Variga - Modified form of variegatus, the species name of Bradypus variegatus, a type of three toed sloth.

Personality:
Lazy and careless are both words that describe Abrila. She doesn't put much thought into anything and she doesn't really notice other trolls. In fact she tends to interact with other trolls' stuff more than other trolls. She doesn't respect private property, though she is smart enough to avoid places where she could get into deep trouble. Trash, in particular, is fair game to her.
Abrila has only a basic interest in the caste system. She understands that she is a lowblood and will be treated as such by highbloods, but it doesn't really matter how she is treated as long as she can continue to do her own thing. She tries to say the right things to a confrontational highblood, but she tends to blurt out the wrong things anyways, so it's more likely that she will keep her mouth shut and comply until she can be on her merry way.
Most of the time Abrila comes off as an angry troll, and she might speak in a snappy or abrupt manner. But this comes from her wariness and her reluctance to converse with other trolls, rather than actual annoyance with anyone or anything in particular. She tries to sound tough in an attempt to get everyone to leave her alone. Abrila is pretty insecure when she's out in public. She usually says things without thinking about them first, so she has trouble putting her opinions into words. Plus, she tends to blurt out really wrong and inappropriate things when she is feeling uncomfortable.
Naturally, Abrila stays away from large groups. If she is forced into a crowd, she will try to keep herself from being noticed.
Strengths:
Self-sufficient: Abrila has become self-sufficient out of necessity. Since she doesn't depend on other trolls (and her lusus' care has been spotty at best) Abrila learned at a young age that if she wants something done, she has to do it herself. That doesn't mean she is a hard-worker, though. She just knows how to do the bare minimum to get by.
Patient: "Good things come to those who wait" is definitely a saying Abrila can live by. She doesn't mind waiting for things to come her way, because why put unneeded effort into anything? She could sit and wait forever for something interesting to happen, and she wouldn't mutter a single complaint.
Forgiving(?): Abrila is forgiving simply because she doesn't often worry about the past. She is the type who lives completely in the present and she understands that what happened in the past cannot be changed, so she sees no reason to continue thinking about it. Someone would have to push Abrila really, really far before she would be aggravated enough to hold a grudge.
Thrifty: As a troll who started out with very little to her name, she understands the importance of cherishing and caring for the things she has. So she hates seeing other trolls waste perfectly good things. If they don't want them anymore, she will gladly take them off their hands. Or out of their garbage. Whichever is easiest.
Flaws:
Unmotivated: Abrila waits until the very last minute to get anything done. She is a terrible procrastinator and if she doesn't feel the need to jump up and finish something, she won't. She also has no motivation to go out and fill her quadrants, or to seriously pursue a future career. She knows that she will have to eventually or else she will be culled... But she won't do anything until she feels pressured.
Lazy: And how! She is practically narcoleptic. If she isn't moving around or keeping herself busy, she will quickly drift off to sleep. She doesn't like exerting herself much, either. If she can lie around in one spot all day, she totally will.
Socially awkward: Abrila has never really learned how to interact with other trolls, which is why she tends to act all kinds of awkward in public. Instead she's become kind of suspicious of them, since she has trouble reading facial expressions and tones of voice.
Near-sighted: She is very near-sighted, both literally and figuratively. If she ever loses her glasses, Abrila will bumble around like a fool. She can barely see her hand in front of her face. She's also near-sighted when it comes to her future. She doesn't really think about anything more complicated than what she is going to do the next day, thus she has no idea what she might be doing sweeps from now. Nor can she bring herself to care.
Weapon: Shovelkind. For digging herself out of messes.
Appearance:
Physical
Abrila is rather small and thin for her age. Her hair is kept long, with two front sections that curl around her face, and a natural orange streak that is the same colour as her blood. Her hair tends to be in various states of disarray, depending on where she has been. She doesn't take very good care of it.
She has two long horns with two bends in them. The first almost forms a 90 degree angle, while the second bend is more extreme than the first. The sharp tips point outwards from her head. The horns themselves sweep back on her head at a 45 degree angle.
Abrila has been blessed with fairly straight, sharp teeth, except for two fangs that poke up from her jaw in a mild underbite.
Her eyes look kind of droopy, like she hasn't had much sleep in a while.
Her small nose is button-like, slightly flattened, and points upwards, which keeps her glasses from slipping off her face.
Clothing
Abrila's clothes look well-worn... because they are. She loves her favourite turtleneck sweater. She pulled out of a greenblood's trash some time ago, and she has kept it as an important part of her wardrobe ever since. It's too big for her, so she has to roll up the sleeves if she wants to keep her hands exposed. It is also long and loose in the body, which makes her small frame look even smaller. She took care to paint her symbol on it to avoid awkward stares.
She also wears a dark grey pair of jeans. They are very plain, but they have a few pockets where she can stash small things. They are also too long and loose for her, so they are held up by a black belt fastened with a silver buckle.
Her glasses are also quite plain, with very light, flexible frames that resist bending and breaking.
Sometimes she wears running shoes. They are greyish white and extremely worn out. She usually forgets to tie the laces. Other times, she just goes barefoot.
Home: She lives on the lower level of a communal hive stem in the busy part of the city. Her hive is filled to the brim with miscellaneous objects. She hates being surrounded by other trolls all of the time, but she doesn't want to leave the city either.
Lusus:
Abrila's lusus is a giant slothbeast that she calls Slothmom. She stands about ten feet tall on her hind legs, and she has long, curved claws that could be pretty dangerous if she actually cared to use them. Most of the time she can be found curled up asleep near Abrila's recuperacoon unless she is out on the search for food.
Slothmom also has a flattened snout, long ears, and sharp teeth that jut out from her bottom jaw. These features help her to root around in the dirt and trash until she finds something tasty to eat. Sometimes she brings Abrila food, but Abrila doesn't tend to eat it for some reason.
