Ellie Spectre wasn't supposed to be out and about. She was supposed to be home getting some rest. She instead had decided to walk down to work and see how things were going since she got injured. Phil was giving her plenty of grief, insisting she needed one of those "Wide Load" signs attached to her cast. It was a pretty legitimate complaint, seeing as some stranger nearly beat her up for taking up the full sidewalk. However, Phil meant it as tongue and cheek, so she wasn't about to take him seriously. Once she saw her boss' stink-eye focused on her, she knew it was time to go. Hank would probably end up calling her dad about this whole visit, but Ellie really didn't care at this point.
"See ya when I see ya!" she called back to them before she began to head back home.
It would have been a normal walk if it weren't for the fact that something managed to snake about her leg and tug her until she tripped. Considering the monstrosity of a cast she was wearing, the fall was definitely awkward, forcing her to essentially try and land on her one good hand. ".....ah... F*CK... that's smarts!" It probably wasn't the smartest thing she had ever done.
Haphazardly, she turned herself to sitting, eyes quickly shooting to the slimy appendage attached to her leg. There was no question what it was. "Youma!" Rather than sit back and take this sitting down, she used her right arm to try and swat away the slime.
The slime twitched under her hand, then all of a sudden the blonde found herself getting dragged along the asphalt. Since this wasn't the sort of reaction she was expecting, the tomboy started screaming out all sorts of obscenities. "MOTHER F*CKIN' a*****e OVA' B*TCH!!!!!"

Hum ted um la tidly dee. A prince senshi’s life was the life for him. Castor that is. Chilling out, dusting youma like a boss, tormenting Pollux with joining him for a patrol, occasionally tormenting other senshi lovingly. It was the life. What wasn’t the life was hearing a string of curses coming from one of streets he occasionally patrolled. Thinking it was probably just somebody having a bad dad, he kept out of sight…until he saw just what a certain civilian was saving. “Well s**t.” Running up, a decisive kick to the youma sent it off the girl. “Been a while since I saw you last.” The youma hissed, getting up, ready for a round two. Glancing over to her, he sighed. “You may hate me for this, but I am not about to just let you die over pride.”

The slimey tentacle or appendage or whatever it was was soon enough ripped off from her body as something with a feathery a** seemed to kick it away. It wasn't hard for her to tell who this senshi was. Stubbornly, she pushed herself up to her feet awkwardly, almost seeming to growl at the senshi's presence.
She had never met this boy as a civilian in her entire life, but she had met him as a senshi way too many times. So it wasn't too long before she was shouting at the blue fuku adorned boy "Leave me th'f*ck alone, Castor! I can take care of myself!" She still had one good arm and two good legs. She might not have her familiar yellow fuku, but she could tell this youma wasn't particularly strong. It was similar to some of the first she had encountered in the city back as a basic senshi. Slimy, relatively shapeless, and pretty damned weak.
Rather than wait for round two to begin officially, she then charged rather stupidly towards the youma, readying her right hand for a knuckle sandwich she'd make this goo-ball eat, one way or another.

Oh god seriously? SERIOUSLY? This girl must have had a death wish. “Wait- God damn-“ Bitches. Goddamn bitches. Having to try and do everything on their own. “******** wait-“ Before he could stop her the youma was flicking it’s tentacles around in delight. The prey was coming to it! As her fist landed it hissed at reacted with and slap of one slimy appendage. “s**t-“ Grabbing her before more damage could be done, one hand reached up for his tiara. Pulling it off, the attack was practically hissed. Spinning glowing headgear of death flew at the youma hitting it right on. From darkness to dust, the youma was dead. Thank god. Now to deal with-
“What the ******** were you thinking? That could have killed you!”

Though she felt her fist connect with the youma, due to the squishy body it had, it wasn't nearly as satisfying as making the hit on a more solid opponent. Fact was she hit it and it flinched. Before she could follow up her one punch with another one, she could feel herself being yanked back by her cast of all things. It probably wasn't very healthy to do such, but fighting a youma without the ability to henshin up was also up there in the list of unhealthy activities she was participating in.
She could feel a slight twinge in her shoulder though after that drastic yank, which got a mild muttered "...f*ck..." out of her. While she was distracted by the mild discomfort in her shoulder, she missed the specifics of how the youma was defeated. However, point was, when she looked up, the youma was no longer there. Just some dust that was in the air from the destruction of yet another Negaverse monster. There was no surprise in her looks in all honesty, as if she had a seasoned eye for this sort of destruction.
Despite how her shoulder twinged, the blonde then yanked her cast out of the senshi's hold. "Yer gonna make it so I gotta go back t'the hospital, jackass!" Ellie was ever the grateful one, most definitely.
When he asked her in an exasperated tone about her mindset, she put it out there simple enough. "I've fought things stronger than that weaklin' youma before! I would've been fine!"

