There were perks that came to being a Dark Mirror Senshi that Remarque intended to utilize without spending all his time gathering energy. Not that he’d been slacking—he had, in fact, been working very hard. But he just didn’t feel like actually working right now.
As soon as he found out Lesath had some time tonight, he’d tossed around an idea of meeting up tonight—screwing around some and then maybe heading out to collect some energy. Midnight was still early for him, but late enough that the museum was locked up and completely cleared out.
Admittedly, he’d been excited at the idea of prowling the hallways with no one else there. He’d come to the museum on many occasions in broad daylight, but it was almost like some childish fantasy to come play here when no one was around to tell him what to do or to get away from any of the artifacts.
There was a large mirror in the lobby—one he was very familiar with. It had been easy to imagine it in his head, and he’d been practicing this enough that the cold rush that came with walking through the mirror no longer took his breath away. He’d been seven minutes early—perhaps a bit too eager to go look at the new exhibits they were still setting up.
He couldn’t blame Lesath for not already being here, waiting for him, but that didn’t stop him from pacing in the lobby, tapping his foot impatiently and looking up at the large clock that hung over the locked doors.

Lesath was late. She was almost fifteen minutes late, but it wasn’t her fault. Not by a long shot. Mirror walking was still confusing to her, she hadn’t managed to pick it up right away like some people seemed to. That coupled with the fact she had seen the mirror she was supposed to be going to a few times, but it was kind of fuzzy in her memory.
Finally though, she walked out of the mirror, shaking herself to get rid of the sensation. “Remarque?” Her voice was soft, habit, most likely, after all, this was a museum, so normally people weren’t allowed to talk very loudly.
She hoped he hadn’t left because of her idiocy. “Are you still here? I finally got here…” She wasn't normally the late one to things...but this time things just kept going wrong.

The only reason Remarque had stayed so long was so that he could see the look in Lesath's face when she showed up. He was only going to give her another two minutes before he just decided, 'Hey, ******** it,' and left; he was quite irritated already.
"Oh. You finally decided to show up," he said, pushing himself up. He'd gotten tired of pacing and taken a seat in one of the chairs. "I thought you'd gone and forgotten we had plans or something," he male muttered, walking towards her.
He was glad that she was here--it meant that they could finally go poke around where they didn't belong and he could get his first chance to see new exhibits. "What took you so long?" he demanded when he stood by her, hands on his hips as he looked down a the blonde expectantly, clearly wanting a damn good answer.

She sighed. “Sorry. Mirror Walking and I aren’t ‘bff’s’ like you seem to be with it. Also I had to remember where the mirror was…I had to dig through my parent’s crap until I found a picture of it—they had a Poe exhibit here awhile ago, and they came like every day.”
She stretched, then shook again, giving a disgusted look. “I don’t think I’ll really ever get used to mirror walking. Maybe I should practice more…” Lesath sighed then looked around. “You uh, ready to go look around. Kind of a cool idea, going to see a museum at night time. But…aren’t there sensors and crap everywhere to keep intruders out? And night guards and stuff like that?”
She didn’t think of the fact that they could easily overpower any guards that came their way…and collect their energy. Huh. The senshi blinked when that idea popped into her head, then grinned.
“Then maybe night guards are a good idea…but won’t we be on camera?”

A slow smile crept onto Remarque's face. "You watch too many movies. If there's too big of problem, we'll just mirror walk out of here, no big deal. Besides, are you really the type of girl who doesn't like being on camera?" he asked playfully, gesturing for her to come with him. He pushed open the door and held it open for her, clearly eager to get a move on. Remarque was only one step away from tapping his foot impatiently, but his eagerness to start the adventure overpowered his agitation at how long it had taken her to show up. Almost.
The museum, to his knowledge, didn't have night sensors anywhere near the doors, and so far as guards--who knew? As he leaned against the door, waiting for her, he added, "If there is a guard, we'll just drain him, no big deal. Sound good to you? But we can hope not. And, for the record. They won't look at the tape as long as we don't mess anything up. So don't be a dolt and break something, all right?"

