The Eternal Senshi of Danger was feeling pent up. The strange thing was, his usual method for venting this kind of frustration was actually the source of it. Recently, he had seen a few of his friends going to hospital because of battles. He had carried two people there, one from a youma attack, another from one of those dark senshi.
It hadn't been fun.
Chaonis was in need of something else, then. He did not want to go out on patrol and find another damn fight, another damn friend in trouble, more caring and feelings he didn't know what to do with. Maybe he was avoiding it all, though he knew he couldn't. Who cared? Everyone needed a day off now and then, and he was taking the night.
So he had powered up, but decided to abandon his patrol. Instead, he found himself at the community center, where he had been forced to practice piano with one of his good friends. He broke into the building, locked up tight for the night, and moved into one of the music rooms. They were sound proof, but he left the door open.
That defeated the point.
Sitting at the piano, the Eternal senshi ran his fingers over the keys, finding his start and beginning to play. He wasn't much for classical music, but he had been practicing whatever pieces he could find, which included some older stuff and even stuff from musicals. This one, for example, was an adaptation of a song from a musical about a witch. From what he gathered, it was about two people who weren't supposed to be together that had fallen in love and were having an affair.
He didn't care about the details, though, just playing the music.

Exploration of the area around her new home had yielded varying results. Some promising, some not so much, but the best thing she'd stumbled upon thus far had to be the old community center. The building itself was pretty old, and the architecture was pretty to look at, but the inside was well kept, and if not modern, then certainly clean and well cared for. She'd been their during the day, but there had been far too many people there to really enjoy herself.
Quinn was a sleep, and Navi hadn't wanted to disturb the girl with her playing. That's what brought her back the following night, sheer swaths of her fuku fluttering in the gentle breeze that blew along the roof tops but never quite reached the ground. She was crouched along the edge of the roof, waiting and listening for any sound that might indicate another person being around. Aside from the traffic below she couldn't hear a thing, so very carefully she popped the clasp on one of the skylight windows, and let herself in. Sharp heels making a soft clack when she get the linoleum beneath.
There were music rooms a couple floors down, and Navi moved swiftly along the halls towards the stairs, as stealthy as she could manage. It wasn't until she'd left the stair well and started down the hall that she heard the music. A piano, soft as first, but growing louder with each stroke of key as if the person playing was falling into a grove.
For a second or two she debated making a run for it, afraid whomever it was worked there and might call the authorities, but she recognized the music, and that drew her closer. It was Wicked. A song from one of the musicals she collected music from. One of her favorite songs from that particular Broadway, in fact.
Cautiously she peeked around the doorway, then clasped a hand around her mouth when she realized who it was perched at the piano. White moon senshi, and not just any if those wings were any indicator. Again the urge to flee sprang up, and she even took a few rapid steps down the hall before slowing to a stop, catching her lower lip between her teeth to chew thoughtfully at it.
He was playing, maybe he was more a pacifist then some? She could hope..
Warily she returned to the door, peeking around once again to watch the his back as he played. Then, spotting a cello propped against a chair just within the room she made up her mind. It was completely on a whim, and a very foolish whim at that, but she stepped into the room, still carefully quiet, and took a seat, positioning the cello between her knees and taking up the bow. Dainty fingertips poised over the strings as she readied the bow. There wasn't much a string section to this song, but Navi could improvise, she was good at it.
With a soft hum of the vocal chorus she pressed down on the strings and drew the bow along in time. Making the cello sing along to where voices should be, but weren't, though she was terribly tempted to chime up.

Chaonis felt the energy of an agent of chaos in the room, though he didn't look up right away. He was busy, and since he hadn't been attacked yet, it meant someone was either waiting to hit him with something strong, some attack or something, or they weren't looking for a fight right away. He tensed either way, though, as he would not let them get the drop on him.
Even as he continued playing.
When he heard the sound of the cello joining him he arched his eyebrow, watching his fingers as they moved over the keys, wondering just what kind of a dark senshi this was, playing along to a broadway musical. Like he had room to judge, since he had been playing it first, but he had the excuse that he hadn't picked the song for any particular reason, and hadn't known what it was about or what it was from.
So that clearly made it, and him by extension, not lame for him to be playing.
Still, he didn't stop, and he didn't mess up, paying even more attention to what he was doing so he didn't mess it up, in fact. He glanced over his shoulder when he was certain his fingers could find their way without him looking for a moment, seeing the girl sitting nearby.
"I always thought these rooms were private," he said, over their music, which actually sounded quite nice. Not that he would be paying her any compliments any time soon.

