its been two years since hells gate has appeared (look it up in the anime) link was up ontop of a buildin the moon shone behind him along with three dead corpse ''he wasnt here.'' he muttered and a ziiiiip cam from his sleve and a clack his long black cloak fell behind him
Frozen in place, Devon glared down at the smashing waves as if they were taunting her. Loud, angry voices shouting her name as they closed in on her from every direction. The crispy cool night air felt like daggers on her skin, and only causing her fear to climb infinitesimaly higher, and more constricting as she imagined how cold the water must be compared to the wind.
Slowly, she tried to calm her shaking hands as she lowered herself onto the concrete edge. Letting her legs dangle over the side as she tried to tell herself that clouds were waiting for her at the bottom of the twenty foot drop. The voices only getting louder and louder as she sat there waiting till the very last moment. She wanted them to watch her fall, and she wanted them to assume she had died in the frigid looking water.
"There she is!" They'd found her much quicker thanshe had hoped, but she couldn't let that bother her. Without another thought, Devon braced her feet against the edge and pushed off with all her might. The drop was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. It only lasted what felt like mere seconds as she flew towards freedom, and she could actually imagine herself doing it again if she ever had the chance.
The moment her body touched the water though, all thoughts were erased as she immediately went into shock, and before she could think to stop herself... The water was already heating, her eyes glowing red and then fading back to blue as she held her breath. She could just barely hear the startled voices as they remarked on the splashing sound and searched for my body.
Thankfully it wasn't long before they gave up, because she knew it wouldn't be long before her mind automatically forced out the strange magic hidden within herself. Turning the water around her to air or transporting her to the dock.
There'll be no need for that, She thought to herself, rolling her eyes at how insane she felt talking to herselfself as she swam towards the dock. It took a while, but she was trying not to disturb the water and raise the alarm so she just told herself that the deep, dark, murky, and utterly terrifying pier was just a small indoor pool.
Devon pulled herself from the water, her body completely exhausted after heating the water and she pulled out a small knife from a pocket in her leather jacket. She'd never had to do what most contractors did. Though whenever she stepped into a seemingly elemental form of her power she was forced to pay the price.

𝓟𝓪𝓼𝓽→ Devon was experimented on as a young child, her mother died during birth, and her father committed suicide soon after. She was taken to an orphanage directly after and stayed their until she was three. She was then taken after melting a silver spoon during supper, and didn't see the light of day until her seventeenth birthday. She had escaped in the dead of night, and has been running ever since.
𝓟𝓮𝓻𝓼𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵𝓲𝓽𝔂→ Devon is extremely sensitive and instinctual; An introvert. This doesn't mean she is shy, but an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people. Being introspective, though, does not mean that an introvert never has conversations. However, those conversations are generally about ideas and concepts, not about what they consider the trivial matters of social small talk. This is mainly because of her past, but it often bothers her because she doesn't want to be alone anymore.
𝓐𝓫𝓲𝓵𝓲𝓽𝓲𝓮𝓼→ Devon has the power to manipulate molecules, and can do so on a subatomic level. This she can do on her free will. Though, when she is placed into dire situation in which her life is put at risk her powers will work at their own accord as if possessing her. At this time she is able to work on a more elemental level in which she can heat water like she did after diving into freezing water, and she can even teleport to another location by manipulating time and space. The type of element is always random, and when she does this her body often becomes very weak and over exhausted. This is all because she refuses to learn to use her abilities further.
The hairs on the back of Devon's neck spiked up, and she knew someone had seen her. Stay cool. If they were one of the people looking for her they wouldn't have approached her so carelessly. She took a quick look around herself, and sighed quietly before standing to face whoever had noticed her there. Her clothes still wet enough to drag her down a bit in her weakened state.
"I-I can't remember..." She whispered, her body shaking hard and her teeth rattling from the icy cold air.
"W-who are y-you?" She was hamming it up a bit, but she really was cold. She looked from left to right, and then looked back at the strange man who had approached her. Being in the open like this was making her extremely nervous. "D-do y-you know wh-wh-where we are?"

"No idea i have only been in this city a few days or so here take this." Link said and removed his cloak "It'll keep you warm." And he handed it over revealing a sword, two daggers and l larger knife on his back with a black wire on it "and my names link and more importantly how do you not know who you are?" he asked
Devon's eyes widened as the man handed her his cloak, though she was confused by his kindness she didn't let that stop her from getting as warm as possible. She pushed her arms through quickly and wrapped the front ends as tightly around her as she could, blowing on her hands to try and warm them a bit.
"Thank you, Link." her voice was a little more steady now. Warmth already filling her up. "I suppose I know who I am..." She whispered, gazing up at Link. She couldn't figure out how to explain.
"I suppose it depends on who's asking me..." She said finally, giving him a weak smile. She turned to look up at the stars in the sky, silent for another moment. "I think you should call me... Devon."

Link smiled "Any time so you got a place to stay or something you'll catch a cold out here." He said checkin his back every so often. "And Devon nice name." He added smiling
(Do you know what happens to contractors that don't do what they're contract tells them to? Or how long they have before they've run out of time to do so?)

"Ermm..." Devon wasn't sure what to say. Her body feeling as if she were going to collapse at any moment. "No, I don't actually..." She sighed, knowing it was true. Her eyes watering a little she she tried to imagine where she could go.
"Thanks. I like your name too." She tried to smile, but it was almost physically painful so it came out a little silly looking.

(if i am correct ppl come after them and if thats wrong well.. im screwed its been a while since i last seen it i'll be goin through it again.)
Link smiled and laughed a bit "Follow me then." He said and thought "You seem tired i can carry your or you can ride on my back." He added
"You don't have to," Devon said, her face turning a little pink. "I'll probably only slow you down if I walk though." She glanced quickly to the left, and sighed. She had defeated her own argument in the same sentence.
"Sorry if I'm a little heavy," She mumbled before climbing onto his back and wrapping her arms around his shoulders, trying not to choke him. She hated heights, even when they were hardly high at all. Her face nestling into his neck, her eyes squeezing shut.

"Haha... Its fine." Link said and he began to walk "Your not even that heavy." link added and he walked to his appartment
As he reached there he reached and unlocked the door and stepped in "Well home sweet home." He muttered and turned on some lights "You can have my room its more cozy in there compared to my couch." Link said and he set Devon down "You need anything?" He asked
Devon climbed off of Link's back and stepped cautiously into the apartment. Her eyes seeming to glow with excitement as she imagined the idea of eventually having her own place to call home. "It's beautiful," She whispered turning to look back at Link, a huge smile on her face.
She stepped further into the room, spinning slowly as she examined the room. "I don't want to steal you're bed, but I would like you use your shower... If that's all right." She examined herself, and chuckled at her appearance. Her clothes were still wet, though she wasn't soaked anymore. "My clothes should be dry by morning..." Devon whispered.
