A small gray-brown puffball rolled onto its stomach, eyes shut tightly despite actually being awake. Jak huffed, wanting desperately go back to sleep. Maybe if he closed his eyes for long enough he'd eventually drift back into the dream world where he was being rewarded a nice, gargantuan steak for something he did. Whatever it was, it was probably something really awesome, otherwise the steak would have been smaller. The pup was already starting to salivate when the image of the steak came back to mind, and when his stomach grumbled he opened his eyes and stared idly at the ground right in front of him.

"Is it lunch yet?" he asked no one in particular, though he did glance around to see if there was a human he could pleadingly look at with his large, innocent eyes. So far that technique's been working rather well in terms of getting him some kind of food. When he saw no one, he huffed again. If he couldn't get back to sleep lunch would be an acceptable alternative. His tummy grumbled again and he rolled on his back, relieving it slightly. It always helped him, when he was hungry, to lie on his back. Now facing the ceiling of the nursery, the gray pup narrowed his eyes at the specks he saw.

"Is that.. a.. what is that? A steak?" he asked, again directed at no one in particular. "Please be a steak. Be a steak falling down from the sky...." and he smiled at the idea.

A long yawn emitted from the darker pup’s maw as she wearily opened her eyes. She had just woken up from a nice little nap. Her ears perked forward, listening to the sounds of her brother talk about food. Just mentioning the fact a steak falling from the sky caused her stomach to rumble with hunger, and her light gaze to focus on the ceiling. “There’s no steak,” she said after a moment, lowering her gaze back to Jak.

“And stop saying steak,” another rumble. “You’re making me hungry. I wish mama was here,” Kita said, those little inkling feelings of wanting to nurse not having left her mind. One thing that was good about being a little puppy, you got to feed whenever you want. As you got older, you had to wait for the two-leggers to bring stuff.

The pup gave another yawn, stretching as she lifted herself to her feet. She wobbled over to his brother, plopping down next to him as she rub her cheek against his, playfully gnawing on his ear. "Mama says we have different two leggers. 'Masters' as she calls them. Have you met yours yet? Mine is a weirdo."

"You don't have to spoil the dream Kita," he replied with a small frown. She wasn't the only one that wanted their mama, actually, but he wouldn't ever say so aloud. At least not in front of his sisters. He wanted to look the strong and independent part, after all -- play the big brother role. The frown was gone by the time she had sidled up next to him, and he let her gnaw away at his ear.

"Yeah.." he said through a small yawn of his own. Lack of lunch was making him sleepy again, but he would hold out a bit longer to see if someone would finally decide to bring them some food. "I think mine's kinda confused, but nice." She is, sort of, but confused or not he did like his owner.

The pup gave a thoughtful look as he reached his paw over her shoulders to pin her head down so she'd stop with the gnawing. "How is yours a weirdo?"

“Think if we bark the two-leggers will bring us something?” she continued to gnaw, until he pushed her away. With a frown on her maw, she made a small ‘hmph’ noise, raising to her feet, and heading to the door that the humans would enter through.

“He just is. He looks at mama and me with these crazy looks.” She shrugged lightly. “I don’t know. I wish we could understand what they say.” Her ears pinned backwards, glaring at the knob on the door. “I don’t know about you, but I’m not gonna wait to get fed. They will come if we make lots of noise!”

A few barks came from her, before she glanced at Jak. “Well, are you going to help? I can hear your tummy all the way over here!” She began barking again, before a few howls started.

Jak flicked his ears to and fro for a moment, just double-checking to make sure his sister hadn't gnawed too thoroughly. It was done in more a joking manner though, and when he finished, a smirk form on his maw as he watched his sister start barking at the door. "Crazy looks? he asked while he was getting up on his own feet. "I think we'll understand them if we're around them long enough though."

The young male took his time and stretched out first. Another yawn escaped him before he started to walk over to Kita, who was now making as much noise as she could to get the two-leggers' attention. Her nagging made him frown though, and he sped up his pace to stand beside her. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered before joining in the barking. "And my stomach wasn't that loud.."

Kita shrugged. “I like it in here…I rather be around you and Tari, and then have mama and daddy come in, then keep being separated.” Kita said.

