im alittle confused. what is the rapture and what is supposed to happen?
PostPosted: Thu Feb 16, 2006 8:04 pm

The rapture is Christ's second coming. A trumpet will sound and the voice of an archangel will be heard then the dead in Christ will rise and believers who still live will be caught into the clouds with Jesus. It's when Christ comes to take his bride, the church, home.

The big debate is whether we will be raptured before, during, or after the 7 years of tribulations. That's not as important as knowing it will happen.

I Thesselonians 4:13-18 "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words."

The last sentence is important as well.

I suggest you read through Revelation. Some of it will be a bit hard to understand but try to. If you have any specific questions, check online sources like Biblegateway.com or ask us and we will do what we can.

any of you heard of perry stone??

he was talking about the end times once... it was very powerful... he was talking about how the jewish feasts connect with harvest time and harvest time connects with the rapture. there are three jewish feasts that every jewish man MUST go to... the first feast is around barley harvest time. in barley harvest, they took the barley and tossed it up into the air and the wind collected it. the wind seperated the one part from the other part. and also how it represented the first harvest... where the farmers would go and harvest the crops that had matured early... that had grown and been watered enough... the second feast is around the time of wheat harvest. in wheat harvest, the grains were harder, and rougher to harvest. so they had to take a horse or mule and hook it up to a big board which they would then stand on and ride over the wheat so it would crush it and then seperate one part from another. and then also it was like the second harvest where the farmers would take the main harvest from the main big part of the field... the late bloomers.. who had matured later... the third feast was around the time of grape harvest. where they would have to take the grapes and put them into a ring and jump and stomp on them and squish and crush them to get the juice out of them. it was the harshest of the harvest routines. well, perry was saying how he believes that we are going up pre-tribulation because we are like the barley. we don't need to be crushed or persecuted to profess the name of Christ. we're softies.. biggrin then he said that also the it was like the last harvest... where the jewish farmers would take the very last crops from the corners... the ones that has been too stubborn... the ones that wouldn't grow or come up until the very end... hehe... get it now? so then he was saying how the jewish farmers would plant their crops and it would rain and help the crops... but then JUST BEFORE THE HARVEST there would be a dry spell.. there would be NO RAIN. what does this have to do with anything?? well... the Holy Spirit is talked about in the Bible as "Rain from Heaven" guess what?? we're in a dry spell right now aren't we?? don't you notice people even Christians everywhere getting dry for Christ? going thirsty? not listening? the harvest is close upon us... and then he was talking about how after the dry spell the rain would come. just before harvest. i don't remember all of it, and i'm DEFINITELY not doing it justice, but it was amazing.. incredible... it was so awesome all the facts he presented and stuff like that... it was so cool... i'll see if i can order a tape or something like that of that particular sermon... it was great.. biggrin 3nodding

((sorry that took so much time for you to read it and also so much space... sweatdrop heh..))

I've never used this before but looks pretty reasonable. It's a chapter by chapter study. Just click the box on the chart at the top to go through the chapter.

In a very short and extremely abridged version...
The tribulation will last 7 years and after that time the church will be raptured to Heaven. Some believe the rapture will be before the trib. After the tribulation comes the thousand year reign of satan then Christ comes back with his army, the church, and defeats satan once and for all and after judgement all the unsaved along with satan and his demons get cast into the lake of fire for eternity.
There is alot more that happens in there but basically, it's God's wrath finally being poured out and everyone gets put in heaven or hell for eternity.

oh.... ok i see. So it is like a big war between Christ and Satan?

Not so much a war as Christ just sends his butt to the Lake of Fire.
