Halloween Spirit. One of the bigger halloween stores that popped up this time of year, and in Ian's personal opinion, one of the best. It had a little bit of everything, and was decently priced at that. Plus they were even having a sale, half off of any costume. That was always important for a student on a budget, even if he wasn't currently one. Between all the allowances from the time he was missing, and what he had already had saved up, Ian was more than allowed to waste a little bit of money on this.
And he was.
He moved away from the decorations, the cart filled with a few fake tombstones, and a green zombie baby, and headed over towards the makeup. He was hoping to find a zombie makeup kit over there, but if not, he would just pick up a few of the tubes. He knew how to improvise, and if he couldn't, there was always the internet. People loved to post up tutorials, and Ian was sure that he could find one to show him how to turn himself into an awesome looking monster.

Fritz felt as if it had been an absurdly long time since he had done anything purely normal.
Since returning back home on Earth and back into his apartment, Fritz had been moving a mile a minute as he attempted to get himself situated once more at school (he'd had to transfer to Horizon Academy after DCU had booted him), work (he'd lost his job anyway), within his family (Tolliver had been forgiving; his parents in London? Not so much.), and learning about his duties as a Page of Chronos (Virgo's training was harder than he'd thought). Everything had seemed to crash together all at once, and he had not yet found time to just breathe.
Which was why, early on a Saturday morning before Halloween, Fritz decided to spend his day doing nothing but wandering aimlessly around the Destiny City Mall.
It had been a long time since he'd been here; normally it might have seemed unusual for someone his age - and gender - to simply be meandering casually around a mall of all places, but Fritz found it quite appealing in the artistic sense. More often than not he sat at the fountain in the middle of the food court, sketching the various passersby.
On this particular day, however, he was in want of a Halloween costume - and a good one at that. Nothing on the wracks seemed appealing, however, and Fritz felt a small frown tugging at the corners of his lips as he browsed the various racks.
"Nope, nope, maybe - definitely not, nope - ouch!"
He'd accidentally run into someone. Taking a hasty step back, Fritz said "Sorry about that, mate I - Ian?"
It was the one he'd met while on the Surrounding - the young man who he'd stuck with for most of their time on the Rainbow Road. A smile drew itself across Fritz's face.
"Ian!" he said again, in a bright, happy tone. "Long time no see, mate! How've you been? I'm so glad to see you're all right!"

Perhaps if Ian had been paying attention, he could have moved out of Fritz's way, but since he hadn't, the older teen ran into him.
"Fritz!" Wasn't he just a sight for sore eyes. "I'm so glad to see that you made it back too." Admittedly, the rumors said that everyone had returned, that all the missing civilians had been made it back safely, but Ian hadn't trusted the rumors. They could have just been saying that to reassure the mundanes.
"I've been alright. Adjusting. It's amazing how different the respect I get wearing this uniform compared to when I went to Hillsworth." He chuckled. "What about you?"

Fritz smiled widely. He had not seen Ian since that time on the Rainbow Road; he'd lost the other in the shuffle from outpost to outpost, and since his Awakening he'd been so busy he hadn't had time to find each civilian he'd met and check to make sure they were all right.
Not that that meant he hadn't actually tried; Fritz still felt quite useless, however.
"Really?" he asked, brows raising in surprise. "I had to explain that while I go to HITS, I am, in fact, not a hitman. Though I do prefer this school to DCU, since they kicked me out."
He shrugged, then laughed, pushing his hands into his pockets. "Care to find a bite to eat?" he asked with a smile. "I find I'm rather ravenous."
