Rolling to see who will go first

1 Sailor Nemesis
2 Sailor Ixion

Feel free to rp as usual randomizing betweeen 1 and 3 for each post, or to pre roll the results and go back and fill the posts in after the fact.

Rolling reference for ease
* For every post in a battle thread make sure you randomize between 1 and 3. The number you get will determine what happened during that turn.
1 - Uh oh, looks like you missed this time!
2 - Yay a hit! Your opponent should subtract 1 hp in their next post.
3 - Excellent hit! Your opponent should subtract 2 hp in their next post.

* Keep track of your HP on the top of each post you make please! When someone reaches zero the battle is over. (You can post once or twice more if you'd really like the two to wish each other well or what not)
If the dice decide to be jerks and the battle just keeps going on and on and on I may step in and ask for you guys to roll dice for some outside event to help out. Hopefully it won't be necessary

HP: 7

A kid. Nemesis wondered what cruel fate Ixion had to suffer through to be sparring against her. If she was a chibi senshi, she certainly wouldn't think it a fun idea to go against a more experienced Sailor Soldier such as Nemesis. At least they weren't actually going to hurt each other, or, she should rephrase that actually. She wasn't going to hurt him, just the ornaments tied at his waist. There was not a doubt in her mind that Ixion couldn't lay a hand on her. The difference in their abilities were phenomenally different, and he was nothing more than a child. In fact, if Nemesis ever found the guardian cat that went around awakening children, she'd shave every inch of fur off of their body in punishment.

Children should not be drawn into a war like this.

But, she didn't really want to have to think about it. Right now, all she had to do was beat Ixion, smash his ornaments into pitiful bits, and move on to the next round. At the end of this, she'd have a nice new chunk of change and the right to shove her victory in everyone's faces. This wasn't about learning new skills or toughening herself up. She had enough of that already. This was just about winning.

The Eternal Senshi of Decay surged forward, an obvious move towards the ornament on Ixion's right-hand side, which may explain why she missed. She'd blame it on not drinking enough caffeine this morning, but it was highly more accurate that Ixion was able to see through such a blunt move.

Ixion did not share the same hesitations that Nemesis had in their particular match-up. He was actually excited for it. Sure, Sailor Nemesis was perhaps the scariest order-aligned senshi he had ever come across. Honestly, Nemesis was just plain bad a** in Ixion’s eyes, despite the nagging worry that she might melt down his body with the strange and horrific powers she had. If he could beat her? That would be like getting bragging rights forever and a day.

It was lucky that Ixion was a skilled dodger. That was the benefit of being a child, he got to practice almost all the time thanks to regular scheduled gym classes. When Nemesis came at him, Ixion leapt away and circled around her, like a wrestler escaping another. Given an opportune chance, Ixion put some distance between the two of them.

“Ixion Coal Rush!” The boy called upon his first stage power, it was the least likely to harm Nemesis. He aimed the boring lump of coal to Nemesis’s left. A hard hit, the coal broken an ornament and promptly fell to the grown.

“Ha!” Ixion gloated.

HP: 5

Before Nemesis had realized it, Ixion had managed to break one of her ornaments with his senshi attack. Nemesis considered using her own for a second, but was sure that it would get her disqualified. Paralyzing the chibi and breaking the ornaments would just be too easy, and he'd never stand a chance to defend against her. The idea of her eternal attack was instantly dismissed. Nemesis was not going to rot a child's flesh, and her attack was not permanent, it could be traumatizing. Nemesis hadn't hung around enough children to know the limits of their mental strength. She'd assume that it wasn't a lot. "You little snot! You're lucky that I'm not in the mood to introduce you to your own nightmares."

It was time for a different tactic. "You know what I do, right? I'll let you know what you're missing out on. I rot things, well, not just things, people. Anything I can get my hands on. If you're ever curious, I'll show you - eventually you'll get used to the smell of rotting flesh." Boys, she imagined, were more difficult to scare than girls. But, she just needed him to be momentarily distracted. She needed just enough time to close the distance between them again and snag at an ornament.

Whether she was just faster than Ixion, or he got genuinely distracted by her incessant chatter, she wasn't sure. All she knew that somehow that had worked. Go team Nemesis! The one-member team.

((HP: 6-1: 5))

“Eh. I’m in it to win it. “ Ixion grinned until he heardthe rest of the speech. Nemesis’s descriptions of her powers, and Ixion’s mental image of it, was distracting. In his mind, the boy pictured the flesh falling off of zombies or acid burning flesh like in that old Batman movie.

“Neat, but let’s wait till I beat you and I can get a nose plug.” The distraction was enough for Nemesis to get one of his own ornaments before he could snap out of the gore-fest that was playing in his head. Once the ornament was snatched, Ixion reeled back, reaching out to try and grab another of Nemesis’s. His hand only grazed one, his arm wasn’t quite long enough to pull it off.

