The sunset burned across the grass and trees, lighting it up like a wild fire. There she was laying under a rock near a watering hole, but the sun was on her lighting her up. Her ears swiveled listening to all that she needed to make sure she would stay safe since this little place was home to many crocodiles.
She watched them with one eye open, tail twitching in irritation. This was not how she wanted to spend her night with no fun. A dismal way to spend the last few hours of light before she found a high perch to call home. Even messing with the crocodiles had lost its appeal an hour into it.
"Bored." She muttered to no one in particular.

The grey form came in like the sunset: slow, steady, but still sure to wander within the area - it was full of crocodiles, he had noticed by now, but because of that, he was sure none of his children would also wander through here. He breathed a sigh of relief, glad to be free of all of them chattering. By now, they could have taken care of themselves. In fact, the other day he suggested that to them; however, some of them remained. Maybe it would take a few more days... But still, it wasn't soon enough for the weary and still young dad.
He cursed the female leopard that caused him this trouble, and calmly made his way through the body of water teeming with those toothy critters. Surely he would be able to spend the night here, away from the nuisances that chattered up his night so much to keep him from his slumber.
Then again, they weren't so bad to have around... it was simply the fact that they were forced upon him that distressed him so. He never wanted to see another female leopard again.
It just happened by chance that he came upon a rock that housed something that looked like the sky itself - he had to think twice that something was out of place. Even then, the small voice that came from that area snapped him into reality, and his black eyes stared at the space beneath the large rock. It seemed the place offered a cozy resting ground for another feline.
He approached the form, intrigued by its colors... it reminded him of something, yet he could not quite figure out what. However, when he was close enough, he saw it for what it truly was:
"A leopard!" he half exclaimed, half baffled and frightened of the sight.

His exclamation startled her and she jumped up, bristling with anger as she snarled. She didn't know who it was and so she was on guard. Usually she wasn't the one being snuck up on so she didn't really like this situation.
It had been a good moment, watching the dumb brutes swim around eyeing her and then this light colored leopard just sprung up out of nowhere it seemed. She swore that there was no one else out there and listening she had hear nothing, but she was dozing a little.
Once she finally calmed herself and saw the male, she laid back down. Her playful nature was on cooldown at the moment and she wasn't ready to jump back into that skin until the morning light unless it was for a very good reason. "You bumping on my happy sleep hour?" Ok so there was some playfulness left in her.

He wasn't quite accepting of the company, either. Great. Before, a female leopard just left him with a bunch of kids. Now, one was snarling at him. Just great. Why did all female leopards have to be so... inconveniencing? This was why he didn't want to see another one again.
Maybe going back to his children would be better than crossing paths with this female.
Except he saw that she settled herself back down into a more relaxed pose, staring at him with those dark eyes. He just hoped that she wouldn't ask him for something.
"It doesn't look like you're sleeping," he observed, stepping up to her to peer more at who was issuing this inquiry.
He seemed a little mesmerized by her coat, wondering why he started to feel... a certain something. It definitely was some familiarity, but he surely did not know this leopard.
"Do I know you..?" he asked - he wasn't quite sure, as he'd passed by many on his travels, so it could have also been true that the two had met, "I feel like I've seen you before."

His response tickled her the wrong way, but she wouldn't bite at him. There was no need. "I was sleeping." Rolling her eyes at the male she cracked a grin at him. "Honestly I was dozing, but now I'm no longer tired. You've caught my interest." Sethunya raised an eyebrow at him, he was soft of the eyes but he seemed to have some troubles.
He kept staring at her like something was wrong with her, but when he asked if she knew him she couldn't put his face to anything in her memory. "I've been around the lands a few times. Maybe you saw me at a watering hole or maybe we passed each other hunting?" She shrugged her shoulders, "I don't remember you if we have though."
Now she heaved herself up, looking at him with soft eyes. "Sethunya. You can call me Seth. You?"

