It had probably been for the best that when the Colossus had gained access to the dorms, most of the denizens of the school had been off on their little...trip.. they were taking. Not to say Sura had mind the silence. Silence was something she'd grown rather accustom to out in the Forbidden Lands she'd hailed from. The tight spaces, however, had been something quite awkward for her, and she'd lumbered through the hallway awkwardly. It may have only been fortunate enough that she didn't have to duck to keep her head from hitting the ceilings in the common areas.

It was double-y fortunate that she'd been well accommodated for her massive size in the rooming department as well. Large with a high ceiling. However, the first obstacle that had struck was the door and a mix with having to use a key to get into said door. Unfortunately, Sura had managed to break said key off in the lock, but only after a battle of wondering how the stupid thing worked with the hole for it and then growling at the ring of keys she'd been given. Fortunately, she didn't lament it for long, as her next obstacle had been getting IN to said room.

For that, ducking was required, and it had taken her several minutes, and slams of her horns against the top of the door frame, for her to realize just what it was hindering her from moving the way she wanted to.

Time allotted to entering the room: 25 minutes. It was probably pathetic, but she fumbled with the whole 'having a thumb' thing quite awkwardly. Which was about when the door came off the hinges.

Sura held onto the door with a sort of blank stare, as though trying to comprehend what had happened, an upset keening sort of sound echoing in her large chest-cavity. Umbrae and Pragma sat in the doorway, peering out into the hall with a stare that rivalled the eerie leering of their master. To them, the small entrapped space of the dorm was large and full of adventure.

Which was probably why Darus had wandered away, the Follossus going on an adventure down into the halls of the building. It would be a small amount of time before Sura realized he was gone.

Coming back from a little excursion outside of his room to get some fresh air, Jericho slowly made his way back through the dorm. It was still awkward moving around with the crutches but he was having an easier time with it than when he first started using them.

The school had been rather quiet since the others were out on their field trip, though that silence was about to be broken by a loud sort of keening. Furrowing his brow, the dragon stared down the hall, wondering who or what had made that noise. It didn't sound.. particularly happy.

Curiously, he hobbled on down the hall to investigate, but paused as he spotted a small creature in the hall. It looked to be some sort of Jollyfox, but it wasn't a breed he had seen before. Someone's minipet must have gotten out in any case.

"Eh? What are you doing out here little guy? Got lost from your master?" he said while approaching it.

Darus looked up from his investigations at the not-as-tall figure of Jericho, leaning back on his hind legs to balance in a sort of psuedo sitting-up act as though he had been trained to greet in such a way. He made a small noise, a mix between a bark and a chirp in greeting, but remained balanced as though waiting for something, eyes transfixed. Either the Follossus possessed no eyelid, or they were masters of staring contests, as the stare just...

went on...forever.

Or rather it would have if Sura hadn't gone looking for the little guy. Setting the busted door aside, she navigated the hall with a sort of claustrophobic sensitivity, looking over the walls and ceiling as though accusing them of trying to entrap her into such a space. If she ever got locked into a room, she'd probably panic loudly and thrash around enough to raise the dead. Literally. But if it were to happen, it wasn't right then. Calamitas Esurientes was quite familiar with that greeting noise she heard down the hall, making her way towards it with.

"Darus."

Her voice vibrated with two distinctly different pitches spoken at the same time, however she noticed the dragon boil before she actually took to the Follossus, fishing through her pockets for a small and carefully wrapped treat. The packaging was flimsier than one of those Listerine-breath-strip-things in her hands, falling to pieces almost immediately as she attempted to handle it.

"He will hold that as long as it takes for him to get what it is he desires." she explained, her sentence spoken slowly as she offered the item towards Jericho. Perhaps she wanted him to give it to the pet? After all, Darus was holding the position for him.

"I believe I have seen you...." she added as an afterthought, all eight of her eyes focusing on the dragon to study for a moment of recollection.

The little jox seemed to be friendly for sure, as it greeted him before sitting up onto its hind legs and... stared at him.

Well that was slightly unsettling considering how it was just holding that position. What did it want? The dragon didn't get to dwell on it too long as he heard a familiar voice speak from down the hall. Looking up, he spotted the large monster girl he had seen a couple times before. She must have gotten enrolled some time ago if she was in the dorms.

Before he could greet her, she held out a little.. treat type thing to him. It didn't quite look like the FEAR candy he gave his pets, but there were likely multiple types out there. A part of him wondered if this was home-brewed in fact. The candies he saw made in Malcom's class turned out with a large variety of different things.

Tilting his head, Jericho took it before offering it to the stoney-jox.

"Yeah, you were at the open house," he replied, recalling her at the booth. Unfortunately right now, her name escaped him, "I'm Jericho. I was manning the fitness club booth."

