Miss Alexis Bailey had a brainstorm the Thursday before Halloween, and because of this she had a special class on Friday. The classes, all gathered in the cafeteria/theater with small sized pumpkins. Not those silly mini pumpkins but ones just large enough for the children to hold and decorate or carve with the child safe sets she'd found.
She was lucky the school allowed her to do this. She was standing on the stage in the back of the room while the children were all settled on sets at the tables. "Welcome classes, as you all are aware today and Monday are going to be odd days for us. Getting into the festivities of Fall and for those of you who celebrate holidays this month; Halloween, Day of the Dead and other such notable days. We will be decorating pumpkins!"
She paused and smiled, "Now I know some of you are thinking but what if I'm not allowed to celebrate this holiday? That's completely fine, you can decorate your pumpkin for Fall! After all Thanksgiving is around the corner and the leaves are just now painted colors. There should be a ton of ideas for you all to explore! So lets get in there and decorate those pumpkins!"
She smiled, "Then on Monday we'll display them for everyone to see!"The ooc This ORP is for students of knightside elementary. If you have a student you're free to rp them making a pumpkin! This is a combined class (with all the students in the school wink ) and Alexis can only keep up with so many of you, as long as you don't leave the cafeteria/theater your child is free to mingle with students from other classes. After all not everyone is in the same class. After your kiddo finishes their pumpkin if you want to post a picture of it, (please keep it to something a child would do),you may! In fact I'd love to see an illustration of what you kid comes up with. If you have to ms paint it, google it, or otherwise do a picture that's fine with me. They have everything from simple carving tools (they're made of plastic...), to the mr. potato head pumpkin accessories and even paints and glitter available to them.

When Minny found out that today was going to be Pumpkin Carving Day she practically jumped out of her chair. She loved Halloween, and everything associated with it, including the candy! She was sitting at a table with a pumpkin the size of her head before her, green eyes shining with excitement.
Her excitement did not keep her from listening intently to what Miss Alexis Bailey was saying however. Her mamma had taught her that it was very important to listen to teachers. So she kept her hands off her carving utensils...for now. Instead, she began to fidget with the yellow headband that sat on her head, keeping her chin length brown hair from getting into pumpkin guts and paint.

There were pumpkins. Lots and lots of pumpkins! Millicent let out a cheer when she listened to the explanation of what they were expected to do with the pumpkins. They had to carve and decorate them! Yes!
The child took a seat next to a girl with brown hair and she looked over. "Hi! I'm Millie, who are you?" As Millie spoke, she reached into her bag and pulled out a hair tie, swiftly braiding her long wine colored hair and flipping it behind her shoulders.
"What kind of a pumpkin are you going to make? Is it going to be amazing? I think mine is going to be amazing, I brought stickers too!"
Her hands had curled around two of the plastic carving utensils and she seemed ready to take this task on.
