Checkmate: *Gives an almost bored look* Is that all? I was expecting something more... I don't know, thought through?
*shrugs as she chuckles* Like I say... *plucks one of Checkmate's wing feathers out* I am an implusive person.. and I know which soquilis of mine can handle you.
Checkmate: *reaches out to try and grab ahold of Cait with a taloned foot.* And I, dear human, know what I like and what I don't. You on the other hand can be quite convinsing, but on the other claw, quite annoying.
x.x Check, don't get me into trouble. Please?
*leaps back with the feather in her hand* I know I am annoying. I think its called 'persistent' *beams at Check then winks at Kesmi* don't worry. He's quite amusing. Not so indimidating like he wanted to be.
xD Yea, he's got some work cut out for him. He was scarier in the CYOA then here.
Checkmate: Not my fault you fail at evil. If you had more backbone you might be good at something. *Snorts and turns his back to the humans, raising his tail feathers some he started walking away.* I will test your mare, but don't expect anything to some of it.
*snickers at Kesmi* Maybe he's being a sweetheart just because its me? *is delibrately provoking the stallion* Awww, don't be so mean to Kesmi, Check-poo! She just don't want her evil horses to kill me *grins as she suddenly jumps on top of Check* You think too less of my horses, stallion *fluffs his crest up* You should start eyeing my horses with suspicion. They can be downright evil if they want to be
Cyanide: *walks up behind them and curls her muzzle in distaste* is that meatbag trying to sell us to other 'mates' again? *flicks her tail back and forth lazily while she stares at Checkmate* a new victim?
Checkmate: *Rears up trying to dislodge Cait from his back. Before turning his attention to the Kalona that appeared* If this thing is yours, take it away and deal with it. It is trying to sell your unborn/future children onto me. Perhaps you can teach it a lesson.
*clings to Check stubbornly and sinks her fingers into his feathers and whispers to him* Keep trying and I will give you bald spots.
Cyanide: *arches her eyebrow in mild amusement as she looks at the stallion* My unborn/futurn children? are you sure about that? *flexes her wings as she stares at Cait* She knows I don't breed with anything else that isn't a kalona .. but more specifically.. a dragon.
Checkmate: *Chuckles slightly* She just told me that the next filly you have will become my mate. NO matter what her parents say. Besides I wouldn't breed with you, it would taint your good looks. *Gives an amused expression, though feathered dragons don't sound all that bad either.
[[ This is getting amusing. xD ]]
Cyanide: *stares at Cait as she considers killing the human right out as she narrows her eyes little bit at Check* That is not going to happen. My family line will not be tainted with non-kalona or dragon blood. *forces herself not to bristle as she eyes the stallion with distaste*
HEY!! I NEVER SAID THAT!! Are you trying to get me killed? *yanks at Check's feathers*
Checkmate: *Laughs outright and turns his head to stare at Cait with a blood red eye* Why not? They your herd can chose who they want to mate and be happy. I'm sure this kalona mare is quite happy with whatever stallion she is mated with. Their brood all in good genetics, if not a little wirey. But other wise, perhaps I have someone in mind to be my little mate? *Flexes his feathered wings, ones that have a single claw set at the elbow.* Ever thought of that?
Cyanide: *smirks little bit as she watches Checkmate quietly* I am not mated, actually. And I don't think I ever will. *moves up toward the stallion* wirey? You have seen my kids? *voice lowers to purring as she flashes a brief sight of her fangs* And you think they are little wirey?
*squirms around little bit, suddenly feeling quite uncomfortable because she is staring at Checkmate and Cyn is moving up* Uh.... they do pick. I just suggest the mates... *keeps an eye on Cyn warily* And do you now? Who is that someone then? *pokes the beak while subtly shifting to one side so if Cyn do attack, she could simply slide off really quick*
Checkmate: *Stands his ground as the mare approaches.* Seen you kids? No, but from lookin at you and how you are acting, They would have to be a little wirey. Delicate frame, nice wing structure, a prize for any stallion I'm sure. With heads down in submission and voices quiet unless spoken to, well no that ain't too right. A mare needs her voice, to sing the food to sleep so the stallions can have live, warm meat. Blood still punping, though silenced as to not scream in fright or being eaten.