HP: 5

Nemesis could have laughed as Ixion said he was 'in it to win it'. He was but one chibi senshi in a tournament filled with many more experienced senshi. Nemesis heard Castor, a prince senshi, was in the tournament (it may also be one of the reasons behind Nemesis joining it herself). If Ixion managed to beat her, there was still no way he could defeat every skilled senshi. But, that was only if he beat her, and right now it looked like that just wasn't going to happen. Her words, while having failed to frighten him, actually did succeed in distracting him.

It was one of the few talents she had, the ability to chat until her lips fell off and fight at the same time. Negaversers and senshi alike seemed to enjoy long conversations before and during fights. They were all a talkative bunch. If there was ever a quiet senshi in the face of a battle, Nemesis would doubt their identity as a senshi entirely. "Honestly, if this were a real fight, you'd be lucky if I let you reach up to plug your nose," she answered. Maybe beating the kid badly and scaring him would somehow push him out of this war.

The idea of children battling still disgusted her, even though some would still consider her a child. With a swift action, she reached out for another ornament, intent on keeping Ixion on the run while she still could. It'd be better to not let him get the advantage again.

((HP: 5-1:4))

“If this was a real fight you’d be getting a face full of coals.” The idea tempted him. That was his usually tactic with youma and other enemies, try to blind them first with soot to gain an upper hand. This however, was suppose to be a friendly affair. Going for a dirty trick, literally, might not be the best course of action. It suppose to be a training exercise though…

While Ixion debated the merits of playing fair and if Nemesis’s threats were empty or not, his opponent snagged another of his ornaments. He tried to side-step away from Nemesis and kicked towards her, but she was just too quick for him. He made an annoyed grunt, “Don’t think I won’t though.”

HP: 5

"And you'd be losing an arm - I think we both know who'd come out the winner, kid." Of course, the idea of actually rotting a child's arm off was not appealing, even to a senshi as rough as Sailor Nemesis. What they all were involved in was a war, but even so there was more than one way to fight it. Nemesis no longer felt the strong need to kill all the enemies to ensure victory. There were other ways to win, most of which Nemesis was working on... when she found the time to clear her head. Okay, so, planning wasn't her strong point. But she had ideals, she had goals, and with them came some vague outline of a plan she hoped to be strong enough to carry out one day.

Yeah, beating up some kid in a tournament wasn't part of the plan, but she got distracted. The incentive of money and bragging rights were too good to ignore. Despite her rough start at the beginning of the battle, Nemesis was falling into her natural pattern of things. She was inherently good at fighting - she certainly wasn't the best strategist, or all that surprising, she just knew how and when to move her body to avoid damage. It wasn't that she could necessarily predict his moves before making them, she just saw the beginning of an action and her body moved in accordance.

Her body twisted to the side as he lunged towards her, and as he passed by her hand reached out to snag one of his ornaments. It was unusually skillful of her, but she would never say so. "You're doing pretty much piss poor now, kid."

((HP: 4-1: 3))

Ixion was getting irritated at his string of misses. Nemesis just kept coming after him, it was difficult for the kid to keep an eye on his own ornaments let alone hers.

“Right, I would, cause you wouldn’t dare do that.” At least Ixion sincerely hoped that Nemesis would not rot off his arm. A nega’s arm, okay sure. He could definitely get behind that course of action when it was deserved. But given that Ixion and Nemesis were supposedly on the same side of this war, he doubted that they would ever really have to fight each other for real. He also doubted that Nemesis would be so cruel as to do that to a kid like him. Being less experienced in the world had to count for something.

Nemesis was really starting to tick Ixion off, the more he missed and she hit, the more he wanted to grab that ornament and smash it. When Nemesis twisted and turned, Ixion took a quick run, crouching down and sliding across the floor. He managed to grab an ornament this time.

Nemesis had to laugh, his own words almost like a challenge to her. She wouldn't take up that particular challenge, but the fact that he said that she wouldn't do something made her horribly tempted to do it. "You have no idea what I will and will not do." The Senshi of Decay smirked, deciding she'd enjoy taunting and popping his bubble than going after his ornaments at the moment. "I've hurt far more people than you ever will, those who deserve and those who do not. I wouldn't guarantee yourself protection because you're a child, and though the idea of you even fighting in this war is ******** detestable, maybe because of it I would rot you arm off repeatedly to get you the hell off this battlefield."

It really was no place for children, even this stupid tournament wouldn't prepare any child for the truth of war. The Negaverse had to look down on senshi for this, resorting to using children to try and ensure victory. If there was any way to truly deter this kid from fighting, she would try and find it. Torturing him definitely wouldn't be the answer - she wasn't going around breaking children's mind, no matter how much she threatened it.

If someone paid enough attention to Nemesis, they'd realize that most of the time she was all talk. But then, if they convinced themselves of that fact, they'd hardly be prepared for when she wasn't just boasting.