Where he was forced to watch his hands least he miss a note, she was free to let her finger wander. Years of practice had ingrained the cords within her mind, and she could find her way through melody with only periodic glances to be sure she stayed well within fingerboard. It allowed for her to watch the young man at the piano, and the barest flicker of a smile slide slow along her lips as his concentration increased upon her presence. Very interesting.
When he finally did glance up and towards her she met that gaze, head tilting gently to one side as she played. Ginger curls sliding in waves over a shoulder.
"And I assumed the building was closed after hours," she countered automatically, smile growing briefly as she watched him. They were both guilty of trespassing, so neither really had much of a leg to stand on. Still, that wouldn't keep Navi for teasing.
In time she would take to humming along to their playing, voice delicate and melodic, and it only served to add to the duet. A third tone to intermingle with ivories and strings. Though even relaxed as she seemed, she never took her eyes off him for more then the fraction of a second. There was no real peace between them, and should he tire of their playing and attack, she wouldn't be caught off guard.
"Dare I inquire as to your reasons for being here?" It wasn't her business, and she knew that, but curiosity insisted she ask. Perhaps he'd even answer her.

"I'm playing the piano," he said blandly, as if that were the most obvious thing in the world. And the only reason he could possibly be there. It wasn't like he didn't have a piano at home or anything, as he did have one. His father had gotten him one, used but still good in its own right, to practice on.
He carved inappropriate and rude things on it, shot it with his paintball guns a few times, and rarely used it for actual music.
She seemed safe from him getting up to punch her, though, as he continued to play. It seemed she had at least until the end of the song before he made any sort of move against her. Maybe he liked the sound of it, and it was making him sentimental in brief, not wanting to ruin the moment before the music had faded from the room. That, or he was just being lazy and only focusing on one thing at a time.
No rush, if he was there at the end of the song she would be too.

Pale flesh along the bridge of the girls nose pinched at his answer, hazel eyes rolling as she continued to play. Obviously he was playing, that hadn't been what she was asking, though she was fairly certain he knew that. Which would make him quite the smart a**. "Clearly," she countered calmly.
Neither seemed willing to cease playing, so they seemed to have something of a strained and temporary truce, 'least til the music ended.
"More curious really on why," she mused allowed, glancing down at her fingers as the song changed tempo and pitch. "And why here, specifically. After hours." She wouldn't leave him much wiggle room with his answers this time around, but of course, she still couldn't force him to respond.
He at least was probably safe from her, unless he did something unfortunate. And even then, he was an eternal senshi, that most certainly out ranked her. She wasn't looking for a fight though, despite any long lingering bitterness she may have had for the soldiers of the white moon court. Her own petty grievances were trivial in comparison to her court and it's continued growth and flourish. There would be no hesitation to defend herself, but she wouldn't be the one to draw the first blood.
Her humming continued while she waited for him to answer, if he even would.

The Senshi of Danger watched her for a moment, then returned his attention to the song. They were nearing the end, and he wasn't that familiar with this part, but he could remember the notes. It was easier, in an odd way, playing along with her cello and humming. Maybe she was just supplying him the notes he needed, and aiding in his recall. He doubted it was anything of deeper meaning than that.
Chaonis didn't do deeper meaning.
"Because I could. Don't you do things just because you can?" He grunted his answer, shaking his head as if he were annoyed that he had to explain himself. Not because he had a secret to keep, but like she was supposed to already know.
"Or maybe you don't know anything about that. You're one of those brainwashed dopes, right? Well, doing things because you can offers you some freedom, some strength. Makes things fun. You know, dangerous." He grinned at his private joke.
Chaonis was not nice on the best of days, but even less so when he knew he didn't have to be. A dark senshi? No. He didn't have to be nice to her in any way. Hell, just not punching her on sight had been a very nice thing for him to do. He had reached his limit.

