User ImageName: Paris Donatien LeFay

Nickname: “Paree” by people who think they’re being clever.
XXXXXXXXX"Baby" by his mother, and sometimes Chris.
XXXXXXXXX"Precious" by Chris's mother.

Age: 16 17 18

Birthday: February 18th (1994)

Sign: Aquarius-Pisces Cusp

Gemstone: Garnet

Blood Type: B-

Fav. Food: Lots of fruits, including but not limited to apples (especially golden delicious), bananas, pears, strawberries, blue berries, and watermelon. Salads typically accompany his meals when he dines out (frequently at home as well), and he tends to eat a lot of deli sandwiches. He loves chocolate. And raspberry sherbet.

Paris tries his best to eat healthy (or at least his idea of “healthy”). Since he’s begun to seriously consider his future in dancing, he’s been paying a little more attention to his diet to make sure he’s taking in enough calories and eating all the right vitamins and minerals to keep his body working right. He eats a lot of breads and pastas and poultry dishes, and drinks plenty of water, smoothies, shakes and decaffeinated teas. He also eats his fruits and vegetables and enjoys them. His biggest fault in the food department is relying a bit too much on protein bars when a busy day precludes a more wholesome option.

Hated Food: Red meat, seafood, Jello, okra, hotdogs, fast food, and coffee. He avoids caffeine like the plague.

School: Recently acquired his GED. Will be attending DCU in the fall, aiming for his BFA in Dance.

Hobbies:

Dance – Paris has been dancing since he was a toddler, when his mother enrolled him in weekly classes for small children. Later, he began taking youth lessons and has worked his way up to more advanced classes over the years. He loves dancing. He’s studied a variety of forms, from ballet to hip-hop to jazz, among others, though his main focus has been and remains ballet. He needs structure in some area of his generally unstructured life, and he’s found that in ballet. By the time he turned 11, Paris began learning to dance en pointe, a technique that is more commonly performed by women. If he could have a career in any field, he would want it to be in dance, whether it be performing or teaching. He used to give lessons to some of the kids in his old neighborhood, and he's always open to giving some tips or pointers. Occasionally, he entertains the thought of opening his own studio one day and offering classes to disadvantaged children.

Music – Perhaps a byproduct of his love for dance, Paris has a fondness for music as well. He likes to listen to music, he likes to dance to music, and he likes to sing to music. He even fancies himself an able singer. No matter where he is or what he’s doing, especially when he’s cooking or sitting around at work, chances are he has music playing somewhere. His favored genres are pop, soft rock, and classical, but he’ll listen to anything and probably like it well enough. He likes musicals, adores a night out for karaoke, and used to sneak into clubs not just for the social interactions, but for the music and dancing. One of the few things he wishes he were able to do is play an instrument, so recently he's begun to have his boyfriend teach him how to play the guitar.

Fashion – Ever since he hit puberty, Paris has had an eye for fashion. Especially when he discovered that he felt quite comfortable in female attire—more so than male clothing—he became very conscious of what he put on his body. He loves shopping. He loves spending money on shoes, skirts, tops and cute accessories. He doesn’t care so much for high fashion, nor is he concerned with labels and designer brands. His top priority is to wear things that look nice, attract attention, or have the desired effect of highlighting his figure and his more feminine features. He’ll pair a top he got from Wal-Mart with a pair of designer jeans he found at the Good Will if he thinks they look good together. That isn’t to say he doesn’t like expensive things and isn’t willing to spend money on them, he simply doesn’t think clothing requires a name attached to it in order to look nice. He’s spent a lot of time expanding his wardrobe over the years, and is always on the lookout for new pieces to add to his collection.

Socializing – Get him in the right mood and Paris loves to talk. About anything. Boys, the weather, dance, school, celebrities, movies, work, music, dance, boys, dance. He loves meeting people. Even if they’re a complete jackass, he’d rather have someone to talk to than no one at all. He loves going to parties, he likes shopping with friends, or going to the movies, or going to the beach, or anything else that involves being around other people. He likes that feeling of being alive that he gets when he’s with friends or attending some social function where everyone is laughing, dancing, perhaps drinking, and just generally enjoying themselves. Life’s too short to spend alone!

