((A drawing board where I shall be working on my new RP plot (unrelated to the LH) and basically establishing setting, character and world information. Most of the material will probably take the form of an opening first post whenever this actually gets off the ground.)) "God who is eternally complete, who directs the stars, who is the master of fates, who elevates man from his lowliness to Himself, who speaks from the cosmos to every single human soul, is the most brilliant manifestation of the goal of human perfection." - Alfred Adler ~ 1870 - 1937 March 13th 2020 Skies above the North Pacific Ocean "Fusion drive safety checks complete, joint actuators functioning normally, no abnormalities in nerve superstructure detected, neural interface synchronization error ratio 6.76% and within acceptable limits" a Russian voice crackled over a speaker in a darkened cockpit, illuminated only by the glow and flicker of various monitors and illuminated dials, the cold metal panels reverberating with the low rumble of jet engines. A pair of cold eyes opened in the half-light, a pulse of light streaming out over a intricate web of grooves from the back of his pilots chair, as if in response. "We will be entering Australian airspace in one hours time, from there all carriers will proceed to drop points and immediately withdraw to point B6. Your top priority is location and capture of the target, after which you will secure a safe extraction point. Fight well comrades" There was a pause, and the voice became more stern "Iosef, you will do good to remember the Union needs the target alive" There was an amused scoff as the pair of red eyes - almost seeming to take on an unearthly glow in the light of the instruments - turned towards the picture of a somewhat scruffy looking scientist taped to part of his dash board "Da, I understand, this one lives, but the rest..." a nasty grin split across the mans face "....Not so lucky" The convoy of massive stealth transports - red stars emblazoned on their sleek wing-tips - slowly broke cloud cover, settling into a direct course towards the faintly twinkling lights on the eastern Australian mainland on the horizon... ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The year 2012, humanity stood higher than it ever had before, both in intellect and technology, and heralded the next great technological leap for mankind. It was in this year that the International Institute for the Advancement of Medicine, citing the great progress in medical analysis capabilities, was instrumental in commissioning the Bureau of Neural Research and Testing, or the BNRT. A British based group dedicated to furthering understanding of how the human brain operates, and to developing advancements in medical science based on this research. 2014, American scientist John Lockhart pioneers the first working nuclear fusion reactor, winning several Nobel prizes and catapulting the world towards a whole new era. Like the invention of gunpowder to war or the first flying machine, this breakthrough would revolutionize modern technology. Seeing this, the US invests heavily in Fusion technology, ordering over 50,000 such reactors produced for commercial and export use. The massive income generated from nations purchasing this technology pulls the US out of the looming threat of recession and near critical debt and throws the USA's GDP into the 10s of trillions of dollars. Due to growing international pressures from Russia - apprehensive of the USA's newfound power - and failing economies, Ukraine, Lithuania, Estonia, and Kazakhstan reluctantly join with the Russian Federation for the first time in 23 years under the new leadership of the Communist Party of Russia, marking a pinnacle in Russia's slow slide back towards the left with the masses demands of a powerful Russia once again, forming the United Soviet State Coalition (USSC). 2015; the second great breakthrough of the century occurs. Professors William Seymour and Abel Sainz, leading minds of the BNRT, present the first complete neural map of the human brain and it's operations, to such a degree that they could demonstrate a basic mechanical device being operated only by thoughts in a subjects mind, without the need for motion of the body and direct nerve signals such as with cybernetics. This unparalleled understanding of the human mind gained much fame, but the project ultimately fell into relative obscurity under heavy investment in Fusion technology. Beyond simple tasks and furthering medical diagnosis, the budget to expand on such technology was simply not there. 2016; in a turn of events feared by the western world since the 1940s, the Republic of China enters a military alliance with the new Soviet Union, officially becoming a part of the USSC later that year, trade between China and the west slowly grinds to a halt, leaving many countries in a state of economical depression as inflation rates soar with the loss of access to the worlds largest and cheapest manufacturer. Under threat from both its borders, Mongolia is forced to resign independence to the USSC for fear of political and economic blockade by Russia and China. Using the widespread depression and fear of the "Neo Soviet Bloc". The USA, least affected by the depression, expresses outrage at the USSC's actions and under this reasoning, pressures Mexico and the majority of South America into an alliance against the perceived Communist threat, coming to be known as the Confederation of Free Americas (CFA). Great Britain, suffering under crushing recession as a result of the ongoing power struggle descends into a state of chaos and rioting, eventually coming to an end with the first time election of the British National Party to office, promising to restore Britain's pride, riches, and most importantly the grand empire that was stolen away from her. Britain begins rebuilding it's economy under the foundations of ultra-nationalism. Major industries are quickly nationalized, and thousands of private businesses and assets are ceased by the government. Under this new leadership, millions of pounds are put into the BNRT, and the British Institute of Robotics is quickly merged into the organization. The European Union responds by placing strict sanctions against the United Kingdom, in retaliation, the UK leaves the EU. The UK turns its attention towards strengthening ties with former British Commonwealth countries. 