She didn’t know what continued to draw her to the park where she had had the battle with Sailor Leto and Sailor Pomona…but Albireo was there again, sitting on the swing set, eyes moving from the sky to the bushes where she knew the hidden mirror was still concealed. She let out a little sigh and stretched, swinging some, closing her eyes as the air blew past her face, causing her hair loops to fly backwards a bit.

It was a nice night, calm, and uneventful. She wasn’t sure what it was about the mirror that continued to draw her attention…but…she knew…somehow…that the mirror was something significant. That one Sailor senshi would come out of it someday, she knew. And…Albireo would be there waiting. Either to apologize or fight again.

Huh. Apologizing for hurting someone who was trying to hurt someone else. What a stupid concept. If Pomona would have been able to see her thoughts, she might have been throwing peppers into Albireo’s face too. Huh.
She needed to stop thinking so much. It was bad for her health.

With a shake of her head and a little smile, Albireo continued to swing, jumping off with a laugh, climbing onto the Jungle gym and perching at the top of the slide. Enough angsting. Time to play.

Sailor Remarque was still having a hard time taking his new role seriously. He had aspired for many things in his life, the least of which, some sort of senshi. He wasn’t ungrateful with his new powers or the new life meaning he’d been given, just still uncertain. He was still getting in the hang of things after the Surrounding—things were slowly falling back into place. Some things had stayed the same—he still had his job, his mother, his home, and his stocks. It didn’t matter that he went to a different school (except, he hated wearing a uniform), that was still practically the same. School was school.

One thing had changed very much: him.

Jett hadn’t made the transformation into Remarque more than a handful of times and felt rather like he was neglecting the role. He knew he should have been out collecting energy, so decided to shake up his schedule and head back to the park where he’d learned.

Mirror travel was strange for him, but was starting to feel like second nature. He’d transformed into Remarque in his room and then settled to go patrol.

The mirror in the bushes rippled for only a split second before he walked through it. With the abundance of homeless that took nightly refuge in the park, he suspected he could be at least semi productive.

Sailor Remarque brushed himself off as he pushed out of the bushes, though froze; there was a tingling at the base of his neck that made him almost consider going back in the mirror and turning in for the night, but pride and curiosity—always a downfall—made him ignore the thought. He was alert, though didn’t entirely know where he should be looking to identify the power source. It was easy to tell that it was there, but didn’t exactly tell him what to expect.

Realistically, it would have been nice to find some nice, easy victim, drain them, and head home—but, then, where was the fun in that?

If she hadn’t been expecting some sort of…something tonight, then the addition of another aura…a darker aura may have thrown Albireo for a loop. Regardless of having been prepared for something like this, she still fell down the slide, landing on her stomach, skirt sprawled up around her.

Ah…There had been the sound of bushes rustling…she knew she heard it. The mirror. Was it Leto? No…It didn’t feel like it was someone stronger than her…it felt like the aura of…of someone weaker then her…a normal senshi…? Though…tainted. Would they call themselves ‘Enlightened’, as Leto did?

She righted herself and jumped to her feet, looking around. “I can feel you. Come out. Show yourself…it’ll be easier that way…whoever you are.”

Great. A direct approach. Maybe she…should have destroyed the mirror? Hm. She would have to do that later. That might calm her nerves and make this less of an interesting place to patrol. She didn’t want to get into a fight. Though…when did she ever.

The voice calling him out meant he couldn’t run or hide—not that he’d had any intention to. He’d been found out, as it were, and—sure, he could always play opossum: stand still, breathe slowly, don’t move. Let her think it was in her mind.

But therein was the problem. Her.

Remarque now had two curiosities to sate: one, who was it with the aura, and what girl was foolish enough to be wandering around in the park this late at night.

Pushing past the brambles in the bush, he walked into relatively plain sight, not bothering to be subtle about it. Even after pulling himself from a bush, he approached with a state of confidence; he carried himself highly and wasn’t phased in the slightest by the senshi in front of him.

Oh, wait. That was Albireo.

He looked at her for only a moment before he let out a slight scoff and rested his hand on his hip. She wouldn’t recognize him, but that hadn’t stopped him from remembering her from the Surrounding. “Easier for what?” he prompted, rather interested in her words.

In much the way a predator might, he kept his gaze locked on the girl. She looked different than when he’d seen her all those weeks ago—her outfit was different. Her hair was the same, maybe a little longer than he remembered but he couldn’t be sure.

The way she was now, he just didn’t see her as much of a threat. How she beat up Leto—aside from the unfair advantage in numbers—he just couldn’t see.

Albireo swallowed, looking at the...the senshi? What the hell…She looked his outfit over then shook her head slightly. It looked…really flamboyant…maybe the senshi had a reason for such a strange outfit…senshi of…bright colors? She shook her head and blinked. “Who are you? You’re a senshi…aren’t you? Did you come from the mirror?”

