((left the title open in case we ever have any other RPs we can stash around here. :3 ))
Kinyamkela stretched sleepily, forepaws out far in front, tail flicking lightly in the air. She felt refreshed somehow, despite it only just past the hot hours of the mid-day; she also felt gloriously light on her feet once more, the small lives which had grown within her curled tight around each other in a sleepy bundle, just within the shade of the cave entrance.
The snow-and-silver lioness took in a deep breath of the air which seemed so clean next to the waterfalls' swirling pools, the steaming heat of the jungle washed away by fresh mountain air. One golden eye lazily on the cave mouth behind her, she padded down to the river's edge to take a drink.

The dark lioness had been here for some time, ever since she'd come here, well, limped here, she'd always stayed in her cave waiting for her forepaw to be healed.
And it was doing so quite nicely.
She had just popped out for a drink and maybe to look around, she hadn't met any of the rest of the pride and was curious to see who was around. That and she'd been spending most of her time with Ramses and boy, did it show, even if she didn't realise it.
As she approached the river however, her deep red eye's caught the snow white lioness in her gaze, only to c**k her head slightly. Maybe this was another misty?
She gave a small shrug before approaching slowly.
"Hello?"

Kinyamkela's first response was to spring back from the water's edge, grey ears going flat to her head and eyes mistrusting. Another female? She did her best not to let her eyes flick worriedly towards the cave where the cubs lay sleeping, as it might give away their position, and instead kept her eyes on the approaching dark female.
"Who are you?" The tone was as friendly as she could make it, and the practical cheerful lioness would not doubt have greeted her better had she not been a new mother. But even as her eyes roved over the form of the black lioness, her markings, her slight limp... when Ramses had last come to vist, had he not....?

Laana was taken back by the sudden jump the female made, halting for a short time before she slowly continued, why did this female seem so tense to her?
She gave a small smile, trying to look as gentle as she could with this female, as not to make her feel threatened.
"I'm sorry, I'm Laana...I came here with Ramses and Ithibati..."
Even as she approached it was obvious, with the small bulge in her stomache, that something was up.

Relief flooded the snowy lioness' face, and she took a few steps forward instead, a warm smile on her face. "I'm sorry for jumping like that. Ha, I'm so glad to meet you at last! Ramses has talked of nothing but you every time we have spoken in the last month..."
She trotted a few paces upstream to where a large boulder made it possible to cross the river, low now in the arid heat. She leapt lightly onto it and then across to the other bank, revelling once again in her returned speed and movement. "There, that makes it easier to talk, does it not?" She adressed the lioness, her opposite in colouring but sharing wary smiles. A quick glance across the river showed the cave entrance clearly to her; the cubs were still safely tucked away, no harm would come to them.
"And sorry for not introducing myself either. I'm Kinyamkela, Ramses' brother's mate?" She kept her extra sly comment to herself, after coming closer to Laana and immediately noticing something that she might not perhaps have done a few months ago.

The lioness was relieved herself to find out she was as scared as she had been for that second, a soft, confident smile lacing her lips, especialy as the mention of Ramses talking non stop about her.
Laana couldn't help but flatten her ear's bashfully against her skull at the thought of the dark lion, she'd grown so fond of him over the month's and it'd had become stronger.
However, the lioness smiled and chuckled slightly at the snowy female's acrobatics, only to nod. "Yes it certainly does make it better to talk." She hadn't been able to do that in a while, she was still unsure why though.
Wait.
Ramses had a brother? This was new, still, she couldn't be more pleased at the information, it meant more lions to meet in the pride. "It's nice to meet you Kinya'."

The snowy lioness tilted her head with a smile. "'Kela will do. Ah..." She didn't want to ask outright, but was desperate to find out the answer anyway. After all that trouble with the strange cubkiller, Ramses had been bashful about whether he would press Laana about such things, but Kinyamkela really had no doubt that there was something going on.
She flicked a pale tailtip towards the dark lioness playfully. "And how are you and Ramses getting on? And how is your injury? I heard it was injured.. and Ithibati told me it was still a bit painful for you?"