2017 brought the recovery of the British economy, highlighted by economic alliance with Australia and New Zealand, aided by a tightening grip on South Africa as a replacement for the cheap labor lost from the Chinese. This economic boost was aided even further by India, in exchange for the UK signing a guarantee of independence to buffer them from the looming threat of the USSC on their borders. On the other side of the world, Britain had also locked itself in a bitter conflict with the CFA of political hegemony over Canada, and outright demanded that their former territory of Iceland be returned to British governance. Vietnam and Uzbekistan join the USSC. Reacting to intelligence leaks from the UK, research begins on next generation "Direct Interface" weaponry. 2018... The event known in official records as the "Dublin Incident" shocked the world. High tensions between Southern Ireland and Britain escalated and eventually erupted when Southern forces opened fire on British patrol vessels in the Irish sea over a minor territorial dispute. This resulted in a very brief conflict between the two nations. Conflict, because the events were really too short to be called a war. The British first-strike was launched against the Irish capitol of Dublin, and when the dust settled, a massive humanoid monolith towered over the remains, and as the world looked on, history was made, and the face of war would change forever. After the loss of Dublin to Britain's fearsome new bipedal weapon, Southern Ireland immediately surrendered and was annexed into the UK, shortly followed by Iceland and South Africa. From that point, the United Kingdoms officially became the Greater British Empire (GBE), taking its place among the super-powers of the world once more, and would mark the start of a 2 year arms race. A month later Professor Abel Sainz was found dead, burned to death with the majority of his own research data, apparently committing suicide rather than watch his medical research being used for war. By 2019 other countries had hastily started to research and develop their own towering metal behemoths, or "Mechanized Fighting Vehicles" (MFVs) as they had been coined. The only issue however, was the pilots. Not just anyone could operate a neural interface for something as complex as a giant fighting robot, and so just as the countries rushed to build the machines, they also scoured their populations, searching for any who had the potential to pilot their war-machines, overnight they became a more valuable resource to their countries than any gold or oil. Military, civilian, woman, children, it didn't matter. As long as they had the right head on their shoulders they were quickly drafted, or in some cases, disposed of if they refused. Professor William Seymour, the only remaining original creator of the project, allegedly becoming paranoid for his safety, decided to flee the British mainland. His whereabouts are a mystery, but highly sought after. January 3rd 2020 The date, according to the mass media, that marked the official begining of World War 3. The USSC, without warning, crossed the border into North Korea, steam-rolling the Korean Republican Army under the weight of it's massive numbers. As a countermeasure, South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan hurriedly banded together under the banner of the Dai Nippon Protectorate (DNP) to discourage further pushes into Asia by the USSC. The USSC promptly returned this with an official declaration of war against the DNP. Only a few days later the CFA, following an emergency summit in Washington, officially declared themselves at war with the USSC in retaliation for what they classed as "Unwarranted aggressive actions". Seeing their chance, the Greater British Empire landed troops across the British Channel, making a sudden and unexpected push into French territory, catching central Europe completely unprepared. The CFA resigned their seat in NATO following this, backing out of a possible conflict with both the USSC and GBE at the same time. The USSC took the opposite approach , unleashing their armies across Poland to the west under the pretense of coming to the rescue of a Europe about to get swallowed up by the evils of imperialism. Though no official declaration has been made yet, it is widely assumed that the USSC and GBE are at hostilities. The present 2 months into the conflict, all sides have exhausted their various methods of intercontinental ballistic weaponry, the vast majority intercepted in orbit by the satellite weaponry of one or another of the belligerents, the capability to neutralize such weaponry long since passing the capabilities of the weapons themselves. The only costs from the Nuclear bombardment once feared before as mutually assured global destruction, were North Africa and the Malaysian/Indonesian islands, leaving the majority of the landscapes there a barren radioactive wasteland. France and what remains of the Southern areas of Africa have fallen under British Control. Latvia along with much of Poland and Romania has been forcefully occupied by Soviet forces from the USSC, as has Cuba and the Dominican Republic by the Americas, "in interest of homeland security". Any remnants of the nuclear strikes on North Africa have joined up with the Middle Eastern Emirates, who have done well to remain neutral thus far.

