Coeus had a moment to herself, on a cliff ledge she had managed to climb up to. It wasn't very hard, and it wasn't very height, but it was very enough into the sky that Coeus was able to look at the sleeping den Papa preferred and her siblings pouncing on each other below. She didn't think they could see her. And it was a good moment to indulge herself.
Unfortunately, Coeus was indulging herself in jealousy and poutings. She stared at her tail that was without tuff at the end of it. Coeus had seen the fluffiness of the tails of her older siblings. They were beautiful. The fluffiness. The tuffs.
Maybe there was something fluffy in the wilderness that could be a substitute? Something white like Papa's mane? Or black like her own coloring so it would blend in. Or blue, her favorite color of all. Blue, Black, White. Maybe all three? Yep, all three would be best. Be prettiest on her. Coeus wanted her tri-color tuff. She didn't want to be fluffiless anymore. Fluffiless made her feel like her and her littermates weren't really Papa's. Like they were someone else's or no one's at all.

Ares was out looking for one of her younger siblings. The puff of love and fur wasn't feeling like bothering Daddy, and a cub close in size meant more games, and the green and white lioness was curious anyhow, beaming and prancing about happily as she looking.
Then she saw her younger sister and beamed, bounding over. YAY!
"Coeus!"
Ares immediately felt her protective older sister side nom her.
"Wanna play?"

Coeus jumped, startled. She'd been so far into her indulging that she hadn't seen Ares or heard her or anything. She loved her older siblings. Maybe they weren't her best of friends like Perseus or her shadow, but Ares was someone she wanted to grow up to be like. She wanted to be as happy and pretty as Ares.
Coeus bit her lip and her tail twitched with her nerves. She couldn't really speak at the moment, so she shook her head and hid her face under her paws as best as she could. She didn't really want to show Ares this embarrassing side and part of herself.
Now would be a great time to just disappear.
