There were birds singing outside, weren't there? Orpheus shifted in bed, and slipped out of the sheets quietly. He hadn't had the blankets on him. He sat at the edge of the bed and yawned, stretching; it was too early to be awake. What time was it, anyway? Ever since meeting Phil, he just... hadn't wanted to leave his side. And so, as much as he could avoid it, he simply hadn't. He had an incredibly flexible schedule, so apart from opening the bakery some mornings, there was nothing he had to do. And even if he opened it for three hours, he would usually return to Phil before it was even nine in the morning. Orpheus was a little tired, because he was switching his sleeping pattern in order to match Phil a little better, still-- he was happy.

He assessed himself, and found that he was incredibly happy. He hadn't been home in days, however, and he wondered when Phil would get suspicious. It wasn't as if he needed to go back to that place, and he had been wary of showing Phil, but he supposed he couldn't just stay at Phil's place forever. Eventually, he would have to go back. Even though almost everything he needed was right there in that room with him. He eyed his jacket, which he had dumped on a piece of furniture. Within that sleeve, there was a hammerspace pocket with everything he loved. And things that he would need shortly, like a face cloth and something to clean his teeth.

Even in his half-asleep daze, his eyes glowed gently, hazy. He rubbed at his cheek, the tattoo shifting with his skin, before trying to find his scarf or shirt, or at least something more than his boxers. "I could use some breakfast," he admitted, mumbling.

Phil was all over the place much like he was during most mornings at that hour. The early morning chores had been dealt with promptly, the house's floors had been neatly swept and a light tonic potion was already being brewed next to the customary coffee. Despite the sun being just only rising Phil was already hurrying his way through his home with precise, fast movements that secured that he would stay on the clock and made each second to count. It was a blessing, literally, that living with Orpheus hadn't managed to alter his meticulously structured schedule; on the contrary he almost helped with it so to speak. If nothing, it made Phil very happy. Orpheus made him happy; more than he had ever been in his entire life, perhaps. They had met suddenly and unexpectedly and their feeling had developed with an almost supersonic speed engulfing both of them much like intense wildfire. It had felt that way, but also like a gentle blossom blooming... it was so many things, too many things. Sometimes Phil would wonder how much of their relationship could really understand, how much could they comprehend with their simple minds?

He had already dashed ahead and upstairs to measure some ingredients for yet another potion when he heard Orpheus waking. It was about time, he thought. If he timed everything correctly he could nearly predict his sleeping patterns that were slowly -but steadily- becoming more accustomed and similar to his own. It was becoming an everyday habit of his since Orpheus hadn't let him in a while and he wondered why he was delaying his return to his home so much; not that Phil did mind terribly much, it was just he was curious. Smiling warmly he pushed the small scales aside and took a few, brief, moments to separate the measured amounts and set them aside to use them later before he made haste to go down to greet Orpheus for the day. Hearing his light mumble as he walked in he found himself laughing softly. "There's some in the making downstairs if you would care for any" he offered, leaning against the door's wooden frame. "But I fear I'll be requiring a small fee for you to get past me." he mentioned, his smile turning into a slightly mischievous one as he did.

Orpheus found his scarf balled up under his pillow, but he could not seem to locate his shirt. Sleepy, and stretching, he moved so that his feet touched the floor, and pushed himself up. He yawned again, and stretched his back out, draping the scarf over his shoulders. At least it made him feel slightly less exposed? Not that he really cared. It was strange to wake up to such beautiful light, because he did not typically stay over at anyone's place until morning: he would usually leave at night, escape to the bakery, and help them open. That was his usual routine.

Still, if given the choice, he'd probably never leave Phil's side. That was kind of a dangerous thing, wasn't it? To be so interested in someone's company that other habits and hobbies were neglected. Naturally he wouldn't let it get that severe, but for these days when he could set things aside, he did it gladly so that he could stay by Phil a little longer.

It was probably time to go back to his room, though. In the dank building, with the various rodent, moisture, mould, etc... wards that Orpheus had recruited someone to painstakingly set up. He was never that good with wards in the first place. Phil appeared in the doorway, before Orpheus could even really get going, and a smile spread across Orpheus' face. His voice dropped low, and he replied, "A fee?" he asked, and he slipped his arms around Phil, hoisting him up suddenly, hoping Phil would get the cue and hold onto him with his legs. He kissed Phil contentedly and started to carry him back to the bed. "Now I've got you, looks like your small fee is going to cost you, instead?..." he suggested, laughing.

He paused at the edge of the bed and smiled, kissing Phil again. "Maybe later, I think," he clarified, "wouldn't want to ruin breakfast. Want me to carry you there?" he asked.

After all, he didn't have to use the stairs. Portals were handy things.
