He was patient, watching the herds go by as he had himself somewhat out in the open from the tall grass that tickled his body. Cythraul was hungry and a good zebra sounded like a delicious meal at the moment. It'd be a waste of the rest of the meat though he noted, oh well whatever scavenger came along could have whatever pickings he left. It was a win-win situation. So he took off, already having scoped out who were the weakest links in the herd and dashed after them.
Licking his blood soaked lips he turned his head to the sound he heard as he munched on his meal. A lioness it seemed. Was she hunting the same game he had just taken or did she want a piece of the prize he had won? If it was the latter he'd gladly allow her to feast with him, after all he loved a woman's company.

Hotza had watched the lion take down the zebra. It was rather impressive. She wasn't much of a hunter herself so anyone who could take down a zebra like that was amazing to her. Her gaze met his when he looked at her. She gave him a friendly grin. He didn't seem to have ill intent, maybe this was her chance to meet a friend out in the rogue lands. How exciting, she thought as she made her way toward him.
This was Hotza's first time away from her parents and she was experencing being by herself for the first time. She wasn't having any troubles, except she was lonely. During her travels she hadn't met anyone who seemed to care about her or even tried to scare her off. It was a bit depressing for her. All she wanted was to make some friends.
"Hello there!" She said approaching him with a grin, her eyes twinkling. "My name's Hotza. I'm sorta new around here. I was wondering if I could have a quick bite to eat."

Cythraul tilted his head to her, "Ya want a bite of me food?" He made himself sound like he was appalled by her question, but he grinned at her and was caught in her eyes. They were almost similar to his. "Yar, ye can 'ave some of me food. Come." He was pretty full now and there were still come good pickings there.
He noted her colors, a black coat with what he believed by a mask. What sort of tricks could this girl play with him? "Cythraul." Keeping an eye on her, "What ye doin' out 'ere? Seem lost."
Hotza, he's remember that name unless he could convince her to come back with him. He tried to do that with the women he met on his travels. That and look for what treasures he could.

She smiled at him. He was friendly after all! She took a quick bite out of the meal. The way he spoke was rather odd, she noted, though she supposed he would think the same thing about her. "Thank you very much Cythraul." she would remember his name in case she ran into him again. "It is very sweet of you to share your meal. I know how tough it is to catch a meal on your own."
She had already come to that trouble hunting. It was so much easier to hunt when you had others with you. By yourself it was just a choir.
"I'm a little lost. I'm looking for a place to call home. Once I became an adult my parents decided that I should go out and see the world and find a home far away from them. That way I won't have to rely on them." She explained. As she talked about her parents she felt a little homesick. A hint of sadness fell into her eyes. "But I am sure I'll find a place. I just need to keep looking."

Licking his chops to wipe up some of the blood from his kill. "I can catch me own kills, 'elp would 'ave been nice. I'd share me meal with any mistress in need." A lost female eh? He could easily take advantage of her but he wouldn't just yet. Cythraul was still scoping her out. "Lookin' fer a 'ome eh?" He have her a toothy grin, "Stay with me an' I can 'elp ya find ya a 'ome."
The sadness in her eyes touched him. He could be heartless but he needed to seem soft. So moving closer to her he put a paw on hers. "Findin' a place ta call yers. I found a place, maybe ye will call it 'ome too."

"You really would do that for me!" She said excitedly. It was her lucky day. She was told about the scary strangers you met in the rogue land, but Cythraul didn't seem mean at all. He was rather nice so far. "What is the place like if you don't mind me asking? I mean- I'll gladly go with you to check it out for myself, it's just that I want to be prepared when I get there so I'm not just in shock!"
She didn't want to embarrase herself in the new lands. It would be dreadful to get there and not understand the customs. She was a quick learner, which for her was a good thing. "Do you have family there already or are you by yourself?" she asked curiously. She had wondered a bit when she first saw him if he was out hunting for his family. Since he was sharing she guessed he probably didn't. It was a shame though. Such a kind lion would make an excellent father.

"I would yar." The lion responded. "What's me 'ome like... its by the sea. Waves rush on the beach. Its beautiful. And the sunsets. Its 'ard though. Ya make a name fer yerself there." And as a female she'd have it harder than a male. Especially if she wanted to rise above her status.
Family. He didn't have a family, not except Pirato. Though he wasn't sure what to call Pirato at this point. He was his King, his leader and he respected that. "No family." He responded, which was true. Though he didn't think he'd be much of a family guy. "No mate. Me pride is me family. I don't 'ave a woman to lie down with me at night if that's what ye be meanin'."

"It sounds beautiful! I can't even imagine it. I've never even seen the sea before. Oh how exciting. I'm good with hardship I'll do my hardest to not be in the way and help out when ever it is needed. I think I am a good worker. I've never worked in a pride before, just helping my family hunt. I am sure it is similar though. A pride is like a family right?"
"It's a shame you don't have a family. I think you would make a good father. You are very kind," she nodded her head when he spoke about not having a female. She understood what it was like not having a mate. She longed to have one, but was perfectly content until she found the right male. "I am sure you will find the right woman for you. I am also looking, but I'm pretty patient when it come to waiting. I would wait a life time to find the perfect mate."

The dark male nodded, "Me pride is me family. We take care of one 'nother." Which was true, when you were in a crew you looked out for each other. But lying and slandering was just out of the question. "Ye will make a good worker." He smiled at her. Hotza would do well in the pride, he could foresee it. She also had a personality he liked and it fit well with his sort of people.
"When the time is right, she'll find me." Cythraul commented on what she said about finding a mate. "Fer now, I be setting me eyes on the stars." Which meant he'd sleep with every woman he could to find out if she was, the one.

"That's a good way of looking at it," she could see the handsome lion staring up at the stars, waiting for his love to find him. The whole thing was romantic. She hoped that he would find the one. He deserved someone. "Can you tell me more about your pride? It sounds amazing." A family, that was the type of pride she would want to be in.
"I'm so excited to see it myself. It is going to be amazing. I know it is." She was getting herself excited. She knew she would love the pride no matter what it was like. As long as she felt at home it would be perfect to her.

Now it was time to tell her what he was. He had waited until the last moment, this could put her off but she didn't seem like the type to be deterred by what he would tell her. There were good and bad things about being a pirate and she would see the good of it. "Me pride, we be pirates. We pillage and we plunder, but we be family. We watch out fer one 'nother." He repeated that part for more emphasis. "Ye will like it there. Come, we'll travel back together."

"Pirates?" she repeated staring at him. She had heard stories about pirates and they always were up to no good. But they were a family, she reminded herself. A close family and that's what she wanted more than anything. She wondered if she could become one of them. Only time would tell, she decided. She would travel with him, no matter where he went, she decided. He was he family for now.