Fact File ((More world info than your body has room for)) MFV (Mechanized Fighting Vehicle) The next generation weapon system of the 21st century, taking the form of large bipedal "mech" robots, operated via direct neural interface with the mind of a compatible pilot. They utilize understanding of the manifestation of thought within the brain structure in order to enable the MFVs operating system to read and interpret the millions of electrical signals created in the brain as thought, and then translate that into digital signals for the machine. Extensive research with new Direct Interface control technology was performed at first on a smaller scale with the attempt to integrate the system with existing military vehicle and aircraft designs. Though met with limited success, the system proved incompatible with bases such as these. The sheer difference in the pattern of thought used for natural human movement, and those needed for something like a tank, created massive error ratios in the transmission of commands from the brain. Observing the previous successes the technology had demonstrated with the usage of implements such as robotic manipulator arms and exoskeletons in medicine and industry, the decision was made to create a weapon in a humanoid shape, something the human brain was naturally used to controlling. With the observation of dramatically increased performance with this framework, the MFV was born. With countries investing their very best military hardware into them, MFVs have proved in just a couple short years to be weapons capable of dominating the battlefield. Thanks to the neural interface removing the need for large crews, executional error, reaction gaps; and the frames allowing far more flexible mobility on the battlefield, MFVs completely outclass any other singular weapon system currently in existence. The downside is that MFVs are massively expensive to produce and maintain. Nearly all MFVs carry miniature nuclear fusion reactors in order to provide enough power for prolonged operation, and the complexity of the neural technology involved require a highly trained team to properly repair. It is an investment however, that most countries are willing to make for the massive military potential just a single MFV can give a country. Transient (Pilot) The name given to individuals who possess the extra-ordinary mental potential needed to effectively pilot an MFV. Though the BNRT and it's two patrons provided the greatest understanding and analysis of the human mind that was possible, the ability to change the mind is still beyond the realm of understanding. The mind of each and every person is subtly unique, no two people think in the exact same way, but after years of research a method was created to measure and categorize the rough mental potential of an individual. This was known as the Latent Transient Capacity score. It was found that those with a higher LTC score, were naturally better at operating neural interface technology. William Seymour once compared LTC scores to a measure of the "Genius factor" present in a person, though the exact factors that make a person a "genius" remain unknown to science. Others, working along less scientific lines, compared this LTC score to a measure of telepathic or psychic ability a person might have. Though just about anyone has the mental capability to operate a simple neural interface device with some success, it was soon found that something on the scale of an MFV was not nearly as easy to operate. To work an MFV to its full potential required an extremely large LTC score. With this, countries producing MFVs started to search their military and eventually civilian populous for those with extremely high LTC scores, for the "geniuses" among them. These pilots who were the elite, who carried the fickle X-factor of genius, would come to be known as "Transients", and become greatly valuable human assets to the country they belonged to. NATO Revised Military Threat Article 24 Simply referred to as Article 24, this official and once classified document was put together and maintained by NATO with cooperation from the international community during the arms race from 2018 to the start of 2020, and details a military threat ranking among the Transient/MFVs of the world. Countries regularly fought for and took pride in their own pilots gaining high rankings on the Article 24 list, particularly in the top 10, who were considered the elite among the elite. Factions Confederation of Free Americas (CFA) Includes the countries of North America, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Belize, Elsalvador, Nicaragua, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, Columbia, Venezuela, Guyana, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Chili, Bolivia, Paraguay, Argentina, and Uruguay. Formed at the suggestion of the USA as a Counter Initiative to the arising threat of the USSC. Currently the most economically powerful faction in the world, with the USA in possession of the majority of the worlds wealth. Though their currency value has suffered greatly, they remain a thriving consumerist utopia, even in the midst of world war 3, and show no signs of exhausting their resources any time in the near future. Civilians in these nations have tended to become somewhat complacent in the CFA's perceived superiority. Benefits: + Being the leading faction in the development of Nuclear Fusion technology, they have access to the most advanced Fusion reactors and related equipment. + Always being on the world level regarding the advancement of computing technology, the software and operating systems used in their MFVs is far ahead of most other competition + The leading economic force in the world, production and repair of MFVs takes far less toll on their economy as it would smaller nations. MFVs regularly have large backup crews, and even destroyed MFVs can be fixed back up fairly quickly. Weaknesses: - The CFA were the last major power to begin experimenting with neural interface weaponry, viewing it as a redundant waste of money until the effectiveness of MFVs in battle became frighteningly obvious. As such they are behind regarding the effectiveness of their MFVs neural technology. - Due to this, they also lack in Transients able to pilot their machines, only having started the hunt for them recently, under close scrutiny of the American public. Thus, for such a massive force, they have relatively few MFVs in their arsenal. United Soviet State Coalition (USSC) Includes the countries Russia/Soviet Union, China, Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, North Korea, Uzbekistan, Mongolia and territories in Poland and Romania. Answering demands for a revived, strong Russia and rising socialist sentiments, the Communist Party of Russia was elected into office in 2013 by popular demand and the Russian Federation officially became known once more as the Soviet Union later in 2014. Unwilling to risk another economic disaster from sudden economic change such as with the Yeltson