Imnir yawned and stretched out his sore body, blinking at the sunlight that managed to get right in his eyes... Time to get up. He shook his head from side to side as he stood up. Today he was going out, he was tired of this little stall. The door was still open, fortunately enough for him, since Naomi requested it so he could see out while he was confined there, so he simply sauntered outside for the first time in a few days.
He let out a sigh of relief as the fresh air entered his lungs, "That's better." He said softly to himself, looking around to see if there was anyone around to talk to, or maybe just someone to pick on. Though his mood was less foul today than it had been since the fight, he was still itching to start something up.
Not seeing anyone right away, Imnir began to wander at a leisurely pace, testing his sore body and making sure he didn't walk like he was hurt or anything like that. He didn't want anyone getting the idea that he was weak.

Tramp was skulking, he could smell something delicious and sure enough there it was a string of link sausages dangling up on a hook. He glanced around nervously and then grinned and put hs shoulder against a nearby crate pushing with all his might. Inch by painful inch is finally slid across the dirt until it was closer to the delicious treat above. His stomach rumbled with hunger and he quickly moved to leap onto the crate.
He forced his body to stretch his paws clinging to the side of the wooden house as he strained his neck reaching out with his teeth and tongue. So close...so close...

Before long Imnir found himself following his nose toward a tasty smell, and as he approached he saw a scrawny mokai trying to reach the source of it.
"Just what do you think you're doing, whelp?" He barked after getting as close to the cull as he thought he could without being noticed. "Don't you know that isn't yours?" He rammed his head into the box the roughed up cull was standing on, intending to shake him down while also displaying his strength. "I ought to turn you in for trying to take such nice food for yourself, but I think I have a better idea for you..." He grinned toothily at the little thief.
"Tell you what, if you can outrun me to the end of the street..." He gestured down the road, which ended about a hundred yards away. "I'll get those tasty sausages down for you, and it'll be our little secret. I'll even give you a head start." He smirked, hoping this cull would take the bait.

Uh-oh, Tramp jumped startled and yelped as the box wobbled and he toppled off landing hard on his back.
"OOF!" He got to his paws with a low growl but the sound quickly died in his hroat as he saw the fighter. The fangs alone were warning enough not to try and be brave, the horns really emphasized the point. If he was smart he would run and forget all about the sausages and pray he could hide before this fighter beat the snot out of him.
Except of course he fighter was offering the extreme temptation of food...and Tramp's stomach rumbled encouragingly. He just had to run, which was what he had to do to avoid being caught anyway...and this way he might get a decent meal out of it.
"You're on..." He nodded at the fighter.
His back legs sprang out and his feet flew in front of him as he started to run, he was afraid to turn back, afraid to see if the fighter was gaining, his hunger was his master driving him on despite the pathetic odds.

Imnir laughed softly as he saw the cull run for it.
"Three, two, one..." Imnir let out a low growl as he counted down on the head start before bolting after his quarry. He didn't intend for either of them to make it to the end of the road any time soon, and the cull hadn't asked about any rules. Time to make this a little more fun.
The gray cull was surprisingly fast for being so skinny, but Imnir figured he was mostly running away from guys like him during his spare time anyway, so he couldn't blame him. Imnir pushed himself extra hard to catch up as quickly as he could, literally nipping at the heels of his prey in an attempt to trip him so that he could get him pinned.

Tramp managed to keep his legs pumpkin, but the first n** made him jump, and lose his stride. The second n** saw him tumbling head over feet before he flopped onto his stomach with a groan. He tried to scramble back onto his paws before the fighter had a chance to catch up or trounce him, but it was a bit late for that. Curses, he should have known there would be no juicy sausages on todays menu.

Aha, success! Imnir pounced on the prone cull and bared his teeth fiercely, "You didn't think it would be that easy, did ya pup?" He snarled, hoping to give the little thing a good scare. "Best learn to run better than that if you want to survive on my turf." This was all for show of course, much as it always was with Imnir, but this little thing... It might actually be useful for something.
Imnir swung one of his forepaws at the gray male's face a few times, landing a good whack or two before stopping and sitting down beside the cull with a suspicious look in his eyes.
"The name is Imnir, remember it." He growled, "I'm the king around these parts, so you'd best stay on my good side, you hear?" He prodded the cull again with his paw, this time in the chest, "If you stick with me and know what's good for you, well, you might just make a better life for yourself. I can offer you my protection if I think you're good enough to deserve it."

He grunted a bit as he was pounced on and tried not to snarl back at the fighter. He was used to taking a beating, the pawing didn't hurt much, he was more surprised then anything when the fighter sat down. Tramp was quick to scramble to his paws and eyed the fighter.
King of the territory? Great, like it wasn't bad enough fighting other culls for food and warm shelter, now he had to worry about the mokai who had it all wanting more. He snorted a bit and then eyed the other male distrustfully.
"I've never heard of a fighter protecting a cull...or anyone protecting a cull...ever."