Virtues:

Resilient – Paris has had a lot go wrong in his life—from his mother leaving to his dad getting sick, being kicked out of one school and dropping out of another, ruining relationships with people he’s come to care about, becoming a senshi and experiencing more life and death situations than anyone his age should ever have to face—but he’s never let it beat him. He’s tripped and he’s stumbled and he’s fallen through life, but through it all he’s managed to rise up and keep pushing himself forward. He’s felt useless, he’s felt worthless, he’s felt stupid and out of control, yet he remains determined to prove himself, to pick himself up and make his way through his problems in the hopes that things will be better on the other side. He won’t let anything stop him from getting what he wants and reaching his dreams. He won’t admit defeat until he’s exhausted all of his resources and done everything he possibly can to solve a problem and make things right. Physical pain, emotional pain—he fights through them both, and if he sees other people struggling along the way he’ll encourage them to do the same. He’s spent a lot of time questioning himself. He knows how difficult it can be, and though he might falter, he’s never given up.

Self-Accepting – Honesty is the best policy. Paris, of course, has had his moments. No one is perfect. He’s lied and cheated and done some bad things, but overall he tries to be as honest and true to himself as he possibly can. He doesn’t want to live life hiding in the shadows. He doesn’t want to spend time agonizing over what people think of him, because in the end the only opinions that matter are his own and those of the people he cares about most. He knows who he is as a person. He’s accepted it, he’s grown comfortable with it, and he expresses himself without fear or shame. He will talk about himself—his hobbies, his beliefs, his dreams, his sexuality—and not concern himself with how he comes off to people. He knows what his flaws are. He thinks of himself highly, but he knows he’s not perfect. He’s accepted that. He can take criticism from others because most of the time it isn’t anything he doesn’t already know about himself. The first step to accepting others is accepting yourself, and Paris strives to live a life where he can be true to who he is.

Passionate – Paris feels things very strongly. Few of his emotions ever slip under the radar and it’s generally rather easy for other people to know what or how he’s feeling at any given time. When he’s happy, he likes to share his happiness with others; he’ll smile, he’ll dance with joy, he’ll laugh and sing and be merry and try to coax others to join him. At the same time, when he’s angry about something, people are going to know. Rarely does anyone have to question what he’s thinking or how he’s feeling, because chances are he’s going to express it in one way or another. When he hates, he hates deeply, but when he loves, he truly loves with all of his heart and every last ounce of his being. When he cares for someone, he will do whatever he can to be with them, to see them happy and safe and healthy, and to take care of them when they’re incapable of taking care of themselves. When he believes in something, he’ll see it through to the very end.

Decisive – Paris knows exactly what he wants. He doesn’t always know how to get it, or which path is the best to follow, but he doesn’t usually waste much time worrying about it. When he sees something he wants, he goes for it. When something happens to throw a wrench in his life, he makes a plan to try and move passed it without agonizing over it or thinking “What if I’m making the wrong choice?” If he ends up being wrong, he’ll worry about fixing it later. After spending so much time wallowing about some of the things that happened in his past, Paris has grown to focus more on the here and now, and what he can do in the present to get the sort of future he wants for himself. He sets goals for himself and then he plows right in and fights tooth and nail to achieve them. He doesn’t want to waste a lot of time struggling to decide what he wants from life and then forget to actually live it. He knows what he is, he knows what he’s capable of, and when he wants something he’s going to go for it.

Flaws:

Vain – Acknowledging what his weaknesses are means Paris is also very well aware of his strengths, and he’s proud of them. He knows he’s attractive. He might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but he knows he’s pretty and he spends a lot of time promoting his looks—with the right clothing, with make-up, primping and preening and generally taking his time to make sure that he always looks good. He knows he’s a very, very good dancer. He’s rarely questioned that. He doesn’t look down on other people who may not quite be at his level skill-wise, but he definitely makes sure they know he’s better. He’s put a lot of time and effort into it, and it’s been a struggle at points to get the sort of roles he’s wanted, so when he finally does manage it he’s going to fall prey to a little vanity. He likes to feel good about himself. It can make him seem quite full of himself, and in certain situations he is. He wants praise, especially on occasions when he thinks he deserves it.

