind of recovering still, too," he admitted. "Just a little. Just... don't slap me on the back or anything. But..." He held out a hand. "Maybe I can help you keep your balance?"

Amrita grinned as he told her not to slap him; she almost laughed, almost, but she hardly ever laughed. She was many things, but an avid giggler was not one of them.
"Roch, you came back, I don't have a reason to hit you." She assured him, stiffly draping the strap to a bag over her shoulder before moving towards him, taking his hand with her reversed one. "I'm...also sorry, for, um...th-threatening you." The ghoul added sheepishly, looking everywhere but up at him. "S-so...gonna get the fish today, h-hmm?"

"Yeah," he said, grinning again as they started out of her room, which was freakin' freezing, he thought, forcing himself not to shiver. No wonder she was so stiff. "I got my allowance today. The old man's a real jerk, but lately he's been really regular sending me money. I think--" He hesitated, then shrugged. "I guess I can sort of understand why he doesn't want to send me too much."
He helped her the best he could, shifting and turning so he provided the best support as they headed up the stairs and outside. "I've been looking forward to this," he said, grinning at her. "But today's the first day I've felt..." He shrugged, as if it was self explanatory.

"At least he loves you enough to send you things." Amrita said slowly, a ghost of a smile on her lips and a light pat to his arm. "Why?" She didn't understand why he understoof the small amounts; she didn't think Roch was irresponsible with his spending, but she didn't really know him well. The stairs to the main floor was a hassle, but the last few steps were easier than the first few, indicating that she was slowly but surely loosening up.
"I'm glad, It's good to have something to look forward to!" She was still hurting on the inside, but getting up and moving was a good way to start getting better; helping her friend get his dream fish was even better, or so she imagined. It was a good thing, in her opinion. "I'll see if they have new Floresce fish!" Amrita decided; fish made her happy, why not have one more?

"Sounds like a plan," he said, cheering up with each step. He was about to get him. The freakin' love at first sight fish. Gorgeous, smooth moving, it was--"jackdamn, I can't wait to see him again," he said. "I'm going to have to do a bit of work, getting the others used to him, but I've got an insert to keep them separated for a bit, you know, till they realize they'll be fed regularly."
He was practically skipping, considering how roughed up he was. Then he went quiet. "I didn't go to Red's ceremony. There were too many jackin' boogies."

Amrita smiled another small smile; his happier tone was uplifting, and she really did need to hear something that wasn't screaming, crying, or overly stressful. "You're very good with the fishies~" She commented idly; she never slowly introduced her new fish to her old fish...but then again, the Floresce commons were dull and not aggressive whatsoever.
"I wish I could have gone." Amrita admitted, bowing her head for a moment. "I really, really do." Sadly, her limbs had other things planned. But there was one thing that caught her attention, and it was that last murmured comment. For whatever reason it brought back the memory of the night she chased him through town, where he was down on himself for being a punk...whatever that was.
"What happened? Um, y-you know, to make you not like boogeymen...?"

"They don't like me, either, if it makes you feel better," Roch said with a shrug. "I'm not that good a guy, Amrita, I've done a lot of stuff that I probably shouldn't have. And they know about some of it."
He smiled at her, shrugging. "We're probably being watched right now," he admitted. "Which pisses me off. And is another reason I shouldn't have brought you... but..." he gave her a rueful look. "I wanted you to be there when I got him."

Amrita's lips practically flatlined again.
"You're not allowed to worry about me like that!" She informed him, trying to look as seriously threatening as possible which, for the record, only actually worked when she was in grave danger. "I'm not doing anything wrong by walking and talking with my friend! And you're not doing anything wrong either." The Vetala did take a look around for good measure, but nothing stood out to her as boogeymen were here.
"I don't know w-what you did, Roch, but I don't think it's as bad as you're trying to make me think it is." Her flatlining lips turned into a pout this time, the corners pulling down unhappily. With a shake of her head, she gave a sigh and gently leaned her temple against his upper arm, the only thing she could reach. "But I'm...very happy you wanted me to come with you." She admitted, touched by this power of friendship.

His hand tightened slightly on hers. "I tried to mug Johnny Danger when we got home," he told her, just to see how she reacted. "I wanted his pants. I was stuck in boxers, remember? It's amazing they didn't cart me off there, but I was FREEZING and he's a d**k."