The faintest of laughs followed Chaonis' retort, more an addition to her humming then any notable sign of humor. Hazel eyes rolling up to watch him as he returned his attention to his fingers and the bi-colored keys beneath them. Ginger lashes veiling her eyes in a demure, thoughtful way. It didn't quite match the pleased little smile that had slid over glossed lips, but the effect was pretty enough.
"Oh, I do." More so now then before, but he didn't need to know that. Her sudden lack of parental guidance had not escaped her notice, and she had of course been testing her limits. Or lack there of. "I think my very presence is proof of that." She was there on a whim, just as he was, for no better reason then that she could.
That so soft laugh sounded again at his question, and she gave a very tiny shake of her head, soft curls slipping forward from behind her shoulder. "Brainwashed? No, I think not." The flesh along the bridge of her nose gave a slight pinch in distaste, but her tone was still pleasantly level. She couldn't speak for the whole of her court, but Navi knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was still in her own mind. It hadn't been the influence of Ares and her mirror that'd turned the dark senshi to chaos.
Unaware of his sphere, his joke was sadly lost on Navi, though she did offer an agreeable smile in response to his explanation. It was true, there was freedom in following one's flighty whims.
The song was drawing to a close, and Navi's attention returned to the nimble press of her fingers along the strings as she played. Finales were meant to be powerful, and she would certainly give the song it's due. That didn't mean she didn't keep an ear trained on the melodic strike of the keyboard, listening not only to the notes he was playing, but for any absence. She refused to be caught unaware should he tire of talking and come at her with violence.

As the song ended Chaonis found himself wrapped up in it, more so than he thought he would. Or would admit to. He watched the keys but wasn't doing so in his usual way, not trying to pick out the right ones, his eyes glazing over and growing distant as he turned his attention to his ears. He listened to the last of the song, pulling his hands away as the last notes faded.
He turned in the seat after a moment, looking at the dark senshi full on now. He took in her black and orange get up, the color of her hair and the expression on her face as she held on to the cello.
He folded his arms over his plastic armor padded chest, leaning back against the keys with a silence shattering, ugly note.
"So you just come around looking to play music with white senshi, that doesn't sound like a very safe thing to do, but I can get behind that. The name is Chaonis. Senshi of Danger." He grinned at her, cocky as always. And why shouldn't he be? He knew he was handsome and awesome, in almost complete control of his powers (except the parts he couldn't control), and an Eternal senshi to boot.
He didn't know how to be scared or intimidated. Or at least, he told himself he didn't need to. In his own way, he was dancing through life, though he didn't know the musical they had just played from well enough to get the reference or even the idea.

The song had ended, and both senshi remained in their seats. So far, so good. So their conversation would continue, at least for now. She would remain peaceful so long as he didn't try bring violent down upon her.
She was watching him just as intently as he was her, pale eyes sweeping up the glossy contours of the protective armor that covered his upper body. Linger curiously before coming to rest on that handsome face. He had pretty eyes. A shade darker then her own, and not quite as green, but still rather pretty, and intense. The corners of her lips twitched upward, almost a grin.
The sudden barrage of off key notes was loud, but she'd seen it coming, so her only reaction was a soft hum of amusement as she moved the cello from between her knees to rest it against the chair beside her. She kept the bow, toying absently with the carved length and taunt hairs.
"Not usually," she admitted softly. "I didn't know anyone else would be here. It was surprising really, but once I heard the song I couldn't just leave." The tip of one nail trailed up and down the bow as they spoke. "Chaonis of Danger?" Her grin widened, and finally she got his joke from before. "I'm Navi, Dark Mirror Senshi of Tumbleweeds." Was it wise throwing up the name of her court in her title? Perhaps not, but it was proper. Navi wasn't ashamed of it.
"Do you know the musical?" She tipped the end of the bow at the sheet music still resting on the piano.

"Do I look like a musical guy for you?" He grunted, then added quickly, before she got any smart ideas, "someone gave me the music and I was just playing that. Lemme guess, it's one of your favorites and it's totally fate that I was playing it, right?"
He watched her, debating his options.
He could attack her, easily, if he wanted to. And he did. He always wanted to fight, above any other option. He was not a sit around and talk guy, certainly, and he knew his enemies. The Negaverse, corrupted senshi, and now these Dark Mirror folks. Anyone or any thing with Chaos in it was something he wanted to punch.
No questions asked.
There was not much for him to need to understand. The lines between good and evil were clearly drawn. Even though he was not actually a good guy, he was still a good guy. He was still white moon, and he still protected those that needed it. Even if he did destroy everything around him while doing it, didn't go out of his way to stop people from being injured so long as they didn't die, and he maybe used his powers to fill out his own wallet or video game supply. He was still fighting the good fight.
And they weren't.
He stood up, cracking his knuckles far from innocuously. "Tumbleweeds, huh? Scary."