Lesath nodded, grinning. “I can’t lie about that. I do look good on camera. And these boots don’t hurt my case any.” She looked down at the boots and her grin grew even more. She adored this outfit. It just brought out the best of all of her features, and she hoped Remarque would take notice of things like that.
If he didn’t, it was his loss.
“So, let’s get this party started, Remarque.” She moved closer to him, grinning. “I won’t break anything so long as you don’t either. This should really be fun, kind of spooky though, I guess. The museum at night. What made you choose this place? Just curious about what we’d find here?”
Though...now that they were here, she was curious as well. How would everything look in the dark...with nobody shuffling around, no stupid kids running around during field trips...hey. And this whole thing was kind of romantic. All alone with Remarque...With Jett. It was perfect.

After Lesath had walked into the hallway, he followed after her. "I like museums," he answered with a shrug, as though it were the simplest thing in the world. He'd always liked museums; being around artifacts just thrilled him, and there were things here at the museum that he could never hope to see in the shop he worked in.
"I'd always wanted to go see a museum after everyone was gone, so this seemed about as close as we could get. I come here a lot," he said with a shrug, not at all ashamed of it. "They've got a new exhibit," he said, unable to resist the slight tone of excitement slipping into his words. "It isn't released to the public yet. The museum's going to be crowded when they do release it, so I want to see what they've got so I can avoid the crowds."
...And yet, he still had plans to come visit the museum shortly after the legitimate opening of the exhibit. "What about you? Museums not your cup of tea or something?" he prompted in a tone that was just daring her to try and make fun of him for being so fond of them.

He liked museums…? Huh. She hadn’t known that about Jett…but, it was kind of cute. He wasn’t just a jerkface…and he had something he was passionate about. Lesath felt herself start to smile. “Well, I just never knew you liked museums so much. It’ll be cool to get our own personal sneak peek.”
The way he spoke about the whole adventure made her much more excited to go exploring…it was like taking a look at Christmas presents before Christmas…it was so wrong and so bad, but so much fun. A thrill. Trying to see what you could get away with before you got caught.
“No, museums aren’t normally my kind of thing, but, I do like to look at paintings…so I like art museums, but, I’m still looking forward to looking around at everything in the dark…the more you talk about it, the more exciting it seems! Let’s go see this exhibit that you want to!”
Lesath hesitated. “Maybe…when it opens to the public…we can come in the daytime…?”

Remarque tilted his head in her direction for only a second to acknowledge her words before his eyes had settled on more interesting things--artifacts that he'd seen a dozen times over already, and yet couldn't keep himself from. "Yeah, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. I was going to come anyway, if you want to join," he shrugged, and then flashed her a coy smile, finally delivering her some attention. "Sure. I wouldn't say no to company. Unless you start annoying me. Don't whine about me going to slow, I go at my own pace."
There was clearly no arguing with him about that much, at least. "If we go during the daytime, we can grab lunch, too. Museums always make me hungry."
Or maybe it was the fact that he could easily spend a few hours in one and just forgot to eat.
Either way, Remarque had agreed to a daytime visit of the museum--and tossed 'lunch' into the pot on top of it.

Leasth grinned, nodding. “It’s a date then, Remarque.” A date. Just what she always longed for. Huh. Perhaps the whole ‘Space adventure’ thing had been a good thing. It got her power and allowed her to grow closer to someone she had been crushing on for years. Yeah. It had done a lot. Even if she was cursed with going to that stupid school while she waited for her re-acceptance into DCU.
The spring semester was just around the corner after all.
She looked to Remarque. “Lead the way, Puppet boy.” Puppet boy. It seemed oddly fitting…after all, Remarque was Jett, and Jett always had seemed like someone who liked to lead situations along the way he wanted them to go.