administration, the new Soviet Union instead worked on gradually phasing out the free market as state control crept back into the Russian system. Noticing the economic crisis of it's neighboring former Soviet states, Russia began pressuring them into rejoining the Soviet Union, leaving them little choice after their previous rejection by international banks. The United Soviet State Coalition was thus formed out of this forced merger. To balance the newly formed CFA in the west, China initiated peace talks with the USSC, eventually resulting in the partnership of the two giants, and later the official merger into the USSC of China under the understanding of standing as an equal to Russia under the Coalition. From there the USSC has taken the route of aggressive expansion until the start of WWIII. Benefits: + The USSC contains the largest population among the superpowers by far, and the largest army by extension. They possess the highest amount of MFVs and Transients out of all the other powers. + Though mostly disregarded after the advent of nuclear fusion, the USSC, under mostly Russian backing, still has a very active nuclear fission and nuclear weaponry research program, rising to world leadership in this area. Rumor has it that some of their MFVs actually run on nuclear fission reactors rather that fusion. + The USSC is the leader in the world for thermobaric weapon technology, and employs such in many of their larger MFV weapons. Weaknesses: - Though the USSC has a good understanding on Neuro technology, the toll of cheaply produced parts and cost cutting leaves the hardware itself only second rate when compared to most other powers. - Unwilling to accept fusion technology for longer than most other countries, the USSC are behind in this area, and attempt to make up for the gap instead with their nuclear fission advances. Greater British Empire (GBE) Includes the countries of Great Britain, Ireland, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Nambia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Angolia, Madagascar, New Caledonia, has a political stranglehold on India, and has lodged territorial claims on Canada. The second coming of the British Empire, coming about with the rise of nationalism and the call for renewed pride in the United Kingdom after conflict between the USSC and CFA severely damaged much of the European economy. As a result the new British National Party ceased control of Britain's major services and industries and isolated Britain from the EU, labeling them as a leech to Britan's rightful wealth. After this, Britain worked to establish more subtle influence on countries still sympathetic to their stance, drawing Australia and New Zealand into an alliance and setting up a puppet government in South Africa. Their true rise to power came with the unveiling of the first MFV, Britain's secret weapon. In an instant the scales of power were tipped, and Britain used this to gain as much as possible while other nations ran around trying to create their own copies of this new weapon system. The GBE now holds influence over most of western Europe and the remains of Africa. Benefits: + Being the first to research and develop both Neural technology and the MFV, the GBE have the best Neural Interface technology. + Individual MFVs are very well made and quality is focused on over quantity, giving the GBE some of the most reliable and advanced MFVs + Imported technology from both the CFA and USSC make for access to a wide range of technology and weaponry Weaknesses: - Though the quality of the GBE's MFVs is great, the extra time and cost of these means the GBE has fewer in its army, with only a small lead on the rapidly catching up CFA - The loss of both their leading neurology researchers in recent years has made a dent in British advancement in the field, and they might not stay at the top of the MFV tech ladder unless they fill that gap. Middle Eastern Emirates Includes the countries of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qwait, Iran, Jordan, Yeman, Oman, and the remains of Egypt and Sudan. Originally an economic alliance for the regulation of oil prices, subject to petty squabbles. the Middle East have recently pulled together as a defensive measure against the forming aggressive super powers in the world. Though internal conflict is still common, most of the countries agree that their own security comes first, and their ideological conflicts can wait. After the first nuclear attacks of the war, devastating most of Africa, the Emirates agreed to take in surviving refugees from Egypt and Sudan fleeing the nuclear fallout. The Middle East professes neutrality in the war, and continue to trade with all sides. They are currently working to establish territorial claims over the nuclear wastelands of North Africa, though have run into some political opposition from the GBE and EU Benefits: + Trade with all the involved factions gives them access to the widest range of weaponry from all these factions + A surprisingly large amount of Transients exist within the Emirates, and as a result of this, the Middle East has the second highest number of MFVs in their arsenal Weaknesses: - Though they have a bit of everything, they don't have the best from any one faction, and still lack a lot of understanding on how to use the technology they buy from other nations - Maintenance of units is sub-par, and destroyed MFVs are often abandoned or pirated for parts rather than repaired - Internal conflict between member states make for poor strategic decision-making Dai Nippon Protectorate (DNP) Includes the countries of Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and are currently allied with the CFA A band of South Asian countries quickly put together to counter the USSC's push south with financial backing from the CFA, who entered the war shortly afterwards. Japan, with it's superior military and economic standing in relation to the other members, was voted as the leader of the alliance, and the remaining countries became circumstantial protectorate states of Japan. After an emergency NATO Summit, the decision to lift the Cold War restrictions placed upon the Japan's JSDF was passed at a vast majority. Currently the DNP is pooling it's armies on the Chinese USSC border and have seen several conflicts break out over the Korean border. Benefits: + As an island nation, sea-mobile units are very important to Japan, and as such, the DNP is the only faction so far that has MFVs capable of operating on and under water + Combining technical knowledge from Taiwan with their own, the DNP has the most advanced Computing systems in their MFVs out of any other faction + Rumor has in Japan is on the way to creating the worlds first atmospheric-functional laser weaponry Weaknesses: - The smallest faction in the conflict, the DNP has the least number of MFVs, due to shortage in available Transients to operate them. - Purely stylistic features often added to Japanese MFVs sometimes hinder practicality...(are all those drills really necessary?...)