Darus took the treat eagerly, breaking the position to devour it. In terms of pet training, he definitely seemed to be food oriented. Sura left him to be, however. It seemed, fortunately, the boil could recall things with much more clarity than she could. That was good. It would spare her wondering about it until she forgot it had ever been a concern to begin with. So probably until he'd left her sight completely. Excellent.

"Yes. That sounds correct." Sura seemed to agree with his certainty, nodding before reaching down and picking up the Follossus by the scruff of his neck, propping him over the crook of her arm as though he weighed nothing. Perhaps to her, he did. Part of that whole..lumbering about thing she seemed to have going for her. "I am Calamitas Esurientes..." She paused, seeming to mull over her name for a moment. That wasn't a first-name-last-name thing. It was all one name. She didn't really have a sur-name. However, for the sake of..ease, she did seem to have a back-up for him. "Sura, perhaps would be easier to recall." she finished, seeming content with that, before her eyes went to the crutches, looking at them with a sort of transfixed curiosity.

She'd never seen them or anything like them before. The colossus reached out to touch one of them before seeming to freeze, hand half-way gestured towards one of the crutches as though the fact she should have asked had just caught up with her, leaving her with a long stare that probably rivalled that of the pet that hung off of her arm.

Smiling as Darus seemed to be happy with his offering, Jericho leaned lightly on his crutches and looked up to the taller girl. For a moment, confusion lit up within his eyes as she gave her name. That definitely did not ring any bells for him, and he was starting to try and repeat it mentally so he wouldn't forget it. But then she gave him something easier to remember for sure. Whew!

"Pleasure to meet you again Sura," he grinned. The look faded back into confusion when she reached out for his crutches.

The dragon stared back for a moment, not quite sure what was wanted here.

"Er..."

Leaning off of that one crutch and more on the other, he slowly offered it to her.

"It's.. just a crutch."

Sura took the crutch, still giving it a baffled look, all of her eyes, even those on her torso, seeming to follow it as she gave it a look over. After a moment, she offered it back, seeming to still not understand.

"I am not sure what a 'crutch' is for, but I will remember that is what it is called. I have not seen one before." she explained, seeming to bear no shame in her lack of knowledge. She lived in a land where she'd never even seen her siblings nor her parental figure because there was space and stuff to smash. The consideration of it all hadn't really struck her yet. However, she did watch the shift in his weight, seeming to try and put two and two together.

However, it simply didn't make sense to her. Body language would be the first thing that confused her after the crutch did. Facial expressions would also harbor a bit of it herself. Being amongst a group would just be plain old interesting, if nothing else. After a moment, she seemed to have another thought strike her;

"The door..." she paused, turning to point down the hall she had come from. "How do I...reattach it....? Do you know?" Was there someone she needed to ask about that or did she just prop it up and hope the magical elves who worked on doors would get to it when she did something resembling sleep?

Why was the building so small, why did everything break? Why was Darus trying to eat the sleeve of her what-probably-used-to-be-a-sweater? Probably the same one she'd been wearing at the open house, at that. Whoops. She'd definitely done a number on it.

"Oh. I broke my leg, so these just help me move around," Jericho explained while glancing down to his right leg which had the cast. Taking the crutch back, he got it in place so he could distribute his weight a little more evenly again.

When Sura mentioned a door that needed reattaching, he blinked at her. Wait. Did she break something? Perhaps the door was already broken? Did someone try to break into her room? That might explain that cry he heard earlier if that was the case.

"Ah... you'll probably have to get one of the gnomes to do it. Unless you happen to know someone else that could fix it. Is the hinge just broken or... is there something else wrong with it?" he asked. It was unfortunate he wasn't all that handy himself else he could give it a shot.

Sura seemed baffled. Why would he break his leg?? Weren't other things more interesting to break? Maybe he'd simply been wanting to play with the crutch-thingies and that's why he'd done it. That would make sense..would it? Oh, she didn't know. The populace was quite confusing and she'd only met so few of them by that point in time. The only other one she'd had the opportunity to meet had perched on her horns and started crooning songs.

A strange little bird-like man-thing. Man? Maybe not man. She didn't know.

"I will show you." she offered, setting the Follossus down gingerly and pushing him ahead with a hand. Darus seemed to pout, but reneged. He'd probably go get lost somewhere else. However, Sura seemed pretty certain it would be best to show what the problem with the door was, rather than try to explain it.

She still wasn't sure what had happened to it. Either way, she made her way down the hall and stepped into the room, taking that awkward pause to put her hands on the top of the door frame using it to make sure she crouched far enough to not hit her horns on it again. Stupid door frame was not quite tall enough for her. She'd need to fix that.

There would probably be a huge chunk of the wall missing if it kept up too long.

However, she picked up the door she'd left on the floor and held it up.

"It came off when I opened it." she explained.

Nodding, Jericho followed her to her room, which wasn't too far off. Pausing at the entrance to her room, he looked towards where the hinges were supposed to be. His gaze then shifted over to where Sura was as she held up the door.