Oh my god would he ever get a break? No, probably not. As Ellie fought to get away from him, Castor didn’t bother trying. What did have him curious was the fact she had tried fighting it. She was just a civilian, hell, while some might fight they sure as all hell didn’t know what youma were. They shouldn’t anyway. “That’s a bit odd.” He said, arms crossing. “Most people don’t know that the monsters are called youma.” Blue eyes narrowed. “And for one to know that, as well as just who I am-“ He was betting she either had connections, or, she was way to involved for her own good. “You’re a bit suspicious.”
It might have been blunt, but he didn’t see the point in beating around the bush. “If anything, the youma is dead and you’re alive. Even if you got sent to the hospital, considering? I’d prefer to be alive and in pain than being dead. Death is a little more long term and all that.” His frown was obvious. Save a life and get yelled at. Standard senshi procedure. Not that different from other civilians in that respect. And hand reached out. “But if you need to go to the hospital I’ll escort you.” Eye flicked to the cast. “I honestly didn’t want to hurt you by accident, but I also didn’t want to see you get killed.”

"'Yer a bit suspicious!'" she repeated in a vaguely mocking tone. As long as Ellie Spectre was involved, poor Castor was probably not going to get a break. She rolled her eyes a bit before starting to walk again. If she stood there, she wasn't exactly going to get home anytime soon.
The senshi seemed to be getting all conversational on her though, so she easily uttered "If ya wanna talk at me, ya gotta walk too... show me yer at least that coordinated." With her free hand, she signaled that he was allowed to follow her if he wanted. She still had a ways to go before reaching her home, so she wasn't afraid of the senshi of hail getting all stalkery on her.
When he mentioned going to the hospital, she just shook her head at him. "I didn't say I actually needed t'go back t'the hospital... jus' don't go gankin' people around like that's all I'm sayin'! Eesh... I can handle myself perfectly fine!" It seemed ironic that this statement was coming from someone wearing a shoulder spica cast.

Ellie was getting on Castor nerves. Pretty easy to do normally, but he was trying not to flip his s**t. He really was. Trying as hard as he could, he couldn’t help but twitch at her sarcasm. “…” Bite his tongue was what he was going to have to do to keep himself from bitching at her. Why did civilians think that they could do it themselves or that senshi wanted to hurt them. Well, he’d take sarcastic girl over screaming woman any day.
Crossing his arms, he walked after her. “How did you know my name, and for that how did you know that was called a youma?” Call him paranoid, but he figured she was one of three things. An ally, an enemy, or a regular girl who was in way to deep. “As for being perfectly fine you didn’t look fine. You looked like a girl in a cast, trying to fight a youma like an idiot. What if I didn’t show up? What if it had others? What if that was just a baby and the mother was nearby? What if a negaverse agent was hanging about? I assume from how you know what a youma is, you know what a negaverse agent is.” A huff. “I am here to protect, but people like you make it ******** hard when they up and think they can do it themselves. I want to keep people safe, even if they know it or not. Act ungrateful if you want, but for ******** sake don’t act like it was nothing. An attack on your life is still an attack on your life Ellie.” He remembered her name. He also had bitched. WHOOPS.
Another huff. “Hospital or not, I still don’t know if it injured you. You act like it didn’t but I would like a definitive answer.”