Her mind turned back to the fight, a little belatedly. Ixion was as spry as she should take kids to be, but since she didn't hang around with them all that often, she quite did not know how to handle them. She lost an ornament again, and this time she did not seek to attack him, but instead get her goddamn ornament back. She charged, hand reaching out to grab his, but he managed to elude her again.

“People? I’m not going to hurt any people, just monsters. So yeah, you might’ve.” The distinction between youma and Negaverse officers was slim to Ixion; both fell into the definition of monsters. All the senshi had the same goal, didn’t they? To get rid of the bad guys, what difference did really make if Ixion was a little younger? “A child? I’m nearly 12, that’s practically a teenager. Can’t be much younger than you.”

Spritely, Ixion jumped away from Nemesis as she charged. He had had practice before in dodging oncoming opponents. It was maybe, just maybe, one of the reasons he was able to stay alive. He might have been overconfident when it came to his power and abilities, but not when it came to dodging. Obviously, Chibi Ixion was badass. How did Nemesis not see that?

Again, Ixion used his power to gain an edge . “Ixion Coal Rush!” A piece of coal hit another of Nemesis’ ornaments. “Who’s doing piss poor now?” Ixion couldn’t help but grin.

HP: 3

"Twelve? You're definitely still a child, and on this battlefield, there really isn't a place for children. You're going to get killed, or at the very least seriously maimed before this war is over. Excuse me if I think that a child does not need to be put through these physical and mental trials." He was only younger than her by a few years, but those few years mattered a lot in Nemesis' opinion. Those few years were the difference between childhood and maturity. Those few years were the difference between someone who was willing to face death and someone who should not even be brought close to it.

The child used his attack again, and while she knew what his attack was now, it was difficult to dodge both him and the coal spiraling her way. The coal knocked into one of her ornaments, shattering it and subsequently resulting in a thoroughly pissed Senshi of Decay. If he was going to use his attack, she was going to use her's to make a point. "Nemesis' Decay of Breath!" Fortunately, it wasn't the attack that would result in her trying to rot his flesh clean off of his bones.

She stood still, waiting for him to realize the first of her attacks' effects. He'd begin to feel it in his fingers, a small tingle of the paralysis. It would grow, spread throughout the entirety of his body until he could not even blink, and then it would slowly fade. But, the true matter was what she would do with her new found advantage. The answer was 'nothing'. Nemesis could walk up and rip off his ornaments, but she figured that it would be considered cheating. Nemesis did not want to be DQed when she could just as easily beat the kid, no matter was delusions Ixion clearly had.

"I could have won from the very beginning. You'll always be piss poor in comparison to me, kid. Don't get it in your ******** up head that you're any more skillful than I am, because when it comes down to things, I am the best ******** senshi you will ever run into." So, since she couldn't cheat, she'd boast. Maybe he'd finally realize how powerless he truly was. If she were a Corrupted Senshi, he'd be dead by now. She'd have been able to paralyze him and end him before dinner was ready. That, at least, Nemesis was confident of.

((HP 3 - 0 : 3))

Ixion’s eyes widen when Nemesis finally did use one of her powers. He watched for the effects, but from what he could tell, nothing was actually happening. His face wasn’t melting off. Limbs were falling from his body like pulled-pork. None of the things that Ixion had expected of Nemesis were actually taking place. “That’s it? I thought you were going to destroy me for a second.”

Ixion made to move towards the dark-haired girl. As he strode forward, ready to go for another ornament, his grip felt tight. His feet started drag, muscles cramped up. Then he was a stiff as a corpse. Unable to move a single inch not matter how much he willed it to happen. What…. What was happening exactly? Ixion didn’t bother to say anything as he tried to force his muscles to move. He just stared at Nemesis, his face frozen with a scowl and his eyes locked intently on Nemesis’s remaining ornaments.

Suddenly, his fingers were able to twitch. It was like waking up from hibernation. Slowly but surely, Ixion regained control of his limbs. Anger at what Nemesis had done, freezing him and just standing there, welled up inside him. To him, it wasn’t cheating, but wasteful show boating. If she could do that, why not make use of it? Ixion made sure to his powers to his advantage. That was the point, wasn’t it? To refine your skills. Was Nemesis trying to teach him a lesson, in doing nothing? If so, he didn’t get it.

He kept a dead stare on Nemesis as he moved towards her at a crawling pace. Purposefully, he kept a slow stride. He walked up like he was admitting defeat, one hand out and ready to shake. “You talk too much.”

When he got close enough, Ixion acted quickly. Both his hands went to grab not one, but two of Nemesis’s remaining ornaments. Success. Both were quickly dropped to the ground, shattering. “If you were the best, you’d have more ornaments.” It was a bold move, going for both, and would likely have their repercussions. Ixion was still easy prey being so close. But now, there was just one more.
