In deciding to take on students in FEARhealing, Cricket had realized far too late one critical thing that most of their current students probably wouldn't have even thought of; She'd been working at her craft for possibly longer than any of them had been in existence. Experience was good, but that had been the one thing that had been hindering her lesson plans.

Where was she going to start? Certainly she knew the first things to consider; make sure that the students she took in at least had the minimum of battle experience. She didn't want to make heal-tanks, that wasn't what she'd been wanting to do at all, but rather she'd been aiming to create something much more functional.

And letting the children play with FEAR would be the first step in them figuring out just how it would work to heal with when it wasn't in a function of battle. There was a difference and it would require some illustration. Even the professor herself boasted some..interesting side tasks of her own. Not that her abilities had ever...repaired some of the damage she'd done as an unruly student of the very academy she now worked at.

But never the less, it was that one key thing she needed to grasp. She hadn't been able to recall back to that moment when it had all clicked in her mind, what had made it function with the sort of ease it had developed into.

She'd required perspective, and with that, she'd made a summon to her office to perhaps the most eager of her prospective students.

High hopes were placed in the Plague Doctor, but perhaps that was something refreshing to Cricket. Perhaps It would know what she was finding herself fighting with.

Malodore hurried down to Nurse Cricket's office, trying not to seem as eager as it really was - but oh, such an honor to be specifically asked to assist her! It had no idea what it was meant to do as of yet, but to be selected for such a task, no matter what it was, was surely a mark of trust. The plague doctor was practically beside itself with excitement and pride.

... Not that one could tell, though, given that its expressionless mask helped it hide many of these feelings, as did its own equally powerful urge to not seem overeager and creepy. But oh, it had been such a long time since it had worked one-on-one with a true medical professional!

When it arrived at Nurse Cricket's office, the plague doctor took a deep breath, for the calming effect, then raised one hand and knocked. "Infermiera?" it called out, quietly. "It is I... Malodore. May I come in?"

Ginko was the first to show signs of knowing somebody was there, sitting up just a wee bit straighter on the cot he had taken housing up on. Cricket was much more subtle in her reactions, looking over a list of things that were to be done in the lull of students. Students who would come back to school battered and bruised and generally worse for wear.

As had been the case in Riley's room, there was a sensation that Cricket could feel everything, sense everything within her domain, her eyes flickering to the door when the Plague Doctor knocked on it. She was as calm as its excitement was attempting to quell itself to, if nothing else. For a moment, she didn't answer.

"You may enter without asking my permission, L.C. Malodore." she answered, not really seeming bothered by the fact that it had the Plague Doctor had felt it necessary to follow some form of courtesy.

The entire wing was...almost devoid of the normal insect activity that it normally hosted, however it was not immaculate by any means. It was almost more eerie than when she actually took the time to infest the entire space. However, she had to make preparations and that began with reneging the space to those who would be coming home. Cricket turned in her chair, not an action that was fun, only allowing the spinning seat to do a portion of it's rotation - only as much as was needed.

"I am sure by now you have come to notice the pattern with the school's field trips, have you not?"

Malodore pushed open the door and stepped inside after Cricket spoke. "Ah, you may call me Malodore, if you'd like," it offered, wiggling its fingers absently at the Scareons as it passed by them. It ended up standing in front of Cricket, at proper attention.

"Is the pattern 'vehicles have an accident, students fend for themselves, students become injured and/or otherwise damaged'? I have noticed that, si," it said with a nod. Generally it would have used a vaguely disgusted tone when discussing the field trips, but for now it kept its voice neutral. Showing such disdain in front of a member of staff seemed rather ill-advised.

Cricket seemed amused by how bluntly the plague doctor summarized their field trips. "Yes. Though it is not by the design of the school, I will tell you that much. There are reasons for everything that happens." she waved one hand dismissively of the thought. Clearly, she wouldn't be clarifying what that meant by any means. At least one student was vaguely knowing of what it was the nurse implied.

"More or less, my point is simply that upon the time your classmates return there should be some preparation made for FEARhealing to be taught. It would be the right opportunity and I could use the extra hands." Cricket leaned back in her seat thoughtfully, looking over the ward for a moment. "There are two problems that stem from this." She held up one finger. "One, I need to prepare both a class to be taught and get this place prepped for possibly dozens of students who will be needing things as minor as bandages up to the point of possibly needing to use my touch." she didn't emphasize what the 'touch' was. It would already know.

"Second of all, there is only one thing that has prevented these lessons I wish to extend from happening sooner: It has been many years since I myself learned to FEARheal. What is natural to me now may be a nuance that I picked up through some struggling that I can no longer relate to."

It was a valid observation, if nothing else. "And that is where I am requiring your assistance, Malodore."

"My assistance... si!" Malodore stood at attention, looking as serious as it could manage despite the sudden thrill of excitement that shot through it. Fortunately, having a natural poker face helped hugely. "It would be my honor, Infermiera - what FEARhealing I have learned is of an obscure and obsolete variety. Learning modern methods would be very much like starting from scratch, I feel, so... antiquated were the methods of my Casa." It bobbed its head in a quick, eager nod.

"What must I do? I can begin at any time, I believe."

Its poker-face was probably only mildly effective against the ghost woman. She'd noticed the eagerness in her classes, how attentive it was to what she said, what she did. Malodore had earned her favor for a reason, and that eagerness was just that. Cricket had been eager to learn once upon a time. Albeit, she'd also gone to the lengths of slyly attempting to sabotage her classmates so she would have someone to practice on.

She knew better than that now.

"You will be learning things before your classmates. Your grasp of FEARhealing will bring a certain ease to this process, I am sure. However, you are also closer in grasp to what it is your fellow students will be trying to learn - I do not struggle with it. I do not think about it. I simply do. I need you to be the one who can think about it and break such tasks down into something that can be explained in process."

Generally, she was asking it to be a 'translator' for students who might have questioned how she accomplished things.

"Do you think such a task is within your grasps?" the nurse inquired, though really it sounded as though there wasn't a doubt in her mind about it.

"Si, Infermiera! I believe I can do this." Malodore lifted its beak, delighted. "I consider myself a novice only; I am sure I have as much to unlearn as I do to learn." It would have to take notes, of course... to carefully analyze its own processes.

How delightful! Just like an experiment. "I think I am fairly good at taking good notes on progression and process. It behooves the scientist to cultivate such skills. When shall we begin?"

Cricket seemed amused, if one with an unchanging expression could be amused.

"We will see. Sometimes even the strangest of sciences will have their...merits...as a base." Cricket certainly hadn't started off as a proper FEARhealer herself. In fact, healing was an interest that came to her later in life, somewhere after 'poison everybody' and 'be a walking infestation of mankind'. Ah, she'd had such grand goals as a child. She'd imagine the game 'Pandemic' was sort of what she was as a child.

Only a major failure at it.

"Very well. I will trust in you to manage that task for me." she said, slowly standing from her chair with the exchange. "We will begin after I have had time to prepare. I have...much to prepare for when your classmates return home. Unless you wish to assist with that as well."

"It would be my pleasure to assist, Infermiera - it has been some time since I have worked under a true professional, and I... miss it," Malodore replied, bobbing its head politely. Memories of its time in the Casa's reaper ward floated through its mind. "I presume that here, there are no bedpans to be cleaned?"
