Ai was definitely feeling the aches from the battle earlier today. She had a sore neck, sore side, and sore head. On her open wounds, the goopy liquid was placed again, and she could feel slight tingles from where a few antibiotic injections were given to her right after the fight. There went humans trying to play god again.

She didn’t know how her opponent was (she one day needed to catch his name), but she could only assume he was worse off. After all, the humans took him away on a stretcher, and that never was a good sign.

Darkness had once again settled over the island. It was the best time of day in Ai’s opinion. Her stall was left unlock, for the humans believed her to be too weak to actually sneak out. Boy were they wrong. Inching slowly past the door, her gold eyes scanned the empty halls of the stables, continuing her way until she made it out in the open. She couldn’t go far…not tonight. She couldn’t risk getting caught and being in trouble.

She stayed near the stables, just close enough to see the flickering flame of the lamp outside. She just wanted to see the moon, and the nightly dances of the stars.

The moon's bright light brought Reisx into the compound with ease. Her eyes were attuned to this shade of the day, and she remembered how easy, or how easy it had become to pick out details and shapes after spending countless hours in the dark staring out at the moon behind paned glass windows while kept here. Tonight, though, she walked silently. She heard some Mokai barking in the distance, and tried best to keep away from that side, which, unfortunately, brought her close to where she remembered passing fighting stalls on the way to her own fights.

She remembered being taunted and snickered at by other Mokai.

Reisx moved quickly, eyes watching, it was nice to have those she could...talk to. However, they were inside the walls.

Now, which way would she be?

At the sounds of small footsteps, Ai’s head shot up. It was either a small child, or another mokai. Ai had hoped it was neither, and just her imagination playing sound tricks on her. Sadly it wasn’t, as the footsteps came closer. Rising to her feet, the female stumbled into the shadows. She would not risk getting into fights with another mokai, nor did she feel like being dragged back into her stall. Although, she could always look up with her giant puppy-dog like eyes that would make any human feel sorry for her.

Once concealed by the darkness of the side of the building, Ai’s golden eyes peered out. She waited for whoever was there to make an appearance, and soon they did.

It was Reisx!

Slowly stepping out of the shadows, the female spoke in hushed tones. “What are you doing here? And so close to the stalls.” She glanced around to make sure no human or elder were nearby.

Her ears flicked at the sudden voice, and silver eyes fell to Ai's golden and she immediately joined Ai in the shadows, pressing herself close to the ground, trying to blend in with her surroundings, almost even with Ai.

"Came to see you...see, how you were," it was obvious Reisx wasn't used to talking to other Mokai. Besides Cellen, she had trust issues. She never got to talk to Mokai, even during fights, and her master had kept her locked up away from voices, possible friends.

Reisx looked Ai over, quirked a brow.

Had she fought again, already?

"Are you sore?" Reisx asked, looking Ai over, looking at her paws. Reisx could remember the aching still.

A small smile appeared on the fighter mokai’s maw. “You’re so sweet.” She murmured, keeping a vigilant gaze around them. Hopefully no humans would come around, Ai couldn’t protect the feral if it came down to it.

“Just a little bit,” she spoke quietly. “But oh is it so worth it.” Golden eyes flickered to Reisx’s dark ones.

The striped female decided to elaborate to the other female.

“You see, there is this awful male fighter who thinks he is all that.” Ai still hadn’t gotten his name. “I met him once before the battle, and from the beginning I did not care for him. When he spoke of sharing a bed with him, my thoughts continued to turn off on him.” Ai explained. “But we were paired up this week in the compound. He got a nice puncture wound to his gut.” She said, proudly flipping her head up so her unicorn horn made a small glint in the moonlight.

“I never did manage to catch his name.”

Reisx didn't say anything to the sweet comment, she would have rather liked dedicated, loyal, but I guess she would have to accept that for now. She quirked a brow. Worth it? She listened, ears taking in every word, and all she could think back to was that male fighter she came across, dark brown and slate blue.

Her eyes grew wide at the bed comment.

"That arrogant-" before she spit another word out, her eyes narrowed, her jaw clenched.

"Did he happen to have a chain around his neck?" Reisx asked, the thick sense of hate pouring off her tongue as she spoke those words.

“Arrogant is right.” She stared right towards her, eyes in almost disbelief. “Yeah…” His collar was different from everyone else she had met. That chain she could never forget.

“How did you know?” Ai stayed silent for a moment.

“Wait. You’ve met him, haven’t you? Oh, isn’t he just awful?” It didn’t take much for Ai to like someone, but to become an enemy of hers was a tough thing to do. The cocky b*****d had managed to do it with just one meeting. Kudos to him.

"Met, yea, wish I hadn't," she said with a huff, her fur bristling. She watched Ai, listened, and smirked, "I'm glad you gave him a run for his money." She wanted Ai to do it again, in fact. She shuffled her paws, looked around to make sure no one was sneaking up on them, that no humans were close by, and more importantly, that the male fighter was no where to be seen.

"I got him in the face though, after grabbing his chain," Reisx said with a smirk, "nose punched him, square in between hte eyes," she said with a grin. "You should try it, give him a friendly reminder from me. He threatened me ya know, so I'll never forget his face, or forgive his words."

She wanted to do something, make a plan, but being feral, it put her at a disadvantage. At least Ai could do damage in the ring.

Ai could help but burst into laughter when Reisx mentioned that she had gotten him in the face. “Oh, why couldn’t we have seen each other before that fight? I would have loved to give him a little ‘hello’ present from you. Next time I see him around, I’ll make sure to give that to him. I’m sure he’d appreciate it.” She snickered, but instantly frowned again when she mentioned about the threat.

