With his new rank, Ilmenite probably should have been finding something better to do with himself. He should have been consulting with lower ranking officers and shaking them down for energy, instead of collecting it himself. He should have been working to organize. He should have been recruiting.
Instead, here he was, settled into an alley in what Zink had established as BMC territory. The spray paint curled in his right hand was neon green, and perfectly matched the fresh stencil on the wall in front of him, reading in rough block, "Chaos is a friend of mine."
It was sloppy, but better than he'd been doing. The same slogan was up all over this area now, some of them hopelessly drippy with lines streaking down into nooks and crannies, others a bit cleaned up. The pristine white of his gloves was now splotched and speckled with that same lime green, and Ilmenite scowled as he looked down at it, the shiny brim of his hat hiding his features.
He shook out the stencil and slipped it back into his bag, swinging it up onto one shoulder to head for the mouth of the alley and onto the next stop.

Blood Moon Court territory in Destiny City was nothing if not familiar for Sailor Leto. It seemed that the habit of patrolling the area had not died with her turning to Chaos and the Dark Mirror Court and she had found it rather surprising that she had never run into any of her old teammates as she scaled the rooftops.
She did, however, sense an incredibly strong Chaos aura in the area. Someone stronger than her in Blood Moon territory? Besides Ares, she didn't think many came by here- and that aura was definitely not Ares. Curious, Leto hopped from rooftop to rooftop until she found him. A General that she had never met, spraying neon green graffiti. Wasn't that how she nearly got killed by Tanzanite months ago? She shuddered at the thought, watching the agent in silence. Figuring that he would be aware of her aura regardless, she dropped down into the darkness of the alley when he turned to leave the alley.
"I hear Blood Mooners patrol these areas," she said as she stepped out of the dark confines of the back of the alley, taking a few steps towards him.
He was an agent that she hadn't met yet, and while she was lucky that the few she'd encountered so far had been friendly, she didn't really wanna ******** with a General.

His head didn't come up until her feet hit the ground, but that didn't mean Ilmenite was surprised, no. Part of the point of this was to attract enemy attention, and he wasn't stupid enough to get flat footed while he was there. Even the bag over his shoulder, filled with spray paint and stencils, could serve as a small weapon under desperate circumstances...
He hadn't, however, taken the time to notice much beyond 'chaos' in the aura. He hadn't focused enough, after that point, to be fully prepared for the girl who settled in front of him, the bows and the skirt. He looked up, and he'd recognize Leto at the same time she recognized him, familiar face in a fresh uniform.
Ilmenite made a faint sound, relaxing despite himself and shrugging as he kept moving, obviously expecting her to tag along. "Well, yeah. That's the idea."

Her eyes widened slightly when Ilmenite turned and their eyes met. Well, she was looking up at the much taller General, but still. Apparently in the time that had passed since she helped him bring his Youma to space, Ilmenite had gone from captain to General. Huh.
"Grats on the power-up," she said as she fell in line next to him as they walked.
"So now Negas are purposefully taunting Blood Mooners?" She raised an eyebrow at him. "Is that really a good idea? Obviously since Ares is on your side now there's much less of a risk..." She trailed off for a moment. "Just, y'know, the whole torturing-and-killing thing. Unless they've all become pussies recently."
Her shoulders rolled with a slight shrug as they walked. She wasn't entirely sure if Ilmenite knew that she was a part of Operation Rota, but that wasn't information she often divulged to Negaverse Agents randomly, unless they asked. So unless otherwise prompted, she happily played dumb.

Not a clue about her personally but -- well, she'd been BMC. He had to have at least some idea of what she'd done. Like her, however, he didn't bring it up. No use dwelling on the past. That had served him well so far.
She was digging, and it did get a brief sound, his eyes flicking sideways in her direction, fingers shifting slowly around his bag. Instead of taking offense, though, it made Ilmenite quirk a smile, both of his eyebrows hiked. "Pussies? No, I just hear a lot of them joined our team. Or didn't you get the memo?"
One step out on the street and then he hesitated, halfway turning back toward her. "...I don't know what the Negaverse is doing about them. This is just what I'm doing. My current life goal is to punch Birhan Istat in the teeth."

