personally, im more of a fan of Justins work...some of the bass lines on Lateralus and Aenima are just amazing...hell, ive been playin for about 7 years now and ive been trying to play schism for about 3 of them lol and i still cant say i can play it as good as he can...
though Paul did some really good s**t on Opiate and Undertow...hush, pushit, prison sex...its a really had choice...but im gonna stick with my boy Justin...
but id love to meet either one of them...

Hrmn... Not... not sure.... I'd say Paul D'Amour's work has influenced my own playing, more. But Justin Chancellor has done better work.
I think that's what I mean...

On Opiate and Undertow with Paul the music was angrier but it seemed when they got Justin is when they got wierder. I like both bassists, I can't decide who I like better.

I'm starting to like Justin more than Paul mainly because of Justin's almost hypnotic bass work on the song Reflection I love it. And the stuff on like Aenima and Lateralus is amazing and hell The Pot's bass is flat out divine.

I like Justin. His sound's just darker and more heavy.

Justin Chancellor, his work on Aenima blew me away. That was some of the best uh...bassing, I've ever heard.

professorB Justin Chancellor, his work on Aenima blew me away. That was some of the best uh...bassing, I've ever heard. Both Justin and Paul played on Aenima since Paul left halfway through. And just like how it's guitar playing and not guitaring, it's bass playing . . . not bassing.

It all depends on how you rate a bassist.