Defeating a ranking NPC in combat will automatically give you their previous ranking, at your character's own risk of course) LTC Score notes Most normal people have an LTC score within the range of about 60-90. It was determined that an LTC score of at least 110 is required to operate an MFV. A higher LTC score does not automatically translate into being the best in combat, it represents how easily your character can use the MFV's neural interface to operate the machine. Though Transients with higher LTC scores have an easier time, making the machines move well is only a part of being an effective combat pilot.

NPC Profiles ((NPC pilots and otherwise that will be joining the players in the story, still mostly work in progress)) Character Name: Alexander Gallowgate Age: 26 Gender: Male Country of Origin: England Appearance: ((To be added later)) Personality: Very calm, collected and analytical, though often bordering on being cold. He is very committed to his religion of choice, Christianity, and if not for his mostly subdued disposition, would probably be considered a fanatic. Being considered one of the most elite Transients in the war, Alexander can tend to be quite arrogant, and often looks down on other Transients, or godless people in general, as inferior. Faction: GBE Occupation: Transient/British Army Major Brief History: A quiet but agreeable boy born in London, he joined the British Army at age 18, showing good dedication to training, and an aptitude for combat and tactical thinking. In 2017, following a huge score on his military LTC test, he was recruited for the new Neural Interface Weaponry program. Alexander was one of the first ever MFV pilots to emerge from the program, and during the Dublin Incident, it was Alexander who was seen in the MFV that would change the face of warfare. Now he acts as the ace of the GBE, feared as a nigh unbeatable opponent in combat by his enemies. Personal Strengths/Skills: + Alexander is quick, efficient, intelligent and almost perfect in his piloting skills. He is almost the ideal soldier. Personal Weaknesses: - Alexander's blind faith in his God can sometimes cloud his better judgments - This same faith can often lead him to become stubborn or bitter towards others without any other good reason. Notable Relationships: Always in the good graces of the GBE's political elite, he seems to have little patience for most other company, and though being a national hero to the United Kingdom, he seems to shun close relationships. Often seen accompanied by Mori La-Morte from the GBE's new French territories. - Section for those playing Transients - MFV Name: Zeruel MFV Appearance: ((To be added later)) MFV Weapons: Classified MFV Special Equipment: Classified Combat Specialties: Aerial combat LTC Score: 248 Article 24 Ranking: 2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character Name: Iosef Volkov Age: 38 Gender: Male Country of Origin: Soviet Union Appearance: ((To be added later)) Personality: Iosef lives for killing, he loves it. He embodies a certain, almost elegant cruelty in his demeanor which is framed by a rather unstable insane nature. Iosef carries an extremely intimidating air about him, ever confident and calculating and almost always sporting a cruel sneer. He's often sarcastic, uncaring and cheerfully morbid, placing little if any value on human life. He seems to get a high from the thrill of combat. Faction: USSC Occupation: Transient Brief History: Previously a soldier turned infamous career terrorist, Iosef is responsible for the deaths of millions of innocent people in Europe and overseas in various, seemingly indiscriminate raids and bombings. Eventually caught and incarcerated by Soviet authorities for execution, Iosef was perhaps saved by the advent of the MFV. Desperate for soldiers, the Soviet military combed not only their own ranks, but the ready supply of inmates in their prisons. Iosef, found to have a suitable LTC score, was given an offer. Serve the USSC armies, or get left to the firing squad. For Iosef, the choice was simple. Personal Strengths/Skills: + Iosef has many years of combat experience backing him up + Can be deceptively cunning. Personal Weaknesses: - Iosef may be quite smart when he needs to be, but he's not all that intelligent and often takes the most straightforward, rather than the best approach to solving his problems. - It's not uncommon for him to get distracted by his own bloodlust. Notable Relationships: Not many people are crazy enough to try and make friends with Iosef. Rumors are that something happened in the past between him and Aidan Kelly, the rank 10 Transient. - Section for those playing Transients - MFV Name: Ivan MFV Appearance: ((To be added later)) MFV Weapons: + Two back mounted artillery cannons, loaded with special Themobaric shells. + Torso mounted rocket pods. + Handheld large caliber machine gun. MFV Special Equipment: + Latest reactive armour plating. + Double jointed legs, offering greater recoil reduction. Combat Specialties: Artillery support roles, demolition, anything involving a lot of firepower and very little subtlety. LTC Score: 154 Article 24 Ranking: 3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Character Name: Karen Lockhart Age: 21 Gender: Female Country of Origin: United States Appearance: ((to be added later)) Personality: A little pushy and irritable at times, but well meaning. Karen is tomboyish and optimistic most of the time though can come off as hard to get along with due to the constant stress she deals with. Though some think of her as a little too headstrong, Karen has often demonstrated an innate ability to micro manage situations and see opportunities that few others do. She has a strong sense of right and wrong. Faction: CFA