Cynical – He displays a very confident image, but deep down Paris is convinced that the world is against him, and that it’s up to him to do what he can to fight back and claim what he deserves. Even though he hides very little of what he is from people, he suspects other people aren’t always as honest with him or with themselves. He doesn’t think there are very many people who can truly understand him—not his friends, and certainly not his parents. The person he trusts first and foremost is himself. He’s been through a lot, and he’s become bitter because of it. It’s been a struggle to learn how to work with other people, and though he’s managed it, his still retains some reservations. He expects the worst to happen—partly because he doesn’t want to be disappointed by allowing himself to feel too much hope, and partly because very little has happened to prove to him otherwise. Even when things are going right, there’s always the danger that something will come along to ruin it.

Overbearing – Because Paris feels things so strongly, there’s always the chance that he’ll go overboard, and he does frequently. When he truly cares about someone, he can get into the habit of nagging and hovering and clinging too tight. He likes to take care of the people who’ve managed to carve out a place in his carefully guarded heart, whether it’s making sure they’re eating right and hounding them until they do, or forcing himself into their business and trying to tell them exactly how they should solve their problems. Alternatively, when he disagrees with people or doesn’t appreciate something someone’s done, they can be sure that he’ll let them know it. He will shout someone down if he firmly believes in what he’s saying and he will criticize people when he thinks they’ve done something wrong. He projects his emotions, which means there’s a pretty good chance the people around him are going to notice them in some way, whether they take them as their own or end up being the victim of one of his emotional outbursts.

Hypocritical – One of the many things Paris dislikes is unfair expectations, yet he holds other people to some pretty high standards, and if they don’t live up to those standards, they’ll know exactly how angry and disappointed he is in them. Part of it is due to his inability to trust so easily—when he does trust, he expects people to live up to it without fault, even if he knows that he himself is imperfect and it would be impossible for anyone to be anything but—and the other part of it is perhaps due to how highly he views himself. He does and says things that he would not like in other people, and then criticizes them for doing the very same things he’s done himself. He’s quick to blame others, often forgetting until he’s done so that there have been points that he hasn’t lived up to the standards he places on them. Paris is capable of self-acceptance and self-criticism, and he thinks everyone should be the same.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: A bright, vibrant turquoise. Large and round, with long, dark lashes, frequently lengthened and darkened more with mascara.

Hair: Naturally curly (lots of ringlets and waves), pale, Swedish blond in color, and cut in layers with side-swept bangs. He goes back and forth between keeping it curly and straightening it, depending on his mood or the look he’s going for. It reaches to around his shoulder blades. He pulls it up into a bun or ponytail when he dances. Otherwise, he experiments with a variety of styles (braids, updos, ponytails, etc.). His go-to “fancy” style is a classy French twist.

Face: Round and fine-boned with very delicate, feminine features. Very fair skinned with slightly rosy cheeks, high cheek-bones, naturally long lashes, and full lips.

Physique: 5’3” inches tall. Short, but long-legged. Narrow-shouldered and feminine, with nicely shaped thighs and calves. On the skinny side of thin. Probably no more than 110 pounds on a good day, and likely even lighter than that. Deceptively delicate, but he’s really rather sturdy despite being so short and slender, and he has impeccable posture.

Clothes: Usually skirts and shorts, sometimes over leggings, tights, or with knee-high or thigh-high stockings. He hates pants (jeans, slacks, anything that fits loosely on the legs); he doesn’t feel as if he can move properly in them, but he’ll wear them if he has to, or if they look good with the outfit. Tops vary, though he tries to wear ones that are figure flattering. He also has a thing for cute, trendy hats, and adores a good pair of heels. Typically, he wears clothes in pinks, blues, and greens, though sometimes he’ll work some red or purple in there.

As soon as I started playing him, I realized how much I hated his attacks. I didn’t bother to change his Super attack at all, but I figured I might as well at least try coming up with something a little different for his Eternal, and wrote up a little something after getting a few suggestions.

This is his crappy older attack:
Quote:
Lover's Revenge
Ganymede's final attack diverges a bit from the previous two. When struck with this attack, the enemy begins to experience a sense of urgency - a hyper-desperation to accomplish their goals. At the same time, Ganymede's power begins to drain them of their energy. The more the enemy attempts to act on their intentions and the more urgent they become, the more energy is drained from them. This attack lasts a little longer than the previous two, usually fading after about 40 seconds, and can be used once.