Cyanide: *chuckles softly as she looks at Checkmate* My children is actually far from being little wirey. They take after their father when it comes to body frame. *runs her wing across his body lightly* head down in submission? sing the food to sleep? Oh no, my dear.... I love to feel fear-laced blood as I chase my prey down and I play with it while it is still aware then I rip the throat out.... *nuzzles across Check's neck* and I shower in its blood as the last sight it would see is me covered in its blood, eating its heart. Do you want a demostration of how I do that?
Checkmate: *Lets a small shiver race down his spine to shake out a hind leg, the hoof thumping against the ground as the mare's wing touched his body. It wasn't fear that the male was feeling, but excitement. Bending his neck some he pressed his muzzle against her side inhailing her scent before looked down as she nuzzled against his neck. He hadn't really heard a word she was saying until the last of it.* Not at this moment love. *His neck stretched out some to drap over hers, his body shifting to slip away from reach, though still close enough to stretch a feathered limb out to brush against her scaled hide.* Perhaps another time, when I find something worth of such a death. For the moment, the only things here are the humans and they are but mouthfuls to the likes of, us.
Cyanide: *shoves the male away after she allowed him to touch her and drape his neck over hers* Shame you aren't a kalona or dragon. *gives him a mock-regretful look as she dances away from him* Everything that isn't kalona or dragon is a worthy of a death we could dole out to them, don't you think? Oh wait... *clicks her fangs as she looks at him* I forgot I wasn't talking to a dragon...but perhaps I should lie to myself and say that you are one. *eyes gleams with mischeif*
Checkmate: Does the world have to know? Could be our dirty little secret. *Gives the best grin he could over his beak as he's shoved away from the Kalona mare.* Who's to say I'm not a dragon in hiding and taken on another form?
Cyanide: *laughs lightly as she gives him a little coy smile* It definitely could be our little dirty secret *tucks her wings against her body while she looks at him evenly* You do have a good point but my family wouldn't believe that if they do find out and attempt to rip your throat out *gives him a small geniune sad smile*
Checkmate: Do let them try, would be much fun to see their attempts. But I fear that your family is bigger then little ol' me. Seeings I slaughtered my own parents to get up in the world. Mother was a bit tough on the edges, but the deeper I got the more tender her meat was. Father I left to the scavengers, I wouldn't touch his vile body. Even his blood tasted of swamp muck. *Shakes his head ears and feathered crest flattening back in disgust.* Then there was my charming siblings, Flee they try, but games they like. Came back too easily to their own slaughter. Most think it cruel of me to eat my own family, but when its your own given option in imprisonment.. You do what you have to.
Cyanide: *refuses to let a flicker of admiration go through her eyes as she arches her eyebrow at him* You ate your own family? That is ... quite interesting way of getting up in the world. But what do you mean by imprisonment? *narrows her eyes little bit as she could see a familiar flicker of light green behind Checkmate* My family is the reason why I am still walking around. That and because I am too stubborn to let anybody hold me down *smirks as she flicks her tail in subtle signal to her daughter to stay hidden*
Checkmate: *Turns his head a little as if had saw something, but gives a shrug and turns his attention back to the mare.* My family were prey beasts, mostly. Fighters at other times when entertainment were needed. Fights to the death and what not. Most the time we were kept in the bowels of some stink hole with other screamed sniveling creatures lessers then ourselves. Ones who hold little to no purpose in this world, besides to be eaten. To gain my freedom from the pits and cages, I had to fight my way out, slaughter those that were holding me back. It was clear to me that the only things holding me in shackles were those of my kin. So. *He shrugs* I had to deal with them the only way possible, challenge them in the pits and defeat them all. If your family are holding you in shackles, perhaps I should do something to end your suffering?
Cyanide: *stares at Checkmate as he turned little bit but looked back at her* That is..... interesting method of imprisionment. *narrows her eyes little bit as she cocks her head to side with a mental sigh* So what makes you think you are truly free? You might have killed and fled from that, but you might have fled from one prison to other. *flexes her wings as she smirks at him* Who said my family are holding me in shackles? They are simply making sure the family line stays strong and will survive. *eyes flickers as her daughter's head appears and disappears among the foliage* Let's go for a walk, shall we?
