(Note: backdated a bit)

For the first time, when Sailor Iris arrived on her home world of a distant past, she felt at ease. She wasn't quite certain for the exact reason why she felt at ease, but it was just a fact. She was there, she didn't have any worries to speak of. It was a good change.

Maybe it had something to do with that overwhelming memory from her previous visit that had given her some appreciation for what was there. She had remembered far more than just mere events. Feelings she never knew she could feel towards this place had affected her far more than she would ever know. Those feelings never left her, even after the memories had faded back to reality.

As if she was in a pile of black snow, the blonde laid back, spreading her arms out wide, and began to form a sand-angel in the desert. It was stupid, but in all honesty, she didn't even really have a reason to be in this place. She just felt like she needed to come back.

She had, and now she didn't know what to do with herself. If she was like other teenagers, she might have pulled off the lazy-nap activity. However, Ellie Spectre had stopped taking naps at 3 years of age. It wasn't like Sailor Iris was going to start taking it up as a hobby.

For a moment, she closed her eyes, letting the sun touch upon her skin and her fuku. Now that the senshi had a comparison as to what real heat was, the desert didn't feel nearly as bad as it did before.

When she opened her eyes, the world around her had darkened to what seemed like nightfall. The girl sat up, glancing around, but finding that the "camera's view" wasn't changing at all. This was distinctly a memory, but not one she'd be swallowed up by. It would allow her the chance to question things should she want to. With a slight sigh, she couldn't help but feel relieved.

About her was a small gathering of covered wagons. Most of the animals lingering by the wagons were the Sand Crunchers, but there was one stray Sand Muncher of a dark red-brown color. Even the present Sailor Iris knew that this clan was not the same one that Babba belonged to. That one had far more wagons and a more even mix of Crunchers to Munchers.

Eventually the view shifted to a man who seemed to be about 40-something, sitting immediately next to the girl. He had a well trimmed beard that almost seemed to hug to his chin and a rather large nose. His eyebrows were rather large and bushy, seeming to almost have more hair to them than the beard had. Upon his head he wore a cloth that loosely seemed to resemble some sort of turban with a couple golden wires seeming to hold it into place. The man held out a bowl made of a dark metal to her, which she seemed to take with a small nod of the head.

A small sip from the bowl would reveal it was merely water.

"I am surprised that Babba's clan was not there to greet you first, Sailor Iris," the man said in a pompous tone. "That means that this year the prosperity will be coming to my clan!" In a proud manner, he started to laugh, the noise seeming to bellow out from deep in his gut.

"You know as well as anybody else, that it is not how the ritual works," her past self pointed out before taking another sip from her borrowed cup.

The man was soon enough in her face, the bushy eyebrows practically tickling the tip of her nose. "I know that is not how it is supposed to work, but it IS how it always ends up! Babba's clan is the first to greet you after you have tended to your duties, and then for the rest of the year her clan is the one that thrives. All other clans end up picking up the scraps from hers." He huffed in, then finally pulled himself away.

"Kefod... I am not saying you work any less than Babba does. All of the clans work just as hard as the others. However, perhaps the prosperity of her clan has nothing to do with the fact she seeks me out after I have tended to my duties."

This was not a good enough answer. The man shook his head in spite, grumbling out "Of course you'd defend that clan. You have every reason to favor them."

Her past self sighed. "You know I function completely outside of the clan system now. Stop being so thick-skulled about the whole thing."

With that, she took a final sip from the cup before handing it back to the man. He took it from her hands and simple threw it back into the barrel he had, causing a slight splish-sound to exit from the container.

"It is not a secret, Kefod. You might be the Elder, but you need to grow up."

With that, the senshi nodded, then stood herself up. The modern day Iris followed suit, and as she was finally on her feet, the memory faded.

"...all of the names... so f*ckin' strange..." As if her need to be on the asteroid had been satisfied, her phone was tugged out, and once more, she disappeared. She might not have know about the dramas dealing with Kefod and Babba, but that was something to learn at another time.