Just as he'd expected, the girl opened her mouth to respond with something cheeky and sarcastic, but let pink lips fall closed once again as he pressed on to explain the choice of music then question her in turn. She smirked, curling her fingers loosely around the subtly curved arch of the bow. "Not quite." The hairs of the bow bounced off her thigh as she tapped it there. "It is one of my favorites, but I'm not so foolish to as to put much stock in things like fate."
He stood, and her mindless toying with the bow ceased immediately so she could set it down on the chair beside her. She didn't like the sound of those cracking knuckles, but the only expression she allowed to grace pretty features was benign curiosity. If he was hoping to intimidate her with that little threatening display, she simply wasn't going to give him the satisfaction, least not yet. He was quite a bit bigger then her, not to mention an eternal scout, she had little doubts that he could, and would, hurt her.
Carefully she stood, one pale hand smoothing along the dark folds that covered her thighs. Her posture was relatively none threatening, but there was a tension about her that frame that suggested alertness.
"Down right bone chilling, I know." Hers was not a sphere that would strike fear in the hearts of her enemies, she was well aware of that. Though despite the innocence, she actual attacks were promising. Not that she was planning on attacking him.
"Is this the part where things get physical?" The grin that followed that question was down right wicked, tone implying innuendo. Surely there was no harm in a little well-natured flirting.

Chaonis grinned and nodded his head. At least they were on the same page. Different books, as it were, but still. If she had said she was totally into the fate thing, he might have punched her right then. He wasn't much for stuff like that.
No surprise there. He wasn't much for most stuff.
When she stood, his eyes were on her like a hawk. He stared at her keenly, grinning ear to ear. It was a wicked expression in itself, fittingly so, maybe. He had a habit of wearing his thoughts on his face, and at the moment he was wondering what kind of a match she would be for him. Or rather, how much of a fight she would put up before he won.
Chaonis always went into a fight assuming he would win. Saved time, no surprises. He was nothing if not confident in his abilities and his strength, even when he was sorely outmatched. He hated losing anything, and bore each one as an embarrassment for as long as it took for him to forget it completely and pretend it never happened.
"Do you want to get physical? You could at least take me to dinner first." Definitely on the same page, he thought again.

He was trouble, she could tell as much by that dangerous grin, but despite the threat she couldn't help but smile back, one pale hand falling back to rest lightly on the back of the chair she'd just vacated as she stepped back and to the side of it. Wisely getting away from anything that might trip her up should she have to make a rapid move to avoid a sudden flying fist.
So far no such thing had happened, and she was hoping to keep it like that. If witty banter and innuendo kept him interested enough to keep talking, then she would gladly deliver.
"You didn't seem the sort that would be interested in wining and dining," she offered casually, chin dipping as her grin widened.
He was definitely dangerous, but in similar way as a tiger. You knew they'd happily take your arm off if you tried to touch them, but you reach out anyways in hopes of brushing your fingers along that soft fur before the animal moved to strike. All temptation and the promise of violence.
Navi hadn't been in enough fights to build the sort of confidence as Chaonis, though as of yet she'd not been defeated by anyone. Her experience in battle was woefully lacking though.
"And really that depends on just what you were after." She had to keep him talking, or at least interested enough not to rush her.

The Senshi of Danger watched her, grinning at her.
"What can I say? I'm an old fashioned kind of guy," if old fashioned meant he liked people buying him food and not paying for it himself. Which wasn't exactly how a date was supposed to go. The guys weren't supposed to be the ones to get the free meals, but Nate was hardly one for benevolence and generosity. Or courtesy.
Or dating.
He took a step closer, then another, watching her with his predatory dark eyes. Though they were making jokes and innuendos, his look was anything but sexual. He was a fighter, through and through, and he knew his enemies on sight. Or rather, on feel, by their auras. The chaos he felt here meant only one thing to him, and he hadn't learned any differently. Not yet. He had no reason to believe there was anything else.
She was his enemy, and that meant she was a possible fight. And he liked her for that, but only because he could get to beat her up. He grinned at her again.
"I think it's pretty clear what I'm after, isn't it?"