Checkmate: From one slaughter house to another, its like a game of survival. There's never a winner until someone makes a faulty move and it backfire. Much like this one. *Having heard something close by, he opened his wings and leaped into the foliage after the younger mare that laid hidden within.* Well, well, what do we have here? *Glances in Cyn's direction.* Hiding little tidbits for later? Or seeking a partner for a counter part? *Though he makes no move towards this new face, he does take the time to scratch idly at his chin with a talon.* All very interesting I must say, and if its a walk you want, why don't we three go? More company the better?
Strychinine: *suddenly spins around with her teeth bared at the strange stallion when he landed near her but the bristling quickly gone away and the cold calucating settles in* Little tidbits? *turns her head toward her mother* What is this stallion talking about, Cyanide? *is refusing to reveal that they are mother and daughter as she returns her cold gaze back toward him* Give me a very good reason why I should go on a walk with you, dinner? *keeps her body relaxed, hiding the fact that she is coiled and ready to attack at her mother's signal*
Cyanide: *forces herself to stop from starting forward when Checkmate leaped into the foliage where her daughter was in hiding as she grounds her teeth, knowing that she will have to give her daughter a good talking to about proper way of stalking and hiding. She takes few steps forward as she eyes Checkmate warily* I have no idea what you are talking about. Stry, we will have to talk about this later on. *voice is neutral but her eyes is hard as glaicer, and there is disappointment flickering in her eyes* I guess the plans changed eh? *flexes her wings little bit more as she shakes her head* stallion.. meet my daughter. Not too wirey like you thought eh? *smirks in amusement*
Checkmate: *Gives the strange green colored mare a once over, looking at her flame and wings.* Not in the least, but she is springy. Quick to turn and react. The stallion that approaches from behind should know not to travel too close or he will have fangs in his throat before he can say hi. *Grins and lowers his head a little to the younger mare.* Name's Checkmate, given that all my games end with the loser having no moves left. *Lifts his feathered head higher again, tail feathers ruffling behind him.* Mother and Daughter huh? Well this will be interesting, A fine line indeed, it would be a shame to taint it with feathers. But would look nice with actual claws instead of all hooves. Better holding down and tearing prey to shreds.
Cyanide: *a fleeting smile of pride appears and disappears on her muzzle at Checkmate's compliments about her daughter and she looks at him with mild amusement* You won't relent from tempting us with the attributes you could offer to my family line, wouldn't you? *eyes flicks to Stry whom is glaring at her and her tail tip rattles as she stares at her daughter until Stry looked away in a small sign of submission and respect.* I would have to think about it. claws would be a good addition to the family *smirks little bit as she rolls her head around* but my parents would disagree about that.
Stry: *watches Checkmate warily as she refuses to give her spot up and the wary feeling increases as Checkmate complimented her.* Wirey? *glances toward her mother in mild curiousity as she shakes her head* Wirey means weak. *looks at Checkmate* and I guess we don't have to introduce ourselves since we kinda already did that. *runs her tongue against her teeth from inside as she looks at him up and down, wondering why her mother haven't signaled an attack yet. But at her mother's behavior, she shot her mother an pissed off glare* We wouldn't need claws since we have been doing just fine with what my grandparents gave us. *curtly says as she refused to look away from her mother's stare for awhile then reculantly looked away since Cyn is her mother after all.* And shame for you, we refuse to breed outside kalonas and dragons *narrows eyes little bit at Checkmate*
Checkmate: Parents always do when they want only a certain gene in their line. My parents were the same, I was only to breed with those who had claws and beaks to keep the line as pure as pure can be. It always backfires at one point or another. Only the most stuborn of families keep those in their lines under strict laws on who and what they can... Bang as it were. Or so the term was as it fell from my oen sire's beak when speaking of breeding rules in the pits. But I have no objections to what happens, so long as it keeps everyone happy and leave me without losing my tail feathers in haste to flee. *Glances at the younger mare.* I spoke of the term 'wirey' in the means that you can get into places where those like myself, heavy set and rather bulky can not. If I were to give chase to someone that is wirey, they go through a thin space between trees, I would have to slow and go around giving my prey time to get farther away and to safety. Nothing about weakness. But take it as you will, not my place to change the mind that has been programed by another.