And this is what I came up with for a new one:
Quote:
Searing Passion
The enemy's focus temporarily narrows upon a single, abstract desire. They don't know what or who it is, they simply know that they want it and would do anything to have it. This desire also manifests itself in a physical sensation, a heating of the body that grows progressively stronger throughout the duration of the attack, until the target feels as if they are burning up from the inside. They're likely to feel weak and disoriented once the attack has burned itself out.

The attack itself reaches its peak after about 45 seconds, and can only be used on a single enemy within a twenty foot radius. While it could be used twice if absolutely necessary, it is physically draining on Ganymede and would commonly only be used once during battle.

IDK Profile but I can do attacks

Just for quick ref, I'd post a link to the old journal for quick comparisons. (So much easier ;A; )Also IDK his appearance needed since tech that has no true significant bearing on anything else. XD

His last 2 attacks were distraction based, so this makes him a support senshi. <- ref

His revised attack has a point which makes it a very possible, (and likely) backfire.
'They are suddenly incapable of doing anything but thinking about that which they desire most (a person, a thing, an outcome). The obsession becomes so strong that they are quickly overcome by it.'

If he's in battle using this on an enemy they are probably going into 'beat the ******** s**t out of rage mode'. And most people when they fly into unfathomable rage, get stronger because of it. This is a potentially huge backfire attack. So IDK if you want him to effect emotions like that in particular (even if I get the basis behind the idea).
Also, he's a senshi of lust, not desire, so having it go off of desire is... sorta stepping out of his power? Lust is sexual in nature, while desire can both be sexual but for the majority is not. So having an attack based on desire seems close to being out of place/his actual sphere- does that make sense?

My person opinion is... I really dislike emotion modifiers. Mostly because it pretty much always comes off to me as pre-determining my character for me? IDK how to phrase it well, but emotions are something that I really like utilizing in battles and RPs since they are building blocks for inner character growth. So when I'm told 'X is going to feel Y' It's like...uh no they wont? It makes me want to not have that happen out of spite. However that is my personal opinion.

Back to non personal.
His attack does a LOT of things
-Emotion altering
-Sweating
-Difficulty breathing
-Rapid heart rate
-Painful temperature spike (BOILING IS P. PAINFUL)
Resulting in: Lingering weakness, disorientation

Again, while I can understand the basis, its a bit much for just one attack. I am guessing it's the physical responses to intense desire(?) Still its a bit overkill and comes off as OP. It's no longer supportive but now coming out as semi-offensive (esp with the heat, breathing and heart rate) Since those can be and are, physically painful things to have happen.
What I might suggest to place him in the more supportive role as he's a support senshi is one of two things

-cut the effects down (either in number or intensity) and leave it at disorientation/temporary weakness
OR
- Try physical hypersensitivity.

^ the reason I suggest this is when people do fall into an emotionally intense state, they often become hyper sensitive to their surroundings, and with lust (which is sexual) that is often physical. While that attack itself doesn't cause pain, it facilitates pain. His last two attacks I can see letting an enemy open for wailing. This vers. would make those attacks pretty much double up. (at least they would be perceived as such by the one it's effecting, attacks wouldn't actually double in power <__> ).

“Lust” and “desire” are pretty synonymous to one another, and while there’s potential for someone else to come along and use “desire” as a sphere, I’d expect there’d be a bit of crossover, as the two are fairly close to one another (though “desire” is perhaps a bit more of a broader term). While I admit I did draw heavily from the more sexualized meaning of “lust” in his design and original pattern of behavior, “lust” itself is not strictly limited to things that are sexual in nature. It does, of course, define pleasure, delight, and sexual passion, but it also incorporates many of the same things that are defined more loosely by “desire,” such as wishing for something, craving or longing for something (not necessarily sexual in nature; a lust to succeed or a lust for power, for example), or enthusiasm and eagerness (lust for life, etc.). From around the 1000s to the 1400s the term was much less sexual in its usage than it is now. Calling someone a “lusty youth” typically meant they were lively, merry and healthy, whereas today we think of it more along the lines of someone driven by their hormones.

