It sounds like you got them down since you passed, just remember every little detail counts, even the slightist mis-writing makes Japanese people go "HUH!?" and it's pretty embarrasing (speaking from experience redface ).

I made myself a notebook with each hiragana symbol. I have three colums:
Sound | Symbol | Remember it
In the Sound column, I write the sound it makes. In the Symbol column, I write how to write it. In the Remember it column, I write how to... well... remember it xD;
Use as many inside jokes and puns as you can.
For example, 'ni' and 'ta' both have two lines coming out that look like speech or wind lines in cartoons.
For the Remember It of 'ni' and 'ta', since my name is 'NInon' and I'm very loud, I wrote something like this:
NInon speaks loud like NI.
Ninon TAlks loudly.

Just find things like that. Write your favourite anime character's name, or your own. Find out how to write your friends. It helped me (I wrote 'Kisame' a lot xD)

Look for Remembering the Kana by James W. Heisig. I remembered just about every single one in three hours. I also have a manga book in Japanese so that was another thing that helped.