She laughed at his question of getting the memo. "Definitely got the memo. If you consider 4 of us as a lot..." The sentence trailed off. To be entirely honest, she didn't have a clue if the Blood Moon Court was still functioning, or if they were taking on new recruits and training them to be fighting machines like they had her.
Leto's eyebrows raised. "That's a hell of a life goal, dude. Got a grudge with Birhan? I mean, I'm not her biggest fan, don't get me wrong." She wasn't at all involved in the Blood Moon Court's latest stint with the Negaverse as she withdrew herself from the entire thing when she learned it was being led by Birhan instead of Ares. Actually, she was pretty clueless to the entire thing so she didn't understand why he had such beef with that Senshi in particular.
She did, however, know all about wanting to punch certain Blood Mooners in the teeth. "I'd like to get my hands on Gunn, myself. b***h tried to set me on fire in space."

"If you hate Gunn, you should chat with General Wolframite." He shrugged, peering down at her as he started for the next alley -- not far, of course, and she was more than welcome to come along. When he dropped the bag at his feet, he'd even offer her a stencil and a can of paint. This one was red, and the message was a bit more colorful. He shook his own in one hand.
"He seemed pretty intense about wrecking her. I could get behind that, too, I guess..." A test spray left his glove even more stained, and Ilmenite pulled a face, less than thrilled. Well. What could you do.
"Hell, we can work our way through all of them. Why not?" He propped the stencil up roughly. It was really crooked. "They seem more of a problem than any of the others."

"For some reason, I highly doubt Wolframite wants to chat me." She followed him into the next alley, deciding that she would be keeping him company tonight. She took the stencil and can of spray paint and looked at them in her hands before looking up at the wall in front of her.
"Him and I aren't exactly the best of friends," she smirked and pressed the stencil to the wall, shaking her can quickly. Unlike Ilmenite, Leto couldn't care less that she was getting back-spray of red paint on her hands and fuku when she started spraying the wall. Her message would be sprayed significantly lower than the much taller General's.
"Ares wants to bring them all over," she said casually as she sprayed the message. "So unfortunately... My involvement can only go as far as punching them in the teeth. Until they're enlightened," -- there was that word again, she seemed to say 'enlightened' a whole lot these days -- "They're our biggest threats. The higher-ups more so than the others, depending on who's even stayed."

"Obviously they're the biggest threats. What do the rest of them do? Make big eyes and run. Or, I don't know, throw wine on you. Or water." He shook his head, peeling away his stencil and considering his work for a moment before comparing it with hers. If his wasn't neater, he was going to be horrified...
"And don't worry about Wolframite. I don't think he likes anyone. He basically hates me, and he doesn't even know I've been promoted yet..." Actually, that made him pause, thinking just briefly that it'd be nice to rub that in a bit. Not tactful, but fun. Would Zink yell at him for it...?
"You can keep that, if you want." He dropped the stencil back into his bag and set to patting his pockets, attention turned upward. Not a breath from above. "Join the cause, ******** the senshi, we're making t-shirts too."

Apparently Ilmenite had run into much wussier Senshi than she had. She almost wished that someone would run or throw water or wine at her. Would've been a lot less painful than a broken nose, she'd bet. She took a step back from the wall to admire their art and wrinkled her nose at the messy, crooked red text she had sprayed. Leto definitely needed more practice in the vandalism department.
"Oh. Well then... That makes me feel a little better." If Wolframite didn't like anyone, she wouldn't make a point of trying to be on friendly terms with him. There would obviously be no point. Obviously. "Not that many of you guys are particularly fond of us former-Blood Mooners anyways."
She looked at the can and stencil, then at him. She shrugged her shoulders slightly, "Alright, cool." Now she was part of some anti-Senshi vandalism squad. Cool beans.
"I better get an amazing shirt or I'm gonna be incredibly disappointed, sir. And I must say," she put her hands on her hips, still holding the can in one hand and stencil in the other, getting red paint on her camo print skirt. "We make awfully pretty art."
This was a lot more fun when a giant youma lady wasn't throwing you through windows and letting her creepy hand bite you.

