HALLOWE'EN 2k11!---------  ---------- Hello there my lovely clammy lumpy-wumpy-pumpkins!! ('Has Lorika lost her mind?' I hear you say! QUITE POSSIBLY!)
Now, Hallowe'en is a very special time of year for us and for Gaia! The most amazing, extravagant and dangerously overblown things always seem to happen around the end of October here. And the most extravagant and dangerously overblown of them all is what brought us all together exactly two years ago!
We're not doing anything special this year, other than enjoying the main Gaia event! However, I thought I'd open up this discussion thread where we can all come together and uh - discuss! I have a couple of questions to pose to you!1. Reminisce about what you were doing this time two years ago! Do you remember meeting any of the guildies for the first time? What about guildies who were active then, but no longer active now? Is there anyone you really miss? What were your first impressions of us all?
2. Now come back to the present! What are you doing for Hallowe'en this year? Do you have any spooky ghosty stories to share with us that you've gathered from all your time spent terrorising small children? >D Any favourite Hallowe'en traditions you do every year?
4. Costumes! What are you wearing? What are your avatars wearing? What's been your favourite costume that you or your avatar has ever worn? Which NPC in the Shops is wearing your favourite costume?...And ANYTHING ELSE you can possibly think of! blaugh

I don't think any of you will recall this, because I changed my avi once the Resistance thread got going, but initially for Hallowe'en 2k9 my costume was this:  A cosplay of Daniella from Haunting Ground! I'd actually run a competition to see if people could guess what I was gonna dress up as a couple of weeks in advance based on a cryptic clue, and awarded money to the winners. You guys probably remember these two costumes, though. My high priestess and high priestess battle robes!   Ahhh, the BOO skin~ Weird seeing it again on my avi, it's been gone so long ;o; I had a third, white-themed avi with a Nautilus hat some anon gifted me, but I cant seem to find a picture of it... ho hum Then last year I dressed up as Cressa dressed up as Halle Berry's Catwoman, which is some major Inception s**t right there, and this year I've done a similar thing by dressing up as Cressa dressed up for the masquerade ball!! Isnt she pretty?~ I almost went with a big monochrome ballgown design but honestly, Cressa's idea of dressing up for a party is really dressing down for a party, so this suits her much better XDD

I like how I made my avi so that I can wear my BOO outfit without the skin. I miss the old skin though.

I have such good memories of the BOO vs SIN event. I actually looked up the old thread a few months back to remind and refresh myself.

It brought back good memories that's what it did haha. Also took my forever to pin point where I jumped in at.
And from there the friends I made and the fun we had.
I really really need to come back here more.

@Dart: Hah! I did the same thing a few days ago, only I looked up the stuff on the Gaia wiki.
I also have fond memories of the event; the only thing I regret is that I never met any of you during it! 8<
I met everybody AFTER the event was over. I can't remember exactly how, but I think somebody mentioned the guild to me, and the rest is history~ 3nodding
Also I think I wore these B.O.O. robes for about 3 months after the event because I couldn't bear taking them off (they're still my favorite Gaia item ever, even over the Cash shop items and rare stuff that's available! XD) And so every year around Halloween I've decided that it'll be a tradition to don the robes once again and use some new items from that year. (Hence my current avi, and the one from last year around this time.)

I'm not much for this years, mainly because I can't get a hang of it.
Other then Trick or Treating of course.

lol, I'd like the boo robes more if they weren't so damn constricting. And yeah, This year's and last year's haven't been all too great.. and I just haven't bothered with this one :/

I didn't mean to sound like I didn't like last years. It was actually fun for me. Just this year is a bit off putting. I guess it is about time they added werewolves but after the fight between demi-gods and then epic evil spirits it's a bit of a step backward isn't it?
Also the way they have it set up as well.

There's something in the forums about "safe haven, do not attack" but other then making a posse with others I don't know.
Then there's the pop up which you fight, but no idea how that works.

Hmm let's see, what do I remember (briefly, not comprehensively) from two years ago...
I remember how the Resistance thread started out as a thread about the strange discrepancies between points and when the trident/portal fired. Nobody seemed to know what was going on, so I went back and forth between my mule on the SIN side and Lorika and kept updating the OP on what the other side was up to... and it grew... and grew... and grew... until the thread was getting hundreds of posts a day!!! It was crazy. I felt and still feel so proud to have been the head of the movement =]
I remember how we discussed so many theories about the event... most of which were really silly looking back LMAO! Like how BOO was losing because we're way too pretty and fashionable to be fighting in all the mud and muck XDD So awesome.
Who do I remember? I remember Queenie and Catalyste. And Nico... Captain Hawk... Erik.... Storm... and strangely enough I remember meeting Bapp very clearly. The neon green top hat made a real effect on from from day one! I also remember a couple of other people for what they contributed, but not their names.
I remember juggling updating the thread and churning up as much energy as possible to power the trident!
I remember how everything was just one big, gigantic, insane, chaotic ball of fun and hilarity and meeting some of the best people I've known online, and if I had to do it all over again it might just kill me but I wouldnt hesitate for one second to dive right back in ;w; None of the other events compare at all to the spirit of the occassion. We threw ourselves into the cause of good and that made it so very very special and important.