Huh. Question time. Was she really that hopeful that her questions would be answered from this…chaotic stranger? He felt dark…he was one of the ‘enlightened’ ones…

Oh! Maybe…they were the senshi…that worked with the negaverse? Is this…what Albireo would become? She would have to ask someone…Well…No! No she wasn’t going to join the negaverse…she was a senshi, a fighter for good…

She shook her head slightly then just looked at Remarque. “Why is your outfit so…shiny?”

It was a pretty outfit, she quite liked his sheer…cape like thing. Also…here she was, flinging questions left and right, and not giving any information about herself…how rude. “I’m Super Sailor Albireo…Senshi of Swans…”

There. Now she wasn’t being rude.

Jett’s instinct told him to say, ‘I know,’ so he had to bite down on his tongue to keep himself from any awkward situations. “Albireo,” he repeated slowly.

Yeah. He still couldn’t see how this girl kicked the s**t out of Leto; she seemed as ditzy and dull as always. He knew she was the enemy, just as she should know he was, and she wanted to exchange names? All right, he’d bite.

“I’m Sailor Remarque,” he said slowly, feeling strange introducing himself as such. “Dark Mirror Senshi of Puppetry. Do you want me to go in a list of all your questions? Yes, I came from the mirror. And the shiny? That’s a stupid question, that would be like me asking ‘why are your clothes so frilly’?”

He stopped walking and, while still alert, just rested his hands on his hips. He didn’t entirely know what to expect from her. She seemed absolutely harmless. “What are you doing out so late? You look like you belong in a display window. A pretty little doll,” he mused, voice silky and full of charm. The hint of a smile twitched onto his face. “…It’s dangerous out here, especially at this hour. Hasn’t anyone told you that?”

Dark Mirror Senshi…what the hell was a Dark Mirror Senshi? She narrowed her eyes. Huh. So…These dark…mirror senshi could come through mirrors…I guess that’s where the term ‘mirror’ came into play. Well, that’s interesting. “I know it’s a stupid question, I’ve just never seen a…senshi with a cape thing like that is all. It’s interesting. Colorful. And my clothes are frilly because I’m a super senshi…and that’s just what my fuku wanted to look like, I guess. It’s better than my last one. Everyone assumed I knew how to dance ballet. I don’t.”

A display window? A pretty little doll? What the hell? Her face heated up slightly at the complements and pretty words. What a charmer. Bet this guy got all the ladies. “Sorry, …Remarque, was it? I already have a boyfriend, and yes, I do know of the danger…I’m on the list of people put here to stop it.”

Was that too corny? Too…stupid? Who cares. She wanted to figure this guy out…see if he was in any way related to Leto…Well, he must have been. They came from the same mirror. “So…do you guys live inside mirrors?”
PostPosted: Wed Nov 02, 2011 8:31 am

While not particularly interested in why her outfit looked like that, and he wondered if she realized he hadn’t been asking. She looked like she should know ballet, sure—he could see where people could have been convinced she was some sort of ballerina.

Remarque was amused by her speech after the talk of clothes. “Again, you ask so many questions—back to back. Do you want me to pick and choose which ones I answer, or would you like to give me time to reply before you ask more? Let me see if I can keep up. First, you have a boyfriend,” he repeated, wondering why the hell the girl had decided to inform him of such. “Who must be a lucky guy, I assume. You certainly don’t meet the qualifications of ‘girl next door’. Especially if you’re on a list—really, is that, a list?—of people who stop danger.”

Perhaps the most interesting question of hers, he didn’t address. Did they live inside mirrors? Absolutely not. Did he want to tell her all the deep, dark secrets about the complexities and fine details of being a Dark Mirror Senshi?

…He wasn’t really qualified for that. And even if he was, he wasn’t going to spill the beans to her.

Albireo frowned then just gave what seemed to be a pout. “He is a lucky guy. Trust me. And, yeah. I’m on a list of the good guys. I’m a Sailor Senshi…you’re a senshi too, right? Your duty is to protect people too. Why do you reek of chaos so much…”

She already knew the answer, she knew that she knew the answer, but at the same time, she really didn’t want to know the damn answer. “…Or are you against all of the normal senshi…You’re with the negaverse…protecting the earth…like that one guy was talking about…”

Keep it vague…maybe he’d tell her what she wanted to know…But she wasn’t sure what she wanted to know, so she hoped he’d just enlighten…er…tell her. Not enlighten. Never enlighten…

She would much rather stay in the dark. Unenlightened. It seemed safer that way

Remarque raised a brow. “For having so many questions, you seem to already have a lot of answers.”

‘With the Negaverse’ was not something was really going to agree with; he knew very little of them and had next to no interaction with anyone sans the Dark Mirror Court. He was with them, and if Ares said they were with the Negaverse, than—sure. He was. Even if he didn’t exactly know everything there was to know about the situation.

