Susurro glared at the horizon line. There was a figure moving upon it and he wasn't particularly interested in being social. Then again, the purple leopard was never interested in socializing. He came out here, to this dry section of the rogue lands where other creatures came to die, to be alone. So seeing someone heading this way didn't exactly excite him. He supposed he should move so that he himself was not silhouetted and easy to see, but that required effort and Susurro wasn't big on effort. So he'd sit and wait and see what exactly life had in store for him today.

Cordula was a long ways away from her family now, which was only somewhat on purpose. She'd lost her way in a typical day of pretending she might actual wander away from her father and brothers- something she could never do where she was so dependent on others. She could take care of herself if she had to, but she simply liked having others around to try bossing around and arguing with.
When she spotted a nearby figure, she decided it was too good a chance to pass up. She needed to socialize more, though it would have been better to do it around home. Still, couldn't be that picky!
She didn't make much of a secret of her approach, and when she was near enough to be clearly seen and heard, she held her head high and wore a confident smile.
"Hello there!"

Susurro watched the young leopardess approach fearlessly. What gave her the right to be so cheery and confident that he wasn't going to harm her? What made her think that he actually wanted to interact with her?
He knew what he was supposed to do when someone greeted him. He was supposed to greet them back. However, he didn't really want to do that. But he felt he shouldn't just sit silently.
"What do you want," he asked flatly, purple eyes glaring at his unwanted visitor.

He didn't look fast enough to be a serious threat from where he was, Cordula kept a comfortable distance between them, and she was far from put off by his attitude. In fact, is made her smile widen.
"I was just out for a walk and was wondering why anybody would make themselves comfortable and hang out in such a dull area," she said, looking around them thoughtfully. There really wasn't much allure to this place- how had she even decided to keep heading for it? Was it because this purple leopard was here?

The older leopard's glare never wavered as he watched his uninvited guest go on talking. He didn't like people, he didn't like them near him, didn't like them talking to him, just really didn't like them at all.
"To get away from people like you," he retorted sternly. If he was sharp enough with her, hopefully she'd go away and leave him be. That would make him a very happy leopard indeed.

Her eyes narrowed, though she never really lost her smile and a hint of cheeriness seemed to be permanently stuck in her voice.
"Didn't work, then, did it?"
Not much interesting about antisocial leopards. Sometimes their reasons for being so antisocial could be interesting to learn, but that would require some luck and persuasion.. and she didn't doubt it would be difficult to get him to talk about it. So she had no intention of trying.
She could still have some fun, though. She liked arguing.

He was more annoyed now than before. She wasn't leaving. And it seemed like she wasn't going to. Susurro sighed and got to his feet. He wasn't exactly big for a leopard, but he was bigger than the adolescent in front of him.
"Apparently not," he replied, a growl in his voice. "So what is your reason for bothering me out here in the middle of nowhere when you could stay in more survivable lands and be a nuisance there."
Really. She came all the way out here - she had to have some kind of reason! Everything happened for a reason as far as Susurro was concerned. He came out here, in truth, to avoid those things that happened. Oftentimes, he saw things in other people. Usually it was their deaths. The leopard Seer believed that if he wasn't there to see those endings, that they might be able to avoid them, live a bit longer. Even so, he didn't want to be around others and be so horribly aware of their mortality.
So he came out here, where things didn't live at all. Save for himself.

Cordula smartly took a small step back when he got up to his feet, taking it as a sign of aggression. He wasn't just annoyed, he was willing to do something about it, it looked and sounded like. But it would take away from her confident approach to react too strongly, so she stood her ground.
"Curiosity," she answered, "What's life without a little adventure?"
Nevermind that she was technically lost- she was confident when she wanted to turn around and go home, she would find her way no problem. The only problem now was she would not want to look like this one had scared her off, so she would have to continue on the same direction and circle back around.
Far less certain but far more interesting.

Curiosity. That was a terrible reason for doing anything. There was nothing at all that he could find justafiable by curiosity. Susurro's life was built around certainties and he saw no reason to be curious about them.
"Curious," he spat. "Adventure. You would throw your life away for those cruel mistresses?" The young were stupid and this leopardess was clearly holding true to that. He couldn't believe it, that this girl would just wander out here for no good reason at all. Did she have no respect at all for her own life?
"This place is death to those who do not know it," he continued angrily. "You can't have missed the bones of those who tried or who, like yourself, were just 'curious' about the area," the leopard snarled. His claws were extended and his tail lashed angrily behind him at the thought of this foolish child playing with things she should just leave be.

There were a couple ways to take what the stranger said- and it was not a good time to take the optimistic route, he was right to say she was taking a chance even being here, taking a chance the cranky leopard wasn't referring to himself as one of the real dangers of the area would have been far too risky. He certainly looked the part.
"Don't you worry, I don't intend to stick around," she said, daring to take her eyes off his face as she looked down to his claws. It seemed it was a good time to take her leave. She took another step back and then a slight one to the side, careful not to turn her back to him entirely.

Susurro snorted. What a young idiot she was. She was going to get herself killed if she went on like this. The leopard's face twisted as he realized that he'd just talked himself into ensuring that she got out of this alive.
"You think those corpses meant to 'stick around'?" he pressed the girl. "You think they intended to die alone out here, far from anyone and anything?" He took a step towards her, menace in every line of his body.
"You should turn around now, go back where you came from. Else you'll end up just like them."

Cordula's eyes narrowed, this time more angry than amused by it. He was pressing the issue, still very dangerous looking. She wasn't worried about where she went, she had a very specific place to go back to with three very specific leopards who would look for her if she didn't come back. But the threat in his voice and his stance was impossible to ignore.
As much as she hated to back down, she would never see him again, so did she really need to worry about saving face? No, but then how was best to go about turning her back to him when he looked ready to attack her?
With a glare, a sigh and one quick move, she turned herself around, taking the chance and just walking off. Her ears were tilted back, though, listening in case he made another move.

Susurro watched the young leopardess glare back at him and leave. Good. She still had strength to go with her spunk and now, with that fire in her, would almost certainly make it back out.
Unless if she got lost. Which was a remote possibility. However, he didn't exactly want to chivvy her along. That would defeat the purpose of coming out here to be alone.
The leopard snorted to himself and retracted his claws. Then he settled back down on the ground once more. In a few hours he'd track her. Just to make sure she was headed back towards more survivable lands.
At least, that's what he told himself.