So, yes, you’re completely right that there are plenty of sexual connotations, but I’ve tried that route and haven’t liked it much, so now I’m trying to work off of a broader interpretation (probably not very well, I admit, but, hey, that’s what this is up here for!). XD;

I think I’m going to wait until one of the mods has time to look it over before making any extensive changes to the attack, but I see what you’re saying and I’ll definitely keep all that in mind while I’m tweaking it. I can see how emotional modifiers are a bit tricky (I don’t exactly like being told “your character must feel/do this” either), which is why I tried to design the attack in such a way that allowed for different people to sort of pick and choose who or what their character would develop a passion for. What they want would be different depending on who they are and what their motivations are, but the physical effects of it (the increased heart rate, etc.) would remain the same.

I can definitely see how it could backfire, too. :[a One of the things I hated about his first two attacks (aside from the fact that they were just sucky in general, but then the entire sphere has been a pain, so that’s not really surprising) is that they could very easily backfire on him and send the youma/Nega into a sort of berserker mode, so he never really used his magic unless he absolutely had to as a means of temporarily distracting an opponent. I’m not sure how to go about negating the berserker possibility.

He was definitely more of a supportive senshi before (though how supportive can obviously be debated, all things considered), but I wasn’t under the impression that he had to remain that way in his Eternal form. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the first two attacks (normal and Super) had to be fairly close/similar to one another (an initial attack and then an upgraded form of that same attack), but the Eternal attack could go a different route and didn’t have to necessarily follow the same purpose (supportive, in this case) as the first two. I tried the supportive route and didn’t like it much (though that’s completely my fault for designing his attacks the way I did), which was why I wanted to try something a little more semi-offensive this time around if it’s allowable.

A couple of different passages I’ve been trying to work with and draw inspiration from in coming up with a new attack are as follows: “In Dante's Purgatorio, the penitent walks within flames to purge himself of lustful/sexual thoughts and feelings. In Dante's Inferno, unforgiven souls of the sin of lust are blown about in restless hurricane-like winds symbolic of their own lack of self-control to their lustful passions in earthly life.” But it’s proven very difficult and I admit to not being the most creative person when it comes to things like magic, and I definitely don’t want to be stepping into any other spheres/areas in the process. :[a

Anyway, thank you, Vamps, for the suggestions, tips and advice! Again, I’ll be keeping all of this in mind and writing out a few things on the side to see what else I can come up with while leaving it as is for now to see what the mods have to say about it, but I really appreciate you taking the time to look over it and let me know what you think!

I feel pretty much the same way Vamps does about this attack. You were very specific in choosing senshi of lust, and so it seems out of their sphere to step on what a senshi of desire might go with. Lust is typically a physical response, so why not just have the attack effect them physically? It's sort of OP to say what a character has to be thinking/feeling. For instance, what if what they desire most makes them angry?

Also, I've never truly understood why they smell something sweet and floral, when something musky and body odorish would be more accurate, if we're talking lust and body chemistry.

Now, if they're incapable of doing anything because of their PHYSICAL REACTION to those magical pheromones [but could think whatever they wanted, leaving it to the player to determine the exact reaction] it'd come across as more lust-based?

Like, if they're body reacted strongly as if over-come with physical lust, you know, weak knees, wobbly, uh... other issues, and all that. It's equally difficult to fight, without stepping outside of his sphere.

In response to this, I'll direct you to the first paragraph of my response to Vamps above, just so I'm not repeating myself too much. XD; Lust does not simply define cravings of a sexual nature, though that is the more common definition and definitely what I initially went with, but not something I'm all that stoked about continuing, to be honest. Forcing him into such a strict definition for the sphere when the word itself is truly a bit more broad has been more trouble than it's worth, in my opinion.

The sweet, floral smell was developed in response to a suggestion I received in his initial quest: the use of a pheromone trap (all of his attacks have had something to do with the sense of smell for that reason, as sort of a lure, but I'm not opposed to doing away with it, as I don't think I did a very good job going that route to begin with). I don't imagine people would be as receptive to a more musty BO smell as they would something that's more light and appealing.