The girl walked with her one good hand along her belt loop, thumb hooked into the spot as she was essentially being tailed by a senshi. It was only when he began to ask about how she knew his name that she realized how badly she f*cked this whole thing up. Right, she had never encountered Castor as Ellie before. To her, it wasn't as odd that she knew that youma were called youma. They were pretty much everywhere these days, and she was certain the terms got slipped out frequently.
For now, her defense was staying stubbornly quiet, letting the jerk behind her rattle on about how he saw the situation. Asking all of the wouldas, shouldas, and couldas that were irrelevant because none of them happened. In all honesty, this was what she felt was typical Castor. Assuming that someone wasn't able to take care of him-or-herself. Trying to play everything like it was a f*cking drama and expecting people to be grateful when maybe they weren't in as much danger as he assumed they were. Her own views were obviously slanted, and she definitely wasn't the profound sort who could observe such a flaw in herself.
There was something that broke the silence pretty quickly. The moment she heard her name, she turned around sharply, her good arm seeming to try and grab him by the collar of his fuku. "...th'f*ck ya jus' say, boy?!" Just as she shouldn't have known that his name was Castor, Castor shouldn't have known her name. Ellie wasn't the sort to just casually say her name all over the place. Of course, the obvious fact she was wearing a giant cast that had all sorts of well wishes written on it didn't seem to really factor into the equation at all.
While still somewhat in his face, she then gave him a response to his worrying about her potential injuries. "Th'youma didn't injure me, damnit. It dragged me along fer a bit, but I was ridin' on m'f*ckin' cast... I told ya already, ya probably were th'only one who f*cked up anythin'... jus' my shoulder. Ain't anythin' major at all!"

"I said your ******** name Ellie. Because I know who you are, even if you don't know who I am. All things considered, it's safer that way. The less you know about me the better." A hand picked at it buttbow. "Besides, I'm not Castor all the time. Everybody is human in the end." True, they were all human, but not everyone was good, just like not everyone was bad. Sadly with the level of violence the negaverse kept at, identities were best hidden for all parties.
Plus she might have hated him even more. "...." She assurance was still not settling, but with the way she was acting he figured to drop it. "Thank you. I tend to worry, and I am sorry for causing you pain, even if brief. Truthfully I'd rather have not hurt you. We senshi don't need anymore bad press." It was a bitter pill to swallow at times. For all the good they did, the damn negaverse had to go and ******** s**t up. "If it makes you feel better, I haven't seen you since we first met a few years ago."
He kept walking. "From your attitude, you haven't seemed to change much."

Well, if there was anything he could have said or even hinted towards that would have made her brain implode, it was the fact that Ellie knew Castor when he wasn't even powered up. The only form of reassurance she managed to get was at the very end when he mentioned it had been a very long while since they had seen each other outside of the senshi business.
Eventually, to shift from the awkwardness she had felt upon that whole partial confession, she spat out to the side a bit in a boyish fashion. She would never try to be the picture of femininity.
"Yer wrong... yer Castor all of the time. Ya might not be in fuku all'a th'time... but yer Castor all of th'time." All of the senshi had been reborn from a past existence, and no matter how many of the details changed, they would always be that senshi. Just because you didn't wear a fuku didn't mean the starseed in that person's chest changed.
With a half smile and a slightly softer tone, she added "...yer a jackass now, and yer probably a jackass when yer outta' uniform."

“Yes and no.” Her calling him a jackass got him smiling. Hey, he wasn’t going to deny the obvious. “Castor is who I am in truth, but I can’t say who I was before I knew I was Castor was any less real, any less a part of who I am. “ She kept acting like she knew more than she let on. “If you keep acting like this I don’t suppose you’d tell me just how you learned about senshi and youma?” He figured it didn’t hurt to ask.
“As for out of uniform, when we met I was more interested in who’s pants I could get into than much else. Now I like to think I’ve changed. Married and less focused on those types of things, but the a** part?” He laughed. “Yeah, probably still and doubt that will change or go away. You on the other hand I don’t know. But you really should just accept help. Even if you think you didn’t need it, which would you have considered better? Me trying to help or me standing by and watching? “ It was an honest enough question. “Sorry if it comes off as me being a presumptuous jerk, but I’d think people made at me helping is better than having them pissed I didn’t help at all. Now that I think about it-“ He stopped his pace and crossed his arms. “Do you honestly this less of me for try to help?”

