Hunting yet again. It seemed all Wyconda could do lately. Something about it relaxed and aggrivated him at the same time. Xai had taken off yet again, which left him with no one to translate for him. The red maned lion was wary of going on a hunt today because she'd flown away, but it was his duty. It was like a baby bomb had gone off in the Pridelands and everyone was having cubs again. It reminded him of his old pride, his old life. Naturally he didn't like to dwell in it, but from time to time it was pleasent remembering the mists and how cool the place had been. His fur was almost too thick for the Prideland climate. Even in their cooler days the boy was hot and constantly looking for shade or water to drink. Like right now he wanted to take a break and rest on a rock.

The wind was cool and it felt good on his face, where the fur wasn't so thick, but the rest of him was suffering and slightly too warm for him. His light blue eyes looked around at the slightly green grass that was holding on for life as the winter months ripped approached and slowly killed them off. A small smile fell upon his lips as he watched a genet family scamper to their den. While they were pray, he didn't much care for the taste of them. He had more than a few scratches on his nose and muzzle from them, too.

Walking with her son was tedious. Jagat was one of those hyper boys who wanted to wander off at a moment's notice. While he wasn't a cub anymore, Aekea much prefered he stayed close in case someone decide to attack her and take advantage of her. Just the sight of another male with a female was enough to make most of the rogues back off and go somewhere else. Not always, but usually. Her violet eyes fell upon her bright son's back as he led her through the grasses and rocks, indicating that they were getting near their destenations. "J-Jagat, look-k up ahead-d..."

Something had caught her eye and made her hestiate in her steps. Her ears pinned back and she crouched in the tall grass when her son indicated she should.

Red eyes fell upon a splotch of grey, white and red up ahead, but he didn't seem like he was one of the Firekin, despite his colors. He was too small for a Firekin male.. They had spotted a couple of them along their travels to their new home. "Wait here, mom..." He whispered to her, heading out. His steps were quiet and, he hoped, light. A twig snapped under his paw and he tensed, getting ready for the male to whip around and attack him or something. But the other male didn't even look up.

Odd... Jagat moved closer still and decided not to startle the male. So he came around where Wyconda would be able to see him and he started to speak. "Hello? I'm looking for the Pridelands. Know where it is?"

Someone came into his line of sight and startled the crap out of him. Wyconda gave a silent yelp and scrambled to his paws before blinking and staring. ...Something about the Pridelands? Maybe he was looking for them. Sighing, Wyconda pointed to the outline of Pride Rock. He spoke slowly and with no voice to the other male.

"Right over there."

Of course Jagat had no idea what was going on and just stared at the pale male like was crazy. That was, until his mom came up and cuffed him on the head for it. Hissing, he looked over at her and wrinkled his nose. "What? He's not talking. I think he's dumb."

"T-that's en-nough of that, J-Jagat." Aekea looked the male over and gave a gentle, motherly smile before nodding and pointing over to Pride Rock again. "That way?" She spoke slowly so she wouldn't stutter. Clearly this male had some sort of disability, so she didn't want to make him feel any worse than he probably already did. She pitied anyone with a disability. She might have a stutter, but at least she had the ability to hear, talk and everything else. She thanked the gods for that after meeting some blind and mute lions.

Wyconda nodded and sighed, looking from Jagat to Aekea. They were related, probably mother and son from how they acted towards each other. Jagat acted a bit submissive to the female, which is why he gathered parent and child. He looked hesitant and started walking toward the pride, motioning them both to follow him. He 'spoke' again and told them it was a couple hour walk away. Why not skip hunting all together today and bring in potential new hunters.

"H-he wants us-s to follow h-him," Aekea said, her voice soft as she spoke to her son. Why, she wasn't sure. She had a feeling this one couldn't hear her or anything for that matter. Giving a sad smile, she moved to walk at a distance behind the male and glanced back to make sure her son was following. "J-Jagat, I don't th-think he can h-hear anything, s-so if you do t-talk to him, sp-speak slow, OK? He probably can read what you're saying if yo do. Try to gesture, too... I've s-seen deaf lions talk through g-gestures before."

Jagat rolled his eyes but nodded anyway. He had to listen to mom because mother knew what she was talking about. After all, she'd come from a completely different pride when father found her. Mom spoke of her old home as if it was some horrible place, but he wasn't so sure. They'd went back to see if they could find it, only to find that that pride too, was deserted. He was sad, seeing all these prides disbanding. It was like the gods were saying they weren't pleased with very many things.

He followed the other male silently and together, he and his mom were passed on to the boy's father who told them about the pride and helped them settle into a den for the night. Tomorrow would be an exciting day since they'd have to find a permanent home and meet other lions. Interesting indeed.