I was definitely trying to make the attack have more physical than mental effects, and tried to leave as many options open as possible to allow players to have their characters react as they wish with a specific cause/basis (in this case, lust/passion/etc., not necessarily sexual in nature, as you can have a lust or passion for many different things). That was the intended purpose of the sweats and rapid heartbeat and the sort of internal burning sensation, all sort of reactions to a more sexualized "lust," I admit, without getting to the point where those "other issues" come into play. XD; The intention was for players to be able to choose what their characters wanted and what their exact reaction to the mental stimuli would be, but perhaps I've not done a good enough job allowing for that. :[a

I'll have to tweak things some more! XD Thanks for taking the time to look over it, too! I could definitely use all the help I can get!

I did already read your response to Vamps, it simply didn't assuage my concerns about stepping into another sphere's realm of power, though I understand you waiting on a mod's opinion.

I don't have a problem with it being floral, I just didn't understand the motivation [since it IS, apparently, pheromone based?], my reasoning being the following:

Animals, which humans are, are attracted sexually to the natural odors of someone they're attracted to. Since it's magical, Ganymede could be giving off the body odor that their target would be stimulated by automatically. Floral scents are not human skin/body scents. I'd be talking about a type of pheromone, which does, as a matter of fact, come from the armpits, chest, and pubic regions, and is a type of body odor.

Those that you're attracted to typically have a body odor you find appealing, often a 'musky, sweet' sort of smell. The truth is, folks tend to like the body odor of those with immune systems genetically different to their own, and dislike the scents of those that have one very similar. It's sort of a way of making sure folks keep genetic diversity in their mating?

So, basically, Ganymede has his own, naturally, that some folks would find sexually appealing, and think he smells good, whereas other people would think his BO was disgusting. However, when he used his abilities, it would amplify and magically alter that scent to be appealing to anyone, rather than the random smell of pie floating in the air.

I get what you're saying, but as his powers haven't been attracting anyone to him, or even to anyone else, for that matter (nor were they designed to do that), I typically haven't gone with the musky body smells and use the pheromone trap suggestion as more of a basis for an idea instead of following it to a T. With his previous two attacks, there's been a distracting smell present but it was left up to the player to decide what that was (most people chose something food related, like, "Mmmm, apple pie~"). In this attack it was designed to have more of a lulling effect (hence something sweet and floral, although now that I think about it, I don't generally find those sorts of smells to be as calming as, say, fresh linen, so if I keep it I'll have to rework that a bit so that it's more up to personal preference) before the onset of the physical symptoms, but again, I'm not opposed to getting rid of it completely and tweaking things so it's strictly physical and/or scrapping it and starting over.

I do feel that as Ganymede is the Senshi of Lust, which while is a form of desire is nearly always used to reference a sexual desire (which differentiates the sphere of Lust from spheres such as Hunger, Greed, Gluttony, Desire, Craving, etc.), his powers should have some sexual energy behind it instead of broadening the term to cover all desires.

If your worry is over-sexualizing Ganymede, then don't worry - he is/should be a sexual character as the Senshi of Lust.
If your worry is that sexual powers would be dictating player's interactions, then yes - depending on the way its done.

I think a power for Ganymede's Eternal Stage could be a pheromene secretion that emits in a broad area with no source. It causes some of the physical symptoms of attraction or hyper sexual arousal, such as the ones you mentioned. It would not, however, have to cause any emotional or mental blockage and as the pheromones are spread throughout the area without any source it does not force the character to mentally focus the feeling of attraction onto anyone or anything.

Alternatively, I think you could also play with the idea of fantasy - that is, perhaps hallucinogenic effects that cause the opponents to view Ganymede not as himself, but as whoever it is that they have a strong sexual yearning for, which could impact their inhibitions. Whatever Ganymede does, they'd see the person they lust for do instead, so they'd essentially be hallucinating fighting with their sexual fantasy. The level of impact from this would vary from character to character, of course.

I think there is a lot you can do with the sphere of Lust, and I wouldn't downplay its sexual nature. Lust is his sphere, and while it may be "synonymous with desire" it is even more synonymous with sexual desire. Have fun with it, don't feel limited by it. wink

The only problem I see with the suggestions being given is that Sunshine has stated that she doesn't want to use the pheromone attack. Which is why she's changing it. His first two were phermone based.