As he point-blank asked her to reveal how she knew what she knew, she flat out told him "Yer barkin' up the wrong tree, Castor. It ain't happenin'!"
Their steps eventually began to lead the way to the park, which was Ellie's sign that she'd have to stop soon, since she didn't need the senshi of hail knowing which house nearby she specifically lived in. The plan had been to wait to find a bench before stopping, but it seemed as if Castor's feet had slowed down to a stop.
"Uh... dude... TMI... I don't need t'hear'bout yer life story." In all honesty, he sounded p***y-whipped based off his own descriptions. She might have even said such aloud if he hadn't switched to the topic of him saving her.
"...well... not everyone is as incapable as ya make'em seem..." The moment she said such though, the blonde girl fell absolutely silent. She had a brain, but she rarely used it, but now that she had said such aloud, it only made her think about how she had been treating her team. She had even told the cat how she had done everything she had thus far to protect the others. Where as the sentiment still held true, for this brief silent moment, she couldn't help but wonder if they felt the same way about how she treated them.
The girll soon enough shook her head from side to side, as if to shake away those stray thoughts from her head before she gave her opinion of Castor. "I don't think less of ya... but I didn't really think much of ya t'begin with... I also don't think any better of ya either." Her one good shoulder rolled for a half shrug. "It's just... well... whatever."

“Woof woof.” Was his reply. “Consider yourself lucky if a negaverse officer heard you speaking about them; they would probably kill you. People aren’t supposed to know. Not only is it safer for you, it’s easier for us. Watch your mouth, because these days what you say can get you killed.” He huffed. “And how was that too much information? I didn’t go into detail about my sex life did I? Because that is most definitely too much information. “ He chuckled a bit, not thinking to much into it.
She was much like he remembered her, if a bit less dramatic. Then again he’d been a bit more dramatic and douchy. Oh well, time moved on. “People are never incapable but that doesn’t mean they are invincible. Sometimes we senshi like to think we’re stronger, better than everyone else. We get arrogant, and then we put not just ourselves but everyone who depends on us at risk. Many of us don’t have the experience of having our deaths mere seconds away and surviving. Many of us are lucky that we never had to see someone we love suffer because of what we are. Some of us forget that we as senshi, are not necessarily better than anyone else, we are just lucky enough to have a gift. Regular people are the same in a way. It’s easy to forget that for each time you move alone, you are leaving others behind. You’re forgetting your weakness, and letting pride or arrogance make you weaker for it.” He wasn’t sure if it would make sense, but, it did to him.
“I suppose a bit of myself would prefer you to like me, but I can’t force that. Pretty much the whole city is the same. I wish I could show them just why we fight, but that’s not an option, it’s not something we can do.” Sadness had crept into his voice. Not so much towards her, but towards the general fact. “Sorry. For blabbering at you. This is about as far as I’ll go. If I linger any longer near you I’m bound to attract attention, and none of the good kind.”Scratching the back of his head he smiled. “I’ll hang back for a block before I’ll leave, if anything picked up on me, that would give you enough time to getaway and find somewhere safe. Hopefully that won’t happen, but better safe the sorry.”

She could care less if a Negaverse officer heard her talking about youma. They weren't exactly discreet about the monsters, and if a senshi was around, a civilian could easily hear the term. The "secrets" weren't all that secret these days.
"...it was TMI because I don't give a rat's a** what ya do when yer not in fuku. Don't give a damn if ya got a wife or not. Ya might as well shove th'ring in my face if yer gonna be so obvious 'bout it." Save for her team, it was just easier to not know about the everyday details about the other senshi. There was already too many senshi she had encountered that she had to remember the names to. At this rate, if she knew every detail about them, she'd probably need a spare brain to remember it all.
As the senshi rambled, the tomboy tried to somewhat tune him out. She didn't need lectures from a senshi who had issues in the past keeping his hands to himself. However, words and phrases seemed to just find a place in her ears and into her brain. It wasn't something she'd think about now, but somehow she knew she'd remember the words later. It was kind of annoying knowing that she'd be thinking later over this subject matter pretty much against her will.
"I ain't th'sorta person who likes people too readily. However... there's this thing called respect. Ya show me some, I show ya some. Ya didn't grab my a** t'day... and I say 'thank ya' fer savin' my a** back there." Her tone wasn't exactly the prime example of gratitude, but it had been done, which was more than she would usually offer.
She almost slipped and commented I know why we fight, but realized just before saying it that it would be too obvious what she was. She nodded in his direction, then replied "I don't care what ya do now... as long as ya ain't followin' me home. Last thing I need t'explain to my neighbors is why I have a senshi followin' my a**." It was a sad thought that her neighbors were actually a more constant presence than her own parents, but it was a sad thought that she promptly ignored.
With that, she turned away, waving her good hand up in the air slightly and calling back "Don't get yerself killed."
