Question: What made you start drawing in the first place, and what made you continue improving?

For me, I was first drawn into the art world by my grandmother, who was a painter. She painted the most beautiful oil sceneries that I have ever seen in real life, not over the tv. Even after she died when I was in elementary school, she continues to inspire me. One example of this is today. My grandpa sent me some of her seemingly empty sketch pads from his basement, and to my surprise I found some of her sketches in there. Not exactly museum worthy, but full of memories for me. They really reminded me of the power a single drawing can have.

The thing that made me decide to continue drawing and to choose it as a career, was a combination of my own boredom, my ego, and the fun of creating the characters that I always come up with in my head. I always have to be doing something, so if I don't have a book or knitting around me I have to doodle. Eventually those doodles started getting sortof praise worthy (at least in my school.) So, after I heard people liked my drawings, just decided to learn more to get better. After a while I would see someone else's work online and realize that my drawings were really complete crap, so my competitivenes came out, and forced me to practice even more. xd Now, its just really fun to take an idea and make it into reality. I find myself constantly looking back at my latest works, amazed that I have come this far.
It has been a really funny journey, lol. rofl