Occupation: Transient/Heir to corporate giant Brief History: The Daughter of John Lockhart, the genius scientist turned CEO who pioneered the invention of Nuclear Fusion technology. Despite becoming the heir to billions almost overnight from her fathers invention, Karen simply wasn't interested, preferring the simpler life she'd had before, as the sometimes rebellious tomboy daughter of the humble researcher. Perhaps in an attempt to spite her father, growing ever more protective as the days went by, Karen volunteered to join the armed forces after it was discovered she possessed a Transient Level LTC score. Though she has some issues with killing, she has grown to accept that as part of the job, and is now considered one of the CFA's most valuable Transients. Personal Strengths/Skills: + Has a great understanding of technology and how her machine operates + Can make quick, rational decisions easily on the battlefield Personal Weaknesses: - Recently promoted to a spot in the Article 24 list, she can become overconfident in her abilities and end up rushing into a situation without properly evaluating it. - Though a fast learner and adept Transient, Karen still lacks a lot of combat experience Notable Relationships: Karen tends to get along well with the majority of the other CFA Transients. Is related to John Lockhart, creator of the Nuclear Fusion reactor. - Section for those playing Transients - MFV Name: Sunshine MFV Appearance: ((to be added later)) MFV Weapons: + MFV scaled assault rifle with under slung grenade launcher + Folding combat blades concealed in the MFV's arms + Experimental particle emitter weaponry with various ports - capable of emitting powerful partacle blasts - at points around the MFV's frame MFV Special Equipment: + A larger and more powerful Fusion Reactor than any tried before on an MFV. Though bulky, it provides the massive power needed for the new particle emitter weaponry to function at effective levels. Combat Specialties: Mid-range versatile combat, untested in extreme environments however. LTC Score: 181 Article 24 Ranking: 5

Dai Nippon Protectorate (DNP)
Gaia Name: [Kold] Character Name: 無月 刃 (surname: Mugetsu, given name: Jin) Age: 28 Gender: Male Country of Origin: Japan Appearance: Unknown
Personality: honorable and courteous, yet mistrusting and secretive.
Jin is a mercenary comparable to a ronin of ancient Japan. He wanders the land and takes little interest in people's personal lives unless he has something to gain. He usually takes on jobs for funding, though is often extremely mistrusting; he always demands collateral before taking on any job for fear of being betrayed. In battle he tends to be honorable and likes a challenge. He seems to enjoy testing his skills against other transients.
Faction: Dai Nippon Protectorate
Occupation: mercenary, transient
Brief History:
Little is known about Jin Mugetsu except that he is a fugitive in the Dai Nippon Protectorate for various crimes including hacking into Japan's database and erasing all files relating to him, and most recently: stealing their prototype new model MFV: Ryojin.
He has eluded capture for nearly [insert later amount of time]. has been able to stay at large because of his exceptional combat skills. Many underestimate have underestimated him because his LTC score is 0, all of which are deceased. His previous bounty was ¥500,000,000 (about $6,591,089.84). Jin is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous. His bounty is still rising with each incident,
Personal Strengths/Skills: + experienced hacker + stealth + exceptional integration with his MFV / deynchronization is very low. + exceptional close combat skills + can use MFV under water + never lets his guard down
Personal Weaknesses: - mediocre ranged combat skills - fugitive in his home country, thus has to act alone - has a high bounty - national criminal
Notable Relationships: Hideko Terako? (pursuer, potential rival?)
MFV Name: 龍神 (Ryōjin)
MFV Appearance: (will add later)
MFV Weapons: * 月牙 (Getsuga) - a unique katana that is not hindered by anything except solid objects. It can be used through both air and water without any kind of speed decrease.

Gaia Name: Kyla_Ewens
Character Name: Alkaid (no recorded last name)
Age: 28
Gender: Female
Country of Origin: United States
Appearance: Alkaid is a little more than six feet tall with bright white hair. She has one very pale yellow eye and one cold grey eye. She wears a green blazer with the GBE insignia on it. Alkaid wears black pants and pointed boots with high heels. Also notable is that she wears a pair of green headphones (shaped like green chobits style ears) at all times. These play soft music constantly, which help Alkaid drown out having to sense the emotions of people around her. The music is just barely loud enough that she can hear it, but not so loud that it distracts her. Alkaid has been wearing them for so long that the music is simple background noise and she hardly notices it at this point. She also wears a pair of black gloves with excellent grips on them at all times. This is because if she touches another person bare handed, she will have an overwhelming blast of that person’s emotions which could render her unconscious, or potentially insane.
Personality: Alkaid has a very cold introverted personality due to her intense empathy. She has no problem killing opponents on the battlefield because her personality makes her very detached from others. She has no choice but to sense other peoples’ feelings, whether she wants to or not, and physical contact is downright dangerous. She is not really evil or villainous, but is often viewed as cold, sometimes even cruel because the emotions of others are of little importance to her…since she’s flooded with them constantly.
