Nature of the Economy on Telrunya
There is no currency on Telrunya. Pae'il get what they need by bartering. One Pae'il could grow turnips, and can trade those to other pae to get their fabrics, fuels, grains and other necessities.
There are no grocery stores, however, once a month there is a farmers market in which Pae'il will be able to bring their goods to trade with others.
Pae'il do not have to have a job, but being able to specialize in a trade will ensure they have the means to acquire additional goods they might like to have.
RP Rules:Pae'il no longer have everything they need at the drop of a hat. They have to work for it. No one has to ret-con anything. If your pae has human items from long ago, they can keep them. Use them for bartering even. You do not have to RP the mundane daily tasks of farming or mining, unless you want to. You are allowed to assume the work is done regularly. Farmers are very well-loved, because they provide the food on the island. They are likely to be the "richest" pae'il on the island. No Pae'il is a "jack of all trades" meaning they cannot grow their own food, make their own cloth, blow their own glass, chop their own trees, smelt their own ore, process their own algae, butcher their own livestock, build their own house AND still have time for a social life. That is very Mary Sue. Any Pae who has a job has to Specialize. This will make them better at their job, but they won't be as good at other tasks. A farmer can still fish, but they won't be as good as a pae who's job is to be a Fisherpae. (Note: Pae who do not specialize or have a job will not be recognized as an expert in any field.)

Agriculture
Farmers, ranchers and fisherpae will provide food and clothing to the island. This is one of the more important jobs a Pae'il can have. Pae'il who choose this profession are likely to have more, because they create goods that can easily be traded for other goods.
Pae'il should choose crops, fishing or livestock to specialize in.
Resources:Wild VegetationBananas - available year round Coconuts - available year round Papaya - available year round Berries - available only in the summer Herbs - depending on the climate, all herbs can be found somewhere on the island Mushrooms - found in the forests and jungles year round Tea - various plants whose leaves produce tea are available year round Fish & Wild GameFish - fresh water or salt water, depending on where you fish Rabbits, squirrels, deer, duck, geese, and most other forest-type creatures Turkeys - they lurk around the island Wild Boar - they are somewhat dangerous, but can be found in Dragnid Domesticated CropsAny crop can be grown on Telrunya provided it is grown in the proper climate at the right time of year. Seeds for any type of crop, including fruit trees, are available from the Trading Post. Cotton Soybeans Domesticated LivestockSheep Goats Pigs Chickens Ducks Alpacas (for their fleece, not for food)
Also part of this category are Miners and Loggers. In the mountains of Telrunya, there are ores of all kinds, as well as coal which can be used for fuel.
Pae'il are respectful of their environment, so they will not be wasteful, so miners and loggers will not destroy the environment by over-using it.

Academics
These Pae'il will teach others, and provide a means for Pae'il to expand their knowledge. They are also the highly educated Pae'il dedicated to preservation.
RP Note: These jobs will be assigned by the staff based on RP participation and Pae'il personality. If you are interested in one of these professions, please contact a staff member so we can add your Pae'il to the list of considered Pae'il. Most of these professions will require additional knowledge of the island that we have not revealed yet, for plot reasons. The Pae who occupy these positions will likely be called in to the plot for specific things, so we need to make sure actively RP'd Pae occupy these.
Professions:Teachers (all types from children tutors to professors) Librarian Museum curator (there will be a museum in the City) Museum artifact procurers (the person who gets the artifacts to put in the museum - can also be considered a Treasure Hunter, but will not keep the treasures) Archaeologist (studies the ruins on the island) Geologists Scientists Researchers

Miscellaneous
Have the perfect job for your Pae'il, but it's not listed? This is the post for you!
Telrunya is an ever-evolving island, and as the inhabitants grow and and advance themselves, sometimes new needs arise. The listed jobs are not the only things Pae'il can do, but they are the jobs the island needs right now.
You are welcome to give your Pae'il any job that fits their personality and powers provided the following conditions are met:The job makes sense to exist on a (mostly) tropical island away from any other civilization. It does not put your Pae in a position of judgement or authority over any other Pae. It will not break the fourth wall, cause godmodding or be considered Marysue. It does not require advanced knowledge of the plot (we assign these positions, however if you have a good idea for a position, we are always open to hear ideas and work them in to the plot).