“I confess to being against normal senshi. See, nothing against you,” Remarque replied in a mockingly saccharine voice, “I just don’t like them. And I suppose that means, I just don’t like you. You’re interesting, at least. And you don’t seem hostile. Why is that? If you know that I ‘reek of chaos’…why is it that you’re still talking to me? Unless. You like Chaos,” he added, voice nearly a purr.

Albireo could have sworn her heart stopped with Remarque’s final statement. Did she like chaos? What…what kind of a stupid question was that? Of course she didn’t like chaos…chaos was…chaos was chaotic. It was wrong. It was completely against everything that she fought for. Everything that she…gave her chance of a normal life for…

Her response was clipped, almost angry. He was right though. It was time to stop talking and time to start…fighting. They were enemies. They were on opposite sides of the war. This was a war. “Of course I don’t like chaos you a*****e. I’m not sure why you are the way you are, but I know that whatever happened to you was very, very wrong and you shouldn’t have become what you are if you were supposed to be a normal senshi.”

She was angry. How dare he just accuse her of something like that. There was no way that she would like chaos…Never. Ever. Ever. “Albireo Honking Distraction!” She wasn’t sure when her mind snapped into attack mode, but she was going to shut this guy up. Either that, or just shut him up for a moment and run like hell, She did like running…it kept her mind occupied. The many sounds of honking swans circled around the two senshi’s, bringing comfort to Albireo, and hopefully a headache to Remarque.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 05, 2011 3:47 am

The attack, in Remarque’s mind, was totally unprovoked. And he was totally unprepared.

The sudden noise left a ringing in his ears and it felt like someone had held a bell over his head and whacked it with a hammer. The world felt like it was spinning a bit, though he suspected it was his mind playing tricks on him; the swans swirling around them were disorienting him, and try as he might to keep his eyes on Albireo, he quickly found himself cringing and backing up, trying to escape the cacophony. The birds still swarmed around them and he didn’t see an opening in sight.

Remarque couldn’t hear his own thoughts, and was already feeling the spike of a headache throbbing in quickly growing waves.

That b***h.

And he had been totally content to just ******** talk to her. He didn’t like having the rug pulled from under him—he didn’t like her having the upper hand, and he sure as hell didn’t like all this noise.

Cracking an eye, he glared at her. He’d have said something if he could—if he’d have thought she could have heard him over such god-awful racket. He couldn’t focus enough to try and hit her—never mind even trying to use any of his power on her.

Albireo just watched the male for a few seconds, knowing her attack didn’t last very long. “I do not like chaos, I do not want to be a part of chaos—I was just curious about the mirrors, that’s all.” She said this after the honking died away mostly, eyes narrowed “I think I’ll take my leave now. Don’t get any stupid ideas about me wanting to be a part of chaos…because I don’t. I really, really don’t.”

She shook her head then gave a little wave. “Whatever…Hope I don’t see you around, it’ll just be worse and stuff. Blah Blah Blah.” She wasn’t in the mood for this, she was too focused on trying to figure out why he asked if she liked chaos. Of course she didn’t like it! What a stupid…loser. The senshi took a few steps away from Remarque, back turned to him, sighing slightly.

Though the honking had abated, Remarque had a headache he doubted was going to go away any time soon. The throbbing in his head was making him agitated, and the ringing in his ears was just plain pissing him off. It was a wonder he'd even heard what Albireo had said to him; her voice sounded too soft to him, but he had processed what she'd said almost before she turned away to leave.

"You can deny it all you want but it's there, isn't it?" he asked; if he weren't still clutching his head, trying to stop the rolling waves of pain, he might have given in to the instinct to just beat her face into the ground. Though his voice was a little louder than need-be--and effect of the deafening swans--he hardly seemed hostile. It might have been a taunt, but he didn't sound entirely malicious. "...And it's calling to you."

The tone he used was one he might have shared with a close friend in a moment of crisis; something was wrong with Albireo, and he could see it.

And he'd be damned if he wasn't going to try and take advantage of it.

She paused, trembling at his words, stopping dead in her tracks. Calling to her. Chaos? Calling to her? No way. There was no way. She didn’t want chaos, she just wanted…to protect what it was that she cared for. Chaos wasn’t a part of that want. She didn’t crave the darkness…she wanted…the darkness gone. She wanted it gone for good. There was no way she was being called by chaos.

…Right? No way.

Albireo turned then just shook her head. “You’re wrong, Remarque. Chaos isn’t calling me, and even if it was, there would be no way in hell I’d listen to what it wanted to say. Thank you and goodnight.”

She was ready to get out of there. Already that damn nagging voice of doubt had crept into her mind, singing its sweet songs to her. Maybe she was being called to chaos…maybe that’s where she wanted to end up. Hell, she was considering joining with the Negaverse, wasn’t she? s**t. Why was it so easy to get into her head. The senshi shook her head roughly then turned away from him, shoulders slumped just a little.