She wants him to have at least a slightly offensive attack, if not full out. And having a sexual sphere is much too limiting, especially when keeping everything tasteful and as awkward-less as possible for people who might have a problem with it.

Another problem with the idea of using sexual fantasies of a person someone lusts for is... sometimes people really just don't lust for anyone. It's bad enough that his normal attacks are rarely used, but if people aren't even affected by his eternal, then what's the point? And what does a youma have a sexual fantasy about? Awkward...

It's his eternal attack. I like the idea of the "burning desire/lust" effect. I think Ganymede has come a long way and it kind of sucks being limited to the "sexual" part of the sphere when that's the part she has come to hate about it. Working with a sucky sphere because of how it makes others feel about her character isn't very motivational. She's not having fun with it, which is why she wants to change it.

Besides... there are a good handful of perfectly acceptable eternal attacks that have basically nothing to do with their sphere, except for maybe a little element of it. I'm not saying that Sun should do something completely unrelated to lust, but being so nitpicky about it when there are others that are fine isn't really helpful.

@Spy -- I actually sort of like that idea. :[a I'd have to make sure the physical symptoms are clearly defined, as we don't want anyone taking things a little too far and brushing that barrier of PG-13 and beyond, but that's not difficult. Although, like Guine said, it does beg the question "who/what does a youma fantasize about?", but that's something I can work with and generally play with or gloss over in youma patrol battles. I do like how the attack would sort of camouflage him as whoever the opponent yearns for. It could produce the issue of them getting too close, but at the same time they'd be more unlikely to attack during that time period, and the physical symptoms would be in place as well. :[a Not only that, but it definitely still allows for players to play around with it -- they could make it something funny or something dramatic depending on what they want from and for their character at any given time. Thank you for that idea! I'll definitely have to look into that and write something up!

@Guine -- I can't remember if I ever said I don't want to use the pheromone attack, unless I said that specifically to you and my brain's just derping out on me. :[a This is entirely possible. Horrible sleeping habits will do that (although I know I said I wouldn't mind nixing it). You bring up a couple of good points. I have felt at times as if using the more sexual definition of lust is too limiting, but that's my fault for being a derp and using it in the first place. Ideally, I would like to somehow incorporate a broader definition, but if I can get help coming up with a perfectly good attack then I'm not going to get picky in how the sphere itself is defined. You're right that some people don't feel any sort of lust for anyone, but in that case what Spy suggested could always run more along the lines of general attraction. Take Chris, for example. As far as I am aware, he isn't lusting after anyone at the moment, but the attack could always work to make him visualize someone he had an attraction for in the past (Skye, maybe) or even some random model he saw in a magazine. It doesn't necessarily have to be another character in the shop; it'd be left up to who/what the player wants their character to see, so someone could see him as, like, Scarlett Johansson while someone else could see him as Chris.

He is a senshi of lust and while it's cool you don't want him to be this walking whatever, twisting it so he's pretty much reaching out of the sphere and defining it purely as desire is.. Well if would be like me saying because Castor is hail, he gets an attack where ice covers an enemy. Which is more attributed to Frost and has nothing to do with falling ice. While they both are related (via ice), they are very defined in just what they are. Lust has always been attributed to sexuality and sexual desire; and lust is something clearly defined in this manner, even historically. What I'm getting at is, Spy hit the nail on the head that the attack should have some sexual related attribute because that is simply what lust is. Sexual. This can be direct or semi-indirect. But don't drag it straight from desire? Its sort of like-
If the attack is X how does it relate to lust specifically? At best you want to be able to have a direct relation to the sphere and attack. Truthfully, you would probably see less nitpick if you didn't define it as desire and just defined aspects as lust. If you you are deadset on making lust utterly abouse desire, perhaps take it like this:
Lust, along with the 7 sins, all factor in desire, but it's also about INTENSITY. Lust is intense sexual desire. You can from that, play off of the intensity factor!

