Sailor Draconis was becoming far too used to patrolling the streets of Destiny City late at night. It wasn't hard to sneak out of the house- the alibi of "staying over at a friend's house" was easy enough. After all, she did stay at Griffin's place far too often for her own good.
Tonight wasn't the time for girly sleepovers though. It was time for youma hunting and kicking butt.
Part of her was worried that maybe she was becoming too used to patrolling like this. It had almost become a daily habit, or at least every other day. She was slowly losing the concept of a human life, ever so slowly. It wasn't like all of a sudden she wasn't Talia and Sailor Draconis was her only entity. It was the little things. Homework was getting turned in later because in between tennis pracitce and patrolling, there just wasn't the time. It was getting hard to explain her bruises and scars.
Regardless, she didn't regret it. Especially not after the battle in The Surrounding. In fact, after seeing the horrors up in space, she was all the more determined to ward off the negaverse for good. If she could prevent more negaverse-beings from spawning, she would being doing good. Saving Destiny City and all.
Sailor Draconis turned to Pippin nonchalantly, a daily gesture. "See anything?" At the moment they were traveling by rooftop. It was a clear, starry night, the kind you rarely saw in Destiny City because the buildings obscured the sky ever so. Up here on the rooftops, she could see everything. It was open. Adaptable.

Oh how did he love patrolling with Salior Draconis. It was just wonderful, he could talk all the time and he wouldn't get any weird little looks because she knew that he was talking kitty. Plus she was a wonderful little dragon that didn't do anything wrong in his eyes. She was perfect to him. Even if she was turning homework late, Pippin saw nothing wrong with it because Draconis could do no wrong.
Every time they patrolled he had a pip in his little step. He loved being around people and it had been awhile since he could walk around by someone side. He looked up her and gave a small smile. He looked around as she asked her question and spoke. It might of been a mistake to ask if Pippin saw anything because if she didn't know by now this little kitty loved to talk. "Yes! I see you and me, The sky, stars and two best friends! But if you're talking about danger I see none. But we could look at another place. Maybe the jewelry store! I bet there is a lot of wonderful dangerous things in there that need to be taken home be inspect!" He said with a happy grin up to her.

Where was that metaphorical wall to bang her head against? Seriously, this cat never shut up. She wondered what sort of evil god had stuck her with this cat. Then again, he was sometimes useful. Talia wondered if he could do that head lazer thing like *********. THAT would be useful.
Sometimes though ... he just came up with the dumbest ideas. "Pippin, we can't just go robbing places," she said, rolling her eyes. Internally she added, and we're not best friends, but she knew if she said that the stupid thing would start bawling and then she would NEVER hear the end of it. Ever.
Sailor Draconis leapt off the roof and back onto the asphault path of a parking lot. It was eerily empty. She was about to pass through when something halted her.An aura pricked her sensing radio. Something evil was nearby. Something negaverse. She immediately turned around.
"Pippin ... be careful," she said in a stern, steady voice. Someone ... no something was out there.

There was a laugh, then, cutting through the night, echoing almost in the darkness of the parking lot, and making its source hard to be found. Strangely enough, it was not mocking or cruel, but warm, amused, like a woman that had just teased an old friend.
"Careful of what, Draconis?" The blonde captain stepped into the dim glow of one of the tall, orange street lamps, a mock pout on her freckled face. "Little old me? Come now, you and I are good friends, aren't we?"
It gave her a slight thrill of pleasure, knowing the senshi's name, from Zinkenite, when the pissy girl didn't know hers. Though she hadn't seen her since the Surrounding, she looked the same. Of course, the cat was new.

That voice.
Ohhh, how she loathed that voice.
Turning around, Draconis grimaced and saw the newly-decked-out Howlite. She looked ... more ... shiny? than last time. Lots of new baubles and trinkets. Same old Howlite lurked underneath the banner of red, black and gold though. Same old blonde hair, ugly lips, ugly everything as far as Draconis was concerned.
How exactly did she know her name, too? Draconis hadn't recalled giving it out like a phone number or a casual greeting. Perhaps Howlite had been doing some stalking of her own since they'd last met. Honestly, Draconis had been hopeful that the stupid girl might've just dropped off The Surrounding in the hysteria of the princess senshi's attack, but it seemed that not all sweet dreams could come true.
"We're far from friends, and you know it," she hissed back, in a rather juvenile tone. It was clear that even under the disguise of magic, Draconis was still the younger of the two. Diction choice was the only real indicator though; Draconis still held herself like she was the queen of the ******** world. "Come to steal more innocent lives?" she chided. A bit more coldly, she added, "Great job up in space by the way"

"Aw," A gloved hand gripped the material of her jacket, just above her heart. "I'm crushed." Shaking her head, the blonde sent the brunette a pouting look, even as she strolled closer, gaze shifting over for the briefest of moments to examine, and dismiss, her kitten companion.
Raising an eyebrow, she wagged a finger at Draconis. "It's not nice to assume things, love. I can promise you that I haven't laid a finger on any of your precious innocents." Well, not in the way that the dragon senshi was thinking, anyway.
"Hm?" In space? "Still stuck on that, are you? I'd almost forgotten. Though," She tapped her jaw, considering, "I did put a lot of time into that youma y'all so rudely obliterated. I suppose I should be rather put out about that." She grinned. "Did you want to have a scuffle over it?"

Pippin frowned. He didn't like it when his wonderful little dragon was upset. He didn't like it at all. He eyed the lieutenant with displeasure. "How can you say those horrible things!" said out loud. It was a habit. A bad habit, this cat couldn't hold his tongue even if his life depend on it.
"You just leave use alone or you're going to regret messing with us, you hear! My dragon is top notch and you're nothing compare to her! Got it!" he said puffing up to make himself look bigger. which didn't help too much. He was a small little cat and nothing really ever helped him to look bigger.

It was like the second Pippin talked the dramatic music record was scratched and the air filled with silence. Seriously. Seriously Pippin. Way to ruin the drama of the moment.
"Pippin I can handle this," she said sternly, though she wasn't sure how much she believed in her own words. Howlite wasn't only looking a lot stronger- she felt a lot stronger. The aura coming off her was more powerful than it had been up in space. It was sort of ... dangerous feeling.
She looked back at Howlite and said, "A scuffle is an incredibly savage word. Duel is more refined. I think we should have a duel."
Draconis took a few steps to the left, sort of beginning to circle around Howlite. She was keeping tabs on the negaverser. There was no way she was making the first attack. She would think things through this time.

He scoffed a bit. This was as much as his business as her. He frown and crossed his arms over his chest. "Fine, Draconis I'll stay out of this but don't ask for my help when you really need it." He said frowning.
It really hurt him when his dragon said that. He was only helping and she made him look like he was doing nothing. He sated back down and curl his tail around himself. "Go Draconis! Kick her butt!" said cheering her one. He couldn't help to say something and couldn't keep a grudge too long either.
