The red-panda marked leopard paused and glanced back over one shoulder. He never liked leaving his sister alone, but even she needed her own space on occasion and the time to do 'feminine' things. Though what those were he could only guess, even after a lifetime spent at her side.
Instead, he walked slowly through the open jungle, following a path that wound in and out through the soaring trunks and thick patches of spiny brush. It was a pleasant morn, cool with the snow-scented breeze from the near by mountain, in whose shadow they had sheltered for the past week. He supposed he should hunt and take back a meal for his sister, but there was time to enjoy the land and hunt as well. For the time being, he was perfectly content to walk among the landscape and enjoy his freedom.

Nárya , was once again, sleeping the day away under a bunch of bushes after a night of dancing at a local Pride's celebration of some kind. It had been far to much fun and she'd been up till well past dawn, leaving promises to find the many males she's charmed later and spend some more time in their company.
It promised it be a very entertaining few weeks, as long as she could keep them all straight and keep the dates and times she was to meet them all sorted, but then Nárya never truly worried about that. Her twin kept it all figured out and covered for her more then once.
Speaking of her twin, she should think about trotting back to their den. If she wasn't home by at least noon, she often got very vexed with Nárya and Ilyn vexed was not a happy thing.

The red and black leopard almost didn't see the dark-hued cat where she lay, only just stopping himself in time as he went to pass through the bush under which she was sheltering. Freezing for a moment he hoped he hadn't disturbed her, for she appeared to be deeply asleep. Taking a few care and silent steps backwards, he looked for a way past that wouldn't wake her.
I hope she is not injured.. it is an unusual place to sleep for the day. Mildly confused but with no intention of intruding, the muscular leopard stepped off the path and started round the thicket.

Nárya happened to be a light sleeper and the sound of paw steps near where she was snoozing made her open one amber colored eye to see what had woken her. Ilyn was always going on how she needed to be careful because she was gong to end up as someone's meal, because not everything would fall for her charms. Pffft Ilyn had no faith...really she didn't.
Noticing it was a leopard, and not to mention a handsome, muscle bound, male leopard, Narya, sat up, both her eyes now open a lovely and welcoming smile on her face as she tilted her head to one side, " You know, its not very polite to wake someone up, and then go sneaking off without even a good morning." Her voice was lightly teasing, a wicked little tease in it, like she was sharing a gentle joke between friends.

Ack! Startled by the sudden purr of a female voice, he froze in place, one paw raised. Turning he looked over at her, vivid berry-coloured eyes blinking before he seemed to gather himself and turned back around. He seemed almost flustered by her teasing tone, though bowed his head low in greeting, richly coloured eyes dipping politely. "I beg your pardon, ma'am. It was not my intention to disturb you." Glancing back at her briefly before lowering his gaze again, his tail curling slowly behind him, even that movement betrayed the fact that he was a warrior, every part of him trained from near birth to be a defender. "I hope the day brings you good fortune, and I am sorry for disturbing you so early."

Dipping her gaze, so that she looked shy and retreating Nárya gave him another smile, this one gentle and full of a little worry, " Actually I am glad that you woke me. It seems that my companion of last eve has left me without the courtesy of seeing me home to my sister. I know she will be worried. I have to cross the open savanna a few miles to reach our den. He promised to see me home, but it seems he was rather faithless in that."
Nárya tilted her head at him, another lite joke in her voice, as if she were covering her worry with humor, " He wasn't very good company anyway. He wanted only one thing from me, and it wasn't a romantic night gazing at the stars. No manners at all, that one.

Brier felt himself actually blush at her last comment, berry-hued eyes wandering across the ground as he cast about for the appropriate thing to say, yet sadly his training had lacked any section on the management of rogue females. The only one he knew and spent any time with, was his own sister.
"Well... umm.. I am gladdened then. It would be unfortunate if you had been missed by your kin." mentally flailing he struggled to come up with a polite way to decline her hint to walk her home. He could not afford to be away so long, his sister was wonderful but utterly hopeless at defense and he could not leave her in this wild land undefended... But how could he escape while not betraying his vows as a warrior and protector when this female clearly needed an escort. The answer was clear, even if he tried not to see.
"I am sorry to hear of your misfortune of the eve, Ma'am. I.. I would be honored if you would give me the task of accompanying you back to your sister." Ears dipping he resigned himself to a fruitless trip out into the savannah... he would have to hurry along and hope Dahlia didn't miss him for too long.

Nárya had to hold in the giggle at his slightly flustered response, and those darling little droopy ears! Why she could just eat him up! Giving him her best thankful smile, she stood up and stretched out full length in her best innocently seductive way, she hadn't had to use that trick in awhile.
Smiling at him gratefully, she let it light her amber eyes, " Thank you, I know it will take time out of your day. I am sure Ilyn has already hunted, enough for at least four, she knows I was to bring that cad home. Let me repay your kindness by sharing the meal with you. It would be such a shame to let it go to waste."
Nárya gave him her best 'please don't say no pout and came up to stand beside him, her shoulder just barely brushing his, " Shall we?"

He got the feeling he was seriously out of his depth with this female, but he had no idea how to extract himself from the situation, and he had been brought up too well to flat out refuse and offer offence. "It is my pleasure as well as my duty." he replied, resigning himself to a long detour before he could return to his sister, though he had no intention of saying to eat with the cheetah and her sister, that was entirely to long and he had to get back to Dahlia's side as soon as he could.
"We shall see..." He replied carefully, tensing at the brush of warm fur against his flank before subtly moving sideways enough that a slither of space separated them. "Certainly Ma'am.. please lead on." Holding in the sigh that threatened to spill free, he schooled his features into the impassive knight he was supposed to be, and set off with her at his side.

Flicking her tail Nárya smiled over her shoulder at him, the look caught half way between thankful for the escort and come hither. She really couldn't help it. It was far to easy to ruffle his fur, and this kind of entertainment so early in the morning was such a rare treat!
With a swish of her tail, she trotted of without hesitation toward home, knowing that Ilyn would not be near half surprised that she showed up with a different male then she had left with. Her twin was well used to her shenanigans. At least they never stayed, which both were thankful for, perhaps Ilyn more then she.