It was relieving for him that she was at least warming up to his presence, which in turn allowed him to feel less furious towards her kind. But what did she mean by having him catch her interested..? He remembered hearing those words before, but the things that entailed after them...
"Sethunya, huh? Yeah, never heard of that one. I am Goshi. Just Goshi," he replied.
He just stood there for a few seconds, silently staring at her. He had the mind to leave, but there seemed to be something more to the situation that he could gain. He just couldn't figure out what it was, but he could not stop staring at her pelt.
"So, what are you doing in the middle of all these crocodiles?" he asked, "If you were going to sleep here, you might wake up inside one of them."

She just about rolled off into the damn waters with his joke, or what she took as a joke. The roar of her laughter made the crocodiles turn to them and dip down into the water. "I'm not sure I'd wake up inside one Goshi. Last I checked crocs don't usually leave their victims alive." She held up a paw, "Yes I know it was rhetorical. But I had to answer." She was still reeling from that one.
He seemed kind enough and so she wouldn't push him away. "Shall we go somewhere with less danger or do you like the danger? Personally, I laugh at moments like this. I'm smart enough to avoid it if it comes down to life or death, I'm not going to let myself get killed." She gave a nod and pranced to the waters edge, "Here that?!" the scenery colored leopard yelled, "Not going to eat me today you dumb stupid beasts!"
Though out of the corner of her eye she could tell he was still staring at her, so she popped a question, "Sunrise or sunset?" She asked, wondering if he knew what she was talking about then added, "My pelt. Its what you're debating right?"

Well, this leopardess sure had a lot of words to say - he didn't even offer that many himself! Regardless, she seemed amused and in good spirits, which wasn't bad at all. In fact, it perhaps had a hint of an effect in lightening up his own demeanor.
She sure was loud, though... Perhaps even Sethunya had the ability to scare the crocodiles away with her voice - not Goshi, though - her words and volume left him unfazed, and he even stepped closer to her from what must have been half an invitation.
From what he'd heard so far, Sethunya seemed like an excitable and exciting leopard, despite their less than nice first impressions. Still, he was not the talkative sort - or at least not to the extent of what Sethunya had to say. He was just content in floating around, and staying chill wherever the winds took him.
Goshi fell out of his dazed stare into her pelt, making the final steps to be beside her - but far enough to get a full view of her body. Even though she noticed where his eyes were, he still could not help but focus on that one thing. Those clouds...
"Sunrise or sunset?" he repeated, plopping himself down to look on some more - at least she didn't seem to mind; in fact, it sounded like she even liked the fact that he was admiring her coat!
"It would depend on your personality, right?" he tried an answer, but then added, "But right now, it seems like it would be better to say sunset, as you look exactly like the view beyond this watering hole."
He slipped a yawn out, putting a paw into the now-clear water right in front of him. Goshi still wasn't sure what he was doing here, but it sure felt a little relaxing. Now, it was definitely more relaxing than staying with his children.
"I'm here to just relax for a while. You are pretty good company - more than I can say for other female leopards," he stated, black eyes looking back into hers, "So how about we just rest here for the night, as I'm sure these toothy folk won't dare cross two of us. I can stay up and guard for just a little bit to make sure they won't get near."

Though he didn't talk much, she didn't mind. It seemed her travel mates didn't like to talk as much as she did, quite alright with her. Besides, he was staring at her and she enjoyed it. When he compared her to the sunset, she felt pride. "Are you saying I'm beautiful?" She asked, wondering what was going on in this male's head.
He wanted to relax and he'd keep watch over both of them for a while. It meant she could sleep for a few hours before taking watch herself. "I'll take second watch then. I'm sure that they won't come near us. Thank you Goshi." She smiled as him, relaxing a bit more as she settled back in to put her head on her paws.

Goshi shrugged her question off, thinking nothing of it; nothing would matter even if he did think she was beautiful - he was done with dealing with female leopards, save for this one time her company was better than his childrens' at night, and would help him in avoiding the surrounding crocodiles.
"If you suppose sunsets are beautiful," he commented, nodding to her agreement to their plan.
One last night with a female leopard - that was it, and no more, Goshi thought. So as Sethunya laid down, closing her eyes, he stood there, just gazing at the pelt... It was almost dreamlike, and he was glad he had this chance to watch over the scene. Though it made his heart feel content, his mind knew that he would forever be rid of female leopards after this one.
