Ding dong, ding dong, ding dong!!

The triple jab at the doorbell of Ellie's house was a loud and enthusiastic declaration of the equally loud and enthusiastic person waiting outside.

Halloween wasn't something Aitana had had a whole lot of experience. They didn't really celebrate it in Brazil. They did have Finados, but that was far more respectful and less fun. She had been to a couple of halloween parties though, but trick or treating was a brand new experience. And the 16 year old looked more like a 6 year old trying to soak in every aspect of the holiday and celebrations. A zombie party was the highlight of the night, but first she just HAD to try a little trick or treating.

She had already received a few confused looks from the adults within the homes she'd hit first, but they'd begrudingly given her candy anyway. So onward to Ellie's house for both candy and to invite her to the party. That was what a good friend did of course! Drag people to fun party times.

When Ellie opened the door she would find the brazilian still recognizable, but dressed as the comic book heroine Wonder Woman. A bag quickly thrusted outwards with a grin stretching completely across her tanned face. "Tricks and/or Treats!"

That doorbell was annoying.

Super annoying.

Her family had never been one for spoiling the Trick-or-Treaters in all honesty. Her parents weren't usually around or were too tired to really deal with the little kids in their costumes. As endearing as it was to see little Timmy from down the lane in his little fireman uniform, her parents honestly had better things to do. So even if her family was home, they usually just left a bowl of candy on the porch and left the lights off at the door.

So whoever was at the door was either unobservant about the common courtesies of the holiday or really desperate for candy (assuming the bowl was now empty). Knowing the neighborhood she grew up in, it was probably the second one. With a groan, the blonde got herself up off the couch and made her way to the door to open it. Last thing she needed was her mom or dad coming down the stairs to complain about the amount of noise.

The moment the door was opened though, Ellie regret that decision 100%. She had a bag shoved up in front of her and a girl a couple years younger than herself decked out like some comic book prostitute. She'd probably be any nerd's fantasy wearing that outfit.

A quick glance around the girl revealed that the candy bowl had been flipped over and looked quite empty.

"...uh... yeah... we're outta candy..." she uttered out, using her good arm to point to the bowl outside.

Looks of confusion, 'Aren't you a little old for this?', amused grins... Aitana had received all those reactions and more so far. But the reaction Ellie gave she had not been expecting in the least, and her head seemed to c**k slightly sideways in response. No candy...? No candy!

Well that was a bummer. Her arms lowered once more to her side, but it was only momentarily before they lifted again, shaking the bag mildly. "You want some candy? I can share if you want."

"What are you being anyway? It looks very cool but I am not sure." She asked, eying Ellie's cast with soft interest. It looked very realistic, but realistically what? "I am Wonder Woman." She added matter of factly after a moment.

It seemed that even without the promise of candy Aitana seemed uninclined to leave, but her hands were held too far into the doorway for Ellie to simply shut the door. Not without hitting the other girl atleast.

Ellie easily groaned at the offer of sweets. "Ungh... gross... no, I don't want any of yer candy!" The blonde and sweets had never been a good combination. It was her Mom that had a sweet tooth, not the tomboy.

Since it seemed like the other teen didn't really have any plans of leaving now that the door was open, the blonde casually gestured to the empty bowl near Aitana. "Do me a solid and pick that up..." She might as well bring in the bowl before some of the rowdier kids decided to break the bowl.

The question about what Ellie was wearing received a very blunt "I ain't wearin' a costume." The shoulder spica cast was not optional, the blonde was recovering from what was probably a serious injury. And hating every moment of it.

Aitana wasn't unhappy in the idea of keeping all her candy, so when the offer was denied she simply lowered the bag again, grin remaining untarnished. She'd already hit her bag pretty hard along the way anyway and if Ellie wanted some she'd be inclined to eat more.

A solid? She was not sure what a solid was, and there was a look of brief confusion to confirm that. But picking up the bowl she definately could do and she leaned down to tip it up and onto her fingers upside down. Spinning the bottom of the bowl on her finger lightly before offering it forward.

"Not a costume? Does not look like very comfortable regular clothing.." She leaned in as if to inspect the cast, before recalling her secondary reason for being here and piping up.

"Well anyway, you should put on costume and come with me! There is a Halloween party I have heard of. With zombies and other cool things. Like food... and games.. and blood and zombies." How could Ellie resist!?

The urge to smack this girl across the head was rising quite quickly. Was she seriously that dense that she couldn't recognize a cast? Ellie was pretty sure that they had casts in South America (not that she had ever traveled there, so it was just a guess).

"...it ain't regular clothin'... it's a f*ckin' cast. I messed up my arm and now I gotta wear this fer a while." With her free hand, she formed a fist and knocked at the very solid covering for her left side.

When Aitana began to ramble off something about a party, one of Ellie's brows lofted up. "...uh... no..." The mention of zombies was noted, which was perhaps the only interesting thing about the sales pitch. It wasn't exactly much of a selling point though.

Instead, the blonde reached out and grabbed the bowl from the costumed girl's hand.

By some sort of miracle.. or maybe she was just made of rubber... Aitana had somehow made it through her life without breaking any bones. Surely she'd had her share of scrapes, sprains, bruises, nasty cuts, and concussions, but never a bone break.

Even as an athelete, with tons of teammates with injuries over the years she hadn't seen more then a simple arm or foot cast. But then.. she wasn't the kind to hang around hospitals and play nurse maid. She was in fact.. the kind to call incessively and b***h or complain about why they weren't back yet. And didn't they realize that they might miss a super important game or something?

Which was precisely why she didn't give a second thought to the cast and it's effects on making it difficult for Ellie to leave.

"If you are worried about not having costume we can throw something together for you. The cast is perfect for a costume anyway. Just some fake blood and some torn clothes maybe, yes?" With her free hand she grasped her chin thoughtfully, yes.. that would work quite well for a costume.

Aitana was impossible at times, and now was one of those times. In a slightly stronger tone, Ellie repeated her response from earlier. "Uh... no!" Her good hand whumped itself against the door frame for emphasis on her point.

It had honestly never been an issue of Ellie not having anything to wear. She had plenty of things to wear. Heck, several of the things sounded like what she'd wear normally. She even had her Eddie costume from the year before.

In an effort to clarify slightly, the blonde told Wonder Woman why she wasn't going. "I ain't dressin' up fer a party. I do not go t'parties, kid!" 99% of the time a "party" was an excuse to just get drunk and wasted, which had never been Ellie's style. The tomboy preferred remembering the good times she had. Even if there was some sort of zombie thing going on, she was more than certain it was all an excuse to get wasted.

Aitana might have been stubborn in her own right, but Ellie also had a pretty decent stubborn streak to her.

Finally it slipped in. The bit of information explaining what she'd before simply assumed was some no contingant on something else. Because really... who didn't go to parties? It was a foreign and strange thought that Aitana couldn't begin to get her head around, but at least she finally got the message. Ellie had even managed to draw forth a firm frown on the Brazilian girl.

"Well..."

"Alright then" She answered, her free hand lifting in a lazy half wave as she stepped back once step, and then another.

"Have fun with your Hall-o-weening then." And slowly the frown crept back up into the softest hints of a smile before she turned around, slinging her candy bag over her shoulder like a bandit.

It seemed as if Ellie was going to be a tricky one to please and figure out what she liked. Not rollerblading. Not candy. Not parties. But if anyone was stubborn enough to keep trying Aitana was up for the challenge!
