Lattice read her Sister's letter over and over again every chance she got it was hard to get her to put the letter down and to go about her day. To hear her Sister's voice again was all she wanted but at the moment that was impossible unless letters suddenly carried the voice of your loved ones along with their written words on parchment. She tucked the letter away in small box where she kept keepsakes from Needle and then going through her daily rituals.

Meditation was observed, her small shrine was prayed to, and then she drank her tea. Already the ghoul was composing the letter to her sister within her mind trying to answer questions for her sister that were put to her because - to be quite honest - Lattice didn't really do a good job writing her letter to her Sister. Honestly, she should have known better but then again the parchment had been cut too small and Lattice hated to waste paper.

Sometimes fate sets things up to where you just can't win unless you have pre-emptive hindsight not that such a thing exists.

Lattice moved to cut the paper doing better this time making sure the sides were neat and even and then she went about setting up her inks and pens for the act of writing it was almost like a ritual in itself the way she set things up - for her everything had a place and a meaning and if something came in and upset that her world often descended into chaos and so Lattice did what she could to protect her small corner of the world.

Since arriving at the academy it was harder and harder for Lattice to become stoic and to pull back her emotions - everyone around her was so expressive and it made her want to do the same though she knew she shouldn't but she couldn't help herself it just felt so wonderful to show how she felt and not have to hide it because the Elder was watching her with scrutiny and waiting for her to slip up.

The Engraver let out a deep sigh as she took up the pen with the ink spilling out as it had done before she was certain her emotions were affecting the ink making it excitable and desiring to just leap onto the page whether or not she was ready to put the ink to use. She stared at the blotches on her blank page and uttered a soft sigh of resignation before she set to writing out her letter for her sister.

Carefully she went about answering questions and then making note of anything new that had happened since the last letter - there wasn't anything too new that happened to her but there were things that happened that needed to be mentioned. The Engraver would pause and stare at what she wrote before she added yet more to her letter, she filled the page as best as she could and signed it. If there had been more she supposed she could always get a second page and write more but for now it seemed adequate enough - besides if she didn't create more questions then how would she find things to write about to her sister?

Lattice was a devious ghoul. She did these things for a reason.

As she stared at her letter for a moment or two longer she couldn't really think of much more to add so as she took up the parchment and folded it she murmured a soft, "I love you, Sister. I miss you," As if her voice would be carried along with the letter to her Twin's ears.

After she folded the letter she got it into the envelope and addressed the front properly before she got up and made her way out. Lattice walked with a bit of a quickened gait anxious to get the letter to her Sister as soon as she possibly could so that she could get a response back. Getting letters from Needle had become something of a highlight for the Engraver. It was like the odd present or two they made and exchanged to each other while they were growing up back at the manor, it made Lattice happy even at her saddest moments.

When she got to the mailbox she slipped the letter in for when the mail would be picked up and then delivered and again she paused and stared down at the box. It always felt like eons would pass between the letters and it became difficult to try to find ways to pass her time now that the letter was written and sent off. Lattice patted the box quietly before she turned and wandered away and instead of going straight back to her dorm she decided to go for a small walk to learn more about her surroundings - perhaps maybe she could find a nice place for her and her sister to enjoy some tea together when Needle arrived at the school because Lattice was certain that her Twin would be accepted soon, she refused to think otherwise.
