Once upon a time...
There was a girl and she was one of the most popular girls in high school. She had lots of friend, was involved in multiple extracurricular activities, and to top it off, she was beautiful. All the boys wanted her. Unfortunately for them she was not interested. In fact, she was afraid to fall in love. Why? Because she had a secret. While everyone in school saw her as the attractive cheerleader, her family knew her as the hardcore gamer. When she got home from school she would retreat to her room and play countless hours of video games before emerging to do her homework. She did not want guys to be turned off by that.
However...
One day while gaming she stumbles across a player she has never met before. They get to talking and she finds out they have a lot in common (minus the being popular part, which she keeps a secret). Eventually they develop feelings for each other, despite the fact they have never met. She wants to meet him, but she is afraid he will be intimidated by her popularity...
What will she do?

Hey! I’m Piper and I’m 16 years old. I’m a sophomore in high school and I belong to the popular clique. I was born on April 14 and so far my life has been pretty amazing. I have the best family and friends anyone could ever ask for. My little brother can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but what little sibling isn’t? Anyways, I’m class president and co-captain of the cheer squad. I do well enough in school that I’m an English and math tutor in my spare time. However, what my friends don’t know is that I’m a closet gamer. I love playing Xbox and PS3 as well as different MMORPG’s. I think I’m a pretty cool person. I’m friendly and very easy to get along with, which is why I know so many people and so many people know me. I’m honest, trustworthy, and responsible. I also like to laugh and smile. I like baking, eating baked goods, dancing, and playing video games, and I can’t stand jocks, rain, meat, and bullies. By the way, this is what I look like…

Hey! I’m Justin Fletcher and I’m 17 years old. I’m a junior in high school and I belong to the gamer clique. I was born on July 5 and I live in my basement. It's not that bad, since it's a freaking entertainment center down there.I don't get much attention in school, but I'm okay with it. I don't do well in crowds, anyway.. I think I’m a pretty cool person. I’m funny, smart, and pretty fun to be around. I'm loyal, honest, and I always help out my friends.. I like games, hanging out with friends, and chocolate, and I can’t stand running, skunks, and rain. By the way, this is what I look like…

Piper looked at her reflection in her mirror, tucking stray strands of blonde hair behind her ear. Reaching into her purse, she extracted her lip gloss and quickly applied it before removing her English binder from her locker. She glanced at her reflection one last time before closing her locker and heading to class. "Piper!" she heard someone yell behind her. Stopping in the middle of the hall, Piper turned around to see her best friend Mimi making her way toward her. "Hey!" Piper said with a smile. "You ready for cheer practice today?" Piper rolled her eyes. "No. I can't believe Tanya wants to change the routine again." "You're co-captain. Talk to her about it." Piper laughed as she and Mimi walked into the classroom together. "Yeah right. Tanya's a senior. I don't even want to think about crossing her again." Piper and Mimi took their seats just as the bell rang for class to being.

Justin walked in and took his seat in class. He managed to make it just in time. He ignored the conversation of the two cheerleaders, since it held no interest for him. He was a proud gamer, who spent a good deal of time on his games. He just couldn't wait for school to be over, since he just got a new MMORPG last week, and he was dying to play it.

Piper took copious notes throughout class. She was an English tutor after all. However, whenever someone asked the teacher a question, Piper's thoughts would drift. Not to cheer practice, but to the new MMORPG she was expecting to get in the mail after school. She had read multiple reviews on it and every one said this game was expected to be game of the year. Piper was thinking about how she would customize her character when the bell rang. Piper blinked a couple times, hardly believing class went by that quickly. She hoped every class would be that fast so she could get home that much sooner.

Justin smiled as he heard the bell ring. One class down. He grabbed his stuff and started off to his next class, math. He hated math with a passion, but he would bear it so he could get through the day and play his game.

Piper made a quick stop at her locker with Mimi before they walked into math together. The teacher looked up and gave Piper a sheet of instructions for the student she was currently tutoring on trigonometry. "Thanks," Piper said with a smile before taking her seat. Once again, class sped by quickly. In fact, the next few classes were over in no time at all. Piper practically jumped out of her seat when it was lunch. Thankfully, she was able to retrain herself. Piper met up with her cheer squad at lunch and they all sat around talking about the new routine. Piper half-paid attention, all the while thinking that after two more classes and cheer practice she would be home playing her new game.

Justin walked out of the class and went to lunch. Once again, the gamer sat alone. He didn't have many friends, but he was good with that. He pulled out his PSP and started playing. He needed something to do until he got home and played his game.

While eating lunch, Piper looked around the cafeteria and spotted a boy sitting by himself, playing his PSP. Piper frowned slightly. She was jealous. Shaking her head, she returned her attention back to her friends. The rest of the day flew past and before she knew it, Piper was running up the path to her front porch. "Did it come??" she asked, rushing into the living room. "It's on the kitchen counter," her older brother, Scott, replied. Piper squealed and grabbed the box before running upstairs to her room. Locking the door behind her, she changed out of her cheer uniform into grey sweatpants and a blue Atari t-shirt. She then tied up her hair in a ponytail and slipped on her glasses before taking a seat in her bean bag chair in front of her 40" flat-screen.

Justin bolted in through the door of his house, running like a madman to his room. He slipped the game into the PS3, grabbed his controller, and put on a ridiculous russian fur hat he got from eBay. Why? because it was fluffy, and it gave him good luck! As the game came on, Justin selected "load game", entering the virtual world as his character, Kaidan, a dual sword weilding warrior with short, spiky, neon green hair and ocean blue eyes. The character wore very little armor, mostly a light leather outfit, like the ancient Celts wore. He had some metal armor on his arms and legs, but he was still able to move pretty fast. His arms and chest bore odd blue tribal tattoos, and he had two wicked looking katana like swords on his back. Justin made his character walked the virtual streets of the town he was in until he left for the wide open world, eager to fight monsters.

When the customization screen popped up, Piper immediately got to work. She created a drow rogue with violet eyes and long white hair pulled back in a braid. She sat for a moment, debating whether or not she wanted her character to have any tattoos. Deciding against it, Piper selected "next" and typed in her character's name: Solara. Piper tapped her foot as she waited for the next screen to load. I hate being a noob, she thought when she was automatically directed to the tutorial. Speeding through it with ease, her character came out with a simple leather jerkin, leggings, boots, and a crossbow. "Not the best," Piper said, reading the stats for her equipment. "But it's a start."

Justin had his character move over to a group of Demon Snakes in an open field. The large serpents tried to strike Kaidan, but the warrior slashed the monsters to bits pretty quick. Justin had only played for a week, and he was at level 16. He looked around the field for any other players, particularly player killers, or PKs. They annoyed the crap out of him. And he thought trolls were annoying before they could kick your a**.

After receiving a quest from the village elder, Piper decided to do a bit of exploring rather than complete it just yet. Solara moved out of the safety of the village and drew her crossbow. She hurried past a couple players who were fighting each other and made her way into an open field. There she stumbled across a few Demon Snakes as well as another player with neon green hair. Level 16? Piper thought, reading the player's available stats. Please don't kill the noob! She kept her distance from the player and worked on attacking the closest Demon Snake.