Spy was also was A+ in the fact it's just how you take it. A sphere is never limiting! It just again, boils down to how you take it an make it relate.
The hallucination does beg the question of 'what does a youma lust for' which...probably would go back to the 'DEATH 4 U' :C. I think you might want to avoid the 'see him as X' since then it can get a bit squick if that person is like... freaky? I know it seems a bit weird and very unlikely to happen, but its sort of a gauge of 'how would this apply in ALL situations' What if he used it on a civi and they were into furries? It would probably never happen in RP, but it would be a possibility using the 'all situations'. You'd probably have the disclaimer of 'can break with strong willpower' again but like... anybody can claim that sadly, which can result in his power being brushed off. Which from experience, sucks a lot.

I would say if you want him to be semi-offensive, stick to the physical effects and those alone backing them up with how they directly relate to lust. If you tack on the illusion, its running off as 'way to many things going on once'. Because then it's like, not only are they dealing with physical s**t, they got mental s**t going on.

Those affected by lust usually experience:
-Tunnel vision/one focus and one focus alone
-Poor decision making
-the need to satisfy something
-either pain from not achieving what they lust for (metal or.. lol physical)
-OR a sense of relaxation from being close to getting what they want

Suggestions:
- Cut back on the effects since 5-6 effects is just way to many, or make them relatively minor while all happening at the same time. If all the effects are intense, it's semi-OP. Where as if they are all minor but go into one MAJOR it reads a bit better and opens a bit more doors via RP.
Heart rate, temp. breath are three big things on their own, and compounding them is just overkill. BUT if they are all minor but result IN one major thing, such as disorientation, it is less OP since then people can play with the three qualities BUT the actual battle changing effect is clear and can't be brushed off.
- Focus on ONE aspect of the attack (such as the body temperature spike, or heart rate) (I agree with Guine that the temp is pretty good, considering lust is usually associated with passion, red, heat, and flames. Our body are v. sensative to changes, and heat is like GFDI and painful to some extent. This also would work into how lust is considered an intense form of desire)
-Make someone feel they can't obtain satisfaction, frustration that bored on painful. I know it seems a bit LOLWUT but hear me out. When you lust for something it's a lot of the time about getting a sense of satisfaction. What if his attack made his enemy disoriented (via the effects BUT in lesser intensity, going back to the making them minor to create a bigger), making it harder for them to attack? (Like what happens when a person is fuel by lust they can't focus on anything BUT that, and they can't see straight)
tl;DR: Up the aggro, make them so disoriented they can't land a good hit.
-Make the lust less, aka turn down the aggro
-Divert their attention to something else via lust. Like, he makes something look like what his enemy hates EVEN MORE. So they see their arch nemesis taunting them when really... it's a brick wall. They attack that... lolpain
-Make them lust for their OWN defeat. A round about way of making them lose confidence
-lust for pain, not lol masochist, but they sort of go numb to attacks, but once wears off, all the attacks? They seem to hit at once

One of the things to remember is even if the attack is support or doesn't CREATE pain, it can facilitate it or result in it.

Example: The senshi of beads traps an enemy. It doesn't cause damage but think about that in a battle. While trapped, they are the perfect target. It's a support move, but even for the senshi himself it's a way to create an advantage, just what support is. That's why I suggested the hyper sensitivity. While it may not cause pain, it is a hugely beneficial asset that both he and others can use.

I get it's a bit frustrating, but it's just a matter of sticking to what you started with. Lust is lust, no two ways about it. So when you define it as desire and remove what makes lust different it's a bit 'wat'.

I poked around the OED and noticed that the modern definitions note that they imply a sexual passion that may be immoral or sinful. I'm no good at helping with attacks, but I think that could be an angle to take.

Sunshine Alouette

I think the concept of Searing Passion works just fine as an Eternal attack for a senshi of Lust, but you do need to simplify what's going on with it.

You have a lot of effects here, but it can work if you just boil it down to 1. they are psychologically consumed by a singular desire, and 2. the desire is literally a burning desire, causing them to physically feel like they are burning up from the inside. It's the same basic concept, but with an appropriate amount of effects instead of the several you have listed. c:

Way to go me for forgetting about this. sweatdrop Whoopsie.

Mouse Pachinkorelli

Thank you, Mouse! I went in and edited the attack to hopefully read more along the lines of what you suggested. I wasn't sure about an appropriate number of uses, as I think I've seen some Eternals only able to use their attack once and others multiple times, so for now I have it written as one use with the potential for two if absolutely necessary. I won't mind changing it either way!