"Damn," was all he said in response to her apparently pulling the door off when opening it. This girl had a lot of power... though it seemed like she didn't have that much control. This was just a guess, going off of what he had here.

"But yeah, gonna have to flag down a gnome or two to fix this up. I'd just keep an eye on your things while they're around. Sneaky little bastards... They have their uses but they're a pain to deal with most of the time."

Personally, he would just rather use them as punting material. That was always fun. That one undead gnome from the festival was especially fun to kick around.

"Though, for future reference, you might want to be a little more careful opening the door."

Sura propped the door up against the wall, seeming to take a certain extra degree of care in making sure she didn't utterly demolish it again. She'd already destroyed enough things. However, she paused at the mention of 'things', looking into the...pretty much empty room. There were a few rocks (she'd probably brought them in herself), and some strange foliage, but..beyond that she'd put nothing in there. Just a few more of the Follossus, which Darus romped over to greet, a large black one pulling him over with a paw for a grooming.

"They would be hard-pressed to steal a Follossus..or to steal from me at all." she noted. "I own nothing, or next to it at most." Sura grinned, her face literally splitting open with the gesture. "And they would probably fit inside my mouth without too much problem." She added as an extra thought. Either way, however, she certainly did need to find a gnome to ask about fixing that door for her.

She'd probably end up stepping on most of them before she finally got to make her inquiry about it all. Alas. However, she didn't seem to mind the suggestion about door handling in the least. "I have..never possessed a..." she held up a hand, rotating the thumb on it a bit and making a face. "I am adjusting. It will hopefully pass."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 22, 2011 10:25 pm

Looking around the room, Jericho could now see there really wasn't much to be stolen here. It was a little disturbing to him actually, especially with how big the place was. It seemed to be around the same size as his own, which had him wondering just how big her true form was.

"Haha, I like the way you think," he said with a toothy grin before thoughtfully adding, "Though I don't think a gnome would taste all that good personally."

The mention of the lack of thumbs normally did explain her struggles with the door. While his true form had opposable thumbs, it did take a bit of adjusting to this two legged, tail-less form when he first got his skull pin.

"Gotcha. Well I'm sure you'll get used to it sooner or later. Hopefully you won't have to bust down too many doors in the process though. I'm guessing you just got enrolled not too long ago then?"

"Many things do not taste good. Eating is to fill the emptiness, not to savor a flavor." Sura replied, though truthfully enough she probably would have been better off not eating a gnome anyways. Indigestion and explosions and all of that stuff. The Mother-father creature had spoken to her and told her not to eat her peers, no matter if she thought they were bite sized or not. So despite her own curiosity, Sura would not be doing experiments on if she could fit her fellow students into her mouth.

A shame, really. She probably could have made a record with that oddity.

The colossus nodded at the inquiry about her enrollment at the academy. "You can step in, if you like. There..isn't much in here, but you're welcome never the less.

Yes, that is true. It is also true that my visits away from home may be the first any of my particular....herd...have left my homelands, but Mother-Father Creature deemed that it was necessary that one of us leave home to work on arming ourselves. We...are quite fortunate to not be extinct, as we are now.
"

Her nose curled slightly and she looked to the space, reaching her hands up towards the ceiling. It was so high, even as she was she couldn't reach it. She wondered how big the space would be if she took that pesky pin off, but alas.. probably better to not do that with company.
PostPosted: Sat Oct 22, 2011 10:41 pm

Well, she did have a point there, though Jericho preferred to at least eat tasty things whenever he was hungry. Moving on into her room as she invited him, the dragon listened to what she said regarding her coming to this school. It seemed that her kind didn't stray far from home too often, which did explain a few of her quirks. Those lands must be ones far away too, he guessed.

It also sounded that her kind were very few in numbers.

"I see. Well then welcome to Amityville, Sura. Hope you enjoy it here at least," he nodded to her. It would be a pity if she ended up loathing this place while she was so far from home. Though, there wouldn't be much stopping her from leaving he supposed.

"Though... what are you exactly, if you don't mind me asking?"

The dragon was curious. He didn't know what she was, other than that she apparently was something big. She didn't seem to be a dragon subtype either.

Sura grinned, that same face-splitting grin she'd done earlier.

"Thank you, I will try to stay long and learn much." she replied, dropping her arms from that attempted reach towards the ceiling. It would be nice. She would take knowledge home to the Mother-Father creature and he would give it to her 15 siblings. They would all learn and perhaps this time they would not all die. That would be how she liked it to be.

Jericho's question didn't seem to phase her in the least, however, simply regarding it as a natural curiosity.

"Would you prefer to hear or would you like to see?" she inquired, wondering if she needed to remove her entire belt to get that skull pin off of her or if it could just come off on it's own. Not because it would have been awkward to start stripping in front of someone she didn't know (frankly, Sura's level of 'knowing' on that front of shame was....limited), but because that required her to use those pesky thumbs of hers.

Someday she'd wondered how she'd ever lived without them.