Stry: *tail sweeps back and forth as she refuses to take her eyes off Checkmate* You might have a good point there but most of the time, the term 'wirey' usually means skinny and weak. *shrugs as she glances back and forth from her mother to Check, not sure how to behave since Cyn seems to be soft on him for some reason. It makes her feel uneasy to have his attention on her* Programmed? No. We all want to survive yes?
Cyanide: If I am not mistaken, you are trying to flirt with both of us. *smirks little bit in amusement at Checkmate, not sure how to react to that since he's not a kalona or dragon but he definitely acts like one. She moves toward her daughter and gives her a fleeting nuzzle* The quality and quanity of dragons and kalonas are dwindling so I am thinking that we need to be forced to look to others like you to keep our lines going. *just simply stares at her daughter whom is staring back with stunned outrage* But it is not like we will be doing that. We are too stubborn to extend our line out to others *smirks wryly at her daughter*
Checkmate: *Stretching a wing a little he preened at the feathers that laid on the underside while listening to the two mares talking. Folding the taloned wing back to his side,* Survive yes, we all want to survive in this world by all means possible. But in what way do we survive in, that's the question. Me, I'm a lone stallion I survive by my wit and cunning. Yu two have each other to rely on in times of thin pickings. *He pointed out before giving a coy grin to Cyn.* Flirting? If that's what you wish to call it. Pleasant conversation could be another way to look at it all. *He looked between the two as Cyn spoke of stretching the limits to keep a line going. This was not much of his concern, but it was amusing the reaction it recieved at the idea.* Where family is involved, don't look to be as perhaps anything more then a 'friend' of sorts? To keep the watching eyes at bay and no one will suspect anything from it?
Stry: *eyes finally turns toward her mother and stays there while staring at her* Why are you flirting with someone that isn't... one of us? I would agree that he does have some attributes that could benefit us but he.. is not .. us. *crinkles her nose up little bit as she allows her eyes go back to the stallion.* And I thought he was supposed to be our dinner, not our companion. I am hungry. *refrains from frowning like she normally would if they were alone as she moves around in a semi circle around Checkmate* are you sure we can't eat him? I would think he will be tender. And we already have allies, *eyes didn't give away that she is lying since only allies they have are already part of the family or extended family* So we don't need you but thank you for that lovely offer *keeps her voice neutral and platonic*
Cyanide: *smiles idly at her daughter as she nudges her little bit* Why not? He is quite amusing to flirt with and he does have some good points like spreading our lines out to strengthen our future generations. *is obiviously saying this to see how her daughter would react to that as she moves toward Checkmate and purrs little bit* And it is admirable that you survived this far on your own. That proves that you can provide strong offsrping if you find a fitting mate. *smirks as she watches her daughter moves in semi-circle around Checkmate and murmurs softly* He's off the menu.. at least for now. He's too amusing to die.
Checkmate: *Watches the daughter make a semi-circle movement around him, but merely twitches his white and red tail feathers at her before clicking his beak at Cyn.* Coming from the fighting pits to this land where fighting is, not so common besides for the survival of ones self. At times, I feel like I'm still in the pits when taking down something to eat. The hearts of the creatures around here are quite tastey to say the least. The livers aren't so bad either. *Lapping at the slides of his beak, he goes almost into a dream like state, but is still quite aware of where he is.* I could say the same for you, you both are strong mare in body and will. A stallion would have to fight off many others to just have a chance. And even then that one could prove unworthy to the family needs and be disbatched.
Cyanide: Hearts are admittedly very delicious because of the blood trapped inside but it is still not fullifilling meal for us dragons. *murmurs as she watches Stry with a gleam of mischeif in her eyes, knowing that her daughter is trying to find a spot to attack, even against her own mother's wishes* You are not concerned that you have a hungry dragon circling around you, are you? *looks at the stallion as her tail sways back and forth* We all always have to fight to survive, no matter how alone we are. *smiles little bit as she clicks her fangs little bit* Do you just eat the organs, or do you eat the flesh as well?