"...I think you mean 'pretty awful'." He finally found his pack of cigarette and his expression lit up. Slowly, he settled on his haunches so he could tap one out, check his stash, head tilted just slightly to one side.
"Like the t-shirts. Unless you know someone with an artistic eye, it's basically going to be words scribbled on in some angsty's handwriting." That meant 'not Ilmenite's', though -- his own handwriting was the kind of neat script you had to train kids into young. He liked to think he had mastermind handwriting.
He settled the cigarette between his lips and looked her over, eyes narrowed, for just a moment. That was all it took for him to decide she didn't need one and put the pack away without offering. "But seriously, do you know anyone with an artistic eye?"

"No no, you gotta look at it as if it's a work of art. Abstract, or some s**t." She stared at the wall for a moment in silence. "Okay, so it looks like s**t. Whatever, it gets the point across!"
She eyed him from her peripherals as he pulled out a cigarette, put it between his lips, and looked her over... Then not offer her one. She huffed slightly. "Totally cool, didn't want one anyway," she waved a hand dismissively. She really didn't, but it was awfully rude not to at least offer!
Leto tapped her fingernails on the can she was holding, taking the moment to think about it. "I'll ask my team, maybe one of 'em has more artistic talent than the both of us combined." While Ilmenite's handwriting may be neat, her's very much was not. She used a messy mixture of printing and cursive and it wasn't always legible.
She rocked back on her heels. "Tanzanite's arm doesn't have an artistic side to it?"
Okay so maybe mocking one of the Negaverse's leaders wasn't a brilliant idea. She bit her lip when she realized what she said and cleared her throat awkwardly.

It probably wasn't brilliant to crack jokes about Tanz to Ilmenite, either. Wolframite was a different cup of tea, not involved in the man's inner circle -- not an enemy, but certainly not a friend, either. That made him fair game when it came to teasing or jokes. Even Fluo, or Alunite, friends and allies that they were, were good spirited enough that he knew they wouldn't care.
If she'd gone for Zink, they would have had a real problem. Bullet dodged.
As it was, Tanz -- he didn't answer for a moment. Instead he took the time to light his cigarette, head tipped down a little, stretch out the silence, let Leto feel awkward. It was probably intentionally uncomfortable, though he was at least in part weighing his options and trying to decide what he wanted to reply. And how.
"...if you consider its canvas your face..." He blew the smoke back over his shoulder, at least that considerate. "It just might."

It probably wasn't brilliant to crack jokes about Tanzanite to anyone in the Negaverse, really. Maybe Corrupted Senshi? Who knows. She stood there awkwardly, watching as he lit his cigarette and took his sweet time in replying, allowing the silence to linger. Obviously Leto needed a lesson in Proper Topics of Discussion with Negaverse Agents 101 if she was going to make a habit of hanging out with them.
She was definitely not that awkward with Benitoite, Howlite or Alunite though. She chalked it up to the fact that Ilmenite was a General and that was intimidating as ******** to the Senshi.
When he finally spoke, she let out a long breath as if she had been holding it the entire time. She shuddered at the idea of arm's mouth all up on her face. It biting her shoulder was close enough, thank you very much. Deciding that she very much wanted to change the subject, she finally spoke.
"Any other areas you planned to spray paint tonight? And out of curiosity, is there more to this evil plan than spray paint and mean t-shirts?"
She wasn't trying to be insulting, she just really wanted to get her hands on more than just spray cans.

"It starts with spray cans and t-shirts." With that, he finally took his feet again, sighing and flicking the cigarette between his fingers as he hoisted the bag onto his shoulder again. Ilmenite hadn't thought much beyond that, hadn't expected it to take this long for someone to come after him. Maybe spray painting wasn't enough...
"We were going to accelerate toward outright vandalism in the senshi name, you know, moon princess, blah blah, you did that for a while I imagine." He shrugged, leaning against the wall -- heedless of the fact that the paint was still wet, damnit. He'd notice in an hour. Or if Leto felt up to pointing it out.
"Mostly, though, it was about making Birhan look like an idiot in front of her people. Fat lot of good that's done, since you all defected." He made a face in her direction.