Faction: GBE
Occupation: Transient
Brief History: Alkaid’s early childhood was a happy and normal one. This changed around the age of 5 when she told her parents she had feelings that weren’t hers. This was Alkaid’s empathic ability beginning to awaken, but at 5 years old she was simply a confused child. She was prone to crying or fits of anger, insisting that she didn’t really feel those emotions. Her parents lost their patience with what they thought was their mentally unstable child, and confined Alkaid to a psychiatric ward, promising to come back for her once Alkaid turned 18.
While in the psychiatric ward, Alkaid fully realized her empathic ability. She could always sense the emotions of the people around her, unable to block the emotions out. Since she was surrounded by people who were truly mentally unstable, the shock and torture of being constantly assailed by so many turbulent and violent minds traumatized Alkaid to the point where her hair turned completely white. Over time, Alkaid grew used to her empathic ability, and after years of practice and determination, she was able to separate her own self and emotions from the constant storm of empathy. Once perfecting this, the emotions of others became like a constant white noise to Alkaid. She was unable to block them out, but she could ignore them enough to function and retain her own sanity. She also began wearing gloves constantly, because human contact would give Alkaid a massive rush of that person’s emotional state, sometimes to the point of blacking out for days.
On the day that Alkaid turned 18, she was legally able to check herself out of the ward, and her empathy was more a nuisance than a torture. To her horror, she discovered that her parents had completely abandoned her the moment they had dropped off, vanishing without a trace. Already hardened and introverted, this moment pushed Alkaid to an extreme where she even abandoned the notion of having a last name. Having a surname, an indication of the idea of family, was no longer something that appealed to her.
Until her mid-20s, Alkaid worked various jobs with no real purpose. At 25, Alkaid went to a mandatory LTC exam, and for the first time in her life, she knew what she wanted to do. Alkaid wanted to pilot an MFV. When she took the LTC she was thrilled as she scored in impressive score of 242. The testers were delighted with this number. However, while enrolling in the military Alkaid was forced to disclose the details of her empathic ability. Fearing that her empathy would distract her from battle, the CFA refused to allow her into the military.
Once again, Alkaid faced rejection and disappointment. After some research, Alkaid discovered that the GBE had the best Neural Interface technology and decided to take the LTC exam for them. While Alkaid’s natural ability to integrate with an MFV was not of great importance to the CFA, the GBE was delighted to possess a soldier like Alkaid, and enrolled her immediately.
Personal Strengths/Skills: Alkaid’s empathy allows her to sync with her MFV on an astounding level. She is a very disciplined person, since she had to teach herself how to filter out the empathy from her own thoughts and emotions. She’s calculating and not prone to distraction.
Personal Weaknesses: Major introvert. Alkaid often has trouble working with others, as she can sense their emotions and, when sensing doubt in a teammate, she immediately labels that person as “useless”. She has no patience for people and social situations. Her colleagues often view her as cold and cruel, since she kills opponents on the battlefield with seemingly little trouble. The truth is that Alkaid is so detached that dispatching an opponent is like simply removing one more emotional strain from her mind. Despite being so un-attached, Alkaid is still respected by many for her combat skill, and for the fact that she is a reliable and if nothing else, trustworthy teammate. Alkaid has no desire or reason to lie to anyone. In fact, she is usually far too honest and straightforward. While she keeps herself at a distance, this does not always prevent people from trying to get closer to her. The friendships are always one-sided however.
Notable Relationships: None currently. She is viewed by superiors as an excellent soldier because she executes missions efficiently and loyally, but she has no personal relationship with anyone at this time.
- Section for those playing Transients -
MFV Name: Tranquil Mantis
MFV Appearance: Very sleek and clearly built for speed and agility. Tranquil Mantis has a very humanoid form and it is mainly bright silver (almost white) and green. It usually appears fairly featureless, but rocket launchers can emerge from the shoulders, and Tranquil Mantis’s two bladed weapons are sheathed on its sides in compartments that collapse into the legs. In other words, with no weapons at the ready, Tranquil Mantis looks like a sleek weaponless humanoid. This takes opponents by surprise when they suddenly realize that Tranquil Mantis is a lot more threatening than it looks. The drawback to Tranquil Mantis is that defense has been sacrificed for agility and speed. It can’t take a lot of hits, but it’s very good at avoiding them.
MFV Weapons: Primary Weapons: Two identical silver and green blades that appear to be very long daggers. These weapons are amazingly powerful at close range, and can slice easily through tanks. When needed, the blades of each weapon can unfold into shields, good for quickly blocking enemy attacks. Having these weapons means that Alkaid can have either two blades, two shields, or a shield and sword in either hand whenever the situation calls for it. This makes her quite adaptable in a fight. Secondary Weapon: Tranquil Mantis has a pair of rocket launchers that emerge from the shoulders when they are needed. These can fire either a volley of standard rockets, good for damaging buildings and terrain, or “blade rockets” which damage first by exploding, and secondly by showering the target with small but very sharp bladed weapons. These can damage other MFVs with the initial explosion, and cause lots of technical damage to small but vital systems. They’re perfect for paralyzing opponents while Alkaid moves in with her blades for the final blow. MFV Special Equipment: Energy shield. Since Tranquil Mantis can’t take a lot of heavy damage, it is equipped with an energy shield which can take a few good hits before being depleted. Alkaid tries to use this strategically and not rely on it too much. Back mounted thrusters that can sustain prolonged flight. These are mainly used to increase Tranquil Mantis’s speed and jumping abilities, but they can be utilized for air battles when needed.