"Hey, watch yourself." Imnir snapped as the cull snorted, "There's a reason I'm the king, I'm the strongest, the smartest, and I even know how to treat my loyal subjects. Don't go questioning me when I offer you things, got it?" He huffed, "You culls, everyone underestimates you, but you're tough stuff. Smart too."
It was interesting, stroking an ego other than his own, but Imnir had something he wanted and if he had to do a bit of sweet talking, by all means. He gave a little smile as he started trotting back toward where the cull had been trying to get the sausages.
"Smart enough even to know that it's a good idea to have friends in high places, don't you think?" He grinned and hopped on top of the box, jumping up and grabbing the sausage links in his powerful jaws before tossing them at the feet of the gray mokai. "For being such a good sport, you can have those even though the race didn't end in your favor."

Tramp readied himself at the sound of the snap to feel the sting of a bite, but there was none. He watched the fighter warily still before realizing he actually believed he was king. Well he wasn't about to argue with a fighter, especially not if he could get into his good graces and maybe get some food out of it.
"It's not so much underestimation as a refusal to acknowledge anything positive coming out of such bad blood." He snorted and followed the fighter still a bit tense.
Flattery never rang sincere to him, but he WAS smart enough to know that a fighter was a good friend to have. His mouth watered as he saw Imnir yank down the sausages with ease. He wasn't going to over think this one, he darted forward and started to scarf down the links as quick as he could.

Now this was more like it. Imnir sat quietly beside the cull and casually glanced around every few seconds to make sure that there weren't any humans coming to chase them off. When the sausages were gone he decided it was time to speak up once again. Hopefully this would work.
"What's your name, kid? I like you, I like someone who knows what's good for them. It's rarer than you'd think around here." He snorted as the thoughts of the increasingly large amount of mokai who seemed to be unable to accept how great he was, and hated him for it. So far, even he was unable to change their minds and he was becoming aware of just how many enemies he was making. The last thing he wanted was for them to gang up on him. He could take it of course, but it would be such a waste of time.
"I'm sure you know that rarely does anyone get something for nothing. This time it's on me, but I have a small favor to ask."

He was astounded that the fighter had actually let him finish off the sausages, but the wonderful full sensation in his stomach made him much more amiable.
"Name's Tramp..." Well, that was what his owner called him anyway, he had never really gotten a proper name, but it certainly didn't bother him any. He snorted a bit at being called a kid, he was a cull and scrawny thanks to lack of proper meals, but he wasn't a pup anymore.
"Yeah? A favor from a cull? What exactly do you need?"

"Tramp, got it." Imnir nodded, making a mental note that he didn't know the names of many of the mokai he had met so far... Maybe that was something he ought to fix, but that would come later. In fact, Tramp here might be able to fix it for him.
"Well, as you may know, some folks aren't too fond of guys like me." He stated with a shrug, "I figure they see me as a threat, and for some reason that means they hate me. Now, I don't care about how they feel about me as such, but I do care if they start doing anything tricky. You know, funny business in the ring or setting up traps so I get a broken leg and can't fight, things like that." He growled under his breath, knowing that a few of them would probably love it if that happened to him.
"That's where you come in, if you're willing." He nodded again, "If you can get in good with the other local mokai, and find out if they have any grand schemes planned, you let me know, ok? They're too stupid to ever suspect that you'd be under my wing."

Tramp was a bit surprised and eyed the fighter curiously, he must not be very popular at all then...or he was extremely paranoid. Still he felt sort of bad for the mokai, that was no way to live. He knew, he had to look over his shoulder often enough.
"I'm not going to be underhanded, but alright...I'll make sure no one planning anything nasty against you. The other fighters aren't exactly going to cozy up to a cull you know? I'm bait, I'm what they use to warm up on, get their...blood pumping before a fight."
If anyone was in danger it wasn't the fighters, it was the culls thrown into illegal rings for beatings.

Imnir smiled as Tramp accepted his request. Perfect. Now all he needed was to figure out a good way to keep his end of the bargain, make sure that Tramp wouldn't just wander off, but he could figure that out later. Shouldn't be too hard to snag some food here and there and make sure that Tramp knows that he can ask him for help if needed.
"I know what you mean, Tramp." He nodded and let a small scowl cross his maw. He had never approved of using culls as bait or for practice. It wasn't because he felt sorry for them or anything, he just didn't see the point of harming an unworthy and helpless opponent. "Don't worry, I don't roll that way. If they ever put you in the ring as bait for me, I'll just chase ya around a bit, but I won't lay a paw or a tooth on you." He winked, "Save my energy for the real fight, you know?"
This was going well, but Imnir knew that he shouldn't stay too long talking to this cull. Even though they were in an agreement, he didn't really want to be seen with him unless he had to, to lower the chances of anyone suspecting that he and Tramp were... Friends? No, more like business partners.
"Well I suppose I'll be on my way then, unless there's anything else you need?" He offered, "If you ever need me for anything, just drop by my stall."