“What did he say?” Her eyebrows quirked, as her fur began to bristle. “Something tells me I should have castrated the male when I had the change. Maybe next time in the compound he’ll lose something more than just his dignity.” Her tone was serious, and held no jokes about it.

“He’ll pay for every word that comes out of his mouth.”

Reisx quite liked Ai, there was such a fire in her, and it only grew more vibrant when Reisx spent more time around her. It made her wonder if Ai would always remain here, or i, perhaps someday, Ai would come outside the walls, that way Reisx wouldn't have to sneak back in to see her.

Fleeting thoughts, she noted, there was too much time for those.

"He said he'd call them," she said sternly, "the humans, let them know I was here, and help them...make me come back, make me go back to him," she said referring to her old master.

Reisx had since last seeing Ai, mad a plan to get over the past, but, she needed to wait until the next full moon's rise.

The fighter's threat, however, made her wary.

"I want to leave the past behind me, but I can't do it easily if he gets in the way, and I won't let that male continue to talk to me like that again," she'd fight him, if she had to. She looked to Ai, eyes narrowed, "he shouldn't speak to you that way either..." she wanted to make him pay.

If Ai continued to hang out with Erebus, she would probably end up breaking the rules and leaving the walls more and more. Or, if she could gain the trust of her master, then she’d be allowed to hunt, and see others outside the walls then. She just would have to be careful if that was the case. If there was one thing JB despised was the feral colony that hung around outside the walls. He’d catch every one of them if he could, and used Ai to do it. Being who she was, she would have to obey him. She couldn’t betray her human, even if he would potentially betray her sometimes.

Ai shook her head. “If there is anything I have learned about the damn mokai, is he is all talk and no action.” She hoped her words would be a little settling towards the other. “I wouldn’t let him do that.” But she couldn’t promise it for sure. If it was just her put aside other humans, she’d do her best to protect Reisx. But if JB was with that group…she just…couldn’t…

“He should be around for a while with the injuries he’s got.” She watched her, eyes flickering occasionally around them. “He needs his mouth sewn shut. Or better yet, torn off in the arena.” She hated every word that fighter spoke of. “He shouldn’t speak to anyone like that…One day though, he will get what is coming to him.”

Reisx gave Ai a smile, sincere and genuine. She wanted to feel a complete trust with Ai, but, Ai had a collar, and thus, a master. He treated her well, but still, he was a master, and she had to obey. BUt her words, they helped, and her fur settled at ease, her hackles no longer raised at the thought of that male.

"I'd hope, it would never come to that, the humans, me, Mokai here...you," she let her eyes drift off to look at the lamp lights, the sky and stars that seemed to flicker like the candlelight in windows.

"I hope you got him real good, and do it again, for me," Reisx stood, knowing that soon, perhaps Ai's owner would wonder what was going on, perhaps someone might hear. BUt this fighter, Ai, it made her think.

Cellen had helped train her...

She could help with what she knew...what she had been taught by the others...

No, Cellen first.

"I should bring Cellen back, have him meet the male, bring him t see you," Reisx would like that, sort of like a friendly meeting...but secretive.

"I should go," she said standing, feeling the wind brush against her fur. "If you do try the nose punch, keep your jaw clenched, and the muscles, here," she said leaning forward, raising a aw to touch the side of Ai's face, "here, clenched, it will give it more power." She pulled away a bit, and offered a smile.

"My master didn't teach me much, but some others, the did," she wondered if they were still around. She hadn't caught their scents at all.

"I'll visit again soon, but be careful with him, okay? Want me to bring you back anything, fish, fruit, anything?"

“I promise you, I will make him pay next time for the words that he said to you. And I like to think of myself as someone who always keeps her promises.” She reached out to touch Reisx’s paw slightly. It was a reassuring gesture, Ai never liked to go back on her words.

Her tail began to wag a bit at the mention of Cellen. Her first battle opponent, her first mentor, and the first mokai she knew that would betray the humans’ world. Ai had heard people fussing about him going missing when he ran off, but other than angry yells and hostile actions, she knew no more. “I would like that.” In her heart, she still felt as if she betrayed the male just with her young attitude on fighting. She was learning, slowly, on the words that he spoke of to her their final meeting. It just took a bit longer to sink in then one would hope.

As she mentioned about having to go, Ai nodded. It probably was a good idea for her to go back to her stall top, before the night help had seen she was gone. At the touch to her face, golden eyes peered straight into Rei’s dark ones. “Jaws and muscles clenched,” she tested it out, to understand just exactly what she meant. “Got it.”

She nodded. “I guess sometimes you just have to learn things on your own, and lucky to have the help of others.” She was rather lucky herself. At least her master took the time to train her, and with the added help from Cellen it was proving awesome so far.

“Okay! I’ll try to come out here more, and will especially do so, when I know that b*****d is off bed rest.” She smirked, wanting to sink her teeth into his gut just thinking about it. “Thank you, but I’m good.” No need for Reisx to risk bringing her food.

“But…I’ll see you soon.” She watched as the darker female turn to flee, before making sure the course was clear back up to the stables. An interesting night had ensued in did.

"You'll do just fine," Reisx said with a nod.

As she pulled away from Ai, she felt her paw let go from where Ai's touched her own. It felt like a rubber band pulling, and when she was far enough away, the band breaking. But she knew, regardless of living beyond the walls, their was a bond forming here, whether or not Reisx could fully trust it now, she would give it everything she had.

She just needed to face him, her old master, and the rogue male fighter who was still unnamed.

"Give him my best, when you see him, I'll visit soon," she said with a wink, and she darted off into the shadows, paws light underfoot. She went for the hole in the chain link fence she had used to get in earlier, and caught a strange scent near the perimeter.

As she glanced back to make sure Ai was all right, her eyes looked to the forest ahead, though there was something that bothered her now, that scent...someone had been there.

Someone knew.