Combat Specialties: Her empathy allows her to integrate with the machine almost seamlessly, and it never responds in a way that she doesn’t expect. This level of integration allows Alkaid to move with amazing speed and agility, making her difficult to hit in battle. She fights with powerful close range weapons, but also has a few ways to keep an opponent at a distance. Since Tranquil Mantis is not heavily armored, Alkaid’s style is to avoid massive damage, and wait for the perfect moment to strike.
LTC Score: 242

(( Rough Draft ~ Will add or subtract stuff once it's fleshed out more. ))
Gaia Name: Pleasantly Ridiculous Character Name: Lila Arundhati लीला अरुन्धती Age: 25 Gender: Female Country of Origin: India
Appearance: Olive-tan skin, long and wavy black hair; almond shaped, dark brown eyes. She’s only 5ft tall, slender but toned physique. The bottoms of her feet and the palms of her hands are usually henna stained to keep cool.
Personality: Straight forward, but relatively friendly; she’s easy going and determined. She believes that life is too short to be down in the dumps for too long, but can’t pick up on subtle distinguishing factors in someone’s voice that would say whether said person would be joking or not. Unfortunately, this leads for her to take some topics of discussion almost too seriously, or completely misunderstand the conversation all together.
Faction: GBE Occupation: Army Postal Service Corps (Mail Carrier)
Brief History: One would think she lived a privileged life, but she would disagree. Her parents wanted to raise her in Indian tradition, focusing her studies on language, and the arts of dance and music; eventually attempting to force her into an arranged marriage. That’s when Lila decided to go into the army; she figured she would have more freedom serving her country than serving a husband. When she joined the army, she was quick to learn all they had to teach her, but she had a problem following orders. Very little disciplinary action was put against her because even though she disobeyed orders, the end result of doing so always turning out positive, good…some form of success. Not knowing what to do with her, they shuffled her through the various corps until she dead ended in the Postal Service Corps. They found her very dedicated towards delivering the mail. She has yet to take the LTC test, claiming that mail delivery takes so much of her time. Now that’s dedication! Rumor has it that she stole a hummer in the middle of a skirmish to deliver a package of homemade cookies to a soldier. Turns out that said soldier had been seriously injured, so while he was enjoying his cookies made by his daughter, Lila patched him up and got him to the closest medical unit; saving his leg from amputation! It has also been said that Lila uses any junk mail she finds for papier-mâché sculptures that she sells on Ebay. Her best sellers are of the Buddha in various Kama Sutra poses.
Personal Strengths/Skills: She’s proficient in hand to hand combat, and with a variety of fire arms, as well as operating a various land vehicles. She also knows two or three other languages, and is usually reading different translation dictionaries during her free time. Will get the job done in any way possible.
Personal Weaknesses: Does not follow orders very well; even though she was not drafted into the army, she doesn’t entirely agree with the way they handle different situations. She believes that some orders just contradict the issue at hand, or are just flat out not logical at all when it comes to solving the problem. It might be why she likes the postal service corps so much; you have one job and one job only, and that’s to get the mail delivered to the right person. While she might be fluent in Hindi and English, her grammar and pronunciation in some of the other languages she studies is rather atrocious, which tends to lead to some…what she might consider…rather humorous misunderstandings. Has a tendency of opening letters; claims to help give a heads up to those getting ready for combat…to either give them something worth living for, or a reason to seriously kick some arse…as well as to weed out that pesky junk mail.
Notable Relationships: None at the Moment. Not even with her parents, as all ties have been broken off when she refused her arranged marriage and joined the army.

Gaia Name: [Kold] Character Name: 無月 刃 (surname: Mugetsu, given name: Jin) Age: 28 Gender: Male Country of Origin: Japan Appearance: Unknown Personality: honorable and courteous, yet mistrusting and secretive. Faction: Dai Nippon Protectorate (DNP) Occupation: mercenary, transient Brief History: Little is known about Jin Mugetsu except that he is a fugitive in the Dai Nippon Protectorate for various crimes including hacking into Japan's database and erasing all files relating to him, and most recently: stealing their prototype new model MFV: Ryojin. He has eluded capture for nearly 2 years. has been able to stay at large because of his exceptional combat skills. Many underestimate have underestimated him because his LTC score is 0, all of which are deceased. His previous bounty was ¥500,000,000 (about $6.5 million).
MFV Name: 龍神 (Ryōjin) MFV Appearance: (will add later) MFV Weapons: * 月牙 (Getsuga) - a unique katana that is not hindered by anything except solid objects. It can be used through both air and water without any kind of speed decrease.