"Alright then Kela'." She said, correcting herself, only to watch the snowy lioness. She looked like...she knew something that she didn't...what?
Anyway, at the question she chuckled and shook her head slightly. "No, it dosen't hurt at all...and as for me and Ramses well...let's just say we've gotten MUCH closer." She said, adding a playful wink toward's Kinyamkela as if to say 'if you catch my drift'.
Laana was happy with Ramses. Very happy.

So, it was true! Kinyamkela smiled widely and laughed, letting her golden eyes stray lightly over to the cave entrance across the river. All was still quiet, and she turned back to the lioness by her side.
"I'm glad you and Ramses have got together," said the snowy lioness innocently. "And when are the cubs due?" She tipped her tail carelessly at the slightly rounded sides of the other lioness.
Completely unaware of the import of her words...

The lionesses eye's shot wide open, blinking at her, what did she mean, cubs!? "Cubs!? I, I don't know what you..." She then looked at herself properly, she'd gotten larger, ever since that night, but, but she thought she was only getting fat.
She then looked up straight away. "Oh my God I'm pregnant!!!" Laana practicly faltered till she lay down, eye's still wide as she shook with fear and surprise.
She was pregnant, with Ramses cubs and she hadn't even realised till being told.

Kinyamkela was completely taken aback at the lioness' reaction. Laana hadn't realised? She felt incredibly guilty all of a sudden, and lay down anxiously beside the other lioness, feeling oddly comfortable in her presence. Perhaps it was the meaning of knowing they were in the same pride; she remembered her mother and her aunt and the other lionesses all congregating every afternoon together, letting all the cubs play around them. She'd been away from what was nominally her pride now for so long... and both the mother and the female in her instincitively wanted to comfort Laana.
"I... I thought you knew already, I'm sorry to say such a thing.. it was out of place of me," the snowy lioness said softly, anxiously.

She was pregnant? Oh God, she wondered if Ramses knew and how he'd take it. He'd probably be much better then what she was. The lioness shook softly, only to look over at Kela' and shake her head. "No, no, it's ok, I'm glad to know it's just...such a shock, I mean...shouldn't I have noticed? I feel so stupid."
She sighed and gave a weak smile at Kela', tail twitching back and forth before she looked at her swollen stomach. "Well...at least it'll be good for the pride..."

Kinyamkela snorted. "Hah, the only reason I noticed is because, well.." She looked puzzled for a moment. "Because maybe my senses are a bit more alert to that sort of thing at the moment." She looked across the river again, her eyes going a little distant. "But this is wonderful! You are carrying some little cousins to my three little ones... Enki will be overjoyed!" She stopped briefly. "Unless you don't want me to tell him?" She looked mischievous. "I'm sure Ramses will want to tell his brother the news and not have him know already..."

Laana giggled softly, placing one paw ontop of the other as she moved her tail to gently flick against her swollen mass. She then smirked a little. "I think Ramses would love to tell his brother personaly...although I didn't know you, yourself had cubs, how many?" This was getting more and more interesting by the second. And boy did she love it.

"Seeing you are a member of my pride, I guess I could let you see my little ones..." Kinyamkela ruthlessly stomped down on her instinct to keep them all for herself! and smiled disarmingly. "Come see Ramses' little nieces and nephew..."
She nudged the dark lioness' shoulder lightly with her nose, still puzzled about how quickly she managed to gel with her. The were complete opposites of colour, and she barely knew Laana except through reputation... it seemed no-one in the rest of the pride talked about herself and Enki. For all she knew, she and Laana could be opposites in personality too..
But still the strong feeling of pridal kinship had been thrust upon the young mother, and she got to her feet and padded towards the boulder crossing, peering behid her shoulder to the other.
