Tramp was hiding behind a crate and keeping his head low, his owner was probably looking for him to toss him back in a ring. He was sore though his whole body ached and his front leg wobbled infront of him. He was tired of being bait today, he just wanted to go home lay down in the dirt and nap. His nose twitched and he peeked uncertainly out.
There was a fighter from the looks of her ahead, he couldn't sneak past her. He grumbled under his breath and then eyed her again, she looked kinda...rounded? Her stomach was sort of pudgy like his pet friend Kip, who enjoyed hearty meals daily. He'd never seen a fighter who wasn't in top shape, maybe he COULD sneak past this one...

Ai was wobbling around, with a menacing glare on her face. What had her owner, and Erebus’ owner been thinking? Look at her! She was getting fat! And, worst of all, she couldn’t fight. She really didn’t understand why, but it had all happened after that ‘incident’ with Erebus. JB was being friendlier towards her, pampering her more and everything. While Ai did enjoy that for the most part, she didn’t like the fact she was out of the ring.
She knew that JB was nearby, but he wasn’t keeping a right eye on her. It was like Ai could run fast anyways at the moment.
She sat down, her belly toppling over itself. “Great, this will take forever to get off. Stupid Erebus. Stupid Humans.” She snorted, golden eyes scanning the area. She peered at something batter gazing at her. He wasn’t a fighter, not by the stature. A cull again? He sure looked raggedy just like Dak.

Curses! He'd been spotted, he tried to duck back down, but it was too late. Well...this fighter looked more round then robust, he wasn't too terrified of her. He stepped out a bit and then tried to puff his chest out and look more...more...yeah no. He sighed and grimaced as he moved into a defensive pose. He couldn't fight fate, he would never look like a real fighter, he would always be a cull.
"Well? Come on then you look like you could use a warm up...or two." He probably shouldn't taunt a fighter, but wow this one was out of shape...unless round was the new shape? Then his tilted his head and eyed her again curiously.
"Hey...you...you're?" If he had any more experience he might have said she was gonna have pups or something.

Ai rolled her eyes at the cull. He was definitely different than the other cull she had met, and looked a little more battered as well. This probably was one of those creatures Cellen had mentioned. The ones thrown in as bait. Ai had personally never been around a cull in the arena, but she wouldn’t put it past JB to capture one, and use it as bait. She couldn’t hold back in the arena, but outside she had no will to fight one. Unless the cull was being stupid, in which this case he seemed to be.
“You sound as if you want a beating.” The pudgy little fighter rolled her eyes, lifting to her feet. “Though, hate to disappoint, but I am out for a while. Looks like it is your lucky day, cull.” She spoke quietly, still eyeing the other.
“I’m what. Fat. Pudgy. Extremely good looking?” The female rolled her eyes. As her enemy Imnir had put it, she’d been ‘knocked up’. Pregnant, in other words. She still didn’t want to believe it. She was rather young to be a mother, but humans never cared about that.

"No one ever WANTS a beating, but fighters never seem to care either way...: Though she certainly didn't seem to want to fight, which was odd. blinked at her words, out? Usually fighters were only taken out because of injuries...or expecting puppies, so it seemed that was the obvious answer.
"Er...not fat I guess...you do look a little pudgy, but it's only to be expected in your condition I suppose? I'm...I'm Tramp, sorry if I..." Hmm this was awkward, now he'd called her pudgy and apologized to a fighter. He'd never felt he owed anyone an apology for anything, life was rough and that was that. She just looked sort of upset already and he'd been upsetting her more. Tramp didn't think he was cruel by any stretch of the imagination, but it did seem a bit mean to pick of a pregnant female, eve if she was a fighter.
"I'm sorry if I offended you, I'm used to fighters charging first and...uh ignoring me later. I suppose I should congratulate you on your incoming family...hope none of them are culls."

“If you don’t want a beating, then my suggestion is to not interrogate fighters like you just did. Some of them may not be so rational when speaking with you.” It was a true statement. Culls were used for bait in the training sessions, so it was almost expected when not in one for them to act the same way outside the ring. Fortunately for Ai, she would rather be nice, then one of those ‘bully’ mokai. Things would be different, however, if JB were around.
She growled inwardly as Tramp had agreed with her being ‘pudgy’. ‘Stupid humans, stupid Erebus.’ was all she thought. Rolling her eyes, she had to push past the fact of her big belly, and try to be a decent mokai with introductions. “I’m Ai. Don’t worry about it.” She said rather haughtily, obviously not appreciating the fact of what the cull had assumed. She couldn’t blame him, but she still didn’t like it.
She made a noise of amusement, which rippled through her pregnant belly. “What? You don’t wish more to join the ranks like you?” She rather hoped none of her children were culls, but she couldn’t stop it if they were. If one happened to be so, then as long as Ai didn’t face it in the training pit, she’d be fine. She would hold no mercy on anyone when it came to her bond between JB and herself.

"I'm glad you're rational then and I'll keep that in mind." Yes, if he wanted to avoid further pains he had to learn to be a bit more understated. He frowned at her growl and realized how rude his previous assessment probably was.
"Don't worry I'm sure after your pups are born you'll be back in the ring in top shape." He tried to make amends, but he had already put his paw in his mouth it seemed.
"No...if no Mokai were born culls it would be nice, but I suppose it can't be helped. I'm sure my own mother probably wished I hadn't...." Been Born, but he kept that thought to himself.

“See, that’s the problem with you culls.” Ai stared at Tramp. “You all should be proud that you are even around. I mean, I know you guys are on the bottom of the totem pole, but at least you are alive, right?” Maybe Ai was just naïve. She rather enjoyed her life, and believed that everyone should cherish it. Even the little cull she had met before, Dak, seemed to enjoy his life---apart from being hungry.
She sighed. “I’m sure your mother loved you no matter what. If she didn’t, then she definitely did not deserve to be a mother.” Taking pity for the cull, she walked over to him, placing a paw a reassuring paw on his shoulder.
It didn’t last there long, for she didn’t want others around her to know that she harbored a small soft spot for the hungry, low-life mokai.