She stared at the door, not seeing any movement of the hand jiggle. Where were the two-leggers. Did they not know there were starving puppy dogs in the nursery, begging for food. She stopped her howling, smirking at Jak. “Yes it was! It’s almost as bad as your snoring.” She giggled, ears perking when he began to bark. Now that there was a chorus going on, the two-leggers were certain to hear it now.

And they did. Not a few moments passed when two young women stepped inside the nursery, a large bowl in their hand. Inside, the kibble they would be fed. But it wasn’t the typical hard food that the normal adults got. Instead, it was watered down to an almost mash that would make it easier digestible to a young mokai’s stomach.

The two people placed the bowl down (it was large enough for the three puppies to feed from it), before patting each Jak and Kita’s head, and leaving.

“…Eww…this stuff again?” Kita turned her nose up at the food, before returning to take a few bites. Her head turned towards the ceiling. If only steak could be falling from there.

"Was not!" he exclaimed in defense of the "loud as his snoring" bit, then went wide-eyed when he realized that he admitted to snoring loudly. To recover, he quickly added, "and I don't snore!" before snorting and going back to barking. Pfft, Snoring. He totally didn't snore. ...Not that there was a way for him to actually know, but he just knew he didn't. It was just one of those things.

Their barking eventually caught the two-leggers' attention and they came in with the usual bowl of slop for the pups, leaving after patting the two of them lightly on the head. Jak made a face at the stuff, not really feeling all that hungry anymore at the sight of the stuff. When Kita started eating, he sighed and gave in as well. The grumbling in his belly (which wasn't all that loud...) had gotten to be too much for him, and there was no way he could fend off the hunger for much longer anyway.

He stopped after getting his fill and sat back, hanging his tongue out and scratching it lightly with his paws to try and get the nasty flavor off of it. "I heh dis chta (I hate this stuff)..."

After her belly was full, Kita backed away from the food. She sat just next to Jak, licking her lips of any remnants of the mashed food from her face. She too, made a face, bring a paw up to her maw to assist in the drying process. “One day,” she started, when all food particles were swallowed, “we won’t ever have to eat this stuff again!” She couldn’t wait for that. If only she knew that if she became like her mother and father, she’d have similar kibble without the soaking process.

A yawn escaped from her, as she pushed against her brother again, slowly falling to the ground. Even though she had just woken up from a nap, she found herself strangely tired. This seemed to be the normal lifestyle for puppies. They woke up, played a bit, begged for food, ate and then fell back asleep to start the cycle over again.

“’eyy Jak,” she cooed quietly, smacking her lips together as her tongue rolled along the roof of her mouth. “No snoring this nap. Ks?”

"I kinda wish that one day was tomorrow," he said, shaking his head a bit violently when he finished with his attempt to rid his mouth of the flavor that was currently lingering.

The scratching didn't help much, so he did his best to put the nasty taste of whatever-it-was out of his mind and focus on his current, not to mention sudden, desire to fall back to sleep. It wasn't unnatural for this sort of thing to happen considering he was still a growing pup, but there were times he wished he had a bit more energy at his disposal. Yawning, he shrugged the thoughts aside and laid back down after Kita, nudging her slightly once he was completely down.

He snorted at her words, turning to face the opposite direction. "I do not snore." he said rather audibly, then whispered, "at least not that loud, I don't think..."

Another yawn emitted from Kita’s throat, as she nudged her sleepy brother back. If she was a kitten, there was sure to be the sounds of content purring between both of them.

“You do tooooo,” she slurred, eyes no longer opened. She curled her feet under her body, resting her head over Jak’s neck. Her tail clung tightly to her body. She basically looked like a little ball of fluff. “It’s something like…” Kita made a light snoring sound, trying to prove her point to her brother. However, instead of actually stopping her ‘fake’ snoring, the female fell asleep, lightly snoring herself.

Jak grumbled slightly at her retaliation, but let out a laugh when, instead of a bit more teasing from his sister, she actually had fallen to sleep. He sighed, deciding they could argue a bit more about his supposed snoring problem after the nap, and proceeded to try and get some sleep himself. With his sister's snoring in the background though, it proved just a bit harder than he thought it would be.

Before completely falling into the dream world, he thought to apologize if he did, in fact, snore. Honestly, the pup had no idea it'd be so bothersome.
