Occupation: Owns a small bar called Nomisuke in Shinjuku
Appearance:Short, black hair that is usually rather unkept. Dark brown eyes. Always has a bit of stuble going on. Just a bit shorter than average, with a well built but not overly muscular build.
Personality:
Jaded: Life sucks. That much Shin had learnt over the years. Even if you try your best, something is going to go wrong. Shin is no longer surprised or dismayed when bad things happen to him; he’s come to accept that as a fact of life and can’t even dredge up the required energy to be sad about it. Most of the time Shin can’t even be bothered feeling anything anymore and goes about his day, minding his own business and making sure people keep out of his.
Argumentative: If there’s one thing Shin likes to do; it’s argue with you. It’s not that he really cares about one particular topic or another; he’s just amused when people argue back. He likes to press peoples buttons just for the hell of it, and will usually offer you a drink afterwards to make up for it.
Blunt: Yes, your butt does look big in that. Shin is not going to sugar coat it for you. If your feelings get hurt, well... bad luck. He figures it's better for you to know the truth now then to go on living a lie. He will always speak his mind, whether you want to hear it or not.
Helpful: Shin does care. It often seems like he doesn't, but he's busy hiding it under a facade of bitterness and hurt feelings. But he will stop to help the dog that's just been hit by a car and he will offer his seat on the bus to the pregnant lady. If you turn up on his doorstep wet and lost, Shin will grumble but he'll give you clean clothes and a bed to sleep in for the night.
Dependable: If there's one guy you want on your side, it's Shin. If he makes a promise, he will not break it. If you need him, he’ll be there. You can call him at four in the morning and he’ll still be willing to lend you a hand. Shin is always reliable. He knows what’s like to be let down by others and if he thinks he’s can’t do something, he tells you straight up. If he says he can, he will… no two questions about it.

History and Purpose for a pet :
Jeong Shin was born in South Korea in a particularly ordinary family. There was his father; an often gruff, but kind older man who lived for his job as a doctor. And there was his mother; a soft-spoken, gentle woman who had married her husband when she was only eighteen. When Shin was five, his family moved to Minato, Japan for his father’s job. Despite being Korean, Shin considers himself Japanese and speaks it much more fluidly than his own tongue.
As a whole, his childhood was mostly unremarkable (except for that one visit to Egypt were he fell of a camel) and he grew up with good but not brilliant grades, had three good friends and only got drunk once. The expectation of his family was that he would take up medicine and Shin did that too; taking to his studies with dedication, if not enthusiasm. Everything was how it should be.
Then Shin fell in love with a man. Within three years his life fell apart. His relationship with his father’s colleague was a source of quiet, seething anger and disapproval from his parents. Their son couldn’t be gay. What about grandchildren? What about heaven? Shin decided he didn’t care what they thought. He continued his studies and moved in with his much older partner; cutting off all contact with his family in an act of defiance.
The relationship did not last long. It survived for only a year before Jeong Shin realized it was going nowhere. The ‘love of his life’ was controlling and often times cruel. Shin packed his bags and left, but he was no longer welcome in his parent’s home. He moved in with a friend within the next year dropped out of his university studies. Being a doctor suddenly seemed like the last thing he ever wanted to do. Depressed and disheartened, he found a low-paying job close to his friend’s apartment. The third year was the worst and Shin’s entire world was torn apart by the sudden death of his mother.
Shin was in his early twenties and yet suddenly it seemed as if his whole life was over. His mother’s death did not help him reconcile with is father; it drove them further apart and so he left Minato. Taking up odd jobs, mostly as a kitchen hand in various restaurants, he managed to survive. Life slowly began to level itself out and his depression eased, but he had been left with a bitter outlook on life. He had been burnt and Shin did not intend on letting it happen again.
As the years past by, Shin managed to make enough money to buy a small business; a bar. He might not be the most sympathetic ear, but he has a dedicated little client base that come in to drink away their woes. Life really isn’t all that bad for Jeong Shin and it had been a long time since the turmoil of his younger years. But there is something broken inside that needs a little help before it heals…