“Ah, woman. Don’t read too much into it. I never said it was a date, so don’t you run off gossiping to all your little school friends.”
Which, to his knowledge, consisted of Mary and Darwin—and Candice, though she wasn’t exactly a part of their little group. Molly, too, though he hadn’t seen her in a while. He suspected that if wind of them going on a date fell upon those ears, he’d be in for a world of trouble; it wasn’t like the group wasn’t already protective enough of Raven. “And don’t give me stupid nicknames, or else I’ll have to start calling you some ridiculous title. And it’s either ‘Boobs’ or ‘Mothra’, so take your pick, sweetheart, otherwise let’s keep it at slightly least professional. At least while we’re on the job.”
Not exactly like this whole situation was professional; the museum clearly held his interest as much as an amusement park might hold a child’s. He knew his place around well enough, even in the darkness, and whether he said so or not, he quiet enjoyed Lesath’s company. Breaking in and loitering about the place wouldn’t have been quite as fun if he’d done it all on his own.

Lesath laughed at the statement, shaking her head and rolling her eyes. “Boobs, really? What kind of a nickname is that?” Of course that would be what she commented on. The blonde glanced down at her chest and grinned. They did look huge. It was amusing. Very, very amusing. “Listen, hot stuff. If you want to call me Boobs, go right ahead. By the way, how do you figure this is us being on the job? Where’s the idiots that we’re collecting energy from?”
She stayed close to him, not knowing the museum well at all, having only been there once, maybe twice on school trips. “No, Remarque. This seems like a pleasure trip to me, and since that’s the case, I get to choose our next midnight outing. It is only fair.”
Yeah. Ball would be in her court next time. Nothing boring. Never anything boring.
Well, maybe a little boring if she couldn’t think of something awesome by the next time the two went patrolling.

Remarque rolled his eyes and offered an exasperated, “Fine, but you’d better not pick somewhere stupid, Lesath, or I’m not going. Now, stop planning for the future and enjoy the present, you’re ruining the experience. All your rambling is ruining the mood,” he teased, giving her a playful little shove.
He turned a corner rather quickly after delivering the light push. The lack of electrical lights in the area kept it mostly dark; the drapes of the nearby windows were closed, preventing too much moonlight from filtering down the aged corridor. The shadows were dark and deep, and the silence of the museum just made it seem all the more eerie.
Remarque wasn’t worried about that when he disappeared from sight around the corner, rather enjoying making a game out of all of this. He was certainly a little more playful than usual; apparently the way to get him to open up was to take him to a museum and let him run around in the dark.

She blinked, then gave another laugh, running after him. “Are we playing hide-and-seek now, Remarque? It’s so dark in here.”
Lesath gave a little cough and glanced around, giving just a slight shiver. It was very dark indeed, completely unlike what one would think of a museum to be. No, it was kind of creepy, even. Exciting.
“Say, Remarque, what kind of exhibit is it that you wanted to see? Is it like a dinosaur or something? Ancient cursed mummy that’s going to attack and eat the whole town? That would be cool.”
Cool and completely terrifying. It would be better if that happened and Remarque had his arms around her. Yeah. That would make everything better. Creepy museum or no creepy museum. That sounded good to her.

A game of hide and seek sounded like it could be fun, but Remarque wasn’t going to jump into such childish games just yet. Besides; he didn’t want to risk the chance that Lesath bumped into something and broke a priceless artifact.
For a long moment, however, he didn’t answer; he had as many options as he wanted. He could come back over and chat with her, or just sneak off in to the darkness, or, his favorite: being a complete a*****e.
He watched the silhouette of her figure and waited until she was close to him; he crept, quietly, mindful not to step on any of the squeaky floorboards. He drew in a slow, quiet breath before he leaned foreword. He waited until his lips were only an inch or so away from her face before he released his breath in a powerful gust—right into her ear.