Stry: *narrows her eyes little bit as her mother watches her and she stands directly behind Checkmate, figuring that if she attack fast enough, she will be able to disable him before he could realize it. She knows that she will have to face her mother's wrath after this but at this point, she is done with playing around with this prey and wants to eat now.* .... you favor the hearts? I would favor the intestine, particularly upper ones.. more chewier and it does fill you up. And as for livers, it entirely depends on how your prey deal with its diet. *speaks up so he won't know that she is plotting a way to take him down as she arches her eyebrow at her mother mockingly*
Checkmate: *Gives a small shrug before raising his tail feathers in a way the shield his back sight, though exposes his rear as if he had business to do. But other wise wasn't all that concerned about the mare that stood behind him, but nodded as food was the topic now.* Other innereds are good, intestines I find a little gummy, but can be slurped down if one can get past the gag reflex. I at times eat the flesh if its tender enough, if not I go for what's inside that's not been exposed to the elements. *Turning some and letting his tail feathers fall back to there they belonged, the longer feathers trailing behind him she walked over to Stry and stood looking at her.* When sneaking up on a prey item, we all know its best from behind. Cutting off the tendin here. *Makes an indication at the back of her forelimb with a talon, but doesn't dare tear hide.* To collapse the prey's hindquarters. Always easy to down most prey, but not so easy when your prey knows you are well within reach.
Stry: *grounds her teeth as she refuses to show that she's getting quite agitated with Checkmate apparently knowing almost every move she wants to make. She keeps her unblinking gaze on Checkmate as he approaches her and began to instruct her on how to bring an prey down effectively* I am aware of that tactic, Checkmate. But it is kinda hard if I don't have beak or claws like yours to do that easily. *flexes her wings as she looks at him calmly* But I have pulled it off before. With my wings or tail. But thank you. *smiles tightly as she turns her eyes toward Cyn in annoyance* I am hungry.
Checkmate: *Gives a hearty laught* You'd get nothing but feathers if you grab my tail. Sad to say, I not the mane like you have, nor the hearty tail. Just a tail and crest of feathers. If you are hungry, then lets us find something to hunt? Can't have anyone hungry and looking to me as a snake. *Eyes the daughter though merely lifts his chin up some, his pale throat exposed.* Also I rarely use my claws for anything but holding my prey in place, even if I had no beak tactics as such would be easy. Just as you said, but you have something I don't, your mother does as well. You have horns, you are able to gore your prey if need be. But we all make due with what we've got.
Stry: *glances at her mother and looks at Checkmate warily when he lifted his beek up, exposing his throat to her. She gives him a mocking smile as she walks past him with her wings brushing against his body* Who said I need your help? If my mother would stop standing around like star-struck filly, we would be eating right now. *looks little annoyed as she glances at her mother whom is glaring at her in irritation* I know he's amusing, mother. *turns her head over her shoulder as she rolls her shoulders little bit* but he's still a prey, whenever he likes it or not. If you want to spare him, then I suggest that we leave before my father or brother find you standing here making googly eyes at prey.
Cyanide: *stayed silent so Checkmate and Stry could talk without her getting involved and she grins to herself, knowing that she might be able to successfully pull some new blood in the line gradually. But her daughter Stry seems to be very resistant toward Checkmate. Her stomach growled little bit and she opened her mouth to say something when Stry blantantly disrespected her in front of Checkmate* ...... *suddenly leaps on top of her daughter and holds her in an neck hold with her body weight forcing Stry to lay down in submission position while she growls a warning toward the female* Show me some respect, daughter
Checkmate: *Watches with amusement as Stry seemed annoyed with his interactions with her mother. But the edges of what could have been lips turned downwards as the young mare continued to call him prey. He was a player and she was being stubborn about following the rules that were laid out before her and it seemed her mother had her own set of rules.* Respect is a great thing, when one doesn't give it. Greater conciquences are given afterwards. *with his iwn brows furrowed a little, he looked away and edged over towards where the small rays of sun could dot his back.* But its not always easy to give. *This was mostly said to himself not wanting to get in the middle of the pair as it seemed that Cyn had things under control, he couldn't help but see a small rift in progress.*
Please?
