Arian slotted beads into his bead tray absently, nodding his head absently in accompaniment to the music track currently playing over on the radio – it wasn't one he recognised – but it sounded good whoever the singer was.

It was soothing sorting beads out this way, slotting them into the bead board as a way to compare the colours together. This time it was shimmering green lampwork beads – that had cost most of a week's allowance – paired with some leftover smaller beads of white jade.

Saffy's birthday was coming up and he wanted to make her something nice for it – like a bracelet – maybe even some paired earrings to go with it. That is if he had anything left over and could come up with a design he liked in time – it had after all taken a good three evenings worth of sketching to come up with a bracelet design that he thought halfway decent and the little bin was overflowing from pieces of paper with discarded designs.

Back home he'd probably be figuring out which of the two November 5th Bonfire Night celebrations he'd like to go to – but bonfire night was a British thing – there wouldn't be any festivities over in Destiny City. Kind of a shame as Arian loved to go watch the fireworks. Loved all the colours and the different varieties.

His favourites were the catherine wheels, followed closely by the fountains – especially the coloured variety – because the multiple colours were always so much more fun.

Arian took out some medium emerald swarovski crystals followed by some erinite ones and compared them critically with the lampwork beads, before leaving out the erinite ones – they would go better for what he planned.

It was strange not hearing fireworks exploding in backyards from around the end of Halloween onwards, or the posters in the local shops refusing to sell eggs and flour to the 13 – 16 age group for fear that they would use it to make trouble on November 4th – more commonly known in his town as 'Mischief Night'. Okay so the posters went up from about a week before Halloween – most likely in attempt to dissuade trick-o-treaters going too far with the trick side of things, but Arian tended to associate it more with Mischief Night.

Over here however it looked he'd have to wait all the way until July before he saw fireworks – well okay mayhaps he was exaggerating somewhat – Saffy did say that there were usually some fireworks to celebrate and bring in the New Year. New Year's still felt far off though, probably as it was still Autumn just about and it would be nice to do something.

Maybe he could get some toffee and pretend that he was eating the heavy molasses-tasting version they called bonfire toffee. Arian laughed to himself ruefully at the silly idea and went to fetch some silver wire so that he could start making connectors to link the beads together. He'd just have to wait for New Year's.
